NYC Subway Rider Won’t Be Charged After Allegedly Shooting Aggressive Man In ‘Self-Defense’

New York City prosecutors will not seek charges for the subway rider who allegedly shot a 36-year-old black man in the head on a crowded A train on Thursday. The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office announced in a statement on Friday that the evidence currently available shows the 32-year-old male shooter acted in “self-defense‚” The New York Post reported. The 36-year-old man‚ who has been identified as Dajuan Robinson‚ was shot after getting into a verbal spat and then a fistfight with the alleged shooter. Video footage of the incident showed Robinson‚ yelling at the other man‚ “I’ll beat you up!” before getting in his face and saying‚ “F*** your race. F*** your kind. F*** you.” “Yesterday’s shooting inside a crowded subway car was shocking and deeply upsetting. The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing but‚ at this stage‚ evidence of self-defense precludes us from filing any criminal charges against the shooter‚” said Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office spokesman Oren Yaniv. Robinson is currently hospitalized in critical condition‚ and law enforcement sources told the Post it remains unclear if he will survive. Sources said that Robinson was armed with a .380-caliber Ruger and a knife and was acting as the aggressor on the subway‚ ABC News reported. The 36-year-old was reportedly shot in the neck once‚ in the chest once‚ and twice in the right side of his face. Law enforcement sources also said that Robinson had 10 prior arrests. Shortly after the two men got into the verbal tussle‚ they squared up‚ causing subway passengers around them to move to a different area of the train. “There’s babies on here!” one woman shouted as the men began to fight. Robinson eventually pushed the other man down onto a seat and punched him several times before a woman attempted to stop him from delivering any more blows. The fight was briefly broken up when another man‚ along with the woman‚ stepped in between the two men. The video showed blood on the back of the 36-year-old man‚ who asked if the other man had stabbed him. Robinson continued to move toward the other man and eventually pulled out a handgun‚ causing passengers to scramble toward the other end of the train with some people screaming‚ “Get down! Get down!” and “Let me out!” Multiple gunshots then rang out‚ but the video doesn’t show the shooting as the person recording runs off the train when it comes to a stop. Police said the 32-year-old man wrestled the firearm away from the other man before shooting him and was arrested on the scene. Police later said that video footage showed that the woman had stabbed Robinson. The unidentified woman is reportedly a friend of the alleged shooter and is being sought for questioning and a potential assault charge. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP Last year‚ U.S. Marine veteran Daniel Penny was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide after he restrained Jordan Neely‚ a homeless man who was allegedly threatening passengers on a subway car. Neely lost consciousness and later died following the incident. Penny pleaded not guilty to the charges and has maintained that he was acting to protect his fellow passengers.

Some Of Kate Middleton’s Senior Staff Haven’t Seen Royal Since Surgery: Report

Some members of Kate Middleton’s senior staff have reportedly not seen the Princess of Wales since her abdominal surgery in January and subsequent recovery at home. “A few of Kate’s senior staffers haven’t been able to see or speak to her‚ and they didn’t even know about the surgery until it was announced‚ so it’s caught them off guard‚” an unnamed source told US Weekly. “Only a few people know what’s really going on‚ and they’re tight-lipped‚” the source added. “It’s confusing and causing some concern.” 🔥 BREAKING: A Royal source has told Us Weekly that Kate Middleton’s senior staffers “haven’t been able to see or speak to her‚ and they didn’t even know about her surgery until it was announced‚ so it’s caught them off guard”‚ adding that “only a few people know what’s really… pic.twitter.com/0MuSf6m2vi — Cillian (@CilComLFC) March 14‚ 2024 The source also shared that the princess’ recovery has been a “shroud of secrecy” and she’s only had a few visitors‚ including King Charles III and Queen Camilia‚ the outlet noted. Another insider described the news of Middleton’s recovery as “very hush-hush.” “Kate’s said she feels she’s entitled to heal and recuperate without all of this frenzied speculation‚” a source told the outlet. “Neither Kate nor [Prince] William think her medical records should be for public consumption.” “She’s trying not to pay attention to all the rumors and gossip‚ and William is doing his best to shield her‚ but it’s distressing‚” the source added. Speculation about Middleton’s health and whereabouts reached a fever pitch this week after Kensington Palace shared a family photo of her and her children in honor of U.K. Mother’s Day. However‚ hours after it appeared in publications‚ the Associated Press issued a “kill notification” on the photo it said had been “manipulated‚” as previously reported. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP On Monday‚ the palace admitted the photo had been edited. A message from Middleton on X read‚ “Like many amateur photographers‚ I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.” However‚ as many have noted‚ despite the apology‚ the palace has still refused to release the original photo. Middleton has been missing from public events since the surgery and was last photographed at Christmastime.  The Prince and Princess of Wales have three children: Prince George‚ Princess Charlotte‚ and Prince Louis.

