White House Copies Kamala, Who Copied Trump’s Proposal To End Taxes On Tips

The Biden administration is copying Vice President Kamala Harris’ pledge to end taxes on tips for service workers, which Harris has been accused of stealing from her opponent President Donald Trump. During a White House press briefing on Monday afternoon, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that President Joe Biden “supports eliminating taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.” Jean-Pierre was asked about the issue after Harris made a campaign promise to eliminate taxing service workers’ tips during a rally in Las Vegas on Saturday. Trump made the same promise in the same city two months before Harris did. “This is something the president supports. He supports eliminating taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers while also raising the minimum wage and preventing the wealthy from gaining[sic] the system,” Jean-Pierre said. WH press sec: “[Biden] supports eliminating taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers…” pic.twitter.com/pYrB09waAk — The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) August 12, 2024 Asked if Harris stole the proposal from Trump as the Republican nominee argued, the White House press secretary replied, “I’m not going to respond to a presidential candidate, and I think their campaigns speak to that directly. What I can say is this president, this vice president, have always had the backs of working people, always. And you see that in the policies that they have put forward.” When asked if Kamala got the idea of eliminating taxes on tips from Trump, the WH press sec says “What I can say is this President, this Vice President, have always had the backs of the working people.” pic.twitter.com/QumlMm1gsn — The Post Millennial (@TPostMillennial) August 12, 2024 Harris told her supporters in Las Vegas on Saturday, “It is my promise to everyone here, when I am president we will continue our fight for working families of America, including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.” During his rally in Las Vegas on June 9, Trump said, “For those hotel workers and people that get tips, you’re going to be very happy because when I get to office we are going to not charge taxes on tips.” The promise from Harris and the White House is an apparent shift in policy after the Biden administration sought to “improve tip reporting compliance” to the IRS in February of 2023. The Service Industry Tip Compliance Agreement (SITCA) program is optional for employers to enroll, but the IRS eventually wants it to become the “sole tip reporting compliance program for employers in various service industries” and eliminate several other tip reporting processes. Trump blasted Harris on Truth Social, arguing that she won’t follow through on her campaign promise. “Kamala Harris, whose ‘Honeymoon’ period is ENDING, and is starting to get hammered in the Polls, just copied my NO TAXES ON TIPS Policy,” he wrote. “The difference is, she won’t do it, she just wants it for Political Purposes! This was a TRUMP idea – She has no ideas, she can only steal from me. Remember, Kamala has proposed the LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY – It won’t happen. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Tim Pearce contributed to this report.

Freedom Caucus Unveils Plan To Protect Trump From ‘Lame Duck’ Omnibus, Shore Up Election Integrity

Freedom Caucus Unveils Plan To Protect Trump From ‘Lame Duck’ Omnibus, Shore Up Election Integrity

The conservative House Freedom Caucus unveiled on Monday a strategy that seeks to avoid a “lame duck” omnibus package that could extend Democrat priorities into a second term of Donald Trump as president and would throw in a bill that requires voters to prove citizenship. Congress has until the end of September to pass legislation to fund the various arms of the federal government or face the prospect of a shutdown, but the GOP-led House is not expected to return from summer recess until three weeks before that deadline. If lawmakers cannot pass individual spending bills, they could resort to a massive omnibus full of pork and perks. The Freedom Caucus, which includes a few dozen members, “believes that House Republicans should return to Washington to continue the work of passing all 12 appropriations bills to cut spending and advance our policy priorities,” the group said in a new statement. “Stop Illegals from Voting and Block The Biden-Harris Omnibus” pic.twitter.com/dPJ3Gh3GyY — House Freedom Caucus (@freedomcaucus) August 12, 2024 “If unsuccessful, in the inevitability that Congress considers a Continuing Resolution, government funding should be extended into early 2025 to avoid a lame duck omnibus that preserves Democrat spending and policies well into the next administration,” the statement continued. Such a plan for a stop-gap measure bets against Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced President Joe Biden atop the Democratic Party’s ticket, prevailing in the November election as the group noted atop its statement that it would “ensure Democrats cannot undermine” a second Trump term with an omnibus in December. The Freedom Caucus also called for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which aims to require individuals show proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in elections for federal office and pushes states to remove non-citizens from voter rolls, to be added to the short-term spending bill. “Furthermore, the Continuing Resolution should include the SAVE Act — as called for by President Trump — to prevent non-citizens from voting to preserve free and fair elections in light of the millions of illegal aliens imported by the Biden-Harris administration over the last four years,” the group said. While the House passed the SAVE Act in July with some bipartisan support, the Democrat-led Senate has not taken it up and the Biden administration signaled its opposition to the legislation. Democrats may rally behind the idea of a continuing resolution, but there could be a flashpoint with conservatives over the SAVE Act. House conservatives failed to get border security reforms attached to a short-term spending bill the chamber passed earlier this year. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) told The Hill last week that lawmakers were “having some very thoughtful discussion about the pros and cons of the various strategies” on avoiding a government shutdown. He said a decision was “not yet determined, but it will be very soon.” Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), a Trump ally, said on Monday that he backs the Freedom Caucus’s latest plan. “This is the way. It is the last chance for Democrats (and a few Republicans) to sabotage President Trump’s next term, fund Biden’s disastrous policies, and leave the door open to illegal voting. Don’t let it happen,” Lee said in a post to X. Government spending is no small issue as the national debt, which has surged under Republican and Democrat administrations in the White House in recent years, surpassed $35 trillion for the first time last month. Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), a former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, warned the debt was on track to reach $36 trillion by mid-November. “Today, the U.S. national debt hit $35 trillion – that’s $104,497 PER PERSON – and by mid-November, it’ll reach $36 trillion,” Perry said on X. “The Biden-Harris administration’s push for more out-of-control spending is unacceptable, and further imperils our great Nation.”

