Additional Boeing Whistleblowers Come Forward To Warn About Safety And Quality Issues

Despite the deaths of two Boeing whistleblowers, two former employees of the jet manufacturer and its key contractor have come forward with warnings about safety issues. Roy Irvin, a veteran of Boeing, and Santiago Paredes, who worked at Spirit AeroSystems, shared their concerns with the New York Post. “From 2011 until 2017, Irvin was a quality investigator at Boeing in North Charleston, SC, trying to ensure that $250 million 787 Dreamliner planes were ready to be put to work before they left the factory. He began at the company in 2009,” Unusual Whales noted. From 2011 until 2017, Irvin was a quality investigator at Boeing in North Charleston, SC, trying to ensure that $250 million 787 Dreamliner planes were ready to be put to work before they left the factory. He began at the company in 2009. Read more: https://t.co/NuJxjWpTvd — unusual_whales (@unusual_whales) June 7, 2024 From the New York Post: Irvin said he “pushed back” almost every day at serious safety and quality issues he found on planes that had left the factory floor and were on the “flight line,” meaning they were supposed to have been checked and found to be good to go. But they weren’t, Irvin alleges, and he was often forced to be “insubordinate” because of how many times he called out the problems he saw. “Missing safety devices on hardware or untightened hardware means that you’re not going to be able to control the airplane if those fail,” Irvin told The Post. “The safety device is on there. If the fastener is not secured correctly, it’s going to fall off and you’re not gonna be able to control the airplane.” Irvin worked with Boeing whistleblower John Barnett, 62, who was found dead on March 9 in a hotel parking lot in South Carolina, his silver pistol in his hand, after he failed to show up for the second part of his testimony for a bombshell lawsuit against the company. Police ruled that Barnett died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Then Joshua Dean, 45, a former quality auditor at Spirit AeroSystems, died in early May from a fast-growing infection. The deaths, paradoxically, may have empowered others to come forward. Two more Boeing whistleblowers go public over plane safety: ‘Like a ticking timebomb’ https://t.co/lm1IZJcTGH pic.twitter.com/zsw9wVBuS9 — New York Post (@nypost) June 5, 2024 Paredes worked as a production inspector for Spirit AeroSystems for 12 years before departing the Boeing supplier in 2022. “He told The Post he was shocked when he arrived at the company and, he alleges, saw hundreds of defects on the production line. He was even more horrified, he said, when he was pressured not to say anything,” the New York Post stated. WATCH: The Washington Examiner noted: Attorney Brian Knowles, who is representing the two, reportedly said that over 20 whistleblowers have come forward, with many feeling an urge to after the deaths of two previous whistleblowers. “Most of the people we’re hearing from are current employees,” he said. “These are not disgruntled employees. In many cases they love the company. It’s not about bringing down the company — it’s about getting it back on track. Knowles said that despite Boeing’s talks about reform, the problems are not being addressed internally and those voicing concerns are being retaliated against. Boeing has come under intense scrutiny after a series of high-profile accidents with its planes drew a government investigation. The deaths of two whistleblowers aroused further suspicion, putting the storied company under the spotlight.

Homeless Angel Saves the Day After Grandpa Ditches 7-Year-Old Grandkid to Go to the Bar

