How the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity decision could change everything

How the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity decision could change everything

Donald Trump is currently embroiled in four different criminal cases‚ one of which involves the question of presidential immunity. On Wednesday this week‚ the Supreme Court agreed to hear Trump’s case regarding whether or not he has presidential immunity when it comes to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. “I think this is good news‚” says Glenn Beck. “Can Donald Trump be held now in a criminal case for his acts as president? The answer has always been no.” “That should have been stopped by Congress or the Supreme Court … as an official act‚” he explains. According to Glenn‚ if the justices rule that a president can do “an official act and then be held in criminal court‚” it will allow opponents “to prosecute any president that's running a second term.” Further‚ such a ruling would “completely gut our president.” The sitting president has full immunity as the chief executive‚ but in order to be imprisoned‚ “he would need to be impeached first and then removed from office‚” explains Stu Burguiere‚ adding that this isn’t in the Constitution but has long been the “guideline.” The SCOTUS hearing is set to take place in April‚ which at least would “slow down the Jack Smith trial on Donald Trump.” “I think Donald Trump is in the best position he’s been in since all this started‚” says Stu. To hear more‚ watch the clip below. Illegal alien arrested for allegedly raping 11-year-old Utah girl as ICE reveals staggering number of sex offender arrests

An illegal alien from Guatemala was arrested in Utah and charged with raping an 11-year-old girl‚ according to reports. Jonathan Estuardo Ruano Garcia‚ 26‚ was arrested early on Monday morning by Provo Police. Ruano Garcia was hit with felony charges of rape of a child‚ enticing a minor‚ and forgery. The forgery charge stemmed from Ruano Garcia reportedly possessing a Social Security card in his wallet at the time of being booked into the Utah County Jail that authorities said "did not appear to be authentic.""When asked about the Social Security card‚ Ruano Garcia admitted that it was fake and that he paid money for it when he came to the United States‚" police said. Around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday‚ a mother returned to her apartment in Provo‚ Utah. She reportedly saw an adult male leaving the apartment and made eye contact with the man before he "quickly walked away."According to arrest documents‚ the mother found her 11-year-old daughter completely naked in the hallway. "The 11-year-old girl told her mother that a male she met on the internet came to the apartment and had sex with her‚" the police report said‚ according to KSL. The Guatemalan national allegedly told police that he had sex with the girl for 20 to 30 minutes. Ruano Garcia claimed to have believed that the girl was 13 or 14 years of age. The illegal immigrant reportedly met the victim at a soccer game and continued communicating with the minor on social media‚ the Lehi Free Press reported. "Ruano Garcia admitted that the chats he had with the victim turned sexual and he sent naked photos of his penis on multiple occasions‚" the police report stated. Investigators used the social media interactions to help them quickly track down Ruano Garcia at his home in the nearby town of Lehi. Ruano Garcia is currently being held without bail at the Utah County Jail along with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.ICE recently announced a staggering number of illegal immigrants who were arrested for sex crimes last month. Between Feb. 5 and 16‚ 2024‚ ICE arrested "275 unlawfully present noncitizen sex offenders during a nationwide law enforcement effort.""ICE is committed to protecting America through the arrest and removal of those who undermine public safety and disregard our laws‚" said ICE Deputy Director and Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Patrick J. Lechleitner. "Thanks to the around-the-clock efforts of our Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers‚ our communities are safe from 275 individuals who have demonstrated their willingness to commit sex crimes against innocent people‚ including children."Like Blaze News? The Supreme Court targets Trump’s shield

