10-12 FOOT TALL BIGFOOT Shrouded in Heavy Fog, Vanishes in Rural Tennessee

Mike, an ex-military man, was on his front porch in rural Tennessee on a bright and sunny day when he heard a loud roar/growl. The next day, he observed what made the sound. “I woke before dawn. We had a storm that night and there was a heavy fog everywhere. It was just starting to get light, and I stepped out my door and looked across the street to the pond. The fog was swirling around and coming off the pond. As I looked at the far edge of the pond, a creature stood up. It was 10 to 12 feet tall and had a conical-shaped head. There were long arms that went to its knees and covered in fog, like it was sticking to it. It was thin for its size. It looked at me but I couldn't make out many features due to the fog. Then it turned and took three huge steps, at least 8-foot strides, and vanished. I know what I saw but I haven't told many people about it.”Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_471iB3Sxc4**********WEIRDEST OF THE WEIRD 3 - CHILLING ENCOUNTERS! | LIVE CHAT | Q & A (REAL EYEWITNESS REPORTS!)PHANTOMS & MONSTERS VIDEO LIBRARYPOLL: WHAT DO YOU THINK? Ohio Deer Hunter SAVED BY 'ANGELS' After Shotgun Accident?

Ohio Deer Hunter SAVED BY 'ANGELS' After Shotgun Accident?

On the opening day of deer hunting season in Ohio, on November 26, 1984, Kyle Maynard was out with his parents, his younger brother (Sam), and a family friend (Joe). At around 5:26 PM, the friend, a Vietnam veteran, accidentally discharged his 12-gauge shotgun which he thought was unloaded.“[It] hit me perfectly in the right knee and removed the lower part of my leg from my knee down,” Maynard recalled. Using his belt, he managed to wrap the wound to hinder the flow of blood, while the friend picked him up on his back and carried him to the clearing under the power lines."We finally reached the clearing when Joe laid me down and two people walked up and to this day, we don't know who they were or where they came from. The man said he was a doctor and the lady said she was an RN and they just happened to be in the area bird watching when they heard all the yelling. We were 2.5 miles from anything and nobody had permission to be there and nobody in the right mind would be bird-watching during the opening day of gun season in Ohio. Those two people came out of the woods and, believe me, it's not the easiest place to walk in. It's either straight up or straight down with tons of green briers and honeysuckle thickets.”Maynard believes that what happened next was a miracle. “While laying under that power line, I died. I lost over 5 and a half units of blood and nobody that was there could explain what happened next. They said I stopped breathing and my eyes rolled back in my head. I died I'm not sure what happened or how it happened but I remember looking down and seeing my body and all the commotion. I guess you'd call it an out-of-body experience, I don't know. I can only relay what I remember and what I was told later. Everyone that was on the scene by this time, my parents, Sam, and Joe were all there, and they said that those people put their hands on my chest, and when they did my eyes opened and I started breathing again but they didn't do any chest compressions or any type of CPR and I started breathing.”The brother and the mother drove to a nearby house where they were about to call for a care-flight helicopter. Maynard always liked to wear a hat and he remembered, despite being gravely wounded, actually raising a fuss about his hat. One of the figures, the doctor, offered him his hat, which Maynard accepted and put on.To this day, Maynard keeps it locked in a safe in his home. “I spent the next 1.5 years in recovery I have a leg with no knee my right leg is fused straight I have 27 pins and 41 screws and a stainless steel rod from my groin to my ankle and I've had 57 surgeries because of that one accident.”Looking back, Maynard believes the two beings that assisted him were angels.Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGGlFU5UoNo**********WEIRDEST OF THE WEIRD 3 - CHILLING ENCOUNTERS! | LIVE CHAT | Q & A (REAL EYEWITNESS REPORTS!)PHANTOMS & MONSTERS VIDEO LIBRARYPOLL: WHAT DO YOU THINK? Is The FULL MOON An Accessory To CRIME & CRAZINESS?

