A Firm Stance Against Showing One’s Toes

They’re predicting days of extreme heat back home, and I know what’s coming. As a writer, my calling is to focus on what’s truly important for world peace, so I want to head off the disaster and make things clear from the start: I’m a staunch advocate for keeping everyone’s feet — including the toes — covered at all times. Showing your toes to the world is a sign of sociopathy, filth, and an obvious sympathy for ISIS. The mere sight of another man’s toes is as repulsive to me as any spider — and that’s saying something for an arachnophobe like me, who faints at the sight of those hairy critters dragging their bad vibes around. Last night, I saw one in my room and let out such a massive scream that it dropped dead of a heart attack on the spot. Naturally, I didn’t perform an autopsy, but that distinctive folding of the legs, like an umbrella folding in slow motion, is a clear sign of a spider heart attack. Now the so-called science experts in dumb newspapers are saying we should go barefoot. I think I preferred it when they were telling us to start eating insects because they’re packed with protein and it would save a bunch of cows. I’m not totally against it. I’ll jump on board as soon as someone figures out how to make a tasty Big Mac with mosquito meat. As Gómez Dávila wrote, civilization is about dressing up, not stripping off, and this applies especially to feet. Showing your toes to the world is a sign of sociopathy, filth, and an obvious sympathy for ISIS. I’ve got nothing against those poised, stylish young women who wear elegant sandals with grace, but beyond that, subjecting passersby to the intimidating presence of bouncing toes should be outlawed. Of all the horrible things feet suggest, the worst isn’t their smell — it’s the dull sight of those evolutionary missteps we call toes. Without toes, a foot looks even more grotesque, so chopping them off isn’t the answer, especially since doctors say you can’t walk without them. Personally, I disagree: I often leave my toes at home and don’t fall over, but I always make sure to stuff my feet into shoes before stepping onto that hostile, dangerous thing we call a sidewalk. Besides the quality of good wine, the big toe is what keeps the human body stable. That chubby little guy is responsible for our balance, even during those drunken moments when the Earth decides to spin just for the fun of seeing how many idiots it can knock over. You get back up, of course — that’s what toes are for too — but all those balancing operations can happen just fine with your feet covered, without needing to broadcast your solidarity with indigenous communities. Preserving their culture is vital for any advanced society, but airing your feet in the middle of the street is a shady, dangerous act that clashes with good manners, most holy scriptures, and Western values. I read in the health columns that experts are now insisting it’s time to go barefoot, claiming it’s good for our health. They suggest starting at home and then making it a day long habit. I’m ready to bet soon these same experts will discover that rubbing two stones together makes fire, that a drumbeat can communicate with tribes across the river, and they’ll figure out how to make a spear from mammoth bones. Then we’ll all be ready to dance naked to summon rain, duel with sharpened sticks bare-chested, and eat the losers. At least it’ll be entertaining. Trade Deficits Caused by Budget Deficits

America is in the midst of a divisive argument regarding Donald Trump’s use of tariffs to reduce our trade deficit with other countries — the controversy began when the president first mentioned his intent to employ them. Specifically, the discourse focuses on whether tariffs are beneficial in managing trade imbalances. The answer lies in dealing with their root cause: government overspending. Many on social media argue that protectionist advocates err in believing that tariffs increase GDP by impeding imports. While it’s true that imports are subtracted from GDP, this reduction is merely an accounting adjustment to avoid redundant overcounting. GDP accounts for domestic production only — yet, some government spending, investment, and consumption expenditures are spent on goods and services produced overseas. Taxing imports with tariffs will not predispose to increased GDP. This misunderstanding of government accounting, however, is not the real issue of concern regarding the U.S. trade deficit. The latter is symptomatic of more fundamental structural issues in the U.S. economy. And these issues are not easily remedied by tariffs; thus, they deserve our serious attention. While trade deficits can be a problem — the real issue is the underlying reason for trade