Ben Shapiro Slams UCLA As ‘A Woke Trash Heap’ Ahead Of Campus Speech

Before taking the stage to speak on campus at the University of California Los Angeles, Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro blasted his alma mater on Monday, writing that it “has forgotten what it’s supposed to be.” Shapiro will speak at a Young America’s Foundation event at UCLA on Monday night, a speech that has already generated controversy on campus and among the UCLA administration. In a thread posted to X on Monday, Shapiro slammed UCLA and its “scandals of plagiarism, DEI, riots, furries, BDSM, womxn, and ‘monsterf***ers.” Tonight, I’ll take the stage at UCLA. Before I do, let’s review how my once-elite undergraduate alma mater became a woke trash heap drowning in scandals of plagiarism, DEI, riots, furries, BDSM, womxn, and “monsterf*ckers.” ? — Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) October 21, 2024 “Back in March, I exposed the state of the formerly prestigious UCLA medical school, which now mandates your future surgeons learn about ‘Indigenous resistance,’ ‘white supremacy,’ ‘two-spirits,’ and whatever ‘womxn’ are,” Shapiro wrote. He added that shortly after he exposed the university’s focus on woke concepts for medical students, Daily Wire reporter Luke Rosiak revealed that UCLA Medical School’s head of diversity, equity, and inclusion “only published a single paper — her Ph.D. dissertation on how colleges should create larger DEI programs — and it was plagiarized.” “You might think this is why nearly 50% of UCLA medical students are failing basic competency tests, but it’s not. Sources blame Jennifer Lucero, the dean of admissions, and her racist, anti-white and anti-Asian affirmative action policies,” Shapiro continued. “Not only did UCLA seemingly allow the dean of admissions to discriminate, an accounting professor named Gordon Klein was suspended because he wouldn’t. Klein rejected demands by students to show ‘leniency with black students’ in grading and had to subsequently sue the school.” The Daily Wire host wrote that “walking across campus” at UCLA as a Jew was “impossible” just months ago as anti-Israel student protesters were allowed to block Jewish students from walking to their classes. MATT WALSH’S ‘AM I RACIST?’ COMING TO DAILYWIRE+ OCT. 28 “These anti-American, anti-Western, anti-Jewish Hamas apologists were allowed to occupy main centers of campus, vandalize, and attack their peers and police for weeks while normal students saw their education go up in smoke as tuition prices skyrocket,” Shapiro added. 7/ Just 5 months ago, walking across campus to Ackerman — where I'm speaking tonight — would have been impossible as a Jew after UCLA allowed historically & morally illiterate Hamas sympathizers to occupy access points & block Jews from passing through.pic.twitter.com/sGXbFEviv4 — Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) October 21, 2024 9/ These anti-American, anti-Western, anti-Jewish Hamas apologists were allowed to occupy main centers of campus, vandalize, and attack their peers and police for weeks while normal students saw their education go up in smoke as tuition prices skyrocket.pic.twitter.com/zvzVIGMZan — Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) October 21, 2024 Meanwhile, a UCLA student magazine is upset “about the lack of acceptance towards the ‘furry’ community” and obsessed with “kink.” “If you’re willing to pay $42,000 to $76,000 a year for you or your child to attend UCLA, they, too, can dose up on ‘freak fuel,’ become a ‘monsterf***er,’ and change their pronouns to ‘xey/xem’ while they ‘transmutate’ themselves. Money well spent,” Shapiro wrote. “In the days leading up to my @YAF speech tonight, the Administration paid to properly educate these ‘freaks’ has instead spent their time trying to derail my speech. They shut down ticketing, disrupted security plans, and left attendance open to agitator sabotage,” he added. “Sad as it is to see what UCLA has become, I’m looking forward to seeing the men and women of LA tonight at my speech. In accordance with our Q&A policy, those who disagree with me may cut to the front of the Q&A line. So, perhaps we’ll see some womxn and furries, too.”

Are Martin Short & Meryl Streep Dating? Steve Martin May Have Just Revealed The Truth