The LUNAR EFFECT is a pseudoscientific theory that overlaps with sociology, psychology, and physiology suggesting that there is a correlation between specific stages of the Earth's lunar cycle and deviant behavior in human beings. The claims of a correlation of lunar phases to human behavior do not hold up under scientific scrutiny.Across the centuries, many a person have uttered the phrase “There must be a full moon out there” in an attempt to explain weird happenings at night. Indeed, the Roman goddess of the moon bore a name that remains familiar to us today: Luna, the prefix of the word “lunatic.” Greek philosopher Aristotle and Roman historian Pliny the Elder suggested that the brain was the “moistest” organ in the body and thereby most susceptible to the pernicious influences of the moon, which triggers the tides. Belief in the “lunar lunacy effect,” or “Transylvania effect,” as it is sometimes called, persisted in Europe through the Middle Ages, when humans were widely reputed to transmogrify into werewolves or vampires during a full moon."Western lore has long suggested a relationship between the phases of the moon and various forms of aberrant, antisocial, deviant, and criminal human conduct," begins the Journal of Criminal Justice study led by criminologist Joseph Schafer of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. "Policing, crime, and criminal justice have not been immune from speculation concerning the lunar-crime relationship."Police frequently have complained about crime's rising during a full moon, the study authors note. So have scholars, such as in a 1972 American Journal of Psychiatry report that found murders peaked around Miami over 15 years during the full moon. The same report looked at 13 years of murders in an Ohio county, finding no lunar effect. So it has gone for full moon malice, with a few studies finding a mixed effect on crimes. Overall in the last four decades, most found no lunar link to suicides and homicides, as well as "prison escapes," "hospital admissions for dog bite injuries," and "aggression among ice hockey players," according to the study.Still, "research has shown that belief in lunar effects continued to be strong, including among police officers, and tended to be associated with beliefs in other paranormal phenomena," write Schafer and colleagues. Many of the past studies found weak or no effects suffered from defects ranging from limited data, weak statistics, and even disagreement on lunar phases, raising the possibility the cops are just more observant than criminologists give them credit for. "Officers have the benefit of directly observing the aftermath of criminal incidents; their experiences may provide them with unique insights into lunar effects," says the study, "or police culture may simply perpetuate false beliefs about lunar effects."So, to find out, the study team looked at San Antonio, Tex., from 2001 to 2005, a city of more than a million people for which exhaustive crime data is available. The team crunched nightly crime data, noting rain, daylight, indoor vs. outdoor locations, and other environmental effects unaccounted for in past efforts. Murder happens too rarely in San Antonio to give a statistical signal, so the team looked at assaults, burglary, theft, drugs and vice crimes, traffic crimes, and "other disturbances," totaling about 130,000 incidents a year."It is the very error of the moon," wrote Shakespeare in Othello. "She comes more near the earth than she was wont, And makes men mad."Maybe in Venice, but not in San Antonio, the study concludes. "Substantive lunar effects on crime were not found in the data analyzed here," says the report. "Although popular culture, folklore, and even certain occupational lore suggested the 'freaks' come out during full moons, this phenomenon was not reflected in San Antonio police data as used here."Instead, weekends and warm weather were linked to crime, as you might expect. Winter and rain decreased crimes, except in the city's Riverwalk entertainment district, home to bars, hotels, convention facilities, shops, and theaters, where the level of crime was the same regardless of conditions. The only slight effects of a full moon were a small increase in burglaries citywide, and a drop in vice arrests in the Riverwalk center, at the same time. Neither was statistically convincing. But while the crime data don't show any lunar effects, that doesn't mean people aren't weirder during a full moon, the study authors acknowledge, something unlikely to come across in the dry language of a police report. After all, the belief that the moon affects human behavior is "deeply entrenched in popular belief," write Robert Bartholomew and Hilary Evans in the "Lunar Influences" entry of Outbreak, the Encyclopedia of Extraordinary Social Behavior. The Roman physician Galen, one of the "fathers of medicine," claimed that epileptic fits were triggered by the moon in the 2nd Century. Disturbed patients in London were flogged during the full moon in the 18th century to halt their expected violence."Whether or not the lunar effect has any biological basis, the belief in it may be associated with popular practices," concludes the encyclopedia. "The Moon's phases could thus be a contributing or enabling factor in extraordinary social behavior, whether directly, by affecting people en masse, or indirectly, by affecting especially susceptible individuals."Full Moon Madness - Old Farmer's AlmanacAs the full moon shines bright over Earth tomorrow night, people on the planet may go a little crazy, or so some believe. Having long-held mystery and intrigue, the full moon has been blamed for causing a sudden increase in crime, psychotic