deficits. Trade Deficits are Linked to Debt A trade deficit occurs when a country imports more goods and services than it exports, essentially spending more than it earns. From the vantage point of national accounting, the U.S. is spending beyond its income (revenue from taxes). The shortfall between income and spending must be addressed. America fills the gap by going into debt — we borrow by selling U.S. Treasury securities. Depending upon a nation’s economic circumstances, borrowing can be productive. There have been times in the history of the United States when borrowing has led to significant economic growth. Today, the circumstances surrounding U.S. borrowing is less encouraging. When debt is used for consumption — it becomes problematic. What is financed does not guarantee a future return — the debt incurred must be repaid through other sources of revenue. This is where the U.S. gets into trouble. The trade deficit is essentially the other side of the financial account surplus ledger. This means that foreign capital is flowing into the United States, largely in the form of investments in U.S. Treasury bonds and other financial assets. These funds are used to finance federal government spending, which usually exceeds revenue, leading to sustained budget deficits. The trade deficit and the budget deficit are, therefore, linked. The nature of these two deficits is such that the U.S. government borrows not to invest in future growth but, in large measure, to fund current consumption (i.e. expenditures) tied to federal spending. This is fiscally an “unhealthy” type of borrowing, like financing a vacation — it creates instability and makes the U.S. economy vulnerable to the vicissitudes of global economics. What Doesn’t Work Congress often reaches for simple, ostensibly “obvious” solutions — like tariffs. The reasoning goes like this: if the country has a hefty trade deficit, simply make imports more expensive and reduce the volume. Unfortunately, this fiscal response overlooks a bigger problem. Most economists believe that tariffs are not an efficient or even an effective means of reducing trade deficits. During the first Trump administration (much like today), tariffs were placed on a wide range of imported goods — the goal was to reduce the trade imbalance. Yet, instead of shrinking, the trade deficit increased. This was partly due to the underlying macroeconomic environment; this comprised a significant increase in government spending and corresponding budget deficits. Tariffs may have reduced some imports, but they did nothing to address the broader economic forces fueling the trade deficits. Trade deficits are ensconced in broader economic issues — especially fiscal policy. As long as the U.S. runs large budget deficits, financed partly by foreign capital flows, the trade deficit is unlikely to diminish measurably. What Works If tariffs by themselves won’t get the job done, how can America shrink its trade deficit? The answer lies in dealing with their root cause: government overspending. By reducing the budget deficit, the need for foreign capital inflows would diminish — the trade deficit would likely follow. However, cutting government spending (e.g. DOGE) is easier said than done, especially when both political parties have shown a proclivity towards fiscal stimulation (expansion). And nobody is suggesting cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security, which make up half the budget. Another solution is to alter how foreign capital is utilized. Today, the foreign capital coming into the U.S. ends up in Treasury bonds, effectively financing government expenditures. The U.S. could, alternatively, navigate this capital into income-producing investments. The U.S. could establish a sovereign wealth fund which would invest capital in assets overseas, similar to the approach taken by some Gulf oil-producing states or China and Norway. This would predispose to foreign capital inflows being employed to generate future income — rather than essentially spending it on current consumption — expenditures. President Trump recently proposed a national wealth fund for the U.S. The discourse over trade deficits and tariffs is often framed in simplistic terms: either trade deficits are innocuous, or they are injurious and must be addressed with protectionist measures. The reality, of course, is not that simple. America needs to recognize the larger macroeconomic imbalances that come into play. What is needed is a more subtle understanding of the current U.S. trade deficit — one that recognizes it as a symptom of more fundamental fiscal imbalances rather than a problem that can be solved through trade policy alone. Addressing the trade deficit will require a combination of efforts: addressing