Maybe they did have similar taste in music after all? Last week, Morgan Wallen released his fourth studio album I’m The Problem, and it seems as though exes Zach Bryan and Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry have the same favorite tune, which also happens to be Morgan’s favorite on the album, a song called “I Got Better.” Zach shared the song on Instagram the day it was released, and we’ll get to what Brianna did in a second, but first, you need to know some background about these three. Back when Brianna was first started dishing on her tumultuous relationship with Zach via her BFF’s podcast, she recalled an alleged fight they had over country music’s other mega star in Morgan, who was coming off the highest-selling country tour of all-time last year with his One Night At A Time World Tour, and scored #1 hits all year long on both country and Top 40 charts. From what Bri said on the BFF’s podcast, it sounded like that bothered Zach, which is fair to a certain extent, but he seemingly took it to an entirely new level, being upset Bri had Morgan’s smash hit “Last Night” stuck in her head one morning after scrolling past the song in a TikTok video… She alleges that she walked up the stairs at their NYC apartment one morning singing a line from it, and it turned into “a fight for a week.” Bri recalled Zach telling her that he couldn’t believe she would be “singing another man’s song under my roof, in this house, that I own,” saying he “freaked the f*** out” over it: “One morning, we were out the night before, and one morning I woke up and I was scrolling TikTok, and ‘Last night, we let the liquor talk,’ was stuck in my head. And I walk up the stairs in the New York apartment, and I’m singing, I’m about to make breakfast or something like that… he freaked the f*** out.  Like, freaked the f*** out. He could not believe, ‘You’re singing another man’s song under my roof, in this house, that I own.’ It was a fight for, I think, a week. It’s a Morgan Wallen song. I don’t know…” Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy, who used to co-host the podcast, was a little confused about why Zach was bothered about that song in particular, wondering if there was specific beef between the two country stars he didn’t know about, but I think the other co-host Josh Richards summed it up perfectly, explaining: “I think he really doesn’t like Morgan Wallen. I think he hates Morgan Wallen. I think he feels inferior to Morgan Wallen.” Bri then also told the guys that she “wasn’t really allowed” to listen to wildly popular folk pop singer Noah Kahan either, who Zach previously called “a friend” after he missed one of the shows at Fenway Park that Noah headlined, where he supposedly going to be the “surprise guest”: “I also, I was not really allowed to listen to Noah Kahan. I listened to him too much.” So basically, it sounds like Zach was sensitive about her listening to other artists he saw as competition, or he was jealous because they were other men, or maybe… Brianna is a total liar and a fraud. But either way, it seems like he’s moved on and now he’s a Morgan Wallen fan to some degree? Who knows… But Bri certainly didn’t miss the chance to take another thinly-veiled shot at her ex by posting a video on TikTok looking stunning, with Morgan’s song “I Got Better” in the background just days after Zach shared it: @ihatebriannachickenfry♬ I Got Better – Morgan Wallen Of course, she got tons of reaction from her fans online, with many of them pointing out her particular song choice and how she didn’t miss the chance to seemingly shade her ex: “Songs hit different when you’re actually allowed to listen to them huh?” “Wait…. Hear me out…. Bri & Morgan.” “I think it would be iconic for you to chill with Morgan.” “Yessss sing that Morgan Wallen tune!” “I’ll always love you using a Morgan Wallen song.” “Song choice.” “Yessss love this especially with knowing the lore.” “She got better. He pretended he did. I knew I’d see you post this song after he did. Bri did it better.” “When you finally can listen to Morgan without a pest in your ear.” “It’s like he wrote that for you!” “Tbh I was waiting for this one – queen.” “He beat you to it sis lmao.” “This one was written for you Bri!” “This is diabolical hahahahaha.” As much as Brianna fans are here for the shade, her whole personality since the breakup has been exactly that… the breakup. I know you allegedly turned down all that NDA money and now you gotta get your money’s worth to make up for it, but move on already, girl. You wanna be known as Zach Bryan’s ex your whole life? Let’s pump the brakes here… There’s never going to be another Dolly Parton. The country and cultural legend first appeared on the Grand Ole Opry back in 1959 at the age of 13 years old, and since then has become the most successful woman in country music history and one of the last few universally beloved figures in the world. From her music to her Dollywood theme park and her many other business ventures to her charitable causes and philanthropy, Dolly is a true cultural icon in every sense of the word. It’s hard to even think of a modern-day comparison for Dolly. Sure, there are still a few legends left with us. But when it comes to an heir apparent, somebody who could fill Dolly’s shoes, there’s nobody who really comes to mind. But apparently, some people think the new Dolly Parton is… Taylor Swift? During an episode of the Duck Call Room podcast, which features stars of the hit A&E television show Duck Dynasty including Uncle Si Robertson, Justin Martin and more, the hosts were discussing with guest John Crist who the “new” Dolly Parton is…and somebody suggested that it was the pop superstar. Now, I kind of get where the comparisons between Swift and Dolly are coming from. Both have transcended music to become cultural phenomenons in ways that other popular artists haven’t. But Uncle Si wasn’t standing for Taylor Swift being called the modern-day Dolly Parton: “No. No. Taylor Swift ain’t even in Dolly Parton’s league. I know she’s got the money but hey, she ain’t the person. She ain’t got the personality. That’s my humble opinion.” Si sticking up for Dolly. Love to see it. And I’ve gotta agree with him here. A big part of the reason Dolly’s so universally beloved is because of her personality. She’s a warm, motherly figure who loves everybody and practices what she preaches. And sure, Swifties love Taylor and will argue what a good person she is like they’re best friends with her personally, but she’s also divisive in a way that Dolly isn’t. Taylor doesn’t have the universal appeal that Dolly does, no matter how much success she’s had. Another name that the group mentioned as the new Dolly was someone from their neck of the woods down in Louisiana: New country superstar Lainey Wilson. Of course it’s (very) premature to call Lainey the next Dolly Parton, but she does seem to have more of the personality like Dolly (and of course the accent). But at the end of the day, I don’t think there’s ever going to be another universally beloved icon like Dolly Parton. She’s one of one, a phenomenon that’s never going to be replicated thanks not only to her personality but also her unmatched business sense that’s allowed her to transcend country music in a way that few are able to do. Luckily, we don’t have to worry about who’s going to be the next Dolly Parton – because we’ve still got the original, and hopefully we’ll have her for a long time to come.
