Luke Combs Performs New Unreleased Heartbreak Ballad In New Zealand

Getting down in Auckland. Luke Combs is kicking off his new year with a tour Down Under, hitting Australia and New Zealand on an eight-stop run with Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Lane Pittman. https://www.instagram.com/p/DAEkZgmxsXd/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=c2556e8c-511d-471a-90ce-ca7f89607a3d Combs kicked off the tour with two stops in Auckland, New Zealand, and after this opening night, all the Kiwis are sharing clips to social media from the concert. Who would have thought Luke Combs would have such a massive New Zealand following? But fans are going crazy commenting on the shared clips, wanting to know all the details from the evening, like the setlist, what merch was available, how long the show was, and many other questions as a second wave of folks prepare to fill Eden Park tomorrow night, January 18th. But hey, if anything, his loyal following shows that music truly connects us all. Even though NZ is 19 hours ahead of us (I'm writing from the Central Time Zone), music fans in the States are eager to see what his show was like for those Down Under. And it looked electric. Combs, of course, partook in their tradition of drinking a beer out of a boot (a shoey) but spilled a good portion of it on his signature black Columbia PFG fishing shirt. @v0dkapineapple living legend #lukecombs #auckland ♬ original sound - emily As for his performance, Combs brought the heat by performing twangers like "Ain't No Love In Oklahoma," and his classic "Beer Never Broke My Heart." But during the acoustic portion of the show, Combs dialed things back and showed his fans a more vulnerable side. Since releasing his record Fathers & Sons, Combs has tapped into the tender "dad" side of his songwriting, and the acoustic section of his set is the perfect time to highlight these heartfelt songs. It was also the perfect time for Combs to break out a new one that fans have yet to hear. While he was on stage with just himself and his acoustic guitar, Combs performed a new track, seemingly titled "Ain't No Cowboy." The heartbreak ballad features the lyrics of a heartbroken man who no longer is with the woman he loves. While he might not have been the man he needed her to be in the lyrics, he wishes he had stepped up to the plate instead of watching her saddle up and ride away. The man feels like he "Ain't No Cowboy" for not fighting for her and changing his ways to be the man she needs. "Ain't no cowboy, but I wish I was We would've rode off together In the setting sun Instead of watching her  Ride right out of my mind If I could have roped her heart back I could have been what she needed when She saddled up, and she kicked up a pile a dust Ain't no cowboy But now I wish I was" Listening to this unrelated ballad left me with chills. Luke Combs does not miss, especially when laying down a heartbreak ballad. I sure hope we get this one sooner rather than later. Check it out. @ogbunningssnag #lukecombs #jordandavis #lukecombstour #2025 #mitchelletenpenny ♬ original sound - OGBunningsSnag

Chase Rice Uses Massive Bull Elk He Harvested Last Year To Launch “Come Hell Or High Water” Fundraiser For California & Carolina

Chase Rice is doing his best to raise money for both California and the Carolinas... and there could be something in it for you. The country music star is an avid hunter, and while he was out in Montana hunting elk last year, he came up with an idea. Rice's hometown had just been devastated by Hurricane Helene, and the "Bench Seat" singer wanted to somehow be able to give back to his community. He thought a cool way of doing so would be to down a bull elk and see if there would be some interest in auctioning off a knife made out of the animal's antlers. His plan started to come to fruition when he successfully killed a massive elk. However, the scope of the fundraiser changed a bit as of late when Los Angeles, California got hit with devastating wildfires, as Rice elaborated on in his post: "This September I killed this bull in Montana with my bow and had it in mind the whole hunt that I had to get one down to try and get meat and make a knife out of the antler to auction off for Carolina flood relief. Josh at Montana Knife Company and I got on the phone and he was gracious enough to build a knife out of one of the antlers. With everything going on in California we talked again and decided to make TWO knives, one for Carolina and one for California. These things are absolutely incredible." So how does the fundraiser work, you might be asking? Glad you asked, and Chase Rice was happy to share that the auction has now turned into more of a "give away." How will the give away work? I'll let Chase Rice explain: "Every $5 spent on the 'Come Hell Or High Water' T-shirt or Zippo lighter you have one entry to be able to win one of these two knives. As of right now, I believe we're over $100,000 dollars and have no plans of slowing down. THANK YALL FOR CARING. This shows the power of people when we come together for those who need it most. Send this message to anybody you know who would be willing to help and let's spread the word on this amazing fundraiser. We can't leave our own folks hanging." Fans can visit this link, which will take them to the official page of the "Come Hell or High Water Fundraiser." There, they can view an informational video about the Montana Knife Company's give away, which will eventually see two lucky winners each taking home a custom made blade. Other companies have also jumped in to offer prizes, including Yeti and Turtlebox, and the more money you spend to help with relief efforts, the more chances you have to win. And Chase Rice rally talked up the knifes in his announcement, even saying that he too is going to enter into the give away to try and win one of them: "They're made out of the elk that I killed this year in Montana. (They're) unbelievable knifes. I'm entering. I doubt I'll win, but let's raise as much money as we can for Carolina and California. Definitely don't forget about Carolina." https://twitter.com/ChaseRiceMusic/status/1880026525996908706 Probably one of the most unique and creative give aways I've ever seen. Props to Chase Rice and the Montana Knife Company for coming together and doing this to help those who really need on both the east coast and the west coast. We actually had Chase Rice on the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast not too long ago, and the country music star talked about playing at Concert For Carolina and the devastation in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina from Hurricane Helene, the evolution of his music over the years and his new album Go Down Singin’, as well as the new music that fans can expect in the near future. Download the podcast on Apple Podcasts by searching “Whiskey Riff Raff” or click here. We’re also available on Spotify and wherever else you can listen to podcasts. Cheers, y’all. Audio Video