the budget deficit, reducing excessive consumption and creating ways to steer foreign capital into productive investments. Short of this realization, we are likely to repeat the errors of history — attempting to solve trade imbalances without removing the root of their causation. READ MORE from F. Last week, we learned that Juan Carlos Mora, a 24-year-old Venezuelan man with a daughter of his own, was arrested in Ohio after spending more than a year enrolled at a local high school. He said he was 17. He wasn’t. He sat in classrooms with minors. He changed in locker rooms with underage boys. He played on the school soccer team. No one checked. No one verified. Until a biometric scan exposed the lie, everyone went along with it. This isn’t simply a violation of immigration policy — it’s a moral failure. Age fraud in this context isn’t victimless. Mora was arrested on May 21, 2025, and is now in ICE custody. He crossed the southern border illegally in early 2024, claimed to be a minor, and was placed in a taxpayer-funded youth shelter. From there, the system took over — enrolling him in school, assigning him legal protection, and shielding him from deportation. All based on nothing but his word. This wasn’t a bureaucratic mix-up. It was the predictable outcome of a policy that treats skepticism as cruelty. Under U.S. law, any migrant who claims to be under 18 must be treated as a minor unless definitively proven otherwise. But documentation is rarely demanded. Medical checks are almost never used. In 2023, more than 122,000 “unaccompanied minors” were processed. Seventy-two percent were male. Many arrived without papers. Most weren’t challenged. And the cartels? They know the script. According to CBP testimony and GAO oversight, adult migrants are regularly coached to say they’re 16 or 17. Tear up your ID. Say you’re a kid. The system is designed to believe you. The rest is just acting. This isn’t just an American issue. In the UK, a tribunal recently ruled that a Sudanese man — described by government assessors as likely between 23 and 25 — was actually 16. Why? Because there wasn’t “definitive” medical evidence proving otherwise. That earned him taxpayer-funded housing, a school placement, and over £30,000 in legal aid. British Home Office data shows that 1,300 false minor claims were recorded in 2025 alone. Between 2019 and 2024, 22.8 percent of Sudanese male asylum seekers arriving in the UK claimed to be under 18. Many were placed in schools with underage girls. Teachers raised concerns. Local councils raised red flags. But instead of fixing the problem, officials looked the other way. Sweden’s forensic medicine agency took a more honest approach. In 2017, the government introduced wrist and dental scans to assess the age of claimants. The results? Eighty-four percent were adults. But the policy was too effective. It was quietly scaled back. Germany has stuck with it. In 2019, over 3,200 assessments were conducted. Forty percent were adults. Minors at Risk What’s happening across the West isn’t just denial—it’s institutionalized self-delusion. Systems administrators increasingly prefer to be fooled than risk being called heartless. The real-world consequences? In an Arizona school district, a teacher flagged a new “17-year-old” student who looked closer to 30. Her concerns were dismissed. A few months later, that man assaulted a classmate. The school insisted it had followed procedure. And it had. The Juan Carlos Mora case isn’t an outlier — it’s a warning. It highlights a profound ethical breach: an adult man, posing as a teenager, admitted into a high school, embedded within a community, and accepted into spaces meant exclusively for minors. This isn’t simply a violation of immigration policy — it’s a moral failure. Age fraud in this context isn’t victimless. It introduces risk where there should be protection, and forces families, educators, and children to carry consequences they never chose. Placing someone who is not a child among those who are — before verification and without scrutiny — is not compassion. It is a failure to uphold the basic duty of care owed to the most vulnerable. If police officers were truly trigger-happy villains with badges, then years of public scorn, nonstop surveillance, and career-ending viral videos should’ve slowed them down. Instead, the New York Times tells us police killings are up — and not just up, but climbing steadily since George Floyd’s death. That’s the narrative. But it doesn’t pass the smell test. Officers today operate under immense scrutiny. They’re more cautious, not less. Every traffic stop could mean a headline, every call could end their career. And yet we’re expected to believe they’re killing more people than ever? Even the Times…. concedes