A family grieving the death of their 14-year-old cat stepped in to rescue a three-legged cat just days before a shelter planned to put him down. The cat’s new owner‚ David‚ explained to Newsweek that he had to make the devastating decision to put down his beloved pet in February‚ and he and the rest of his family were having a hard time dealing with the loss. But they were more worried about their other cat and knew he needed a new companion. “We knew it was going to be a rough journey for him‚” David explained. “We knew he needed another friend.” So David set out to find the perfect match. He searched the internet and asked his friends and family for advice‚ but he couldn’t hone in on the right cat. When Stewart recovered from his injuries‚ he went up for adoption—but no one was interested. So he was set to be euthanized. Fortunately‚ David took Stewart home the day after meeting him.