In the bustling streets of Sacramento, California, Lauren Jope found herself in a moment of unexpected heroism. This homeless angel saves the day after grandpa ditches his seven-year-old grandkid to go to the bar. A homeless woman accustomed to life’s unpredictable twists, Lauren’s world shifted when a stranger approached her with an unusual request. RELATED: Heroic UPS Driver Spots Child In Danger And Races Across Busy Street To Save Him Lauren Jope Took Care of the Young Girl As she walked near a parking lot containing a bar and a nearby thrift store, Lauren encountered Jason Warren, a grandfather who left his young granddaughter under her care while he ventured into the bar. Startled but determined, Lauren accepted the responsibility, driven by her concern for the little girl’s safety. “I’m glad I was walking when I was cause you know she could have been left with some, some man or you know someone who doesn’t want to watch her. Someone that doesn’t really care,” Lauren said. Soon, it became apparent that Jason was too inebriated to fulfill his role as a guardian. Taking matters into her own hands, Lauren guided the child to her camp, offering food and shelter. However, their journey was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of law enforcement, summoned by Jason himself, in a state of intoxication, claiming his granddaughter was abducted for human trafficking. Fortunately, deputies swiftly confirmed the child’s safety and well-being, dispelling Jason’s unfounded accusations. With the truth revealed it became clear that this homeless woman’s compassionate actions shielded the young girl from harm. It is often said that God works in mysterious ways, orchestrating events with divine precision. Such was the case when Lauren Jope found herself in the unexpected role of protector to a vulnerable young girl. RELATED: Homeless Hero Bravely Rescues 2 Children From Raging Fire God Guided Lauren to Find the Child As she traversed the streets of Sacramento, California, it was not mere chance that led her to encounter the distressed grandfather and his granddaughter. Instead, it was a divine intervention, a testament to God’s providence and watchful care. In that pivotal moment, God guided Lauren to be in the right place at the right time, a beacon of compassion and safety for the child in need. Through Lauren’s actions, God’s love and protection were made manifest, a reminder that He works through ordinary individuals to bring about extraordinary acts of grace and mercy. Now under the care of her aunt, the child remains safe, while Jason faces legal repercussions for his neglect. In the face of adversity, Lauren’s selflessness shone brightly, a beacon of hope in an otherwise challenging situation. Reflecting on the events, Lauren expressed gratitude for being in the right place at the right time. Her unwavering commitment to the child’s welfare underscores the profound impact individuals can have, regardless of their circumstances. In a world fraught with uncertainty, Lauren’s act of kindness is a testament to the power of compassion and the presence of angels among us. A Judge Expunged The 2nd Amendment McCloskeys’ Records

People might remember the McCloskeys of St. Louis. They are married lawyers who live in an exclusive gated area of St. Lousi. A massive mob of threatening Black Lives Matter communists broke the small gate into the neighborhood and stormed in, screaming and chanting. The couple came out with their guns to protect their property […] The post A Judge Expunged The 2nd Amendment McCloskeys’ Records appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Newly Crowned Miss Maryland USA Is A Man

The new Miss Maryland USA is a man. Bailey Anne Kennedy was crowned last Saturday. Kennedy will now be part of the Los Angeles competition for Miss USA, which is part of the Miss Universe Pageant, on August 4. Bailey Anne, a man who pretends to be a woman, was just crowned Miss Maryland USA. Bailey hopes this "accomplishment" inspires more confused men to steal the achievements of real women. Why are women allowing this to happen? pic.twitter.com/j47o89G8hl — Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) June 6, 2024 Kennedy said the moment of victory was a “whirlwind because I knew it was bigger than me. I knew that it was going to mean a lot for all the LGBTQ kids out there who might feel like they don’t belong in a box — like me growing up.” “I felt confident in my own skin at 31, which is past the old age limit, which is 28 — as you know, Miss Universe Organization lifted the restriction now — so every woman of all ages can compete,” she said. Kennedy hopes that the victory “will open up some doors, open up some hearts for people to see that there are many aspects of LGBT community out there, and I hope I can be a positive contribution to society in making a difference like the USO program like I’m working with.” Kennedy wrote on Instagram, where a photo showed Kennedy with his apparent spouse in a U.S. Navy uniform, “Not everyone has to agree with the spaces that you occupy, and it doesn’t mean that you aren’t worthy of these opportunities. The work that I will do for the remainder of my life is to make sure that children who feel like me will never have to worry about the consequences of being who they are by simply being myself and being a positive contribution to society.” “For the longest time, I never had the need to tell anyone,” Kennedy continued. “Not because it’s a secret but it’s none of anyone’s business. To those who matter to me, they don’t care. Those that care about knowing such private & personal details, don’t matter. I can’t wait to start my reign and get back to The USO office and start serving lunches & personally thank our active duty service members like I originally plan [sic] to yesterday because that’s what actually matters to me.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “The Miss Maryland USA Instagram account says Kennedy works with the U.S. military’s United Service Organizations, or USO, a Department of Defense entity that exists to boost troop morale and promote positive feelings about the U.S. military,” The Federalist reported, adding, “Kennedy will be in close proximity to many children and especially young girls as a Miss Maryland USA pageant winner.”