As the rumor mill swirls, many believe that Meryl Streep and Martin Short are more than just co-stars. Some say their relationship offscreen blossomed from friendship into a romance. Meryl and Martin currently co-star with Steve Martin on Only Murders in the Building. They’ve been spotted together on and off-set in recent months. According to the New York Post, Martin and Meryl dine together and drive off in the same car, sparking romance rims. But, per the Post, Martin’s repo reportedly told E News in January 2024, “They are just very good friends. Nothing more.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Steve Martin (@stevemartinreally) Steve Martin Decided to Stir the Martin Short and Meryl Steep Pot Steve’s a funny guy, and he posted a picture of himself with Meryl Streep and Martin Short on Instagram. Only this wasn’t a regular snapshot. Instead, Steve put a giant red circle with a line through it right over his face. This made many people speculate that Steve was inferring he was a third wheel when he’s around the other two. A fan asked, “Did he just hard launch the relationship?” This person certainly hopes so. They wrote, “I don’t know why the thought of Meryl and Martin makes me so happy but it honestly fills my heart with joy.” Another fan hoped Martin and Meryl could give a more solid clue, writing, “I love this couple and hope they are in a relationship. They deserve all the happiness in the world. Absolutely love both. A public kiss to confirm would be wonderful tho.” Steve tricked this fan. “I was about to type “don’t you dare do that to Steve Martin” until I saw this was posted by Steve Martin himself.” Meryl Streep and Martin Short are both seemingly single. He’s a widow after losing Nancy Dolman, his wife of 30 years, to cancer in 2010. News broke of Meryl’s divorce from Don Gummer in 2023 after the pair reportedly lived apart for more than six years, per the Post. This is getting good. Louisville Police Officer Hailed A Hero After Body Cam Footage Of Him Talking Man Off The Ledge Releases

Being a police officer isn’t easy. It takes courage, tenacity, and an intense desire to care for and protect others. There is a lot more to the job than crime fighting. Police officers often have to employ empathy and compassion in their daily lives. Police Body cam footage captured Ali Thomas, an officer with the Louisville Metro Police Department, heroically helping to save a man’s life recently, and it’s truly incredible. Police Body Cam Footage Captured The Heartwarming Encounter In a news conference, Assistant Chief Emily McKinley said that Ali came across the unidentified man in distress on the Lincoln Memorial Bridge on October 9. He didn’t hesitate to help. Police Body cam footage shows the man, who reportedly wore a firefighter’s shirt, hopping over the railing of the bridge. Ali approached, and the man began to talk to him. “That is material s— and that can all be replaced,” Ali told the man. “She can be replaced. Your personal stuff can be replaced. We can’t replace you.” A second officer eventually arrived, and the pair lifted the man over the railing and back to safety. Ali told WDRB he was happy the man was safe. “It’s a huge relief,” he said. “I helped somebody out. I don’t know. It’s real emotional just talking about it now, you can probably tell in my voice. I just didn’t want nobody to jump.” Ali, a former firefighter, joined the police force in 2021 after working for the city’s fire department for more than 20 years. After sharing the police body cam footage, Chief McKinley said she believed Ali was on that bridge for a reason that day. “We cannot be more proud of Officer Ali. He’s serving our community well.” The chief added, “This is why we took this job,” she said. “We took this job because we want to help people.” You can find the source of this story’s image here. Becoming a Werewolf Is No Picnic in Wolf Man Trailer

News Wolf Man Becoming a Werewolf Is No Picnic in Wolf Man Trailer From the screenwriter of 2020’a Invisible Man… By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on October 21, 2024 Screenshot: Universal Pictures Comment 0 Share New Share Screenshot: Universal Pictures We’ve got a full trailer to augment the relatively short teaser for Wolf Man that Universal Pictures already released. The longer trailer gives us more of an inkling as to what’s going on, specifically about what happens to the dad of the family, Blake (played by Poor Things’ Christopher Abbott), when he gets bit on the way to visit his newly inherited childhood home. It’s not a spoiler to say that Blake doesn’t fare so well. (It also seems like the werewolf who bit him might be his presumed dead father, giving weight to the metaphor that the tendency for loved ones to turn into monsters can be a generational thing.) This trailer, in fact, gives a cascading look at Blake’s downfall, right up to the point he becomes full werewolf, leaving his wife (Julia Garner) and his daughter (Matlida Firth) vulnerable. The Blumhouse production also stars Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama) and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man), with newcomer Zac Chandler, Beatriz Romilly (Shortland Street) and Milo Cawthorne (Shortland Street). It comes from writer-director Leigh Whannell, whose previous credits include 2020’s The Invisible Man. Wolf Man premieres in theaters on January 17, 2025. Check out the trailer below.[end-mark] The post Becoming a Werewolf Is No Picnic in Wolf Man Trailer appeared first on Reactor.

