President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday repeatedly refused to rule out using the U.S. military to acquire Greenland and the Panama Canal. Trump made the remarks during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago in Florida when asked by a reporter if he could “assure the world” that he would not “use military or economic coercion” to acquire the two areas. “No,” Trump said. “I can’t assure you, you’re talking about Panama and Greenland. No, I can’t assure you on either of those two, but I can say this, we need them for economic security. It’s being operated by China. China!” he continued. “And we gave the Panama Canal to Panama, we didn’t give it to China. And they’ve abused it. They’ve abused that gift. A federal judge in Florida has temporarily blocked the expected release of special counsel Jack Smith‘s final report, a victory for Donald Trump and his allies in the final weeks before the president-elect starts his second White House term. Smith’s report must remain undisclosed while the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals considers a challenge from two of Trump’s former co-defendants in the classified documents case, District Court Judge Aileen Cannon wrote in an order on Tuesday. Lawyers for the defendants, Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, had requested a hearing on an emergency motion to argue against the release of certain materials while contending an “unchecked release” would result in “prejudice” against them. “Defendants are strictly precluded from refuting the Report,” their filing on Monday warned. “The Final Report is meant to serve as a Government verdict against the Defendants contrary to all criminal justice norms and constitutional guideposts.” Cannon, a Trump appointee, dismissed the classified documents case last summer. Smith appealed the decision but dropped the challenge after Trump won the 2024 election. However, the appeal with regard to Nauta and De Oliveira remains active. The filing from the special counsel said that one of the volumes pertains to the documents case, and it would not be sent to Garland before 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Smith also said Garland would not release the volume to the public, if at all, before Friday. POLITICO’s Kyle Cheney noted earlier on Tuesday that Trump “is preparing to formally intervene in the effort to block Jack Smith’s report, his codefendants say. And they’re asking the 11th circuit to send the case back to Cannon so she can rule on it.” The second volume may deal with Smith’s abandoned 2020 election subversion case in Washington, D.C. District Judge Tanya Chutkan dismissed the charges against Trump after the special counsel filed to drop the matter following the 2024 election.

An Iraq War veteran recalls a supernatural creature that he has drawn, and then later observed on 2 occasions while on duty. Was this a thoughtform manifestation?I received the following account:"There I was, bored in the combat zone (Iraq) drawing a picture, it was of the scenery, a few hills some dead grass, a tree stump. On the stump, I decided to draw a creature, humanoid, like a pigmy werewolf, four-foot something, with claws, and teeth. The commander shows up, calls us in for a mission, and I put away my drawing.Weeks later, we are in an abandoned base, staying in some new buildings, with no windows, doors, or anything, just the concrete bones, and openings for the installation of these things. Every night, we had to set up a watch, it took the whole platoon to cover the building, minus a few per floor, to run to reinforcements. I was one such reinforcement, sitting in an empty room, in the dark. After a while I noticed that I was not alone, I looked up and the thing I drew was sitting on the ceiling staring at me, I stared back, gripping my M-249 waiting for something to happen, when my team leader came in, asking if I'm okay. As I tell him yes, he walks over to one of the holes where the window would be, looks out, turns back, and asks, "Did you see that?"Later, near the Iran border, we stayed at another abandoned base, a bunch of classrooms spread between six buildings, all are one floor, with walls that don't reach the ceilings. I had just gotten off a guard shift, came back into my room, and my buddy was in there, staring at the ceiling, I looked up, and there it was. Again, "What is that?" my buddy asked, Just then our squad leader came in asking what we were doing. We explained, but it was gone again. My family down all sides has a long history of strangeness (true stories got me banned from sleepovers, for example, growing up). Different ones of us have different abilities, but we all see black dogs. I currently have wards set up on my windows and doors due to something that knocks and scratches, and it just goes on and on. I've been told by others that our family is cursed or that we walk in both worlds. I've seen things I know for a fact are there that others in the paranormal field have told me are not real and don't exist because they don't know of them. As I'm looking right at it.Could I possibly tell you about some of these things? Perhaps get your advice as to what is currently hanging around my house, setting my animals off and freaking out my son? At the very least that, and your advice on a dream that has yet to fade after weeks and is one of the very very few to ever truly scare me.