The Supreme Court targets Trump’s shield

I am as close to being black-pilled as maybe I have ever been‚ or at least since the darkest days of the COVID lockdowns.I want to be wrong about Donald Trump’s pending visit to the U.S. Supreme Court in April. I want to be wrong about the court’s likely decision‚ expected by the end of June. People whose opinions I respect think I am wrong. I will explain why I disagree with them. This is a political assassination through other means. We are not a nation of laws‚ and we never have been. We are a nation of political will‚ and we always will be. Laws do not enforce themselves. Rules do not enforce themselves. Some of the headlines you are seeing are making it sound as if the court is granting Trump's appeal in special counsel Jack Smith’s criminal case against the former president. In reality‚ the court granted Smith’s request “to treat the stay application as a petition for a writ of certiorari” concerning “whether and if so‚ to what extent‚ does a former president enjoy immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office.”This means Trump's defense strategy of running out the clock through appeals has been circumvented by the Supreme Court. Recall that Smith at the end of last year tried to go to the Supreme Court for an immediate decision on whether a president has total immunity‚ essentially forever‚ no matter what‚ for whatever he did in office. I thought for sure Smith would not have made that motion unless he was confident how it would go. That’s why I was stunned on December 23 when the court told him it would not expedite a decision on the matter. Then Trump appealed the question of his perpetual immunity rendered by trial Judge Tanya Chutkan‚ the Obama acolyte who ruled against him‚ to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. The panel of three judges unanimously ruled against Trump‚ noting that Bill Clinton faced penalties once he was out of office for the act of committing perjury while in the White House. In citing that precedent‚ they also told Trump not to even bother trying to appeal to the full court‚ and they only gave him six days to file an appeal. Clearly‚ they were trying to speed up the ultimate outcome‚ yet Trump appealed to the full court nonetheless to stretch out the clock.Moves and countermoves. That left Smith to file a motion once again on February 14 to go directly to the Supreme Court to answer the immunity question. And this time‚ the motion was granted. Oral arguments will take place April 22‚ and a ruling can happen in time to hang around Trump’s neck before Election Day. That will come no later than June 30‚ the end of the court's session. That still leaves the Spirit of the Age at least 128 days to put Trump in front of its D.C. star chamber. When the Supreme Court took up the Dobbs case in Mississippi‚ none of us seriously thought the eventual decision would be made only to mandate the status quo on baby murder. Something was going to be clarified‚ and so it will be with Trump and expediting the immunity decision at the request of his would-be hangman.Trump is likely going to lose. Most of the people I’ve talked to or whose opinions I respect agree with what I’ve laid out so far. But here’s where I diverge‚ and things are even worse for Trump than many people believe. Let's say the court doesn’t issue a ruling on this until June 30. Does that still make it too difficult for Trump’s enemies to bring him to trial on specific charges before Election Day?That’s a question you ask only if you are thinking of all this as a buttoned-down legal proceeding conducted with the intent of having a political outcome‚ when in fact it is a political proceeding with the intent of having a legal outcome. In other words‚ this is a political assassination through other means. The legal proceeding is only being used to make it look “official” to the normies. And if that is the case‚ there is no way that the people who have dreamed of putting Trump in prison for years will be given the green light to do so‚ only to not follow up because the so-called process has run out of time.Do we even believe our own talking points about who the left is and how it operates? Do you mean to tell me the folks who actually followed through with trying to take Trump off the ballot in multiple states are suddenly going to tuck tail and give up because of clerical overload? No‚ they're not going to do that. Especially with a “permission slip” in hand from the Supreme Court. They don't care if they need to gavel in the trial the morning of the election if that’s the direction Chief Justice John Roberts lets this go — and it appears that he will with this expedited process. Just like when he saved Obamacare not once but twice by redefining taxation and state exchanges beyond the definitions Obama’s own lawyers used to make their case. Just like when the leaker in the Dobbs case failed to surface despite his “investigation.” Roberts is in the process of putting his thumb on this scale‚ too‚ and it is highly unlikely that he would be wasting such an effort unless‚ as in the past‚ somebody on the right was about to get royally screwed.I predict Roberts will ultimately concoct the proverbial splitting of the baby. His court will pimp-slap Colorado harshly for attempting to take Trump off the ballot without any due process‚ and then he’ll have his quorum turn right around and do the same to Trump’s immunity case. All to make the case‚ like the institutionalist swamp creature he is‚ that America was “saved” from the worst instincts of both sides. Except one will have far greater political consequences than the other. Can you guess which one?