behaviors, and accidents. Nineteenth-century lawyers in England would even argue their clients were “guilty because of the full moon” and should therefore not be held accountable for their “lunatic” actions. Is there any truth to this lunar lunatic theory? If you ask a policeman or hospital worker, you will most likely get an answer in the affirmative followed by stories of crowded jails and busy emergency rooms on moonlit nights. One study conducted in Dade County, Florida, even seemed to support the plausibility of this legend, stating their research showed an increase in the murder rate during full moons. However, the study was later proven flawed, and when the data was reanalyzed, no conclusive evidence was found. And this seems to be the pattern for several other studies as well, none of which show any linkage between human behavior and the full moon.So how you do explain this perpetual myth that so many swear by? Some say it could be simply due to the fact people are looking for a connection. When weird behavior occurs under a full moon, it’s easy to blame it on the moon, whereas when odd things happen throughout the rest of the month, we don’t really think about it.While there seems to be little scientific evidence to support the full-moon lunacy lore, there will always be those who will argue otherwise. You can decide for yourself as the next full moon rises!Sources:usatoday.comscientificamerican.comMerriam-Webster.comen.wikipedia.orgfarmersalmanac.com**********WEIRDEST OF THE WEIRD 3 - CHILLING ENCOUNTERS! | LIVE CHAT | Q & A (REAL EYEWITNESS REPORTS!)PHANTOMS & MONSTERS VIDEO LIBRARYPOLL: WHAT DO YOU THINK? FLYING WINGED HUMANOID Reported by Hoffman Estates, Illinois Eyewitness

After the airing of 'The Mothman Revisited' episode in Season 4 of 'Unsolved Mysteries,' the producers collected reports from the viewers and forwarded the information to us.The witnesses are being contacted to establish and confirm details of the sightings/encounters. If further information is received, it will be added to the report. We have received worldwide inquiries as well. The incidents specifically reported in the Chicagoland region can be found on the Chicago / Lake Michigan Winged Humanoid Regional Interactive Map.The original reports with details later added by the witness:"It was like between spring and summer, possibly early June 2024, in the early morning around 5:50 AM just as it was getting light. I was driving east on Bode Rd and stopped at a red light to turn left onto Barrington Rd in the town of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. I am located about 30 minutes from O'Hare International Airport. I was heading to work. When I stopped at the red light, I swear that I saw right in front of my position a large animal or human-like being with wings flying in a straight line at a height of about 150 meters or less. I managed to look at the part of its face. I followed its flight as I looked out the windows to my right, then left. I continued to watch it in my rearview mirror and watched it disappear into a grove of trees in the park.In my mind, at the time, it looked like a flying horse because of its long legs. But after watching the entire 'The Mothman Revisited' documentary on Unsolved Mysteries I can now say that it was, without a doubt, the Mothman." Georgina C.NOTE: The Hoffman Estates, Illinois area has previously witnessed a winged humanoid and another unknown cryptid sighting, posted at humanoid owl seen in October 2019 by a couple, and also a tall, white-grayish bipedal creature that frightens a family in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Epistemology, But Make It Magic: On Jedediah Berry’s The Naming Song

Books book review Epistemology, But Make It Magic: On Jedediah Berry’s The Naming Song A review of Jedediah Berry’s new fantasy novel By Tobias Carroll | Published on October 29, 2024 Comment 0 Share New Share What if the very act of studying something could have magical ramifications? That question has informed books as stylistically diverse as R.F. Kuang’s Babel, Felix Gilman’s The Half-Made World, and Alex Pheby’s Cities of the Weft trilogy. Now, with The Naming Song, Jedediah Berry had offered up his own take on what a world where understanding something forever transforms it. I’m going to take a quick moment here to say that this is an especially challenging review to write. More than most books I’ve discussed in this space, part of the appeal of Berry’s novel is figuring out precisely how this world works, and certain details don’t come to the forefront until later on in the book. Unfortunately, discussing what’s most interesting about this novel, as well as its flaws, requires some recounting of those plot points. All of which is to say: Spoilers follow. The Naming Song is set in a world that could be called post-apocalyptic, though the nature of that apocalypse is ambiguous. A few stories have endured from the pre-apocalyptic times—which is to say, from our own world—and, as in Gene Wolfe’s The Book of the New Sun, there’s a certain pleasure that comes from parsing out how some familiar stories are remembered in this new landscape. The act that ended the old world, the Silence, eradicated all words from the human landscape. This didn’t just end society as we know it; it also, at least temporarily, removed the concepts of sex and gender. And the setting is at a strange technological level, with several prominent railroads factoring into the plot along with more futuristic flying machines. Here, too, the act of naming something can alter it, from the routes the novel’s protagonist takes to escape her enemies to the occasionally hidden compartments and cars on the aforementioned