President Trump Might Impound $300B from the Climate Scam

President Trump temporarily halted federal spending that Congress has authorized, known as impoundment, through an Executive Order. President Donald Trump signed an executive order temporarily blocking funds that Congress has already authorized. This included signature Biden plans on infrastructure and climate change. Trump and his allies have argued he can impound the funds. However, critics […] The post President Trump Might Impound $300B from the Climate Scam appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Trump Calls Out Mayor Bass During Live Presser, Community Members Back Him Up

President Donald Trump called out Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, a Democrat, during a roundtable discussion on Friday about the devastating wildfires that killed 28 people and destroyed more than 16,200 structures. Trump ripped Bass for not exercising her emergency powers effectively to cut red tape and help residents rebuild as quickly as possible. “You have emergency powers, just like I do, and I’m exercising my emergency powers,” Trump told the mayor. “You have to exercise them also.” “I did exercise them,” Bass responded. “If individuals want to clear out their property, they can.” Members of the Palisades and Eaton communities in attendance at the event shouted from their seats that this was not true. Subsequently, Bass rephrased her statement, saying that, eventually, they will be able to clear out their properties. “You know that you will be able to go back soon,” Bass told the homeowners, who responded by asking when that would be. “I think, within a week,” the mayor replied. Trump reacted by telling Bass that “a week” is actually a long time, considering the fires started back on January 7. Bass justified the delay by citing “safety.” CELEBRATE #47 WITH 47% OFF DAILYWIRE+ MEMBERSHIPS + A FREE $20 GIFT Trump argued that residents are “not safe now” and said he’s been told by homeowners that they can’t get permits to start the rebuilding process for another 18 months. “I watched hundreds of people standing in front of their lots, and they’re not allowed to go in,” Trump said. “It’s all burned. It’s gone, it’s done. Nothing’s going to happen, it’s not going to burn anymore. The people are all over the place, they’re standing and they say, ‘We’re trying to get a permit,’ and the permit is going to take them — everybody said, 18 months.” Residents shouted in agreement with Trump. One female homeowner told the president, “We can’t even see our home right now. We’re blocked from entering our street. The first time we saw our house was yesterday.” Trump was not done laying into California Democrats, however. When Republican Rep. Darrell Issa (CA) told the president that they were going to implement practices to stop future fires, Trump interjected, “Like, water — little things like water,” and turned his attention to Democrat Rep. Brad Sherman (CA). “Brad, we’re the party of common sense. You’re not, in all fairness. We like water to put out fires, it’s really quite efficient.” WATCH: WATCH: President Trump demands that LA’s Democrat Mayor Karen Bass let people back into their homes to start the rebuilding process. Peter Schweizer Floats Theory On Why Biden Really Left The 2024 Race

No president in American history has ever pardoned his family members as he prepared to exit the Oval Office. Until Joe Biden. Now, with Donald Trump’s successful return to the White House, many lawmakers and pundits have questions about Joe Biden’s unprecedented, sweeping pardons. Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley sat down with bestselling author Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute, to discuss Biden’s eleventh-hour moves for an episode of “Morning Wire” that will be released this weekend. Schweizer, who has written several books about the Biden family, including “Blood Money” and “Red-Handed,” began the conversation by stating flatly, “These sort of preemptive pardons are really unprecedented.” With a final stroke of his pen, Biden granted pardons to five of his closest family members: His daughter Ashley Biden, his brother James and his spouse, and his sister Valerie and her spouse. Hunter Biden was pardoned by his father one month earlier, on December 2, 2024. While politicians and pundits speculate and guess the motivation behind this recent round of pardons, Schweizer has an idea. “What’s significant,” says Schweizer, “is all six of these people are individuals who are connected to LLCs, these limited liability companies that the family had multiple listings of.” Not only do the LLCs offer a logical explanation for the sweeping pardons, but Schweizer believes they offer an even bigger clue as to why Joe Biden would finally agree to drop out of the 2024 presidential race. The pardons span a little over a decade, from January 1, 2014, to December 