Trump Camp Being Sued By Family Of Late Singer For Using Song At Rallies

Former President Donald Trump and his campaign have been sued by the family of late singer/songwriter Isaac Hayes for what it said was the unauthorized use of one of Hayes’ songs at presidential “campaign rallies from 2022-2024.” Hayes’ family is demanding “not less than” a “$3 million payment” in licensing fees from Trump and his campaign for using the song the late singer co-wrote with David Portner in 1966 for Sam & Dave, called “Hold on, I’m Coming,” at his rallies, the Hollywood Reporter reported. “We the family of @_isaachayes Isaac Hayes Enterprises, represented by Walker & Associates, are suing Donald Trump and his campaign for 134 counts copyright infringement for the unauthorized use of the song ‘Hold on, I’m Coming’ at campaign rallies from 2022-2024,” the official Isaac Hayes account posted on X read. “We demand the cessation of use, removal of all related videos, a public disclaimer, and payment of $3 million in licensing fees by August 16, 2024,” the letter added, per THR. “Failure to comply will result in further legal action.” Hayes’ son, Isaac Hayes III, also posted on Instagram and hit back at those he labeled MAGA/Trump Supporters whom he claimed have posted that Trump made the song “relevant.” We the family of @isaachayes Isaac Hayes Enterprises, represented by Walker & Associates, are suing @realDonaldTrump and his campaign for 134 counts copyright infringement for the unauthorized use of the song “Hold On I’m Coming” at campaign rallies from 2022-2024. pic.twitter.com/uwbJbB32Ya — Isaac Hayes (@isaachayes) August 11, 2024 “Music Publishing is probably the most valuable asset in music. Copyright termination returns that publishing back to the heirs of the songwriter after several years,” the Grammy winner’s son wrote. “@_isaachayes wrote hundreds of songs and has been sampled thousands of times,” he added. “‘Hold On I’m Coming” is just one [of] multiple Isaac Hayes hits. To think that Donald Trump has anything to do with the success of a song that’s been a hit for over 58 years is laughable all the way to the bank. Hold on to your publishing.” The Hayes’ family action was only the latest one from an artist upset about Trump choosing to use their music at his various campaign rallies.  On Saturday, it was Celine Dion’s management team on behalf of Dion and her record label who released a statement about how her song, “My Heart Will Go On,” from the “Titanic” soundtrack, was played at the Trump-JD Vance rally in Bozeman on Friday, as previously reported. “Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana,” the statement read.   “In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use,” the statement added. “…And really, THAT song?” Other artists who have got upset at Trump using their songs include the Rolling Stones, Rihanna, and Axl Rose, The Hollywood Reporter noted. KJP Can’t Name A ‘Specific Policy Achievement’ For Kamala: ‘It’s A Comprehensive Whole’

