Click to Skip Ahead Characteristics History How They Gained Popularity Formal Recognition Facts Do They Make Good Pets? As gorgeous as they are affectionate, the ever-stunning Persian cat becomes even more so when covered in a luxurious silver coat. Silver Persians have been delighting pet lovers for over a century, giving enthusiastic owners one of the most attractive felines and breeding experts an undeniably captivating variety to draw more interest to the breed. From their sparkling coats to their adoring personalities, Silver Persians are magnificent inside and out. Let’s look at the traits and lifestyle of the Silver Persian cat and discover why many breed experts enthusiastically agree that these are the “Cadillac of cats.” Breed Overview Height:8–10 inches Weight:7–12 pounds Lifespan:11–15 years Colors:Chinchilla silver, shaded silver, blue Chinchilla silver, blue shaded silver Suitable for:Families with children, laid-back owners that like to relax with their cats, owners that don’t mind the grooming demands Temperament:Playful, loving, relaxed, quiet, intelligent, friendly The Silver Persian cat is a color variety of the Persian breed. The long-haired cat takes on a shimmering silver appearance, which many regard as the most dazzling and regal of all Persian coats. There are two varieties, Chinchilla Silvers and Shaded Silvers, which share similar origins and general traits. Silver Persians achieve their classic elegance through stunning points of contrast. The round eyes stand out in remarkable shades of green and blue-green, while a brick-red nose sits below. Black outlines emphasize these and the lips, making the already mesmerizing eyes stand out even further and sharply defining every subtle change in facial expression. Silver Persian Breed Characteristics The Earliest Records of Silver Persians in History While the Persian breed dates to the 1600s, silver-coated cats didn’t garner significant recognition until the 1800s. The Chinchilla Silver Persian cats began with Chinnie, a female born in England in 1882. Chinnie’s unique coloration captured her owner’s interest, and she soon mated with another Silver with tabby markings named Fluffy I. Sadly, Fluffy I and many of Chinnie’s offspring met untimely ends due to various accidents, leaving only her first female, Beauty. Beauty would go on to have several litters. In 1890, her second mating produced Silver Lambkin, a legendary champion and the first of the Chinchilla Silvers. Silver Lambkin sired numerous cats that would significantly impact the breed’s development, and many modern silver cats can trace their lineages to him and his relatives. Image Credit: Linn Currie, Shutterstock How Silver Persian Cats Gained Popularity Silver Lambkin and his offspring, notably Lord Argent and Champion Lord Southampton, were highly influential, appearing in the pedigrees of many modern Silvers. At this time, crossings with blues, Silver Tabbies, and other varieties found their way into the silver lines. Spreading Silver Lambkin’s influence, much of Lord Southampton’s offspring moved across the ocean to develop silver lines in the U.S. by the turn of the century. Lord Argent also came to America in 1901 with his owner and founder of the Silver Society, Mrs. Florence Champion, to establish the Argent line. The Silver Persian’s popularity quickly took off, so much so that Silver Lambkin’s death in 1906 was significant news on both sides of the pond. Formal Recognition of Silver Persian Cats Following Chinnie’s birth in 1882, interest in Silver Persians grew, and the offshoot received its first standalone class at the Crystal Palace Show in 1894. Although detailed records are sparse, many believe Silvers earned recognition upon the Cat Fanciers’ Association’s founding in 1906. Over the years, confusion and lack of agreement over definitions have caused Silvers to move in and out of classes of various color-type combinations. Silver Tabby, Smoke, Cameo, Tortoiseshell, and other Persians mingled in shared divisions as judges struggled to consistently and logically define the differences. Smokes and Cameos were in the Shaded Division with Silvers until 1965 when Smokes got their separate division. In 1977, Golden Persian cats (a recessive variation of silver that produces golden tipping) gained CFA recognition and joined the Shaded Division. Finally, Silvers and Goldens broke from the rest in the mid-1990s, giving us today’s categorizations. Image Credit: Jane Biriukova, Shutterstock Top 2 Unique Facts About Silver Persian Cats 1. Silver Persian Cats Are Tricky to Identify Though Silver Persian cats lie on a spectrum of silver coloring, they fall into one of two color-types: Chinchilla Silver: Chinchillas have a white undercoat and a topcoat featuring subtle black tipping on the back, flanks, head, and tail for a light silver-white appearance Shaded Silver: Guard hairs have more shading on the tips, clearly separating shaded sections from white areas on the ruff, face, and inside the body and making the cat much darker than the Chinchilla The distinction between the different colors and classifications has been up for debate since the earliest Silver Persians. Many people, including judges, can’t decide where a Chinchilla ends and a Shaded begins. The confusion continues today, as some Silver Persians earn a “neither/nor” designation, meaning they don’t clearly fit either mold. Though they’re difficult to interpret, purists say cats should be distinguishable as a Chinchilla or Shaded from a distance. 