Wicked star Ethan Slater’s ex-wife, Lilly Jay, recently published an essay addressing their divorce. Slater has been criticized for leaving Jay, his high school sweetheart, and immediately starting a relationship with his “Wicked” co-star Ariana Grande. Before now, his ex-wife has not commented on the situation, but her essay does reference the split and how it affected her personally and professionally. “In the countless hours I spend rocking my son to sleep, pushing his stroller, marveling at his sweaty little hands grasping a crayon, I work diligently on my private project of accepting the sudden public downfall of my marriage,” Jay wrote in an essay headlined, “How Does My Divorce Make You Feel?,” which was published on Thursday.  “This, I tell myself, is nothing to be ashamed of and nothing to hide. Slowly but surely, I have come to believe that in the absence of the life I planned with my high-school sweetheart, a lifetime of sweetness is waiting for me and my child.” Jay, who works as a clinical psychologist, said that no couple “gets married thinking they’ll get divorced, in the same way we don’t board a plane expecting to crash. But I really never thought I would get divorced. Especially not just after giving birth to my first child and especially not in the shadow of my husband’s new relationship with a celebrity.” “Days with my son are sunny. Dove has been on a roll in recent years — that is if you’re a leftist activist who says men can be women and thinks “fat liberation” is good for a person’s health.  If you’re a normal person who understands basic biological reality, Dove’s obsession with some of the craziest ideologies over the past few years should make you want to vomit. But the personal care brand wasn’t done.  Jump ahead to Super Bowl Sunday of this year, and you’ll find Dove claiming that it supports girls and women in sports. At this time, Dove also partnered with Matthew Cherry, a director and former football player, for a “quest to transform the world of sports into a welcoming environment where every girl can thrive and truly belong.” That seems like a pretty normal thing to do. But don’t get too excited about a return to normalcy. Dove’s Super Bowl ad and partnership with Cherry would’ve been great if it weren’t for the fact that just a few years earlier, the brand congratulated Laurel Hubbard, a male weightlifter who competed against women at the Olympics.  “History in the making. President-elect Donald Trump has filed an amicus brief in a Texas court calling on a federal judge to “immediately stop any ongoing sale of border-barrier materials” until an investigation of the Biden administration’s conduct regarding the border wall is complete, according to a copy of the brief obtained by The Daily Wire. The brief, written for Trump by attorney John Sauer, who is poised to be Trump’s solicitor general in his second term, cites The Daily Wire’s exclusive report on video showing the Biden administration moving large quantities of border wall material off the southern border to be sold off to private parties in an auction. “The outgoing Biden Administration’s reported ‘fire sales’ of border-wall materials to private parties raise grave concerns about the legality of Defendants’ conduct and their compliance with this Court’s permanent injunction in this case,” the brief writes. “The Court should order an immediate stop of all such sales and perform a searching examination of the Government’s conduct—by ordering formal discovery if necessary—to ensure compliance with the Constitution, the law, and the Court’s orders.” The Daily Wire’s December 12 report found that the material was being hauled off by private contractors to an auction site, where bidding for entire segments of unconstructed wall started at just $5. Trump said at a press conference this week that the outgoing administration “is trying to sell it for five cents on the dollar knowing that we’re getting ready to put it up.” Steven Cheung, Trump’s top spokesman, said Trump filed the brief because of the Biden administration’s “egregious history of violating the law.” “Any attempt by Biden officials to obstruct President Trump’s plan to build the Border Wall is unlawful, unconstitutional, and possibly criminal, as our brief argues,” Cheung said. “The Biden Administration has an egregious history of violating the law, especially in its catastrophic open-border policy, so the courts should review their actions here with particular skepticism.” READ MORE: EXCLUSIVE: Biden Races To Sell Off Border Wall Parts Before Trump Takes Office “President Trump will not be deterred from Building the Wall, securing our border, and Making America Great Again,” he added. It argues that Trump has made clear his “support for building a system of border barriers at the southwestern border” and that “building the border wall is the clear and emphatic policy of the incoming Trump Administration.” “Accordingly, President Trump is deeply troubled by recent reports that officials in the Biden Administration have been selling off border-wall materials at rock-bottom prices, especially during this lame-duck period,” the brief states. “President Trump has a paramount interest in preventing any unlawful sell-off of border wall materials that may be occurring,” it says. “One of President Trump’s dominant priorities for the next four years—building the border wall—could be unlawfully hampered, delayed, or obstructed by such efforts.” EXCLUSIVE: Weeks before Trump takes office, Biden is racing to auction off unused border wall materials. An investigation by Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) found that the Biden administration is recouping just 0.02% of the initial cost of the materials in its sale. The brief also argues that the Biden administration’s argument in defense of the sale — that a provision in the National Defense Authorization Act passed in 2023 authorizes the sale — is wrong. The bill’s provision calls for “a plan to use, transfer, or donate to States on the southern border,” and was written by Republicans with the intent of stopping the administration from selling off border parts, according to congressional sources. “That language does not mandate or authorize DoD to sell the excess border wall material at a steep discount to private parties,” the brief states. You never know what to expect when you venture out into nature. There are all sorts of cool creatures out there, including those that are rarely spotted by us humans. This includes animals with albinism. Albino reindeer are the perfect example. To better picture how rare they are to spot, all we need to do is take a look at how many even exist. It is said that only one in every 30,000 deer is considered albino. So, when someone spotted not only one but two white reindeer in a forest, you can understand why they got so excited! This is especially true with it being so rare! As awesome as this moment is to witness, it is important to note that there is a chance they aren’t albino. Turns out, while albinism is rare, it actually can be pretty common to think you’ve spotted one. Turns out, there are many reasons why a reindeer might have white fur. While albinism is certainly one of them, their fur color alone can’t indicate the cause. In addition to the white fur, animals that are albino will also lack pigment in their eyes. It’s possible to have one without the other because the production of pigment in the skin and eyes is controlled independently. Experts also note that spotting creatures with all white fur is much easier to do in the summer months. That’s why so many photos we have of them come from this time of year. So, no matter if the reindeer are albino are not, one thing is for sure: Spotting two of these white-furred creatures at once is an amazing thing to capture on camera!