FBI raids homes of another top aide to NYC Mayor Adams

FBI raids homes of another top aide to NYC Mayor Adams

The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Thursday raided the homes of another top aide to New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams‚ the Associated Press reported.Federal investigators‚ overseen by the United States attorney’s office in Brooklyn‚ searched two homes in the Bronx owned by Winnie Greco‚ Adams' $100‚000-a-year director of Asian affairs and former fundraiser‚ an FBI spokesperson told the news outlet. Greco‚ 61‚ has worked with Adams for more than a decade. A City Hall spokesperson informed the AP that she was placed on leave Thursday. While the purpose of the probe is unclear‚ according to the source‚ the latest raid is not connected to an investigation into Adams’ campaign over alleged illegal foreign donations. In November‚ local news outlet the City reported that New York City’s Department of Investigation launched a probe into Greco after allegations surfaced that the director leveraged her government position for personal benefit. According to the outlet‚ Greco allegedly guaranteed an administration position to a technology worker on the condition that he volunteer to renovate her kitchen. The worker claimed that the city hired him after he completed the labor but fired him later when he refused to do additional renovations on city time.Charles Lutvak‚ a spokesperson for Adams‚ told the City that the tech worker’s allegations were not true‚ that he was “a disgruntled former employee” who was terminated for “documented cause.”“Throughout the time Mayor Adams has known Winnie‚ she has been a faithful public servant and advocate for her community. He is not aware of any inappropriate behavior whatsoever‚ and she strongly denies any allegations of illegal behavior‚” Lutvak stated. The AP reported that Greco is at least the third Adams aide to be targeted by federal agents. The FBI‚ in early November‚ raided the Brooklyn home of Brianna Suggs‚ a top fundraiser for Adams‚ Blaze News previously reported. The mayor’s campaign is under investigation for allegedly receiving foreign contributions from the Turkish government through straw donors. Adams claimed that he is “not familiar” with KSK Construction Group‚ the company at the center of the probe. He noted that his campaign would cooperate with any investigations. The mayor has not been charged with a crime.“Our administration will always follow the law‚ and we always expect all our employees to adhere to the strictest ethical guidelines‚” a spokesperson for Adams stated. “As we have repeatedly said‚ we don’t comment on matters that are under review‚ but will fully cooperate with any review underway.”Greco did not respond to the AP’s request for comment.Like Blaze News? Blaze News' Steve Baker released from courthouse after arrest over his Jan. 6 reporting — and notables have been reacting

Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker has been released from a federal courthouse in Dallas after his arrest earlier Friday over his Jan. 6 reporting: — (@) Baker also spoke to BlazeTV's Steve Deace after his release: — (@) What are the details? Baker — who for years has been searching for the truth about Jan. 6‚ 2021‚ and believes the U.S. government has been targeting him for it — on Friday was charged with four misdemeanors related to his Jan. 6 coverage at the U.S. Capitol after turning himself in to the FBI in Dallas. But first he was handcuffed and perp-walked: — (@) The charges are: Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds Disorderly conduct in a capitol building Parading‚ demonstrating‚ or picketing in a capitol building BlazeTV contributor Jill Savage noted Friday that she exited the courtroom with Baker‚ who "was able to wear his dress clothes but had shackles on his wrists and ankles. He is expected to be released today. His next hearing is set in DC for March 14th." Baker learned of the charges for the first time Friday and earlier this week told Blaze News that the powers that be wouldn't tell his attorney about the charges because they believed Baker would post them on social media. Baker's Dallas attorney‚ James Lee Bright‚ added to Blaze News that withholding the nature of the charges against his client was a "really unusual" move. Bright told Blaze News that he's "disturbed" about what's happening with his client‚ especially given that Baker has been "in full compliance" all this time. Bright also said the federal government "three-plus years later going after people who were legitimate functioning journalists that day" appears designed to have an "absolute chilling effect." Baker added that when he asked his other attorney‚ William Shipley‚ why the federal government is treating him like this‚ Shipley replied‚ "You know why. You've been poking them in the eye for three years." 'This is truly outrageous' Baker's arrest and charges have been getting a ton of attention — and notable individuals have been weighing in: — (@) — (@) — (@) Like Blaze News? Canada gives Ukraine $4 million for 'Gender-inclusive demining' meant to empower women as part of billions in new aid

Canada's latest $3 billion funding package to Ukraine includes many mentions of gender‚ specifically including a demining effort that is meant to be inclusive and empowering to women.Justin Trudeau reaffirmed his ongoing support for Ukraine — a sentiment that was echoed by Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre — with Ottawa supplying another aid package to the European country with billions more in support. Some portions of the foreign aid package‚ however‚ have raised eyebrows.Particularly‚ the package included $4 million for "Gender-inclusive demining for sustainable futures in Ukraine."An unfamiliar phrase to many‚ the project is indeed an effort to dispose of land mines and other explosive ordinances in Ukraine. It aimed to "safeguard the lives and livelihoods of Ukrainians‚ including women and internally displaced persons‚ by addressing the threat of explosive ordnance present across vast areas of the country."It also includes conducting surveying and manual clearance in targeted communities‚ but also seeks to establish a "gender and diversity working group to promote gender-transformative mine action in Ukraine‚" the government's press release stated. The operation is to be taken on by the Halo Trust‚ a charity founded in the late 1980s with the stated goal of clearing land mines across the world. According to the organization‚ clearing dangerous explosives is "empowering" for women‚ and it is helping the "mainstreaming of gender and diversity provisions" in the profession of explosive ordinance disposal. Among the $3B programs announced by Trudeau in Kyiv today is one whose goal is to establish “a gender and diversity working group to promote gender-transformative mine action in Ukraine.”

