Parker McCollum Joins Tyler Halverson For Reimagined Version Of “Beer Garden Baby”
South Dakota meets Texas.
This collaboration has been a long time coming. In 2021, Tyler Halverson released his debut single, “Beer Garden Baby,” giving fans the first taste of his “Western Amerijuana” sound. The tune is his most-streamed tune on Spotify and is truly a staple in his catalog. Many fans who know Tyler Halverson were introduced to the South Dakota
Since the release of “Beer Garden Baby,” Tyler Halverson has solidified himself as a staple artist among Texas and red dirt country fans, releasing other stellar singles like “Mac Miller,” “Her,” and “Codigo GoGo.” In April of last year, Halverson released his first EP, Western Amerijuana (Pt. 1), which was quickly followed up in October with the release of his second EP, Western Amerijuana (Pt. 2) . Since his EP’s release, Halverson has been on the road, but has not put out any new music this calendar year… until today.
Today, Halverson revisited the song that started it all and decided to ask a friend to join him on a “Beer Garden Baby” reimagination. Tyler Halverson has teamed up with the “Solid Country Gold” singer Parker McCollum for a stellar new version of the single.
When I said earlier that this collaboration was a long time coming, I wasn’t kidding. Back in 2022, McCollum fell in love with Halverson’s unique sound, urging his fan base to check out the “Takes 8” singer’s catalog.
“Go listen to Tyler Halverson on Spotify. And then when summer rolls around and you’re listening to him nonstop, you can tell your friends, ‘idk I saw Parker tweet about this guy, so I looked him up, and he’s bad a**.'”

During a show earlier this year, Halverson joined McCollum on stage to perform the ditty and got quite the introduction from McCollum.
“A few years ago, I met this kid named Tyler Halverson. (I) listened to some of his stuff, and I said, ‘That’s a songwriting son of a b***h right there.’ And so we got to know each other a little bit, and he’s got this song called ‘Beer Garden Baby’ that he’d written. And it’s got a line in it that says, ‘the singer gets a check every rodeo,’ which I relate to all too well.”
After that, he brings Halverson to the stage to perform “Beer Garden Baby,”

It’s clear that the time they spent on stage together and McCollum’s admiration for the song sparked the idea that they should collaborate for a reimagined version of the track. And boy, they were onto something.
As a fan of the solo version of “Beer Garden Baby,” the version with McCollum shows that this song ages like fine wine; it just got better. The combination of their voices on the track, while still keeping the integrity of the original cut, is near perfection. Given McCollum’s fanbase is huge, it’s also cool to see him collaborate with a lesser-known artist, pushing Halverson’s sound out to his fanbase.
“Beer Garden Baby” is a tune that country fans of all generations can enjoy, and this new version of the song is a must-listen on this fine New Music Friday. Turn this one up to max volume.