that the killings of unarmed individuals have dropped sharply, by nearly two-thirds since 2015. That’s not nothing. I thought something was off. I was right. Five years after Floyd’s death, the Times has returned with what it calls an investigation but reads more like a carefully engineered parable. The headline screams injustice. The graphs are clean, the moral is preloaded, and the nuance is dead on arrival. It’s not journalism — it’s storytelling with a purpose. And that purpose is not to understand, but to indict. Let’s start with the headline claim: police killings are rising. That part is true. But so is serious violent crime, drug abuse, gun ownership, and untreated mental illness. And when you combine all of these — violent crime, drugs, guns, and broken minds — you don’t get a country suffering from “police brutality.” You get a country coming apart at the seams. But the  Times will never say that. Because if it did — if it dared to center the chaos on the ground instead of pointing a sanctimonious finger upward — the entire moral scaffolding would crumble. The problem wouldn’t be cops. It would be a society addicted, armed, and on the edge. And that truth doesn’t trend. That doesn’t sell. It just hurts. Instead, we get the usual bait-and-switch. Armed suspects charging at officers with knives or guns are lumped in with rare, horrific abuses, framed in a way that makes every police killing look like a cold-blooded execution. Context is stripped. Detail blurred. Because nuance, much like truth, doesn’t trend. Even the Times, in its own data, acknowledges that most of those killed were armed. It also concedes that the killings of unarmed individuals have dropped sharply, by nearly two-thirds since 2015. That’s not nothing. That’s progress. But you wouldn’t know it. Those facts are smothered under charts and buried in footnotes. They don’t serve the outrage machine. They don’t fuel hashtags. So they get the quiet treatment. Then comes the ideological spin: blue states good, red states bad. Reform-minded cities saw fewer killings, we’re told. Conservative states, meanwhile, are painted as blood-soaked backwaters. But the data doesn’t support that kind of moral geometry. Crime has surged in major liberal cities, and the cities drive state crime rates. Police are pulling back from proactive enforcement in places like San Francisco and Chicago — not because reform worked, but because officers are afraid of becoming the next viral villain. Meanwhile, in many red states, violence has spilled into suburban and rural areas where police departments are understaffed and undertrained. But the Times doesn’t want to explore that. It just wants red state scapegoats. It gets worse. The article actually floats the idea that rising distrust in police, stoked, let’s not forget, by this very paper, might be contributing to more fatal encounters. That’s rich. The  Times, along with half the liberal press, spent the better part of a decade demonizing police officers as racist executioners, foot soldiers of white supremacy, enforcers of a system that must be dismantled. They didn’t just criticize — they castigated. Turned beat cops into villains. Turned restraint into oppression. Night after night, headline after headline, they poured acid on the public’s faith in law enforcement. And now, with a straight face, they wonder why people are resisting arrest more often. They wonder why traffic stops turn sour and routine encounters turn violent. It’s like soaking a crowd in gasoline, striking a match with a smile, tossing it in, then playing dumb when the whole place goes up in smoke. There’s also a lazy attempt to blame Trump, as if a few unsigned memos in Washington somehow triggered a nationwide meltdown. It’s as if federal oversight was the dam holding back the tide. It wasn’t, and everyone knows it. We don’t need more bureaucrats breathing down officers’ necks from behind desks in Washington. If policing is breaking down, it has nothing to do with a shortage of paperwork and everything to do with a society in freefall. Most of these officers, underpaid, overstretched, and thrown into impossible situations without real support, aren’t out there failing because the DOJ missed a compliance audit. They’re failing because they’re human. Because they’re the last ones standing in neighborhoods decimated by fatherlessness, drowning in fentanyl, and stalked by untreated psychosis. They’re asked to do everything: calm schizophrenics, comfort overdose victims, talk down suicidal teens, chase armed suspects, all while knowing one wrong move means career ruin — or a funeral. They’re not jackbooted thugs. They’re overworked triage nurses for a culture hemorrhaging at every vein. But the Times won’t print that. Too