railroads. When we’re introduced to our protagonist, a nameless woman known as “the courier,” it’s in the context of her work, which is to say: delivering new words to the world around her. In doing so, Berry also reveals much about the way this world is governed, and why the courier’s work is important: Her committee employed diviners to find the words in their quiet chambers, using tools and methods known only to them. Couriers to deliver the words into the world. Committee pages to add the words to the next broadsheet, to print and carry copies to every place with a name. To Whisper, home of the sayers. To Hollow, the largest city of the named, with its booming factories. To Tooth in the Well-Named Mountains, and to Tortoise on the shore of the lake. To the cities built on top of cities from before; to the towns cobbled long ago from the nameless nothing; to the new towns on the borders, where settlers waited anxiously for words, because words were a better defense against those for whom the watchers watched than all their guns and palisades. Gradually, we learn more, about the place of nameless people in this world, about the courier’s own personal history, about her periodic relationship with a diviner named Beryl, and one of the other properties of this world: that people can create monsters from the act of dreaming. The courier is concerned about growing activity among the nameless, which suggests to her that they’re planning some sort of violent action against the power structure of this society. The head of her committee, Book, continues giving her words to deliver, but she becomes aware of something more going on—including secret meetings between Book and Ticket, the courier’s sister. There’s intrigue aplenty here, and that’s before the courier’s dreams bring a monster that resembles her sister to life—and before she goes on the run, one word still remaining to be delivered. Here, humans, monsters, and ghosts are on equal footing; here, too, all are given titles based on the card they’ve drawn from a deck. There’s something tarot-esque about it, albeit with very different suits: Stones, Leaves, Shovels, and Trees. (This is not the first time Berry has ventured into the world of tarot for inspiration.) Her time spent on the rails with them puts certain elements of her own history in a different light, and also reveals new dimensions to the patchwork ghost, an old friend of hers.  There’s one especially noteworthy thread that runs through the book. The courier winds up acquiring an animal companion early in the book, a creature referred to only as “the stowaway.” From its behavior, it seems pretty clear that this is a cat—but that particular word is never used, presumably because that word has not yet been (re)discovered. It’s a small yet elegant way for Berry to convey precisely what living in this world is like. As befits a book about names and recognition, much of The Naming Song abounds with moments of realization and revelation. (The latter is intended in a religious sense as well; this is, in its own way, a creation story and a tale of Original Sin, though it’s not always obvious as such.) And, like a linguist, the courier must think back over the words that she’s delivered and muse on their effects on the world. The whole thing is heady and frequently gripping—palace intrigue plus long-buried secrets plus a setting that feels genuinely new, all with a defiant and forceful character at its heart. There is a lot to like and admire about The Naming Song. And besides the ways in which Berry blends a high-concept setting with a thrilling narrative, there’s also the ambition that’s clearly at work here: Berry has clearly spent a lot of time thinking about how language shapes the way humans encounter the world and how that could make for a compelling story. Here’s where it gets a little thornier. Early in the book, Berry supplies a list of characters, including a few described as ghosts and monsters. The ghosts do seem to be, well, ghosts; at one point, a supporting character dies and his ghost appears, still a tactile presence but seemingly deprived of the ability to speak. As the novel continues, Berry reveals more about the lot of ghosts in this world, including the fact that the authoritarian villains burn them for fuel and that they can be bought and sold. There’s also a secretive movement devoted to getting the ghosts to safety, far from the oppressive society that seeks their enslavement or destruction. Reading this, it seemed as though Berry was looking to establish the ghosts as a metaphorical stand-in for oppressed groups; the aforementioned rescue efforts seemed to evoke both the Underground Railroad and the Kindertransport, which felt like a really big swing on Berry’s part. Still, if you’re writing about the sheer power of language, the role that it can have in denying people their own humanity is certainly on the table. (Magnus Mills’s Explorers of the New Century does this in an exquisitely chilling manner.) But at the end of the day, that isn’t quite what Berry is up to here. For all of the powerful metaphorical imagery Berry has put on the table, these ghosts are, at the end of the day, ghosts. There is a payoff, but it zeroes in on a very different element of ghosts’ presence in this world. That Berry doesn’t do more with some of the metaphorical baggage he’s accumulated here is somewhat frustrating—but in a novel with as many big ideas as this one, it isn’t unexpected to see some get less developed than others. The Naming Song has big ambitions, a compelling protagonist, and an immersive world; all of those qualities make it eminently discoverable.[end-mark] The Naming Song is published by Tor Books.
