Democrat Governor Will Sign Executive Order Allowing Pharmacists To Administer COVID-19 Jab Without Prescription

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul will sign an executive order allowing New Yorkers to receive a COVID-19 jab at pharmacies within the state without needing a prescription. “Your family is my fight. In the absence of federal leadership, I’m going to make sure New Yorkers can access the COVID-19 vaccine,” Hochul wrote. “If you want your child to have a COVID shot, it should be available to you. And it should be covered by insurance,” Hochul said in a video posted to X. “What I’m doing now is signing an Executive Order, because extreme times call for extreme measures. I don’t understand why you won’t let families have the choice to protect their children’s health,” she continued. Check it out: Your family is my fight. In the absence of federal leadership, I’m going to make sure New Yorkers can access the COVID-19 vaccine. pic.twitter.com/MQRdQ1nphR — Governor Kathy Hochul (@GovKathyHochul) September 5, 2025 “In the wake of relentless uncertainty and political attacks on science coming out of Washington, Governor Hochul is taking action to protect New Yorkers. She will sign an Executive Order allowing pharmacists to prescribe and administer COVID-19 vaccines, so families who want protection can get it quickly, safely, and close to home,” a statement from a spokesperson for Hochul said, according to ABC News. “This temporary order will ensure seamless access while the Governor works with the Legislature on a long-term solution to safeguard access to preventive care and vaccines,” the statement added. For patients 3 years of age or older, the executive order does the following: Allows pharmacists to prescribe and order COVID-19 vaccines. Authorizes pharmacists to administer vaccines. Allows physicians and nurse practitioners to either prescribe or give general orders for pharmacies to administer COVID-19 vaccines. A new Executive Order from @GovKathyHochul will allow pharmacists in New York to prescribe, order, and give the 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccines. New Yorkers will not need a prescription from a doctor to get the updated vaccine. Learn more: https://t.co/OLXf0Fxetf pic.twitter.com/OtQ7qtDDBU — nychealthy (@nycHealthy) September 5, 2025 More from ABC News: On Thursday during his hearing, Kennedy claimed that anyone can get COVID-19 vaccines at their pharmacy for free, however, pharmacies are being selective due to the limbo of federal regulations. The FDA has approved the updated shots for only older and high-risk Americans, and the CDC vaccine panel is set to meet to discuss potential recommendations in a few weeks. Amid the regulatory uncertainty, some pharmacies have said that access to the shots may vary state-by-state and may require a prescription. “By signing this EO, Governor Hochul is making it clear that when Washington Republicans play politics with public health, New Yorkers will still be able make their own health care decisions and get the care they need from trusted providers in their community,” Governor Hochul’s spokesperson said. Last week, CVS limited the availability of COVID-19 jabs to patients in 16 states and the District of Columbia. CVS Limits Availability Of COVID-19 Jab In Over A Dozen States The 16 states affected were Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. previously announced the emergency use authorization for the COVID-19 jab was “rescinded.” Emergency Use Authorization For COVID-19 Jab “Rescinded,” RFK Jr. Says “In a series of FDA actions today we accomplished all four goals. The emergency use authorizations for Covid vaccines, once used to justify broad mandates on the general public during the Biden administration, are now rescinded,” RFK Jr. explained. “FDA has now issued marketing authorization for those at higher risk: Moderna (6+ months), Pfizer (5+), and Novavax (12+). These vaccines are available for all patients who choose them after consulting with their doctors,” he continued. “The American people demanded science, safety, and common sense. This framework delivers all three,” he added. I promised 4 things: 1. to end covid vaccine mandates. 2. to keep vaccines available to people who want them, especially the vulnerable. 3. to demand placebo-controlled trials from companies. 4. to end the emergency. In a series of FDA actions today we accomplished… — Secretary Kennedy (@SecKennedy) August 27, 2025 The New York Times shared additional details: The precise language of the executive order had not been finalized by late Thursday afternoon, but it would authorize pharmacists to administer Covid vaccines to anyone over 3 years of age, without a prescription, according to an administration official. A spokeswoman for CVS said that in New York, its pharmacists would for now require a prescription before administering the latest Covid vaccine. “Right now, we can only administer the updated Covid-19 vaccine to patients — regardless of age — if they have a prescription from an authorized prescriber (that includes 65+),” the CVS Health spokeswoman, Amy Thibault, wrote in an email. It was not clear how the governor’s order would affect the company’s stance. In an interview, Brad Hutton, a former state health official, said it remained to be seen to what degree insurance plans would cover vaccinations administered by pharmacists.