Ozzy Osbourne Was ‘Stoned On Every Episode’ Of Reality Show ‘The Osbournes‚’ Sharon Says

Sharon Osbourne said her husband‚ Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne‚ was high on drugs for the entirety of their popular reality show‚ “The Osbournes.” “He was stoned on every episode‚” Sharon told a “Celebrity Big Brother” contestant who mentioned watching the series‚ per Entertainment Weekly. “He was never sober‚” the 71-year-old celebrity continued. “He’s never seen [the show]‚ doesn’t want to see it‚ and he never watched one episode.” “The Osbournes” aired on MTV between 2002 and 2005. It followed Ozzy and the rest of his family members‚ including Sharon and his children Jack and Kelly‚ as they went about their lives. A third Osbourne offspring‚ Aimee‚ refused to participate in the reality show and was openly critical of the whole idea. Ozzy and Sharon now host a podcast called “The Osbournes Podcast” where they’ve discussed the reality show and how it impacted them. During a conversation on the podcast in November‚ Kelly said being on the show had a “massive negative effect” on her. “Imagine having to relive every conversation you’ve ever had throughout a 24-hour period or six month period‚ and then all of a sudden people are judging everything you’ve said‚” Kelly said. “You’re just like‚ ‘Wait I just thought I was having a normal conversation‚ now this person hates me.’ It’s crazy. It just made me so insecure.” Ozzy agreed‚ saying‚ “It’s so intrusive in your house. At the time‚ I said I wanted a safe room where I could go and pick my nose and squeeze a zit if I want to without being on camera‚ and they had a f***ing camera in there. When you’ve got hidden cameras‚ you start to freak out.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP He added that “never in a million years” would he do a reality show like that again. Ozzy has been struggling with his health after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003. He’s also expressed his intention to go back on tour. “I’m getting pissed off reading the papers‚ and they’re saying things like ‘Ozzy is fighting his last battle.’ He’s sung his last ‘Paranoid.’ You know‚ I don’t even think about Parkinson’s that much‚” Osbourne said in November‚ as The Daily Wire previously reported. “I said to [my wife] Sharon that I’d smoked a joint recently and she said‚ ‘What are you doing that for! It’ll f***-ing kill you!’” he continued. “I said‚ ‘How long do you want me to f***ing live for?!’ At best‚ I’ve got 10 years left and when you’re older‚ time picks up speed.”