No joke!

YOU’RE ALL PAYING TO PROMOTE GENDER-INCLUSIVE DEMINING IN UKRAINE! — (@) A spokesperson from Global Affairs Canada boasted to the National Post that women were recently approved to take part in the demining projects."Since [2017] HALO has trained hundreds of women in demining‚ team leadership‚ intermediate care provision and explosive ordnance recognition and disposal‚" spokesperson Charlotte MacLeod said. "As of January 2024‚ 29 per cent of HALO’s 1‚127 staff in Ukraine are women ... its strategic goal is to increase the proportion of female staff‚ especially in senior roles‚" she added.Of course‚ Canada's latest grant to the war-torn nation is not meant for just military assistance; it also contains many other questionable allotments. Nearly $1 million has been allocated for "strengthening truth‚ transparency‚ and democracy to counter disinformation." This money is meant to help the country "enhance the literacy and fact-checking capabilities of Ukraine's media in order to better count disinformation in the country."This initiative also includes addressing "gender disparity issues" in Ukraine's media.Another $15 million is provided to complete a museum in Ukraine in honor of those who were starved by the Soviet Union in the 1930s.In total‚ gender is mentioned seven times in the aid package‚ including the mentions of "gender responsiveness" in funding for resilient food systems and being "gender-responsive" in reconstruction efforts.Like Blaze News? Watch one of Steve Baker’s final interviews before his arrest

This morning at 7:00 a.m.‚ investigative journalist and Blaze Media correspondent Steve Baker surrendered himself to the FBI for alleged crimes relating to his January 6 reporting. His specific charges‚ which were released upon his arrest‚ are as follows: Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds Disorderly conduct in a capitol building Parading‚ demonstrating‚ or picketing in a capitol building Yesterday‚ Stu Burguiere was able to interview Baker in the final hours before his arrest and hear once more what’s clearly a story of retaliation via selective prosecution. “The short version of this is that in July of 2021‚ just five or six months after the January 6 event‚ I was contacted by the FBI‚” Baker told Stu. However‚ it wasn’t until October 2021 that the U.S. attorney general granted the FBI permission to interview Baker‚ which was a necessary step in the process‚ given that Baker is a standing member of the press. “A month later‚ in November‚ we got a notice from the Department of Justice that in fact‚ they were going to charge me with January 6-related crimes‚” Baker explained. But when Baker “beat that back with a pretty aggressive press offensive … [the DOJ] went silent for 20 months.” “Jump to August of 2023‚ and we got a grand jury subpoena for my videos that I had taken‚ which was a bit absurd‚ because we had offered that free of any obligations to them two years before. … And so we complied once again‚ and then they went silent for another four months‚” Baker explained. Then‚ in December 2023‚ Baker received a call that he would need to surrender the week prior to Christmas. “And then‚ thank goodness‚ you know‚ Blaze Media went into a hard-core offensive yet again‚ and within 30 hours‚ they backed off again. And we didn't hear from them for two months‚” he told Stu. Unfortunately‚ in February‚ Baker was hit with a final demand to surrender on Friday‚ March 1‚ which he referred to as his “D-Day.” While this story is incredibly upsetting‚ what makes it unstomachable is the fact that certain journalists who reported on J6 just like Steve Baker have not been prosecuted. Why? Presumably because they work for left-leaning news outlets. For example‚ “the fifth person through the first broken window was a New York Times journalist‚” but he was not charged. “This is a hard-core‚ blatant case of selective prosecution‚” said Steve. “What they cannot show us yet is that they have applied the same standard and the same law to anyone reporting to a left-leaning news organization as they have applied to those of us reporting otherwise.” To hear the specific details of Baker’s day at the Capitol on January 6‚ 2021 – why he went‚ how he got in‚ and what he witnessed while there – watch the clip below.
