Democrats recently elected the individuals who will lead the Democratic National Committee during the early days of President Donald Trump’s second term. While party leaders tried to put on a positive display in front of the crowd, there was a much less optimistic tone behind the scenes. The New York Times conducted more than 50 interviews and came to one conclusion, as Brietbart reported: Although many Democrats agree they need to tackle issues that propelled Trump into office, they cannot figure out how to do that: Democrats broadly agree that they need to do more to address the issues that powered Mr. Trump’s campaign, like grocery costs, inflation and immigration. But there is little consensus on how — or even whether — to prioritize the party’s traditional concerns like abortion rights, L.G.B.T.Q. equality and climate change. Not only did President Donald Trump bring a number of bold immigration reform proposals with him when he returned to the White House last month, but he has also empowered other officials to pursue paths toward enhanced border security and immigration law enforcement. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) did exactly that with a bill he and others in the chamber introduced recently that would empower victims of criminal illegal immigrants to sue jurisdictions that refuse to enforce immigration laws. As Breitbart reported: On Thursday, Tillis and nine other Republicans filed S. 185, a bill titled the “Justice for Victims of Sanctuary Cities Act.” “For far too long, we have watched local jurisdictions in North Carolina and across the country ignore the lawful notification and detainer requests made by ICE agents and instead release dangerous criminals back into their communities, putting innocent lives at risk,” Tillis said in a statement. “It is time for Congress to step in and hold sanctuary cities accountable.” Co-sponsor, North Carolina Republican Chuck Edwards, added that it is time to hold sanctuary jurisdictions accountable for the harm sanctuary policies cause the rest of us. “Sanctuary cities have shielded many of the nearly 650,000 criminal illegal immigrants in the United States from facing the consequences for their violent crimes against innocent Americans for too many years. Sanctuary cities cannot continue to jeopardize Americans’ safety without being held accountable for their role in the illegal immigrant crime crisis we are facing today.” Edwards said. Sanctuary city policies have unsurprisingly received a lot of the blame for an illegal immigration population that surged over the course of the past four years. As Reuters reported at the time: In a memo seen by Reuters, Trump’s acting deputy attorney general, Emil Bove, told Justice Department staff that state and local authorities must cooperate with the immigration crackdown and federal prosecutors “shall investigate incidents involving any such misconduct for potential prosecution.” The Justice Department could also challenge laws that complicate the effort, Bove wrote. The policy was issued as the new Republican administration prepared to step up policing of illegal immigration in cities with significant migrant populations, setting up potential confrontations with officials in cities such as New York and Chicago that limit cooperation with such efforts. The new memo underscored how Trump’s Justice Department may try to back his immigration agenda by expanding threats of criminal charges beyond immigrants or those who employ them to city and state officials. It is the latest in a series of executive actions Trump has taken to curb illegal immigration, his top priority. The decision makes Panama the first Latin American country to withdraw from the global infrastructure initiative. Mulino stated that the agreement is set for renewal in the next one to two years, and his government will evaluate the possibility of terminating it earlier. “We’ll study the possibility of terminating it early,” he said. Panama initially joined the initiative in 2017 under a previous administration. “I do not feel that there is any real threat at this time against the (neutrality) treaty, its validity, and much less the use of military force to make the treaty,” Mulino said, adding that it will be important to have face-to-face talks with Trump. The BRI, launched by China in 2013, has served as a key mechanism for Beijing to extend its global economic influence by financing infrastructure projects in various countries. On Thursday, December 26, the rapper allegedly had a breakdown because he couldn’t believe he was still stuck in the MDC prison months after his arrest on sex crime charges. According to the Daily Mail, the rapper had expected to be “out on bail by now” due to the “high-powered legal team” he assembled for his defense. However, the failure of their efforts to secure his release appeared to have taken a toll on him, making “spending the holidays behind bars” a “nightmare.” Whether his “meltdown” a month ago had anything to do with this nighttime hospital visit remains to be seen. The hospital trip, on the other hand, is being corroborated by multiple sources, including law enforcement. Nevertheless, questions are starting to pick back up — is there a narrowing window of opportunity for those potentially facing public exposure to make sure that doesn’t happen? The only reason being put forward for the medical trip is that his knee had been bothering him, resulting in the decision to get an MRI — but as stated, there is no official confirmation on the record, or ability to confirm that excuse. In fact, there has been no official confirmation of the secret trip to the hospital overall. The fact that the hospital was about 10 miles away only adds to the questions in my mind, knowing that any prison facility is going to have its own medical ward with some degree of competency treating many likely ailments. If a needed MRI really was the reason, that would explain the need to transport Diddy to an actual hospital.  