Blake Shelton Talks Relationship With Gwen Stefani And Being A Stepdad to Her Sons

Country star Blake Shelton talked about his relationship with wife‚ singer Gwen Stefani‚ and getting to be a stepdad to her three sons‚ saying it changed him in “every possible way.” Speaking to Entertainment Tonight‚ the 47-year-old country singer recalled meeting Stefani on the reality competition series “The Voice” in 2014 and getting to be a stepfather to her three boys now — Kingston‚ 17‚ Zuma‚ 15‚ and Apollo‚ 10 — whom she shares with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. “You would see her out at the red chairs if there was a production meeting or whatever and I feel like I got to know Pharrell [Williams] more that year than I did Gwen‚” Shelton said of her first year on the show. “It wasn’t until the season she came back‚ the next one‚ that the pieces were falling together.” When asked what he would like the future to look like‚ he said a “repeat of these past 10 years” would be “perfect.” Blake Shelton Says Being Stepdad to Gwen Stefani’s Three Sons Has Changed Him in ‘Every Possible Way’ https://t.co/Pg1YCsDVjM — People (@people) April 18‚ 2024 “Next month‚ we’ve got an 18-year-old‚ which it blows my mind that already happened‚” Shelton said. “And in a couple of years‚ we’ll have another 18-year-old. And that’s … it’s gonna be I guess a lot more alone time‚ which I’m not mad about that either.” “But we still have Apollo‚ so we have another almost 10 years before we can kick him out‚ so it should be a lot of fun‚” he added. The “Boys ‘Round Here” hitmaker said getting to be a stepdad to Stefani’s three boys has made him a better person. That’s true.” In an interview in 2022‚ Shelton reflected on how his own late father raised his brother‚ when his dad married Blake’s mom Dorothy‚ who had Richie from a prior relationship. “He [Shelton’s father] took Richie on and raised him from the time he was 1 year old‚ and my brother never thought of my dad as anything other than his dad‚” Shelton said at the time. “The example that my dad set for me was that [child] was not even a consideration [in a romantic partnership]‚” he added. “You got three boys&;#63; Awesome&;#33; My dad did it. My dad raised me. I could do this. I didn’t know what I was signing up for‚ but I was all about signing up for it. And every day I’ve fallen in love with the boys as much as I do with Gwen.” The superstar couple started dating in 2015 and finally made their relationship official when they tied the knot at an intimate ceremony at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma on July 3‚ 2021. ‘Furry’ Claims Spark Walkout At Utah Middle School; School Pushes Back

A group of children and adults staged an hours-long walkout at a Utah middle school on Wednesday over an unusual issue — “furries.” The protesters walked out of Mt. Nebo Middle School‚ which is about an hour south of Salt Lake City‚ claiming that students who dress as “furries” were being disruptive. Furries are people who have an interest in animals with human qualities‚ according to WebMD. What a time to be alive. Yesterday‚ over 70 students walked out of Mt. Nebo School to protest the school for letting &;quot;furries&;quot; to bite‚ bark‚ &; lick them. ABC even interviewed a &;quot;member of the furry community&;quot; (they/them) to give a comment about the situation: pic.twitter.com/zIMjoy9U9b — End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) April 18‚ 2024 lifeisdriving https://t.co/hNxRLGJuPv — Adam Bartholomew 🗨️ (@lifeisdriving) April 17‚ 2024 In video of the protests shared to social media‚ students accuse the alleged “furries” at Mt. Nebo of biting‚ scratching‚ barking at‚ spraying air freshener on‚ and pouncing on other students. Some students who walked out complained that the furries wore masks every day‚ according to a video of the protest shared to social media. “They think they’re so cool‚” one girl said. “We can’t talk or say anything to the furries or even look at them‚ but they can come look at us and say stuff to us and touch us‚” said another girl. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP However‚ the school district’s public information officer‚ Seth Sorensen‚ pushed back on claims about students dressing up as animals. Students may wear headbands with ears‚ but they do not dress up in full-body animal costumes‚ he said. “Today‚ we had some students and parents choose to exercise their right to assemble‚ and do a little protest for what they perceived was something that was happening in the school‚” Sorensen told ABC4. “It actually is not something that’s been occurring.” “Interestingly enough‚ they really didn’t address us with anything they wanted changed‚” he said. “We want every student to feel safe when they come to school‚ and we want students to get along. In fact‚ we want adults to get along.” He added that the protest may have been the result of a miscommunication via an email from the school about an altercation between two groups of students. The school also said it has worked with some students whose dress and appearance might be disruptive to the school environment. At Wednesday’s protest‚ children held signs reading “Compelled speech is not free speech‚” as well as “I will not comply‚” and “We just wanted to learn.” A petition dubbed “Students for Humans at School‚ not animals aka furries” has garnered nearly 1‚700 signatures so far. The petition asks the school to enforce a dress code‚ which the petitioners say prohibits students from presenting themselves in a way that disrupts the learning atmosphere or creates a welfare issue. The online “furry” fandom often has sexual overtones‚ although some self-identified “furries” insist sex has nothing to do with their interest in the fandom. A 2011 survey of “furries” found that about a quarter of “furries” said they felt less than 100% human.