2024, making the time frame even more suspicious. These facts lead Schweizer to speculate that Joe Biden may have cut some kind of backdoor deal before bowing out of the presidential race in July 2024. “I think one of the unanswered questions about the Biden family — and again, if you look at the pardons that were issued to Hunter Biden and the family, they run up specifically through December of last year. So any crimes that would have been committed in 2024 would be covered as well. And you wonder, well, what does that mean? Well, that could be the Hunter Biden art deals that were very controversial,” Schweizer said. “But I also think it’s worth looking at this period when Joe Biden had that disastrous debate performance with Donald Trump, and he spent about four or five weeks refusing to get out of the race, and Hunter Biden moved into the White House,” he added. “I believe – I don’t have evidence to confirm this – I believe that the Biden family negotiated financial deals to secure his exit from that race. Whether that crosses the legal line and is illegal, I don’t know, but I think that is worth looking into as well. It certainly fits their pattern of monetizing things. It certainly makes sense that Hunter Biden was at the center of it – that’s where a lot of this money would flow through. And that would, of course, raise questions about what they might be doing in the post-presidential years and the money they might be living off of in this case.” CELEBRATE #47 WITH 47% OFF DAILYWIRE+ MEMBERSHIPS + A FREE $20 GIFT Schweizer also argued that Biden’s sweeping pardons of his family members could come back to bite the former president, highlighting a point made by attorney Alan Dershowitz earlier this week. Dershowitz said that while Biden’s pardons protect his family from criminal charges, they take away their ability to plead the Fifth Amendment if they are subpoenaed by Congress, The Daily Caller reported. “One of the reasons the president gave [for the pardons] is he doesn’t want his relatives and friends and people who are good people in his view to be subject to the expenses of massive investigation. Duh, you didn’t stop that. Congress can still investigate all these people,” Dershowitz said. “In fact, they’ve lost their Fifth Amendment privilege,” he added. “So, now, if Congress subpoenas them, they have to testify, they can’t claim the Fifth Amendment. So, your brother and all the others can be called in front of the Republican-controlled Senate committee or House committee.” Schweizer acknowledged the critical role Trump’s nominee for attorney general, Pam Bondi, may play in any new investigations into the Biden family business. He told “Morning Wire” that it’s important for Trump’s DOJ to continue looking into the Biden family’s business deals, saying it’s “not about retribution” or “being vindictive.” “It’s simply trying to get clarification and facts of what actually transpired and what these Chinese, Russian, and Ukrainian entities actually got in exchange for sending millions of dollars to Joe Biden’s family,” he said.

Could Ocean Planets Support Life?

There might be a type of exoplanet without dry land. They’re called “Hycean” worlds, a portmanteau of ‘hydrogen’ and ‘ocean.’ They’re mostly or entirely covered in oceans and have thick hydrogen atmospheres, reports universetoday.com. They’re intriguing because their atmospheres keep them warm enough to have liquid water outside of the traditional habitable zones. If they do exist, scientists think they’re good candidates to support microbial life. Hycean worlds are hypothetical, but there is some evidence that they exist. The Kepler mission detected many candidates and provided foundational evidence for their existence. However, it didn’t detect any with certainty. More recently, JWST observations also supported the idea. The space telescope detected carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere of a candidate Hycean world called K2-18b. Both of those molecules can be biosignatures of microbial life under similar conditions as Earth’s oceans. New research published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society examines the potential Hycean worlds hold for the evolution of life and how life might depend on these worlds’ thermodynamic conditions. It’s titled “Prospects for Biological Evolution on Hycean Worlds.” The authors are Emily G Mitchell and Nikku Madhusudhan, both from the University of Cambridge. “The search for extraterrestrial life is one of the most fundamental quests in human history,” the authors write. “An important recent development in this direction is the possibility of Hycean worlds, which increase both the numbers of potentially habitable planets and the ability to detect biosignatures in their atmospheres.” An artist’s illustration of a Hycean World. Research shows that Hycean Worlds can provide both the chemical and the thermodynamic