sympathetic. Too real. So instead, they toss the blame upstream, because it’s easier to accuse than to understand. Easier to sneer from Manhattan than to patrol in Memphis. What’s also missing — conspicuously — is any real concern for the victims of crime, the people police are sworn to protect. In this narrative, the only deaths worth mourning are those that come at the hands of law enforcement. The thousands of black Americans gunned down in their own neighborhoods every year? Ghosts. The parents who beg for more patrols while politicians talk about “reimagining public safety”? Inconvenient. This selective empathy isn’t compassion — it’s politics. The article ends, predictably, with a nod to “broader societal factors” that go “beyond the police.” A throwaway line, like a legal disclaimer. But if you take that idea seriously, the entire argument collapses. Because if police troubles are downstream from larger cultural, economic, and spiritual decay, then the problem isn’t just training or oversight. It’s the nation itself. The shooter, Elias Rodriguez, a self-proclaimed revolutionary and documented member of a far-left extremist group, left behind a manifesto soaked in anti-Israel venom, radical anti-Western ideology, and clear antisemitic hatred. America must wake up to the reality that extremism is not confined to one side of the aisle. While the Trump administration offered strong condemnations and the media scrambled for facts, one truth was glaringly omitted from much of the early coverage: this was an act of ideological terror rooted not in the boogeyman of “right-wing extremism,” but in a virulent strain of leftist radicalism that has been festering in plain sight. Rodriguez’s social affiliations, as confirmed by The Times of Israel, Reuters, and Israel Hayom, tie him to organizations known for promoting anti-Israel, pro-BDS rhetoric, movements increasingly normalized within academic institutions, activist spaces, and even the Democratic Party’s progressive flank. His manifesto, now public, reads like a mashup of far-left academic jargon and revolutionary violence: Zionism is labeled a “colonial cancer,” and Israel is portrayed as a Western imperial outpost deserving “armed resistance.” This is not just random violence. It’s the logical consequence of a climate where hatred of Israel has been rebranded as social justice, and where “decolonization” is no longer a metaphor but a call to arms. Left and Right Extremism Not Treated Equally The double standard is stark. Had Rodriguez been a white nationalist or a self-identified conservative, legacy media outlets would have had his political affiliations in every headline. Editorial pages would be ablaze with demands to crack down on “right-wing terror.” Congressional hearings would be underway. And yet when a leftist zealot kills Jews, the coverage is cautious, euphemistic, or simply silent. This silence is dangerous. Antisemitism doesn’t come from only one direction. While the right is endlessly scrutinized for any whiff of extremism, the left has cultivated its own ecosystem of hate under the cover of human rights advocacy. Groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, which have echoed similar language to Rodriguez’s, are protected on campuses under free speech, even as they normalize violence and dehumanization. Let us be clear: Elias Rodriguez did not act in a vacuum. He was radicalized by a movement that is being tolerated, platformed, and in some cases praised by the liberal establishment. His ideology mirrors the rhetoric of certain members of Congress who have equated Israeli defense actions with genocide and accused Israel of apartheid without acknowledging Hamas terrorism or Iran’s involvement. The deaths of these Israeli diplomats should be a turning point. The Trump administration must designate the attack for what it is: far-left antisemitic terrorism. The Department of Justice must investigate the radical networks that bred this ideology. And universities and NGOs must be held accountable for enabling rhetoric that incites hate and violence under the guise of activism. The press, too, must reckon with its bias. If a shooter’s ideology is relevant when it leans right, it is equally relevant when it leans left. If we are to have an honest conversation about domestic extremism, we must be willing to name all of its forms. This was not just an attack on Israel. It was an attack on diplomacy, decency, and on the idea that civil society can survive in the face of political fanaticism. America must wake up to the reality that extremism is not confined to one side of the aisle. And neither is the blood it spills. As Dr. Blaylock writes: Dr. Olney, one of the leading researchers in this area, felt compelled to do something to