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre came up empty when asked by a reporter on Monday to name a “specific policy” achieved by Vice President Kamala Harris. Harris, who has yet to hold a press conference since becoming the Democratic nominee, has been slammed for her record on the border crisis after being tasked by President Joe Biden to address the “root cause” of illegal immigration. The vice president held numerous rallies over the past week, but she has yet to put forward a campaign platform with the Democratic National Convention in Chicago just one week away. “What does the president see as the vice president’s biggest achievement during their time in office together?” a reporter asked the top White House spokeswoman. “So look, because they’ve been partners … certainly those historic, unprecedented achievements have been done together,” Jean-Pierre said. “I’ll say this, the president believes in the vice president’s leadership, her temperament, her experience. And he has said this himself, one of the proudest decisions he made in 2020 was selecting her as vice president because he believed she could go on day one.” “I’m not going to parse out anything from here,” she added. “They have been partners. She’s been a critical partner for this president during this term, and we’ll continue to do so.” “There’s no specific policy, it’s a comprehensive whole?” the reporter asked. “I would say it’s a comprehensive whole,” Jean-Pierre answered. “The Biden-Harris accomplishments are the Biden-Harris accomplishments. She’s played a role, whether it is being on the floor of the Senate, getting really important legislation to pass through, or being in a room with the president and trying to figure out how to move forward strategically with a policy or how to make tough decisions on behalf of the American people, she’s been there.” Jean-Pierre has nothing to say when asked what Biden sees as Kamala’s “biggest achievement” as Vice President (that’s because there isn’t any). “I’m not going to parse out anything from here…” pic.twitter.com/BT3clGq54x — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) August 12, 2024 WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI Trump blasted Harris on Monday, arguing that she “has flip-flopped on virtually every policy she has supported and lived by for her entire career.” He added that the Democratic nominee “sounds more like Trump than Trump, copying almost everything.” “She is conning the American public, and will flip right back. I will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! There will be no flipping!!!” Trump added. On Saturday, Harris copied Trump’s proposal to end taxes on tips for service workers. Harris made the promise while speaking in Las Vegas, where Trump first made the tax cut proposal in June.

I’m A Registered Nurse And I’m Sounding The Alarm On Gender Ideology Deception In Medicine

When I enlisted in the Army in 2001, I recall the part of in-processing that had me lying naked on an exam table with only a big, white sheet covering my body, tented by my knees. I was told that the physician was going to walk in, lift the sheet to observe my genitalia, and walk out. That’s exactly what he did. The U.S. Army found that my anatomy was commensurate with what is defined as “female.” In other words, sex was defined by anatomy. Fast forward about 20 years, and I attended the September 2022 Contraceptive Technology Virtual Conference in an attempt to stay informed in my role as the clinical consultant for the Title X Family Planning Program in Kansas. As an experienced registered nurse and public health professional trained in the fundamental truths of anatomy and biology, I was surprised when conference speakers gave preemptive apologies for using the word “woman.” When they used the word “woman,” they explained it was only to mirror the older, less politically correct research they referenced. They even made it a point to say they were aware of the offense it may cause because it did not include members of the “trans” community. Each time I heard this, I wondered: Why are medical professionals apologizing for using the lexicon firmly established in every sphere of life—social, cultural, academic, philosophical, scientific? I realized there was a social construct to “woman,” but that didn’t contradict basic anatomy and genetics, which are visually observable. One presenter suggested we stop using the term “women’s clinic” and begin asking patients if they are comfortable with using anatomical terms like “vagina” or if they prefer made-up terms like “front-hole.” This is the salient point of gender ideology — the truth is irrelevant. I would go one step further and say the truth is being undermined at the behest of proclaimed authorities of inclusion and diversity. I know I am not alone, professionally. Where are all my fellow nurses, providers, and researchers who stand on eternal truth? More recently, I have seen guides put forth by local breastfeeding coalitions on the implementation of vocabulary that is more “inclusive,” such as “chestfeeding” in lieu of breastfeeding. All of this is to assuage a small but ever-growing percentage of people who reject biological reality and want to be something other than their actual sex. In 2017, I was 41 years old and at a pinnacle point in my career. I was Assistant Director of Clinical Operations in a local health department and the President of the Association of Public Health Nurses (APHN). I served both of these roles while finishing my RWJF Health Policy Fellowship and working on my master’s in public health. In the eyes of today’s high-performing culture, I was successful, but my husband’s health propelled me to a role that could accommodate the needs of my family. His health issues were unexpected, so I needed to be working closer to home. So, that same year, I transitioned into my current role as a Title X Family Planning Clinical Consultant. But I am now at a point in my life where I can no longer reconcile my values and professional role in this program. Title X, a federal grant program to provide sexual health and family planning services, is available for all adolescents without regard to age. With this program, minors are legally allowed to access contraception, for example, without a parent or guardian. That’s right, Title X providers must keep patient information confidential from parents. Providing education and counseling on contraceptive methods and how to prevent exposure to sexually transmitted infections is one thing. This is factual information, and it’s very straightforward. However, the services go well beyond that. Affirming an adolescent’s identity that is inconsistent with their anatomy is a dangerous treachery of the highest order because confusion and lies are being affirmed. It doesn’t just stop with “social transitioning” for minors. Surgical and other forms of medical transitioning lead to permanent health complications and a life-long patient status. All of this sells lies to our youth. No amount of surgery or hormones will ever make a male a female or vice versa. When big organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists release guidance on providing “gender-affirming care,” they’re giving pseudoscience a stamp of legitimacy. I’m still trying to wrap my brain around it — and struggling. My job was to measure practice against nationally recognized “gold standards,” and those are changing before my eyes. As caretakers for those struggling with dementia know, you never affirm the “worms they see crawling on the wall,” but you respond with compassion and reorient them to reality and the truth. Affirming lies only furthers their confusion and does more harm than good. Treating people with dignity and respect because they are human beings is no longer sufficient in so-called health care. Validating and legitimizing gender identities that contradict basic anatomy and genetics are now ubiquitously suggested and, at times, outright demanded. How do they demand it? The medical establishment demands the world cede the established terms of male and female. What happens in the medical establishment trickles down into mass culture, too. After I shared my thoughts on changing culture with a writing group, the leader suggested I look into the story of Riley Gaines. After all, the issue is the same, but it manifests differently in college sports versus health care. Upon Googling Riley Gaines, I found Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) and knew I needed to tell them about my experience. IWF isn’t just documenting the stories of female athletes like Gaines, they are providing a platform for individuals to make their voices heard on a wide range of women’s issues. Then I discovered IWF’s Identity Crisis documentary series where detransitioners Prisha Mosley, Isabelle Ayala, and Soren Aldaco completely exposed the dangerous sequelae of gender ideology. I was angry. I remember asking myself: Where are all the sane, ethical health professionals? Why aren’t these young ladies’ parents being told the truth? Where does this insanity end? At best, it feels like an arrogant attempt to erase the experience of half the population. At worst, it serves girls and women up as an all-you-can-eat prey buffet for men who will claim to be women — not because they truly suffer from gender dysphoria, but because they are predators seeking access to female-only spaces. Emboldened voices scream about the injustice of appropriation when it comes to racial and ethnic groups, but where is the outcry in defense of the appropriation of women, as if dresses and makeup are the sum of the female experience? To undermine women — those who gave birth to every group, every nation, indeed the world — through imitation is a great injustice. Yes, men plant their seed, but women are the ones who labor to grow that new human life in their womb and give birth to a human baby. It is a beautiful and elegantly simple design that honors both men and women. The medical industry I’ve been a part of for several decades used to recognize this. I will not play the pronoun game or any gender-neutralizing tactic to mock a perfect design. I will not apologize for using the word woman. I am a woman. * * * Ivonne Rivera-Newberry is a Title X Clinical Consultant for the Kansas Department of Health & Environment and an experienced Registered Nurse with four decades of service to the healthcare industry. Princess Kate Ditched Her Engagement Ring For A Sentimental Gift In Her Latest Social Media Post