conditions necessary for microbial life to persist in their oceans. In this research, the authors used the metabolic theory of ecology (MTE) to explore how simple life might evolve in Hycean Worlds under different temperature conditions. In simple terms, MTE says that an organism’s metabolic rate is fundamental to its ability to persist and thrive. It applies to individual processes and community and population processes. A key idea behind MTE is that temperature strongly influences metabolic rates. Previous studies show that when temperatures in a habitable environment increase, biological activity increases up to a point. In this research, Mitchell and Madhusudhan investigate how ocean surface temperatures affect Earth-like single-celled life and how long it takes them to originate on Hycean Worlds. They also explore how different temperatures affect the detectability of biosignatures. “This work, in turn, has observable consequences for prominent biosignatures on such planets, considering that unicellular phytoplankton are a major source of key biomarkers in the Earth’s atmosphere, such as dimethyl sulphide, which may be observable in Hycean atmospheres,” the researchers write in their paper. Dimethyl sulphide is strongly linked to phytoplankton and has a unique spectral signature that the JWST can detect in exoplanet atmospheres. The researchers focused on several key phytoplankton groups that are abundant on Earth and produce biosignature gases in its atmosphere. Among them are Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae), Methanococccea (a methanogen), and diatoms, which generate as much as 50% of Earth’s oxygen each year. They paid special attention to Aquificota. Aquificota is a phylum of bacteria named after an early genus in the group Aquifix. Its members are found in fresh water and oceans and can produce water by oxidizing hydrogen. “In order to illustrate how evolutionary rates change with temperature over planetary timescales, we have calculated the evolutionary rates for an example organism (Aquifix) over the last 4.3 billion years,” the paper states. They used Aquifix because it’s a strong analogue for some of Earth’s first life. The researchers showed that even marginal changes in Earth’s ocean surface temperature compared to the surface temperature over evolutionary timescales significantly change the origination time and evolutionary rates of important species of simple life. “For example, a 10 K increase relative to Earth leads to evolutionary rates which are over twice as fast, while a decrease of 10 K halves them,” the authors explain. They found that warmer oceans can accelerate the rate of evolution, allowing key unicellular groups like archaea and bacteria to appear as early as 1.3 billion years after the origin of life. This indicates that higher temperatures drive a faster progression to complex life. “This increased rate has a significant impact on the origination times of unicellular groups such that for an increase of 10K of surface temperature, all of the major groups will have originated by 1.19 Gyr post-Origin of Life (OlL) and all the key phytoplankton groups by 1.28 Gyr,” the authors write. The reverse is also true. The researchers found that cooler temperatures delay the appearance of key lifeforms by up to several billion years. That could mean that complex life takes longer to appear. “In contrast, a decrease of 10K of median surface temperature severely limits the origination rates, such that by 4 Gyr post-OoL, only Bacteria and Archaea will have evolved but not oxygenic photosynthesis or Eukaryotes,” the authors write. In that case, it would also affect the appearance of observable biosignatures, and their intensity and ease of detection. One of their central findings is that only a marginal range of environmental conditions allows for a large range of evolutionary rates and origination times. “First, given the wide range of possible atmospheric conditions in Hycean worlds, an equally wide diversity in microbial life could be expected,” they write. “In particular, the origination of new clades in warm Hycean worlds can happen significantly faster than on Earth.” If Hycean worlds exist, this research suggests that they could be “rippling with life,” as Carl Sagan put it, on shorter timescales than Earth. The candidate Hycean worlds we know of are thought to have warmer oceans than Earth. So, by extension, the candidate Hycean World K2-18 b, which is only 2.4 billion years old, could have the conditions necessary for originating and sustaining key unicellular groups. That means that it, and others like it, are good targets in the search for biosignatures. The authors offer a couple of caveats to their results. They considered only a fairly narrow range of temperature and physical conditions based on Earth. In reality, habitable extraterrestrial planets could exhibit a much wider range. “Future work