protect unsuspecting mothers and their infants from this danger. First he informed the FDA of the real danger to human infants and encouraged them to take action. But they refused. His only recourse was to go public with what he knew to be true – MSG was a dangerous compound that should not be added to infant foods. It was only after his testimony before a Congressional committee that the food manufacturers agreed to remove MSG from baby foods. But did they really? Instead of adding pure MSG, they added a substance known as hydrolyzed vegetable protein that contains three known excitotoxins and has added MSG. As we shall see later this substance is even more dangerous than MSG. They continued this practice for seven more years, and there is evidence that excitotoxins are still added to baby foods today. Usually these are in the form of caseinate, beef or chicken broth, or flavoring. Another type of food sold by these manufacturers is directed at toddlers. At least some of these foods contain hydrolyzed vegetable protein. Experimentally we know that the brain is extremely vulnerable to excitotoxins even at this stage of development. In this book I shall present research findings and discuss experiments that will demonstrate that glutamate and other excitotoxins can alter the way the brain is formed during development. It is hypothesized by some neuroscientists that exposure to these powerful compounds early in life could cause developmental brain defects that would produce learning difficulties and behavioral problems as the child grows older. There is also some evidence that it may contribute to violent behavior as well. In experimental animals ‘MSG babies’ are found to be short in stature, obese, and to have difficulty reproducing. This effect only becomes evident long after the initial MSG exposure. More detailed studies have found that “MSG babies” have severe disorders involving several hormones normally produced by the hypothalamus. Unfortunately, MSG is not the only taste enhancing food additive known to cause damage to the nervous system. In fact, there is a whole class of chemicals that can produce very similar damage – they all share one important property. When neurons are exposed to these substances, they become very excited and fire their impulses very rapidly until they reach a state of extreme exhaustion. Several hours later these neurons suddenly die as if the cells were excited to death. As a result, neuroscientists have dubbed this class of chemicals “excitotoxins”. From the book by Dr. Blaylock: Then in 1957 two ophthalmology residents, Lucas and Newhouse, tested monosodium glutamate and aspartate on infant and adult mice while studying a particular eye disorder. What they found came as a complete surprise. After completing the experiment they sacrificed the animals and examined their tissues under the microscope. Of the animals that had been tested with monosodium glutamate, virtually all of the nerve cells in the inner layer of the animals’ retinas had been destroyed. The worst damage occurred in the newborn mice, but even the adults showed significant injury. They also found that the amino acid aspartate caused similar, though less severe, damage. Keep in mind that aspartate is one of the main ingredients in NutraSweet—the artificial sweetener. Unfortunately this important finding went virtually unnoticed by the medical world, and especially by the food industry, which at the time was adding tons of MSG to foods, including baby foods. Hidden Names for MSG in Food Ingredients Big Food uses trickery to hide MSG behind innocent-sounding ingredients. Even “natural” or “organic” products can contain hidden glutamate derivatives. From Dr. Blaylock: Dr. Olney’s studies on various species of test animals disclosed that MSG, when fed in doses similar to those found in human diets, destroys hypothalamic neurons. This type of hypothalamic damage produces a particular syndrome in animals which caused them to be short in stature, obese, and to have reproductive problems. Later experiments demonstrated that MSG could cause the hypothalamus to secrete excessive amounts of a reproductive hormone which is associated with an early onset of puberty. In 1974, Dr. Olney demonstrated that MSG, when fed to pregnant Rhesus monkeys, could cause brain damage to their offspring. Other researchers found similar results when pregnant rats were fed MSG. Yet millions of pregnant women continued to eat foods laced with MSG and other equally potent excitotoxins while the FDA remained silent. And gynecologists and pediatricians were not told to warn their patients of this real danger. After birth and following weaning from bottled or breast milk, most mothers begin feeding their babies food from the table.