Those Who Lecture Vs. Those Tired of Being Lectured To

The election is finally shaping up to be not only liberal Democrat Kamala Harris versus conservative Republican Donald Trump. Instead, it has become a larger contest between those who talk down to their fellow Americans and those who are increasingly sick and tired of being lectured. How smart is it, for example, for Harris supporters to claim nonstop that ex-President Trump is a fascist dictator—and thus, by extension, those also who vote for him? Female voters poll in favor of Harris. Trump enjoys a similar, although likely somewhat smaller, majority margin of male voters. Yet Harris—along with campaign surrogates Barack Obama and Bill Clinton—has been lecturing both black and white male voters nonstop that they are misled. Or they supposedly suffer from false consciousness—as if they have no clue that Harris and her progressive agenda are really in their own self-interest. Such haughtiness reached a zenith when Harris ran ads of actors costumed as supposedly working-class men. They voiced scripted talking points to prove that “real” men are progressive Harris supporters. But the actors were so patently ridiculous, their canned lines so unreal, that most viewers likely thought the ads were run by Trump himself—to show how arrogant, out-of-touch elites must imagine how the so-called “clingers” and “deplorables” think and talk. The Trump campaign also tries all sorts of strategies to win over female voters, from promising to rectify the Biden-Harris hyperinflation to reducing spiraling crime in towns and cities. But one method it avoids is claiming women are ignorant of their real self-interest and deluded by Harris, accurately assuming that a candidate does not win voters by belittling their intelligence. Harris and Obama both dressed down black men, claiming they are especially culpable for not voting en masse for Harris—even though a far higher percentage of black males will vote for Harris than for Trump. This hectoring the electorate on its supposed ignorance or moral shortcomings has become a Harris campaign trademark. To Harris, objecting to 10 million to 12 million foreign nationals entering the country illegally without background checks during the Biden-Harris administration is supposedly a sign of a lack of compassion. And claiming that a current declining rate of illegal immigration should allay voters’ supposed paranoias utterly ignores the millions of illegal aliens who were all but welcomed in by Biden-Harris before the 2024 election cycle. Voters are also talked down to ad nauseam that they do not appreciate the Biden-Harris economy, given the rate of inflation is falling. True. But most voters go shopping in a manner politicians do not. So, they resent such top-down sermons. They know best that prices for staple foods, fuel, insurance, and housing have spiked by some 20% to 30% since 2021—and stayed astronomically high. Currently, the auto industry is in crisis. Its huge inventory of electric vehicles sits unwanted and unsold. Harris and the Left, remember, mandated all sorts of EV standards in their war against the internal combustion engine. Then the proverbial people revolted against the comparatively limited range of EVs and the difficulty in finding accessible and quick-charging stations. So, the free market and consumer demand ignored the increasingly strident lectures. Likewise, Harris pontificated that crime that had spiked from 2021 to 2023 is now not all that bad. But voters know all too well that their major cities are now unsafe. They sense one reason this year that crime is not soaring as it was two years ago is because it had gotten so bad that any further commensurate increases would have made life utterly unlivable. The Harris campaign was further hurt by past videos that keep popping up of Harris lecturing voters about how they either must think correctly or remain cluelessly selfish or ignorant. So, a recent clip surfaced on Columbus Day 2021 of Harris lecturing America about Western civilization’s “shameful” sins in discovering the New World. Another video reveals Harris warning the country in 2020 on national television that the massive post-George Floyd demonstrations—that had turned violent and deadly—would not and should not stop, as if the country had to pay collective penance for its sins. This 2024 race may be becoming analogous to an October 1980 teachable moment. Then a preachy and sanctimonious incumbent President Jimmy Carter—ahead in the final October polls over challenger Ronald Reagan—finally turned off voters for good. The previously underdog Reagan won in a landslide for a variety of reasons. But certainly, one explanation was that the electorate had finally collectively shrugged off their weariness. They were sick and tired of Carter’s downer lectures about how they were wrong and culpable. Reagan, however, reminded voters that America was better than all of the alternatives, needed not be perfect to be good, and had nothing to apologize for. The same contrast will likely determine the election of 2024. COPYRIGHT 2024 TRIBUNE CONTENT AGENCY LLC We publish a variety of perspectives. The View Helps Walz to Fix Kamala Blunder, Gift ‘Dad in Plaid’ Flannel Shirt