When a Car Comes out of the Woods & Flies Through the Air in Front of You

You might want to go to Instagram to see the original video – the driver’s dashcam caught the action. His reaction is priceless. As he drove East, a car flew almost over his head from a parallel road running alongside the Sunrise Highway in Bayshore, Long Island, across six lanes of traffic, nosediving into the […] The post When a Car Comes out of the Woods & Flies Through the Air in Front of You appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

EXCLUSIVE: Ed Department to Probe More Universities That Conceal Funding Received From Foreign Adversaries

FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—The Education Department will undertake more investigations into universities that fail to accurately disclose funding from foreign adversaries, a senior Department of Education official told The Daily Signal. President Donald Trump’s Department of Education has already launched investigations into Harvard, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Michigan, and the University of Pennsylvania for what it says are untimely and inaccurate foreign financial disclosures, in violation of Section 117 of the Higher Education Act. But there’s only a 40% compliance rate among universities, so the Education Department plans to conduct further investigations. All top recipients of federal research dollars should be on notice, the official said. There is a direct pipeline between hostile foreign governments and American universities. But the foreign country giving the most money to universities to access American research is China. Under the Biden administration, very little was done to protect U.S. research from being used to benefit adversaries abroad, the official said. Students from foreign adversaries, such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, pose a very clear national security threat, the senior official said. That’s in line with Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statement in May that he planned to “aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields.” The president said last month that he would allow 600,000 Chinese students into American universities. The White House clarified that Trump wasn’t proposing an increase in student visas, but that the 600,000 referred to two years’ worth of visas. “It’s simply a continuation of existing policy,” a White House official explained. The official said there should be a whole of government effort to properly track the access to federally funded research that students from countries of concern have. U.S. government agencies can coordinate to counteract countries of concern, including China, according to the official. Universities are required to timely and accurately report foreign gifts and contracts over $250,000 from any country to the Education Department. The department can then share that information with other federal agencies, particularly grant-making agencies for research, such as the Department of Defense, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Health and Human Services, and NASA.  Those agencies can then compare the records the Education Department collects about foreign involvement at the universities with the frequently inaccurate or incomplete information submitted in applications for grants. Chinese students are often required by law to share the research and technology expertise they gather with the Chinese government and military, the official said. In one case detailed in the department’s recent report on protecting universities from foreign influence, an American aerospace engineering professor at a university in Michigan accepted a Chinese student’s request to study with him. It was later revealed that the student was associated with a college for China’s military officers and pressured the professor to share sensitive information about his work to use it for military satellite applications. Universities that are funded by foreign adversaries often allow that to influence their decision-making, according the official. Foreign governments use donations to get sought-after lab seats in Ivy League science, technology, engineering, and math programs. Universities funded by Middle Eastern adversaries have often been hesitant to condemn antisemitic, anti-Israel activity.  By enforcing the Higher Education Act, the Trump administration has reminded universities of their accountability to their biggest donor—the American taxpayer, the official told The Daily Signal. The Department of Education’s threats to universities’ taxpayer funding send the message not to take the American people’s money for granted anymore, the official said. CBS Hails Judge Rebuking DC Crime Crackdown, Ignores Intern Murder Suspects Arrested

CBS Hails Judge Rebuking DC Crime Crackdown, Ignores Intern Murder Suspects Arrested