in this direction could explore a range of other conditions, including the effect of gravity, pressure, larger temperature variations and other environmental factors,” the researchers write in their conclusion. We don’t know if Hycean Worlds are real. Some scientists think that their hydrogen-rich atmospheres might be unstable. There are also concerns about radiation exposure inhibiting life and atmospheric chemistry working against biochemical processes. The formation pathways for these worlds are also unclear, as are the mechanisms for generating and sustaining their atmospheres. However, if they do exist, this study makes one thing clear: For different surface temperatures, a warm planet could have a more complex biosphere at a relatively young age, and a cooler one could have a simpler biosphere at a later age. In the end, we aren’t travelling to any of these worlds, so detecting biosignatures is the name of the game. “Such biospheres with varied levels of complexity can impact the detectability of life on them, such that warmer planets have the potential to show strong atmospheric biosignatures,” the researchers conclude. Pete Hegseth is the latest target in the left-wing media’s war on truth

It’s no secret that legacy media outlets like the New York Times have abandoned any pretense of impartial journalism. But their latest attempt to smear Pete Hegseth — a veteran, father, and conservative voice — takes their hypocrisy to staggering new heights. This isn’t journalism. It’s propaganda dressed up as reporting, and Americans should be outraged. The media’s bias has been clear for years, but stories like this remind us why trust in journalism is at an all-time low. The New York Times just published a piece focused on allegations by Danielle Hegseth, the defense secretary nominee’s former sister-in-law. According to the story, Danielle claims Pete’s second wife, Samantha, feared for her safety during their marriage due to Pete’s allegedly “volatile and threatening” behavior. Yet Samantha Hegseth, the woman supposedly at the center of this story, has completely denied the allegations. In fact, she explicitly asked Danielle to stop speaking on her behalf. But does this matter to the New York Times? Of course not. They’d rather take the word of a former in-law with no direct involvement than that of the person who actually lived through the marriage. Samantha and Pete even signed a legally binding court document in 2021 stating that neither of them was a victim of domestic abuse. Yet, the Times expects you to believe that everyone involved — the couple, their lawyers, and the judge — are all lying. This isn’t about uncovering the truth; it’s about crafting a narrative. It’s a political hit job, plain and simple. The media picks and chooses who they believe based solely on their agenda. If a Democrat like Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, faces misconduct claims, they bury the story or dismiss it outright. But if a conservative is the target, even by the most tenuous connection, it becomes front-page news. This selective outrage is nothing new. During Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings, the corporate left-wing media used the same playbook against him. Leftists don't just target individuals; they go after their families, their reputations, and anyone who dares to defend the target. It’s destruction for the sake of destruction because that’s all leftists know how to do. They can’t build anything. They can’t develop solutions or policies that work. All they know is how to tear down people who stand in the way of their agenda. And in this case, they’re not just attacking Pete Hegseth; they’re insulting Samantha Hegseth, too. By ignoring her words and her legal testimony, they’re painting her as a powerless victim too afraid to stand up for herself. It’s disgusting and patronizing. The media’s bias has been clear for years, but stories like this remind us why trust in journalism is at an all-time low. Americans are waking up to the reality that the press isn’t interested in facts — it's interested in advancing a political agenda. And ironically, this relentless bias may be the very thing fueling the conservative movement’s success. The left’s obsession with destruction, its inability to self-reflect, and its blatant disregard for the truth have driven countless Americans to the other side. It’s probably one of the reasons Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office this week. People are tired of being lied to, tired of seeing good people smeared, and tired of watching the institutions we once trusted devolve into partisan attack machines. Americans are demanding more from their news sources, just as they are demanding better from their government. If the New York Times doesn’t heed this lesson quickly, its bottom line will be the one paying the price, not the Hegseths. Want more from Glenn Beck?