But honestly, I’m not buying it. Law enforcement sources have confided that they were alerted to the trip in case the info leaked, and “chaos” ensued, according to a report by the New York Post: Sean “Diddy” Combs was taken to the hospital from a federal lockup in Brooklyn under cover of darkness last week, The Post can reveal. Sources confirmed that he was transported to a nearby hospital about 10 p.m. Thursday to undergo an MRI. The medical scan was authorized because his “knee was bothering him,” citing the rapper’s long history of knee issues after he ran the New York marathon, the source said. The insider added that the hospital visit was done late at night in order to avoid whispers and further speculation from other inmates or prison staffers. A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson told The Post, “For privacy, safety, and security reasons we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for anyone in our custody to include medical status or medical trips.” Law enforcement source said they were given a heads up about what occurred “just in case it was leaked and they would have chaos.” The fact that the transport took place after dark — specifically to keep it secret — is a hard red flag for me to get past. A simple understanding of the person and explosiveness of the case should have rendered it more important to avoid rumors, which could impact that trial itself, rather than attempt to keep it secret in the name of avoiding attention. As usual, we’re left to decide between incompetent decision making versus nefarious deceit. I’m beginning to readily accept both on the standing assumption that statistically that generally gets proven to be the case. Everything else seems suspect and lacks the ability to be confirmed. I, for one, hope he makes it to his court date.  Besides the ultimate release of the Epstein files… that is my next greatest hope regarding the effort to shed light on the corrupt sex trafficking and abuse by high-profile individuals, and the government (CIA…) backed handlers who are likely at the heart of the matter. Will he actually make it to see the start of the court date? That’s another question entirely.

No GOP Senators have stated outright that they will oppose Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination to become President Trump’s Director of National Intelligence. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t hurdles. Senator Susan Collins (total RINO) has been the most discussed possible threat to Tulsi’s confirmation. As a member of the Senate Intel Committee, her vote is considered key.  Assuming the Democrats on the Intel Committee vote against her, Gabbard will need all 9 Republicans on the Intel Committee to green light her if she’s to go before the full Senate with the Intel Committee’s official backing. Mitch McConnell is the other Intel Committee Republican Senator who may or may not side in favor of Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation. But neither have stated that they will vote against her. That leaves Todd Young, the Republican Senator from Indiana, as another potential “No” vote against her from within the powerful Intel Committee. Todd Young as a “great ally” hours after initially accusing him of being a “deep state puppet” on Sunday. Musk, 53, had seemingly erupted against Young (R-Ind.), 52, over his tough questioning of Director of National Intelligence nominee Tulsi Gabbard during her confirmation hearing last week. “Todd Young is a deep state puppet,” Musk chided around noon ET in a since-deleted X post that came in response to a user criticizing Young’s ties to the National Endowment for Democracy, a nongovernmental organization that promotes democracy around the world. The user had suggested Young’s involvement with NED poses conflicts of interest with his forthcoming vote on Gabbard, 43, and claimed that the senator was against her. Young has not publicly committed either way on Gabbard. Some beltway observers quickly surmised that Musk’s attack against Young could complicate efforts to get him to support Gabbard. About two hours later, Musk reversed sources and praised Young. “Just had an excellent conversation with @SenToddYoung. I stand corrected. One possibility is that the rumors simply weren’t true about his intention to object to Gabbard’s nomination, which seems to be the spark that ignited Elon’s anger towards him. That would make sense, even if his intention to back her was a pragmatic play considering her popularity among Trump-supporters and President Trump’s popular election victory. Even if he’s simply playing the game, if his pragmatic political sense is guiding him to confirm Gabbard — that could account for Elon’s change of heart after a personal discussion with the Senator. He is, after all, one of the few lawmakers who could help push Gabbard’s nomination through — according to a report in The Hill: “Just had an excellent conversation with @SenToddYoung. I stand corrected,” Musk posted to his social media platform X. “Senator Young will be a great ally in restoring power to the people from the vast, unelected bureaucracy.” Musk, who has been tapped to lead President Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency,” previously slammed Young over his indecision in confirming Gabbard. In a separate post, Musk called Young a “deep state puppet.” Young, who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee, is a key vote in confirming Gabbard to the position. The senator grilled Gabbard during her hearing last week, expressing concern that she refused to label Edward Snowden as a traitor. He’s one of a few lawmakers who could help push her toward securing the position. While there are no indicators to be sure that the conversation between Elon and Sen. Young even broached the subject of Tulsi Gabbard, there seems to be room to hope that this RINO may be at least willing to step aside and at least not thwart President Trump’s nominee. I don’t think this RINO suddenly ceased being a RINO overnight — or from one phone call with Elon Musk — but, something happened that caused Elon to literally say that he stood “corrected”. As to what initiated that change of stance, I have no idea.  But I have my ears to the rails trying to figure it out.