2. Silver Persians Look Much Different as Kittens A newborn Silver Persian kitten can catch a first-time owner off-guard. While most people know the eyes take a few weeks to take on their natural color, the coat pattern can leave many scratching their heads. The darker coat and markings are the first features you might notice with a Silver Persian kitten. If your cat is a Chinchilla Silver, they’re often born with a Mackerel Tabby pattern featuring slender stripes and spots. Shaded Silvers usually have the blotchy pattern of a Classic Tabby. Though the patterns are well-defined on kittens, the coat lightens, and the markings disappear after around 10 weeks as the hair grows out. Image Credit: Jane Biriukova, Shutterstock Does a Silver Persian Cat Make a Good Pet? Persians have some of the most pleasant personalities of any breed, and the silver-coated variety is no exception. Though sometimes aloof with strangers, they’re easy to get along with and rarely get too loud or temperamental. Silvers have a reputation for being more intelligent and active than other Persians, but they’re still more relaxed than the average cat. In most cases, they’re happiest lounging with their favorite person. Many owners even consider them similar to little dogs with their tendency to shadow their owners. Grooming is usually the most demanding part of owning a Silver. A Persian is a high-maintenance shedder requiring daily grooming. Getting them comfortable with the routine at a young age is crucial. Despite the added challenges, tending to a Chinchilla Persian is also extra-rewarding, as the groomed-out coat creates a gorgeous cloud of delicate silver-tipped hair. Conclusion Regal, exquisite, ethereal. You can pick any of the most common descriptors, and they all point to the Silver Persian being almost too good to be true. For over a century, Chinchilla and Shaded Silvers have brought their unique appeal to the cat fancy, garnering much debate over the years and plenty of appreciation from avid fans worldwide. With a radiant beauty and an enchanting personality to match, Silver Persians make a delightful addition to nearly any household. Bob Good Narrowly Loses Va. Primary Bid to Trump-Backed Challenger, Will Seek Recount

Rep. Bob Good has lost his GOP primary bid in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District against state Sen. John McGuire, a fellow Republican who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, two weeks after the polls closed on June 18, The Associated Press reported. The Virginia Board of Elections certified the election results on Tuesday, with McGuire winning by roughly 375 votes, 0.6% margin, according to the AP. Good said he would ask for a recount. “In a race with nearly 63,000 votes that is separated by a 0.6% margin, Republican voters across the 5th District deserve to know that all legal votes have been accurately counted,” Good’s campaign said in a statement. “We will vigorously pursue that objective over the coming days and weeks, as permitted by Virginia law.” Trump endorsed McGuire, a former Navy SEAL, in May after Good, who chairs the House Freedom Caucus, supported Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida during the presidential primary. Good subsequently endorsed Trump in January after DeSantis dropped out of the race. “My life is a testament to the fact that America is the greatest country on this planet, and I’m so honored to have the chance to serve her again,” McGuire wrote in a post on X on June 19. “Thank you to my family, thank you to everyone who helped out on this campaign, thank you to the people who endorsed and supported me, and thank you to Donald J. Trump for believing in me. There are still a few votes left to count, but it’s clear that all paths end with a victory.” “The entire DC Swamp was aligned against us with over $10 million in attack ads, but with your help we were able to make this race too close to call.” Good wrote in a post on the night of the election. “No matter the outcome, you’ve shown the DC Swamp that you won’t back down from standing for what’s right. Keep the faith and don’t stop fighting now.” Good suggested there were attempts to interfere with the voting process after the election was deemed too close to call. Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., also backed McGuire, Politico reported. Good was one of eight Republicans who voted to oust McCarthy as speaker in October 2023. Other Republican members came to support the state senator, including Reps. Mike Collins of Georgia, William Timmons of South Carolina, and Warren Davidson of Ohio. Davidson serves as the whip for the House Freedom Caucus, and Timmons previously survived a Good-backed primary challenger. Good did retain some endorsements among key GOP representatives. Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida endorsed Good, calling him a “conservative fighter.” Rep. Byron Donalds of Florida also endorsed Good, saying that “there are few people who actually live by conservative principles every single day, and Bob Good is that person.” Republican Reps. Chip Roy of Texas, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, and Eli Crane of Arizona, among others, also endorsed Good. Originally published by the Daily Caller News Foundation The post Bob Good Narrowly Loses Va. MSNBC Claims Supreme Court Ruling Could Make Trump 'King' of America