Biden Publicly Apologizes To Zelensky For Holdup In U.S. Military Assistance, Says Americans Still ‘Completely’ Support Ukraine

President Joe Biden sat down with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in France on Friday and publicly apologized for the delay in U.S. military assistance to the European nation as its war with Russia continues. Biden’s apology came following events for the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy as Zelensky urged all Americans to support his country’s fight against Russia regardless of political affiliation, the Associated Press reported. “It’s very important that in this unity, United States of America, all American people stay with Ukraine like it was during World War II,” Zelensky said. “How the United States helped to save human lives, to save Europe. And we count on your continuing support in standing with us shoulder to shoulder.” Biden told Zelensky the U.S. still supports Ukraine “completely,” even after congressional Republicans spent months pushing back against a $61 billion military assistance package for the country. “We’re still in. Completely. Thoroughly,” Biden said. Americans remain divided on U.S. support for Ukraine as America faces its own crisis on the southern border. A Gallup poll released in April showed that 36% of Americans say the U.S. is doing “too much” for Ukraine while 36% say the U.S. isn’t doing enough to help the European country. Only a quarter of Americans believe the Biden administration giving Ukraine the “right amount” of support. In April, after six months of holdup, Congress passed a package that appropriated an additional $61 billion to help Ukraine in its war effort against Russia. The legislation was promptly approved by Biden. Zelensky thanked the U.S. for its continued support of his country and said that he is working on an agreement with U.S. leaders that would provide military, financial, and political support for Ukraine for the next 10 years. Russia’s war against Ukraine passed the two-year mark in February, and Putin’s forces recently launched another offensive in the eastern part of Ukraine. U.S. officials said on Thursday that Ukraine would be receiving another $225 million in military aid, the AP reported. The U.S. has been, by far, the largest source of military support for Ukraine, according to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Last week, Biden also permitted Ukraine to use weapons provided by the U.S. to strike targets inside Russia “for counter-fire purposes,” marking a significant shift in U.S. policy. “The President recently directed his team to ensure that Ukraine is able to use U.S. weapons for counter-fire purposes in Kharkiv so Ukraine can hit back against Russian forces hitting them or preparing to hit them,” one of the U.S. officials said, according to Politico. When asked by ABC News’ David Muir on Thursday if American weapons are “being used right now inside of Russia,” Biden said, “They’re authorized to be used within proximity to the border. We’re not authorizing strikes 200 miles into Russia. We’re not authorizing strikes on Moscow.” David Muir: “Are American weapons being used right now inside Russia?” Joe Biden: “Yes!!!” pic.twitter.com/0ECe4kIdNV — Real Mac Report (@RealMacReport) June 6, 2024