Why I’m Giving Money To Donald Trump

Why I’m Giving Money To Donald Trump

I’m voting for Donald Trump in November. I’ve said this so many‚ many times at this point. I am not only voting for Donald Trump‚ but next week‚ I will also be co-hosting a fundraiser for him. This may come as a surprise to some of you. I want to tell you why we are holding the fundraiser. As you know‚ I didn’t support Trump in the primaries because I don’t endorse candidates in Republican primaries. But I do tell you who I would have voted for. And I told you I would have voted for Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida‚ if given the choice. But Ron DeSantis isn’t the nominee. Donald Trump is the nominee. And he’s facing Joe Biden‚ who is the worst president of my lifetime. And because Donald Trump is the nominee against Joe Biden‚ I won’t just vote for him. I will walk over broken glass to vote for him. I will go into my own pockets to support him‚ which is what I’m doing. My calculus is simple. America was better off under Donald Trump than it is under Joe Biden. At home‚ America was safer and more prosperous when Donald Trump was president. We did not have an open border. We were not flooding our country with at least seven million illegal immigrants overwhelming our cities‚ leaving our country wide open to the plague of Chinese and Mexican drug-cartel-backed fentanyl poisoning. WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show When Donald Trump was president‚ we didn’t have a president who tried to use the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to force 80 million Americans to take a vaccine or lose their jobs — and my company‚ The Daily Wire‚ didn’t have to sue to stop it. When Donald Trump was president‚ we didn’t have 40-year highs in inflation and decreasing real wages. When Donald Trump was president‚ we didn’t have a federal attempt to teach children that boys can be girls and vice versa‚ to force taxpayers to subsidize abortion‚ or to target religious institutions for the great crime of upholding traditional Judeo-Christian values.  When Donald Trump was president‚ we didn’t have an administration hell-bent on stymieing the police in their attempts to fight crime or an administration that values diversity and inclusion and wokeness above military readiness‚ all in the name of equity. When Donald Trump was president‚ we did not have American businesses preparing to have their incomes robbed from them in the name of the biggest spending programs in American history. When Donald Trump was president‚ we didn’t have unconstitutional attempts to simply wipe away student loan debt or a Department of Justice dedicated to targeting political opposition.  When Donald Trump was president‚ the world was not on fire. When Donald Trump was president‚ we did not cut and run in the face of eighth-century barbarians in Afghanistan who blew up 13 American soldiers‚ hunted down our allies‚ and re-established Al-Qaeda bases. When Donald Trump was president‚ peace was breaking out in the Middle East between Arab nations and Israel‚ and Iran was in a box. We certainly did not have a multi-front hot war between Iranian proxies and American allies or American soldiers directly. And we weren’t trying to pay billions in bribes to the Iranian mullahs. When Donald Trump was president‚ we didn’t have a war in Ukraine. When Donald Trump was president‚ China was not threatening imminent blockade of Taiwan. When Donald Trump was president‚ America was better off. I’m not going to stop criticizing Donald Trump when I disagree with him. I will always be honest about that. That’s my job. It’s the job of all Americans because Donald Trump as a presidential candidate works for us. But Donald Trump is the man standing between America and a second Joe Biden term. And a second Joe Biden term means America is in dire‚ dire trouble. It is that simple. I encourage all of you who‚ like me‚ would have preferred another nominee for the GOP‚ to recognize this is now a binary race. It is Trump or it is Biden. Unlike 2016‚ we don’t have to guess what a Trump administration will be. We also don’t have to guess what a Biden administration will be. We know. America cannot afford another term of Joe Biden‚ or‚ perhaps more realistically‚ a Kamala Harris term. Joe Biden is here to finish the job Barack Obama started: of fundamentally transforming America into the image of the far-Left. That cannot happen. That’s why I’m not just giving Donald Trump my vote‚ but I’m also giving him my money — because this election matters. Donald Trump must be the next president of the United States. Home Foreclosures Soaring‚ Especially In These States‚ Report Shows