Following the long awaited Supreme Court decision regarding former President Trump’s limited immunity, the progressive media began yet another doomsday diatribe. On MSNBC’s 11th Hour host Stephanie Ruhle and her co-panelists hit the panic button, claiming that the case allowed for a president like Trump to become a “king,” that there are “practically no limits whatsoever,” and tht Trump “can do whatever he wants.” These claims, not only completely false, exemplify the fear mongering which permeated the media’s agenda. Ruhle began the panel speaking to former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Harry Litman, regarding the decision. Litman responding pessimistically, mourning what the ruling could possibly do to the indictments against Trump: It's somewhat more far-reaching and in particular to that point it just lops off big chunks of the indictment, and it's not at all clear that we have no sort of concrete guidance that obviously saves any part of the indictment. Trump has an argument to make in any context. The point that Andrew just raised, he will fight tooth and nail and say you can't even put on evidence because I would be immune here and they are really cryptic, but it's quite clear if he's acting in a way that can somehow be classified as part of Core Powers, he's immune and immune for a really, I would say, pernicious reason. They cannot look into his motives, which is the core, I think, of what we think he did wrong and the soul of the criminal eye.     Ignoring the fact that ruling did put limits on presidential immunity, Litman proclaimed: “It doesn't matter why he uses powers and that really does make him tantamount to a king.” As the interview continued, Ruhle took time to comment on Trump’s policies and accusing him of breaking the Emoluments Clause, stating, “Donald Trump has an even more wide-open lane, if he were to be president again, to mix his personal business interests with the possible official government role… We saw Ivanka get Chinese trademarks and of course Jared raising money from the Saudis. It infuriated people they talked about the Emoluments clause yet nothing happened.” In reality, there were no breaches of the Emoluments Clause. Trump’s kids were running the business and Trump wasn’t. The Emoluments cases brought against the Trump Hotel in D.C. were thrown out at both appellate and Supreme Court levels, both during and after his presidency. And it’s rather hypocritical of Ruhle to have issues with the private business deals of Trump’s children and family members when she and MSNBC defended Hunter Biden’s shady overseas business dealings; especially when his case, the jobs he held were in industries he had no expertise in. As a crowning fault, Susan Gasser, a New Yorker staff writer, denied the entirety of Justice Roberts’ opinion, claiming the potentiality of a future President Trump without any checks: It's a breathtaking decision and you can only imagine that Donald Trump, he is a maximizer. He will seek to push the limits, whatever the limits are, and now the Supreme Court has basically said there are practically no limits whatsoever. Of course, he's going to claim that basically any conduct that he engages in is ipso facto, official conduct, and therefore he can do whatever he wants. More misinformation and propaganda, as the liberal media continued to fear monger the public into following its agenda. The transcript is below, click “expand” to read: MSNBC The 11th Hour 7/1/2024 11:07:26 PM EST (...) STEPHANIE RUHLE: How does today's decision compare with what you expected to see? HARRY LITMAN: It's somewhat more far-reaching and in particular to that point it just lops off big chunks of the indictment, and it's not at all clear that we have no sort of concrete guidance that obviously saves any part of the indictment. Trump has an argument to make in any context. The point that Andrew just raised, he will fight tooth and nail and say you can't even put on evidence because I would be immune here and they are really cryptic, but it's quite clear if he's acting in a way that can somehow be classified as part of Core Powers, he's immune and immune for a really, I would say, pernicious reason, they cannot look into his motives, which is the core, I think, of what we think he did wrong and the soul of the criminal eye. It doesn't matter why he uses powers and that really does make him tantamount to a king.   