Rickey Medlocke says Lynyrd Skynyrd might record a new album

Lynyrd Skynyrd was formed in 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida and they had the chance to release their first album in 1973. Sadly, their career was cut short at their prime with a tragic airplane crash that killed the lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and the guitarist Steve Gaines in 1977. The surviving musicians reunited in 1987 with Johnny Van Zant’s little brother Johnny on vocals and since then they were touring around the world. The only constant original surviving member of the group after the reunion was the guitarist Gary Rossington who passed away last year. Now, in an interview with 102.3 WBAB (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), the band's longtime guitarist Rickey Medlocke said that they might release a new album using recordings with Gary Rossington. Rickey Medlocke says Lynyrd Skynyrd might record a new album "Well, I mean, I guess I can go ahead and let it out of the bag. Johnny (Van Zant) and I had spoken going back probably before the end of last year and talked about doing a new Lynyrd Skynyrd record as a tribute to Gary. It's been about a year and a half now since Gary passed away. We really felt we have all these songs that were written during all those years that he was with us." "And we have about — oh my gosh — maybe two dozen either finished, unfinished, half finished, whatever songs laying around that he was part of. It's kind of interesting to hear these old tapes and stuff with Gary talking in the background and all of us laughing and having a lot of fun. Even Hughie Thomasson  is in them. So, fast forward, it's been brought to our attention, we're gonna be able to record a Skynyrd record. And I hope that after this tour, Skynyrd will get busy and we'll lock into it and see what we get done," Rickey Medlocke said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQjQrYWrtFwThe post Rickey Medlocke says Lynyrd Skynyrd might record a new album appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

Joe Perry says Aerosmith might record new music

Aerosmith announced their farewell tour but the band had to postpone their tour dates due to Steven Tyler's health issues. While the singer was recovering, the guitarist Joe Perry toured with his solo band and the supergroup Hollywood Vampires. Now, in an interview with Rock Candy magazine, Perry said that there is a possibility of Aerosmith recording new music someday. Their most recent studio album is "Music From Another Dimension!" released in 2012. Joe Perry says Aerosmith might record new music "There's definitely a possibility. I know that Steven has got some stuff in his back pocket, so we'll see. I'm currently writing stuff for a new Hollywood Vampires album, but after that… What we are definitely doing is remixing some of the early Aerosmith stuff and finding some interesting outtakes, so it'll be fun to look at that stuff." During the same conversation, Perry recalled how scared they were that Steven Tyler maybe would never recover his voice again. "It was pretty heavy. Imagine being told that you might not ever do it again. It all can be taken away so easily," Joe Perry said. Nowadays the band is formed by Steven Tyler (Vocals), Joe Perry (Guitar), Tom Hamilton (Bass), Brad Whitford (Guitar) and John Douglas (Touring drummer). The original drummer Joey Kramer is not a member of the band when they are touring since his wife passed away. Aerosmith was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970. It didn’t take long for them to be one of the most successful bands in the world. In more than five decades, they had ups and downs but they always came back stronger releasing really powerful hits. That consistency made them become one of the best-selling acts in the history of music. They have sold an estimated amount of more than 150 million records worldwide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7lCZ0rpH3o&pp=ygUhaXQgY291bGQgaGF2ZSBiZWVuIGxvdmUgYWVyb3NtaXRoThe post Joe Perry says Aerosmith might record new music appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

The musician whom Brian May called a “Guitar God”

The musician whom Brian May called a “Guitar God”

Brian May was born in Hampton Hill, Middlesex, England back in 1947 and started his musical career still back in the 60s, when he was a teenager. After being in the band Smile with the drummer Roger Taylor, they went on to form Queen alongside Freddie Mercury and John Deacon, becoming one of the best-selling bands of all time. Their line-up was the same for 20 years until Freddie's passing in 1991 at the age of 45. May's guitar playing was crucial to the band's sound and he inspired countless artists. Over the decades he talked about many of his peers and even said who, in his opinion, is a guitar God. The musician whom Brian May called a "Guitar God" The Queen guitarist and co-founder was elected back in 2020 by a poll organized by Total Guitar, the greatest guitar player of all time. Although he was happy about the votes he received, he didn't agree that he was the best one in history. In an interview with the magazine, May mentioned many other players he admired, including Pete Townshend. He praised The Who's guitarist and main songwriter as being a guitar God. "I’d seen feedback, I’d seen Pete Townshend – again, wow! Pete Townshend’s a god of guitar and always will be! I’d seen him stand there and let the guitar explode into life on its own," Brian May said. The Queen member had always been a huge fan of The Who and had the chance to see the band performing live in their prime, when he wasn't a famous artist yet. In an interview with BBC radio 2 (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage) in 2019, Brian May talked about the year of 1969, when he was 22. One of the high points of that year, according to him, was to go and see The Who playing live. “They came from Shepherd’s Bush. Very much a local phenomenon for us and we used to go and see them. Rog(er Taylor) and me. It was about the most dangerous concert you could ever go to. Because you never knew if they would turn up, to start with.” Brian May continued: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbtAmHlqYmg “And when they did turn up it was mayhem let loose. It was just so loud, dangerous and anarchic, I guess. This was long before Punk. So I think The Who kind of wrote the recipe for Punk, if you like. So they played local to us and we went to see them a lot. We followed them, we loved them. They ripped out the rulebook,” Brian May said. Brian May had the chance to share the stage later on with some The Who members. The first one was the bassist John Entwistle, with whom he performed in 1985 at a New Orleans night Club in Louisiana, United States. They were simply accompanied on stage that night by the guitarist Eddie Van Halen. Then in 1992, The Who's vocalist Roger Daltrey was part of the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. He performed the track "I Want It All" with Queen and the guitarist Tony Iommi. The post The musician whom Brian May called a “Guitar God” appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

UNFIT To Lead: Internet Warrior Exposes Kamala Harris’s “Antics” During Her Time As A Senator

The following article, UNFIT To Lead: Internet Warrior Exposes Kamala Harris’s “Antics” During Her Time As A Senator, was first published on Conservative Firing Line. (Natural News) For social media platform X user Amalia C. Halikias, doubting if Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential election bid would be a success is very valid as she pointed to the Democratic Party’s official flag bearer’s introduced and sponsored legislation while she was still a senator. “The next time someone implies you’re a bigot … Continue reading UNFIT To Lead: Internet Warrior Exposes Kamala Harris’s “Antics” During Her Time As A Senator ...