Controversy Erupts Over Plus Sized Miss Alabama Winning Crown

The newly crowned Miss Alabama is facing backlash online for what critics are saying is the promotion of an unhealthy lifestyles Sara Milliken, 23, was named the winner over Memorial Day weekend and has since gone viral online. The Alabama native auditioned twice previously and did not place, then won the crown in 2024.  “No matter what your body looks like, no matter where you come from, you can do anything you set your mind to,” she told WKRG in an interview about the win. The contestant said she expected negativity because of her weight. “Even something that you type over a screen can have a lasting impression on people,” she told the outlet. “Even though I’m not at that point, it can lead people to do some very dark things to themselves,” the beauty pageant winner added. Many of the negative comments focused on how Milliken’s win glorified obesity, noting how this was not meant to be a personal attack. “Calling her beautiful is fine and good that’s all in the eye of the beholder,” one Facebook commenter wrote. “But let’s be honest with ourselves… she’s extremely unhealthy and this is a slap in the face to the young girls who have worked hard and maintained a diet to actually be a beauty queen.” “This is an embarrassment to the state of Alabama,” the social media user added. “The winner of Miss Alabama. She promotes inclusivity and representation of all bodies. We need to stop glorifying obesity. Obesity isn’t healthy,” Libs of TikTok shared on X. If anyone truly cared about her, they would tell her the truth,” a commenter on X agreed. The newly crowned Miss Alabama responded to the negative comments with a lengthy Instagram post. “Recently I have been the target of an overwhelming amount of online hate, negativity, and bullying. Honestly, it doesn’t affect me in the way most would think it does. A lot of people see me stepping into this title as wanting to be ‘in the spotlight’ and because of that their words are justified. The truth is I wanted this title so desperately to serve my community,” Milliken wrote. “More than anything I just wish people could find something more interesting to do or something more interesting to talk about,” she continued.  “The things that has been said about me is truly disgusting and I cannot fathom how people think it’s ok to say these things. The easy thing would be to give up. I could hide my face. Stop posting on social media. Make no appearances. Stay low key until Nationals. I could even give in and give up my title. But instead I say WATCH ME.” Besides controversy over the Miss Alabama crowning, pageant fans are also questioning another state winner. Bailey Anne Kennedy, a biological male who identifies as trans, became the first “trans woman” to be named Miss Maryland. Kennedy and Milliken will next head to Los Angeles to compete for Miss USA. The competition is scheduled to air on Sunday, August 4 on The CW.

Sage Steele On The ‘Black National Anthem’: ‘They’re Shoving It Down People’s Throats’

Podcaster and former ESPN host Sage Steele took aim at the use of what is referred to as the “black national anthem” — “Lift Every Voice and Sing” — saying that performing it at major sporting events is divisive in America, and it’s being shoved “down people’s throats.” Speaking with comedian, actor, and musician Reggie Watts on “The Sage Steele Show,” Steele stated, “I never intended to stir the pot, but now I don’t care. … I don’t like this whole black national anthem thing.” “What’s the black national anthem?” Watts responded. “See?” Steele pointed out. “What’s that?” Watts repeated. “Well, it’s newer the last couple of years and it’s at the Super Bowl,” Steele explained. “And it’s been at a couple of major sporting events, and it’s ‘Lift Every Voice,’ and that’s sung now before the national anthem and it’s called the black national anthem.” “It’s a blanthem,” Watts suggested. “It’s a blanthem,” Steele agreed. She continued: Let’s call it that. Hashtag blanthem. Maybe if it were that I would not think it were so ridiculous and divisive. … With the hashtag we’re good. Cool. To me, and again I’m sensitive, because I’ve been told — Dude, we’re one big melting pot. This is good. Why are we now choosing to separate again when we’ve been in a tough time here the past several years, to say, “This is only our anthem, but y’all better stand up. Get you’re a** up.” …I think we’re all Americans and it’s our anthem; and all the immigrants from across the world that have come here stand up for our anthem. They’re all Americans. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “First of all, the fact that you didn’t even know,” she said to Watts. “What’s that? The black national anthem. Because it’s new and they’re shoving it down people’s throats. What are we doing?” In April, Steele told Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro, “I think one of the biggest things that has made me so divisive and disliked and at least parts not all for sure, but parts of the black community is my conversation about being biracial. So if I’m asked and if I’m filling out a census … I’m going to check black and white, you know, my dad’s black, my mom is white.” “I’m so proud of both. And for some reason that’s controversial,” she continued, adding that she would expect her family’s racial makeup to be celebrated by those who constantly push for more diversity, equity, and inclusion. “And I just was always confused by that and like, why isn’t my family the actual perfect definition of diversity and tolerance and acceptance and inclusion?” Steele asked. “Why is it bad that I love my mom as much as my dad and want to celebrate her as well? And when I was crushed for that a few times, I got ticked off. I’m like, enough. This is total B.S.,” she said. “And it’s actually complete hypocrisy, the opposite of what we are preaching of diversity and tolerance and acceptance.” Zach Jewell contributed to this article.  Related: ‘This Is Total B.S.’: Sage Steele Slams ‘Hypocrisy’ Of Left Pushing ‘Diversity And Tolerance’ During Interview With Ben Shapiro