RUHLE: Core powers, all right, guys, you know whatever the case maybe, I'm always going to try to connect it to money and power, so I want to talk the business impact, because now Donald Trump has an even more wide-open lane, if he were to be president again, to mix his personal business interests with the possible official government role. If you remember, early in his presidency, he claimed there could be no conflicts of interest for a president and then he steamrolled through his four years with the Trump hotel in DC, events at Doral, events at Mar-a-Lago, all different lobbyist groups, foreign governments booking up rooms, basically soft bribing him with paying his businesses. We saw Ivanka get Chinese trademarks and, of course, Jared raising money from the Saudis. It infuriated people they talked about the Emoluments Clause, yet nothing happened. And now he is going to have an even easier time if he were to be president, again. Susan, the irony of all this, it's reported today that the Trump family just inked a deal for Trump Tower Saudi Arabia   SUSAN GLASSER: But, of course they did, Steph. Look, it's a breathtaking decision and you can only imagine that Donald Trump, he is a maximizer. He will seek to push the limits, whatever the limits are, and now the Supreme Court has basically said there are practically no limits whatsoever. Of course, he's going to claim that basically any conduct that he engages in is ipso facto, official conduct, and therefore he can do whatever he wants.

Prosecutors attacked underage victims as prostitutes to sabotage 2006 case against Epstein, new transcripts appear to show

Prosecutors handling a grand jury trial proceeding against Jeffrey Epstein in 2006 may have sabotaged their own case by attacking two underage victims as prostitutes and criminals, newly released transcripts appear to show.On Monday, Circuit Judge Luis Delgado released about 150 pages of a transcript taken during Epstein's four-hour grand jury hearing in Palm Beach County in July 2006. Though grand jury transcripts are usually sealed permanently, Florida's Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law earlier this year to ensure the public's access to grand jury transcripts in certain cases such as Epstein's.'Does her website also include pictures of her in skimpy attire, drinking alcohol and sexually provocative photos?'Delgado seemed eager to disseminate the transcripts, indicating it was necessary to preserve the integrity of the court. "For almost 20 years, the story of how Jeffrey Epstein victimized some of Palm Beach County’s most vulnerable has been the subject of much anger and has at times diminished the public’s perception of the criminal justice system," he wrote. "The details in the record will be outrageous to decent people. The testimony taken by the Grand Jury concerns activity ranging from grossly unacceptable to rape — all of the conduct at issue is sexually deviant, disgusting, and criminal."Delgado did not exaggerate. The transcripts appear to show former State's Attorney Barry Krischer and Lanna Belohlavek painting two victims as criminals and prostitutes. The first victim testified that she was just 14 years old when she first went to Epstein's mansion to give him a massage in exchange for $300. At Epstein's request, she allegedly stripped down to her underwear, gave him a massage, and then allowed him to use a vibrator on her for an extra $100.The girl also admitted that she lied and told Epstein she was 18. It is unclear how many encounters she may have had with Epstein. About a year after her initial visit to his mansion, the girl's stepmother found the money, learned the reason Epstein had given it to her, and reported the girl's claims to local police.Despite evidence that the girl was likely the victim of statutory rape and sexual grooming, prosecutors called her out as a criminal."You aware that you committed a crime?" prosecutor Belohlavek asked the girl during the grand jury hearing. The girl replied that she didn't realize at the time that what she had done was a crime but had since come to realize that it was. "Now, I guess it's prostitution or something like that," she said.A juror also asked the girl whether she knew "deep down" when she was going to Epstein's mansion that what she was doing was "wrong" and damaging to her "reputation." The girl replied that she did.The other victim who testified at the grand jury proceeding claimed that she had visited Epstein's mansion more than 100 times, and during the course of those visits, Epstein gradually convinced her to participate in more and more sexual activity in exchange for $200. She also received money and even a rental car for her personal use if she brought along other girls, she said."He told her, 'The younger, the better,'" Palm Beach Police Detective Joe Recarey testified at the hearing. The girl said Epstein knew she was 17 from the start of these visits. On the day before her 18th birthday, Epstein allegedly escalated their encounters to intercourse for the first time. "She screamed no," Recarey testified. So Epstein reportedly stopped and paid the girl $1,000.Once again, prosecutors appeared to impugn the girl's character."You understand that you in effect were committing prostitution yourself," one said.At