Home foreclosures are soaring across the nation‚ especially in certain states‚ new data shows. Tens of thousands of houses were facing foreclosure as of last month‚ according to a report from real estate data provider ATTOM. A total of 32‚938 properties across the country had foreclosure filings in February‚ up 8% over a year ago‚ although that number was down 1% from January‚ the report found. Foreclosure filings can consist of default notices‚ scheduled auctions‚ or bank repossessions. Across the country‚ there was one foreclosure filing for every 4‚279 housing units last month. Some states fared better than others. South Carolina had the highest foreclosure rate with one in every 2‚248 housing units. Delaware was next‚ followed by Florida‚ Ohio‚ and Connecticut. “The annual uptick in U.S. foreclosure activity hints at shifting dynamics within the housing market‚” said Rob Barber‚ CEO at ATTOM. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “These trends could signify evolving financial landscapes for homeowners‚ prompting adjustments in market strategies and lending practices‚” Barber said. Columbia‚ South Carolina‚ was the major metropolitan area with the highest foreclosure rate. Orlando had the highest foreclosure rate for cities with a population greater than a million‚ followed by Cleveland‚ Riverside‚ Philadelphia‚ and Miami. Overall‚ lenders started the foreclosure process for 22‚575 properties in February‚ up 4% from January and 11% from a year ago. Florida saw the most foreclosure starts with more than 2‚700‚ followed by California‚ Texas‚ New York‚ and Ohio. The cities that saw the most foreclosure starts were New York City‚ Houston‚ Los Angeles‚ Chicago‚ and Miami. Completed foreclosures also rose in several states. South Carolina again topped the list with completed foreclosures up 51% compared to a year ago. Missouri was next with completed foreclosures up 50%‚ then Pennsylvania at 46%. Texas saw a 7% jump‚ and Indiana saw a nearly 1% increase over last year. Out of major metropolitan areas‚ Chicago saw the most completed foreclosures‚ a total of 207. Philadelphia‚ New York City‚ Pittsburgh‚ and Detroit also had high rates of completed foreclosures. However‚ completed foreclosures were down from a year ago in several states. In Georgia‚ they were down 52%‚ in New York 41%‚ North Carolina 34%‚ New Jersey 28%‚ and Maryland 26%. Despite foreclosure rates rising‚ they are still well below the foreclosure rates of the 2008 financial crisis. However‚ the new data come as concerns mount about soaring house prices‚ rents‚ and mortgage rates‚ which are driving home ownership out of reach for more and more families. Prices for everyday items such as groceries also remain high due to spiking inflation over the last several years‚ compounding the troubles for families who may be struggling to pay their rent or mortgage.

West Point Removes ‘Duty‚ Honor‚ Country’ From Mission Statement‚ Replaces With ‘Army Values’

West Point Removes ‘Duty‚ Honor‚ Country’ From Mission Statement‚ Replaces With ‘Army Values’

The mission statement of West Point will no longer include the words “duty‚ honor‚ country‚” as the over 220-year-old military academy choses to adopt a new mission statement based on “Army Values.” The military academy announced the proposed change on Monday‚ saying that the edits to the decades-old mission statement have already been approved by the Secretary of the Army and the Army Chief of Staff. West Point will still retain “duty‚ honor‚ country‚” as the academy’s motto‚ saying that the changes to the mission statement came after a year and a half long assessment. West Point’s new mission statement will be: “To build‚ educate‚ train‚ and inspire the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to the Army Values and ready for a lifetime of service to the Army and Nation.” The academy explained the change by saying that it was part of routine examination of the mission of the institution. “Our responsibility to produce leaders to fight and win our nation’s wars requires us to assess ourselves regularly‚” West Point said. “Thus‚ over the past year and a half‚ working with leaders from across West Point and external stakeholders‚ we reviewed our vision‚ mission‚ and strategy to serve this purpose. We believe our mission binds the Academy to the Army — the Army in which our cadets will serve.” The mission statement has been changed nine times before and the lines “duty‚ honor‚ country‚” were added in 1998. “It defines who we are as an institution and as graduates of West Point‚” the statement said. “These three hallowed words are the hallmark of the cadet experience and bind the Long Gray Line together across our great history.” The news that West Point was changing its mission statement was criticized by some conservatives who said it was another example of the military’s mission drift. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP “The elimination of ‘Duty‚ Honor‚ Country’ from West Point’s mission statement is a direct reflection of undesirable shifts in our service academies‚” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said. “The values that have led generations should not be erased to appeal to the cultural moment.” “Wow! #WestPoint announcing they’ve gone full globalist‚” commentator Rachel Campos Duff posted on X. “Purposely tanking recruitment of young Americans patriots to make room for the illegal mercenaries.” “West Point has dropped ‘Duty‚ Honor‚ Country’ from its mission statement and replaced it with the more generic ‘Army Values‚'” conservative think tank Center for Renewing America said. “Is allegiance to country no longer a requirement for U.S. military service?”