ABC News’s The View became the first broadcast news program to completed the trifecta of Democratic campaign interviews on Monday, when they brought on Governor and vice presidential nominee Tim Walz (D-MN). Just as with their recent gushfest interviews with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Walz was treated to a plethora of softball questions; including an opportunity to clean up Harris’s mess from her appearance. They also surprised him with a custom flannel shirt with their logo and more. Possibly reprimanded by ABC corporate after previously introducing Harris as “the next vice president of the United States” during her interview, moderator Whoopi Goldberg didn’t give Walz such a grandiose entrance: We are two weeks to the finish line of one of the most -- of one of the wildest presidential races ever, but I don't have to tell you that this man, a former small town teacher, coach, and six-term congressman who's currently governor of Minnesota, and as of two months ago, the Democratic nominee for vice president of the United States. What a shock for him! We're going to talk to him about it because he's here. Please welcome for the first time on The View stage, Governor Tim Walz. It’s worth nothing that none of ABC’s flagship newscasts (Good Morning America and World News Tonight) have scored interviews with Harris and Walz as candidates, either had their Sunday morning show This Week. Goldberg’s first question was an example of why, she mocked Senator J.D. Vance’s name and asked Walz about what being a candidate was like: You have been in state politics for nearly two decades. You burst onto the national spotlight about 20 minutes ago. This summer when you-know-who called, and [long pause] his -- I can't even say this man's name – Vice President J.D. Vance, weird – You called him “weird,” and you weren’t – there was no lie in anything you said. So, you're a candidate now for vice president. Can you put into words, for us, what the last couple of months have been like for you? Wow. Hard to believe the campaign survived that zinger. Speaking of zingers. During Harris’s appearance, she infamously botched a simple question about if there was anything she would have done differently than Biden the last four years. “There is not a thing that comes to mind… and I've been part of most of the decisions that have had impact,” she answered. Pretend moderate Sara Haines gave Walz a chance to fix the damage Harris had done by asking the same question, making clear it was a do-over: HAINES: But our ABC poll shows only a third of Americans believe a Harris-Walz ticket would bring that change. I want to pose a similar question to you that we asked Vice President Harris. Can you point a policy decision over the last four years that you and the Vice President would have handled differently from President Biden? WALZ: Well, I think she's – this expansion on Medicare, is something that I wish would have been proposed sooner. But look, they're tackling the issues that they needed to. They came out of a pandemic that Donald Trump had left a mess for, an economy with supply chains that were broken. When it came to Walz’s lies about his military record, stolen valor, and fabrications about being in Tiananmen Square to witness the massacre, faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin didn’t call him out. Instead, she downplayed them as just “misstatements” and defending him by arguing that former President Trump was worse: Governor, I want to ask you, and thank you for being here. You’ve been asked before, but I want to ask this way about a number of misstatements you've made about your previous military record and travels you’ve been in. I want to be unequivocal. Nobody lies as much as Donald Trump. Nothing that you've misled on is anything on the same level. “But even in an era where there's so much mistruth in our politics, so many lies, can't there be in gray area, and how would you convey to voters they may be concerned that there's a trust issue?” she asked. Toward the end of the third segment with Walz, Haines gifted their guest with a custom flannel shirt complete with The View logo embroidered on the front and “dad in plaid” (a nickname coined by former President Obama) on the back. “That's the single greatest thing I've ever got,” Walz thanked them. “And, if you win, will you wear it back and come back and visit us? When you win, will you wear it back and come back?” fake Republican Ana Navarro begged him. “Yes, I’m wearing – That's what I was going to say. You know I'm wearing this,” Walz boasted. The transcript is below. Meta Engineer Brags About Shadowbanning, SWAT Team, Election Interference

A Meta senior software engineer was reportedly caught on camera boasting about his company’s ability to manipulate elections. Meta Senior Software Engineer Jeevan Gyawali was apparently caught on camera by James O’Keefe’s organization, O’Keefe Media Group (OMG), smugly explaining how platforms silence speech. When asked if Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, could influence elections, the man responded, “Yes.” This would seem to contradict Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s public letter disavowing further election interference. The OMG undercover journalist asked, “You guys [Meta] have the ability to influence the outcome of the election?” The man identified as Gyawali replied, “Yes.” When asked if Zuckerberg supports his company’s political influence and agenda to assist the Democrat Party in winning elections, Gyawali nodded in agreement saying, “100%.” The man identified by OMG as Gyawali explained how Meta can reportedly do this. “Say your uncle in Ohio said something about Kamala Harris is unfit to be a president because she doesn't have a child. That kind of sh*t is automatically demoted.” He continued, “The person would not be notified,” but a decline would be visible in the user’s engagement on posts and impressions. Gyawali told OMG that Meta’s so-called “Integrity Team” controls content through its “civic classifiers,” which is a system that “shadowbans” political posts without ever notifying the censored users. The man identified as Gyawali also told OMG that Meta has a team of people brainstorming how to address potential election issues. When asked about what the platform is doing to prevent another 2016, Gyawali said “There is a SWAT team that's already set up since, like I think April… just to think about all the scenarios of how the platform could be abused.” When challenged on so-called “disinformation,” a leftist term often used to describe dissenting opinions, Gyawali confidently asserted, “that’s all going to be demoted 100%.” OMG has since released another video showing a Meta software engineer also admitting to biased, anti-Donald Trump censorship. Meta spokesman Andy Stone asserted in reply to OMG that Meta’s political censorship isn’t biased. Meta openly admits to suppression of political content on Instagram and Threads, but OMG’s videos seemingly expose bias in that censorship. This kind of censorship can have a significant impact on elections. A 2020 MRC poll illustrated that Twitter and Meta’s effort to censor the Hunter Biden scandal helped sway the election in Joe Biden’s favor, as 17 percent of Biden voters would not have voted for him had they known. MRC Free Speech America has also separately documented Facebook’s interference in elections 39 times since 2008. Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives.