Like ABC and NBC, CBS’s Friday evening and Saturday morning newscasts ignored the arrest of multiple juveniles in Washington, D.C. for the murder of congressional intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym. Unlike ABC and NBC, CBS Saturday Morning’s omission bias was made worse by the fact that Justice Correspondent Scott MacFarlane chose to hype a magistrate judge’s rebuke of the Trump Administration’s crime crackdown efforts instead. Co-host Michelle Miler introduced MacFarlane, “The president deployed troops to Washington, D.C. last month, but now there's also new controversy stemming from how the Justice Department is handling a surge of arrests and cases in the capital. CBS News Justice Correspondent Scott Macfarlane explains from Washington.”     After reporting that the D.C. National Guard will be extending its deployment, MacFarlane unintentionally undermined the hysterical idea, prevalent in certain left-wing circles, that D.C. is now under military occupation, “Some of them are armed, but the Guard is not making arrests. That's left to local and federal agents on the street.” However, MacFarlane had some criticisms for the feds, “As the weekend begins, the Department of Justice is facing new scrutiny for some of the criminal cases being filed amid this wave of arrests. A federal judge unleashed fierce criticism in court Thursday, accusing the administration of ‘playing cops and robbers like children.’ Bringing serious charges against some people, jailing some of them, only to backtrack days later, and drop the charges.” He added, “Judge Zia Faruqui said the Department of Justice “is making too many errors,” making sloppy work and ruining some of its credibility, and noted how some grand juries have begun rejecting requests for indictments, saying the U.S. Attorney’s office in Washington is creating crisis. The U.S. Attorney for D.C., Jeanine Pirro, pushed back on that criticism Friday.” It could be argued that says more about the grand jury members than it does the DOJ, but as for Pirro, she was shown telling Faruqui to stay in his lane, “My job as a prosecutor is to bring criminals into court and to try to prove my case beyond a reasonable doubt. I'm not into going back and forth with judges. I was a judge. Okay? That's not what I did as a judge. So we need to leave politics out of it. I'll do my job. He should do his job as a judge. And leave his politics out of it.” MacFarlane then responded, “The mayor of Washington, D.C. has been supportive of some of the additional federal resources but said having National Guard troops on neighborhood streets is unnecessary and un-American.” The clip from Pirro came from the same press conference where she announced the arrest of the juveniles suspected of murdering Tarpinian-Jachym, so it is not as if MacFarlane can claim he was unaware of the news. Pirro also blamed the previous lack of juvenile prosecutions for creating an environment that necessitated the current crackdown. That CBS bias monitor cannot arrive quickly enough. Here is a transcript for the September 6 show: CBS Saturday Morning 9/6/2025 8:07 AM ET MICHELLE MILLER: The president deployed troops to Washington, D.C. last month, but now there's also new controversy stemming from how the Justice Department is handling a surge of arrests and cases in the capital. CBS News Justice Correspondent Scott Macfarlane explains from Washington. SCOTT MACFARLANE: National Guard officials tell CBS News there are now approximately 2,300 troops deployed here in Washington and the D.C. Detransitioner’s heartbreaking story exposes the dark side of ‘gender-affirming care’

It isn’t enough for conservatives to push back against the liberal-spawned transgender movement that’s urging vulnerable children to take artificial hormones and undergo irreversible surgeries that mutilate their healthy bodies. We need people who have experienced the horrors of trans mania firsthand to speak out.Thankfully, some detransitioners are doing just that. One of them is Chloe Cole, an activist in California who’s sharing her experience “transitioning” genders starting when she was just 12 years old to warn gender-confused minors against the pitfalls of the trans movement. On an episode of “Back to the People,” BlazeTV host Nicole Shanahan sat down with Chloe to hear her heartbreaking yet hopeful story. Chloe was 12 years old when she was introduced to the transgender community on social media. She started following the accounts of many young trans people because she felt a connection to them.“They reminded me so much of myself in so many different ways. A lot of these people were artistic; they were creative; they had a unique fashion sense; they were very individual; they wanted to set themselves apart from the other people,” she says.Their struggle with being bullied for being tomboys or effeminate boys resonated deeply with Chloe, who was also being bullied in school. On social media, she witnessed their “sense of happiness and wholeness” as they created new identities by cutting their hair short, wearing clothes of the opposite gender, and adopting new names and pronouns.Tragically, many of these kids found that their new identity was more accepted than their genuine one. This often led them to pursue surgeries and hormonal therapy. And Chloe was no exception. She was put on the drug Lupron, which was originally used for reproductive cancers, hormonal disorders, and chemical castration for sex offenders. However, “a lot of facilities have stopped using this drug to castrate those sex offenders because it's been deemed too cruel for use in that population,” says Chloe, pointing out the irony that it’s now marketed toward “perfectly healthy children.”Convinced that she was truly a male, Chloe was put on testosterone and eventually had an elective double mastectomy at age 15. Her breasts weren’t just removed; they were intentionally reshaped to appear more masculine. All of this, she explains, was covered by insurance because California mandates that insurers cover all “gender-affirming care.”Just a year later, though, when Chloe was 16, she began her detransitioning journey when she realized that she wanted to be a mother someday. She remains grateful that she didn’t pursue further surgeries that would have stolen that opportunity from her.Today, Chloe is using her story and her voice to speak out about the dangers of transgenderism, offering hope to confused minors who feel stuck in the wrong body.To hear Chloe and Nicole dive into the darkest parts of the transgender movement, including the horrendous grooming and predation trans-identifying kids are subjected to, watch the interview above.Want more from Nicole Shanahan? To enjoy more of Nicole's compelling blend of empathy, curiosity, and enlightenment, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Is that all you got? Late-night's tepid Trump trash talk tanks