various times during the hearing, Krischer and Belohlavek also harped on the girls' body piercings, their shoplifting escapades, their arrests for other alleged crimes, and how much money they made from Epstein. During the testimony of one investigator, one prosecutor even asked, "Does her [MySpace page] also include pictures of her in skimpy attire, drinking alcohol and sexually provocative photos?"'It is so sad, the number of victims Epstein was able to abuse because the State carried water for him when they had a chance to put him away.'Though the grand jury transcript does not reveal all the possible charges on which the grand jury could have indicted Epstein, the grand jury ultimately indicted him on a single count of solicitation of prostitution. In an agreement with federal prosecutors two years later, Epstein pled guilty to that original solicitation charge plus an additional count of soliciting a minor into prostitution. He served 13 months of an 18-month sentence in a low-security prison with almost daily work release, so he was able to return to his office on a regular basis. With the newly released transcripts, critics are once again appalled at the way prosecutors handled the initial case. Spencer Kuvin, who represented nine of Epstein's alleged victims, including one of the girls who testified before the grand jury, called it "despicable" and "atrocious.""They basically tanked their own case," he said."It just reaffirmed what we always knew was happening is that the state attorney was afraid to prosecute him, and that they tanked their own case by attacking their own witnesses during the grand jury proceeding," he added. "It was almost like the grand jury proceeding was an attempt to prosecute the teenagers and ignore Epstein."Brad Edwards, another attorney for some of Epstein's alleged victims, made similar comments, claiming prosecutors wanted the grand jury "to return minimal" charges against Jeffrey Epstein — "if any.""A fraction of the evidence was presented, in a misleading way, and the Office portrayed the victims as criminals," Edwards continued. "It is so sad, the number of victims Epstein was able to abuse because the State carried water for him when they had a chance to put him away."Detective Recarey died in 2018. Epstein then died the following year while awaiting federal trial in New York. Reports indicate he hanged himself in his prison cell.Krischer did not respond to a request for comment from the AP about the transcript but has previously defended his handling of the case. "No matter how my office resolved the state charges, the U.S. Attorney's Office always had the ability to file its own federal charges," he said in a statement in 2019.The Miami Herald attempted to reach Belohlavek for comment but was unsuccessful.Like Blaze News? Los Angeles man chases down suspects' car after robbery, rear-ends it into crash that kills one suspect, police say

California police said that a man who was targeted in a robbery used his car to chase down the suspects, rear-ended their vehicle, and caused a crash that killed one of the suspects. The astonishing sequence unfolded on Saturday evening after the 21-year-old victim was approached by a group of armed men at a gas station in Culver City and robbed, according to a police press release. 'One of the suspects was found hiding in the backyard of a home by a K9 unit.' The man chased after the suspects' white sedan in his Mercedes-Benz SUV, and some time later, rear-ended the car, forcing it to crash into a light pole near Adams Boulevard and West View Street. Police said they responded to calls about the car accident at about 5:28 p.m., and when they arrived, they found one of the suspects dead from his injuries in the crash. He was described only as a man in his thirties. Other suspects fled from the scene after the crash and fired a gun at the victim during their escape. One of the suspects was found hiding in the backyard of a home by a K-9 unit and taken into custody. Police said the victim stayed at the scene of the crash and cooperated with the police investigation. They did not say whether he was detained, but they did confirm that the case was being investigated as a homicide. The victim was not injured, and the police are still investigating the incident. Recent statistics from the LAPD show that violent crime has increased in Los Angeles by 2.9% while robberies have increased by 9.5%. Interim Los Angeles Police Chief Dominic Choi told a meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners that homicide had increased by a whopping 28.1% from 73 homicides through March compared to only 57 homicides in the same period the previous year. Some critics have blamed worsening crime on liberal criminal enforcement policies by District Attorney George Gascón, who was elected with the help of millions in donations from left-wing billionaire George Soros. Culver City is a city in Los Angeles County of about 40k residents. The average home in the city costs about $1.3 million, according to Zillow, while the average rent for an apartment with two bedrooms is $3,239, according to Apartments.com. Like Blaze News?
