The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched widespread strikes against Hezbollah terrorist positions in southern Lebanon during the early morning hours on Sunday after receiving intelligence that Hezbollah was about to launch a large scale attack on Israel. Axios reported that the strike was launched after Israeli and U.S. intelligence officials obtained intelligence indicating that Hezbollah’s attack was imminent. He continued, “Accept where you are at and move on. Try to be in the present.” While we all have mistakes and moments we are not proud of, those moments are behind us. Additionally, while we may see others moving more rapidly than us, it is best to be in the present moment. As this smart 96-year-old advised, we should accept where we are in life, make the most of it, and be happy. Heartwarming Advice Samuel’s heartwarming advice didn’t stop there. As the video progressed, he further dug into his answer. He tackled the art of gratitude. He said, “You have gratitude for what you have.” Gratitude has been proven to have healing effects. Focusing on the pleasant things in your life that you are thankful for draws focus away from the parts that are not so grand. A study even showed that expressing gratitude regularly helped lower physical symptoms “such as headaches, shortness of breath, sore muscles, and nausea” compared to those who did not practice gratitude. From there, he moved on to the theme of compassion. Based on this lovely man’s presence, it is safe to assume that he lived his life with the same gratitude and compassion that he preached. Closing Thoughts As the interview slowly wound down, this 96-year-old left the audience with one final piece of advice. He said, “Accept what is. If you can change it, okay. But there are some things that you need to accept that you can’t change. And if you can’t change it, let it go.” What an incredibly powerful message!