Prince William famously gifted Kate Middleton his mother, Princess Diana’s, 12-carat sapphire ring. It is an iconic piece of jewelry, and the princess is rarely seen without it. However, In a new Olympic wrap-up message, the Prince and Princess of Wales congratulate Team GB on their success in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. And looking closely, you’ll see Kate swiped out her ring for something more delicate and sentimental—a promise ring that Wiliam gave her when they were dating. Well done @TeamGB, what an incredible journey! Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud! Here's to celebrating every triumph at @Paris2024 and looking forward to more from @ParalympicsGB later in the summer pic.twitter.com/oCLz7HuuLG— The Prince and Princess of Wales (@KensingtonRoyal) August 11, 2024 People reported, per Dress Like a Duchess, that William gifted Kate several pieces of jewelry while they were dating. He knew she was the one for him and gave her a promise ring filled with sentiment. The simple rose gold band is filled with pearls, his birthstone, and garnets, which represent Kate’s birth month in January. She reportedly wore it to her 2005 graduation from St. Andrew’s, where she and William met. (X) The ring symbolized “commitment and fidelity as well as a pledge for lifelong love and loyalty,” Dress Like a Duchess Explained. Tatler said the stones in her ring “are said to represent commitment, and pearls are known to be a symbol of innocence and purity.” Kate Has Always Been An Icon Kate isn’t flashy. Instead, she’s classy and graceful. She is a mother and wife before all else and seems to take her relationship with her husband seriously. “Fantastic video!! And how beautiful to see the princess, Catherine, so pretty and the prince, William, so relaxed,” a follower commented. “A heartfelt congratulations to Team GB! Your dedication has truly shone. Here’s to more victories ahead,” someone agreed. X users also noticed William was sporting something new. “Pardon me, ladies…I need to cool down. Prince William looks so handsome with a bit of facial stubble.” Someone asked, “Kate, be honest, the Beard, is it staying or going?” There is no official word on William’s bead, but it is lovely to see the Prince and Princess together, looking happy and well.