Team Late Night had weeks to prepare their best shots against Orange Man Bad over summer vacation. The results? Suffice it to say there’s a reason the late-night format is heading for the dustbin of history. To be fair, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel managed an entire monologue without crying in his return from summer break. Otherwise, it was business as usual. Yawn. The most depressing part? The not-remotely-biased media now treats 'South Park' like the Holy Grail, reciting every aspect of each new episode to maximize its cultural impact.“Oh, you delicate, chubby little teacup. … You want us to be canceled because we make jokes about you? I thought you were against cancel culture. Unfortunately for Frosty the Snowflake, the only place we are going is to New York.”Stop it … you’re killing us.Comedy kingpin Stephen Colbert struck next, and suddenly the walls were closing in on the 47th president. The far-left propagandist had to remind his audience that rumors of President Donald Trump’s demise weren’t true and that wishing for a leader’s death wasn’t the decent thing to do.Maybe spending a decade telling fans Trump is the veritable Antichrist has repercussions. Then, Colbert turned his comic firepower on Vice President JD Vance, who endured a soupçon of hecklers at the suddenly crime-free Union Station in D.C.“He’s in a train station; he’s going to bang a bench,” Colbert cracked about Vance. At least we know where “The Late Show’s” $100 million-a -ear budget goes. Comic gold like that does not come cheap …RELATED: Libs are outraged at Jay Leno's comments about politics in comedy amid cancellation of Stephen Colbert Photo (left): Gary Miller/Getty Images; Photo (right): Scott Kowalchyk/CBS via Getty ImagesGoin' 'South'Nor does access to all things “South Park.” Trey Parker and Matt Stone cozied up to Paramount to the tune of $1.5 billion a few weeks ago. The TV pranksters earned that cash with a show that never pulls its punches.Left. Right. Up. Down. Pick a target, and “South Park” has smashed it over the years. And, along the way, earned the right’s respect for being an equal-opportunity offender. Now? Each new “South Park” episode features another dreary bit where President Trump beds Satan. Literally. The show’s first four installments all featured the already stale bit, along with other smart bombs against GOP-adjacent targets.Meanwhile, a Democratic Party that defends gang members, rising crime rates, and men claiming to be trans brutalizing women in sports gets off without a warning. The most depressing part? The not-remotely-biased media now treats “South Park” like the Holy Grail, reciting every aspect of each new episode to maximize its cultural impact.Weird that reporters did no such thing over the show’s 28-year-run …Hope after 'Nope'?It’s been three years since Jordan Peele deposited his cinematic stink bomb “Nope” on an unsuspecting public. That 2022 dud marked a massive letdown from Peele’s masterful 2017 debut, “Get Out,” and solid 2019 follow-up, “Us.”We’ve been waiting to see if Peele can return to his former glory. Now, we’ll have to wait a bit longer. He had originally staked out October 2026 as the date for his next, untitled project. That’s no longer in the cards.Quentin Tarantino is currently stuck on his 10th and presumably final film. He can’t commit to a project or a release date. Peele, who seemed bound for greatness after “Get Out,” has reached a Tarantino-style impasse in less than 10 years. Impressive …Wright and wrongSome things in pop culture are inevitable. Whenever Hollywood gets creative with its casting decisions, a small but vocal segment of Comic-Con Nation howls in protest. Remember when Sony cast four comic actresses to take over the “Ghostbusters” franchise in 2016? Or when Disney cast black actress Halle Bailey to play the formerly white Ariel in 2023’s “Little Mermaid” update? Some fans are simply purists, and that’s understandable. A much smaller contingent operate from a whiff of misogyny and/or racism. Not remotely cool. And once in a while, this kind of creative casting generates a collective shrug. No outrage. No hashtag complaints. That happened when actor Jeffrey Wright took over as Commissioner Gordon in 2022’s “The Batman.” Wright is a fine actor, and his addition to the cast was greeted as warmly as the rest of the geek-friendly film.Zero controversy.Tell that to Wright."I really find it fascinating, the ways in which there’s such a conversation, and I think even more of a conversation now, about black characters in these roles," Wright said. “It’s just so f**king racist and stupid. It’s just so blind in a way that I find revealing to not recognize that the evolution of these films reflects the evolution of society, that somehow it’s defiling this franchise not to keep it grounded in the cultural reality of 1939 when the comic books were first published. It’s just the dumbest thing. It’s absent all logic.”He's a terrific actor and even better faux victim.