Rock stars react to the death of Allman Brothers’ Dickey Betts at 80

The longtime Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickey Betts passed away at the age of 80 after a long battle with cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was born in West Palm Beach‚ Florida in 1943 and started his musical career in 1960. He helped to form the Allman Brothers band in 1969 and in 1971‚ after Duane tragically died in a motorcycle accident‚ he became the band's lead guitarist. He was a member of the group from 1969 to 2000‚ when he was ousted from the band after a conflict regarding alcohol and drug abuse. After the news of his death was shared‚ many Rock stars paid their tribute to Betts. Rock and Roll Garage compiled some of those. Rock stars react to the death of the Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts at the age 80 Allman Brothers Band &;quot; With deep sadness the Allman Brothers Band learned today that founding member Dickey Betts has passed away peacefully in his home in Sarasota‚ Florida‚ following a period of declining health.&;quot; https://twitter.com/allmanbrothers/status/1781000145439527165 Slash (Guns N' Roses) &;quot;RIP #Dickey Betts&;quot; https://twitter.com/Slash/status/1780994445594317180 Warren Haynes (Gov't Mule) &;quot;RIP Dickey Betts – not sure what to say. Such a huge loss. Not only for our musical family‚ but for the world of music in general. Aside from being a huge‚ major influence on my music from before I picked up a guitar‚ Dickey was the one person I credit for everything amazing that happened in my career. As I have stated many times‚ I was a huge Allman Brothers fan from the very beginning. My oldest brother had the first album in 1969 and it got a ton of play around our house.&;quot; &;quot;By the time the Live at Fillmore East record came out in 1971‚ I was just starting to play guitar and that was with without question the album that influenced me and all my young guitar playing friends the most. We would all listen to it for hours on end‚ day in and day out. It was a moment and time. What a beautiful gift to up and coming guitar players who might want to travel down that road of improvisation and melding influences. The way he and Duane Allman played together was a thing of beauty and glory. Dickey’s style was a combination of all his diverse influences filtered through his personality and what came out was a joyous sound that would directly or indirectly influence all related music to come.&;quot; &;quot;Listening as a kid I had no idea that one day our paths would cross and that he would become a mentor to me. In addition to being the huge influence and inspiration that he had been for years‚ he was also a presence that loomed larger than life. I started playing with the Dickey Betts Band around 1986 and when he recruited me to be the other guitar player and the slide guitar player in his band‚ it was the ultimate compliment. I’ll never forget speaking to him on the phone when he called to offer me the job. It was one of those “pinch me” moments in my life‚ but I had no way of knowing what a heavy moment it would prove to be.&;quot; He continued: &;quot; After playing in Dickey’s band for 2 1/2 years‚ I got the call to join my favorite band of all time‚ The Allman Brothers Band. No one knew at that time that they were considering reforming‚ so it came as a shock to me. We all signed on to do what we thought was only gonna be a reunion tour for the band’s 20th anniversary to support the Dreams box set. Not myself or anyone else ever imagined that it would turn into what it did and I wound up spending 25 years of my life life as a member of my favorite band.&;quot; &;quot; As I’ve also said many times‚ when I think of the Allman Brothers Band‚ I automatically think of the original band with Duane Allman and Berry Oakley‚ who unfortunately passed way too soon‚ and although I’m extremely proud of my work with the band‚ that will always be the case. Dickey Betts and I created a lot of great music together and what I took from him was a major contribution in my life. It did not take long once I joined his band to realize‚ standing next to him with that beautiful tone‚ that I had a lot to work to do on both with my tone and with my style. It was amazingly intimidating to stand there night after night realizing how far I had to go. He threw me in the lake and I had to learn to swim. I am forever grateful for that “once in a lifetime” opportunity. Thanks Dickey.-WH&;quot;. https://twitter.com/thewarrenhaynes/status/1781077890727076196 Joe Bonamassa &;quot;Rest in Peace.. My first concert was Dickey Betts at Coleman's in Rome‚ New York in 1983. Blew my mind and made me want a Les Paul. My thoughts and prayers go out to Duane and the entire Betts family.&;quot; https://twitter.com/JBONAMASSA/status/1780996900247794014&;#63;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1780996900247794014%7Ctwgr%5E662813e24314ca52519891e2ab77a8218199fbd9%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fultimateclassicrock.com%2Fdickey-betts-dead-reactions%2F   Outlaws &;quot; It's with profound sadness we share the news of Dickey Betts passing. Dickey more than anyone had an impressionable impact in shaping and defining the genre of music that has come to be known as southern rock. The influence of his musicianship and songwriting skills are immeasurable‚ and his passing marks the end of an era. It's with the utmost respect and sadness that we share our condolences with his family and loved ones.&;quot; Marshall Tucker Band &;quot; We just heard the news of the passing of Dickey Betts‚ a legend and our longtime brother. We send our love and sympathy to his family. The memories hit me hard this morning after learning of his passing.&;quot; https://twitter.com/MarshallTucker/status/1781006212265292108&;#63;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1781006212265292108%7Ctwgr%5E662813e24314ca52519891e2ab77a8218199fbd9%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fultimateclassicrock.com%2Fdickey-betts-dead-reactions%2FThe post Rock stars react to the death of Allman Brothers’ Dickey Betts at 80 appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.