“It’s Mind-Boggling”: Los Angeles Hit with Surge in Fire Hydrant Thefts

Los Angeles is grappling with an unprecedented wave of fire hydrant thefts, leaving many neighborhoods vulnerable and authorities scrambling for answers. The thefts have primarily impacted the Florence-Firestone and Watts neighborhoods, where numerous hydrants have been sheared off and stolen, causing significant safety concerns for residents. Since early June, reports of hydrant thefts have surged, with as many as nine incidents occurring in a single day. Law enforcement agencies, including the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), are collaborating to investigate these crimes, which have not only deprived communities of essential fire protection but also led to costly damages and water wastage. Fire hydrant thefts in California pic.twitter.com/Mcx6nSgtNA — The Daily Sneed (@Tr00peRR) June 4, 2024 The stolen hydrants, essential for firefighting efforts, have left large areas without immediate access to water in case of fires, heightening the risk for local residents. Police believe the hydrants are being targeted for their valuable metal components, which can be sold for scrap. This theory is supported by the sophisticated methods used by thieves, who employ tools to swiftly and efficiently remove the hydrants from their bases. Authorities have arrested several suspects in connection with these thefts. In one notable case, five individuals were detained following a series of coordinated thefts across Long Beach and surrounding areas. The suspects, identified as Jorge Miranda, Damarion Anthony Haynes, Darain Dove, Marissa Hernandez, and Bradley Schreiner, face multiple charges, including grand theft and possession of stolen property. Their arrests came after a months-long investigation that tracked the suspects through vehicle descriptions and surveillance footage . These fire hydrant thefts are yet another sign of how crime is out of control in Los Angeles County. Thieves know they’ll face little or no consequences if they are caught, so they’re willing to risk the public’s safety for a small profit.https://t.co/vesGNVTyJB — Nathan Hochman (@NathanHochmanDA) June 5, 2024 The impact of these thefts extends beyond immediate safety concerns. Repairing and replacing the stolen hydrants is both time-consuming and expensive, further straining the resources of the city's water and fire departments. The LAFD and the Department of Water and Power (DWP) have been working tirelessly to restore hydrants and ensure that neighborhoods are not left exposed for extended periods. Local residents have expressed frustration and fear over the ongoing thefts. One resident from the Watts neighborhood remarked, "It's mind-boggling that someone would steal something so vital to our safety. We’re left feeling helpless and worried about what might happen if there’s a fire and no hydrant nearby." To combat the thefts, the LAPD has increased patrols in affected areas and is urging the public to report any suspicious activity near hydrants. Additionally, officials are considering implementing new security measures, such as tamper-proof designs and surveillance systems, to protect these critical pieces of infrastructure. The surge in hydrant thefts in Los Angeles is part of a broader trend of infrastructure thefts that have plagued various cities across the country. With the value of scrap metal remaining high, similar incidents have been reported in other urban areas, prompting a nationwide call for better protection of public utilities. As the investigation continues, authorities remain hopeful that increased vigilance and community cooperation will help stem the tide of hydrant thefts and restore safety to Los Angeles neighborhoods.
