‘Chaotic Night’; Nets Revel in GOP’s ‘Embarrassing...Setbacks’ on Failed Votes

House Republicans suffered a series of cringe-worthy losses on Tuesday night as they failed to impeach Biden Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and advance a bill to provide funding to support Israel in its war against the animalistic terrorist group Hamas. Naturally‚ ABC‚ CBS‚ and NBC took victory laps Wednesday morning over the “chaotic night” and “stunner” on Capitol Hill with the GOP’s “embarrassing...setbacks.” We wish we could lead off with a different network‚ but ABC’s Good Morning America put an aurora of revelry. Co-host Robin Roberts teased the “chaotic night on Capitol Hill ends with a stunning vote” thanks to “Congressman Al Green‚ coming from surgery‚ still in hospital scrubs‚ to cast the key vote while a bill to provide aid to Israel also fails after Republicans backed away from a bipartisan border deal.”     What party was Green‚ Robin? Senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott deserved a cushy salary from House Democrats for the amount of water she carried for them: “[T]his is an embarrassing string of setbacks. In the last 24 hours alone‚ Republicans killed a border deal they helped negotiate‚ failed to impeach the Homeland Security secretary‚ and couldn’t even get enough votes to pass additional aid to Israel.” “Overnight‚ an embarrassing defeat for Republicans. The House failing to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas over his handling of the border...A handful of GOP lawmakers refusing to fall in line‚ saying the party provided no evidence of an impeachable offense‚” she added. Scott further noted the GOP “thought they had the votes‚ but then Texas Democrat Al Green‚ who just underwent emergency surgery‚ showed up‚ wheelchair-bound and in hospital scrubs‚ to cast the deciding vote” in one of many steps in “a chaotic 24 hours...with Republicans also backing away from a bipartisan border deal their own party helped negotiate” and was‚ in her view‚ “the most sweeping reform in decades.” For good measure‚ Scott tried to play cause and effect in both hours of the show to insist the GOP’s fear of Donald Trump — not its particulars — was why the deal failed (click “expand”): SCOTT: It’s the kind of package Johnson said he wanted for months. [TO JOHNSON] You said a few months ago that you wanted to see a bipartisan agreement on border security anD additional aid to Ukraine. Senators say that they did that. JOHNSON: They did not send us a border security measure. They didn’t. SCOTT: After Donald Trump started bashing the compromise‚ Johnson declared it dead on arrival. PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: It’s time for Republicans in Congress to show a little courage‚ to show a little spine‚ to make it clear to the American people that you work for them‚ not for anyone else. SCOTT: So‚ as for where things stand this morning‚ Senate Democrats will force two votes‚ one on that package‚ which is expected to fail. Another one with just additional aid to both Israel and Ukraine...[A]s for Trump‚ well‚ he is celebrating the news that that border bill is dead. Of course‚ he wants to run on immigration in November.  (....) SCOTT: You may remember that Republicans demanded border security provisions in exchange for additional aid to both Ukraine and Israel. Well‚ Democrats agreed to that. And now‚ Republicans are backing away from that deal. They’ve been receiving increasing pressure from former President Donald Trump‚ who wants to run on this issue in November. So‚ now‚ after four months of negotiation and a rare bipartisan compromise‚ that deal considered dead on arrival in both the Senate and House‚ with no clear path forward. NBC’s Today also first went to the vote with co-host Hoda Kotb teasing “new chaos in Washington” and co-host Savannah Guthrie chiming in that it was a “stunner”. Going later to Capitol Hill correspondent Ryan Nobles‚ Guthrie remarked it was quite “a surprise”.  Nobles boasted in part that it’s “safe to say....this did not turn out the way Republicans had planned” (click “expand”): NOBLES: Yeah‚ that is safe to say‚ Savannah. This did not turn out the way Republicans had planned. They hoped to use the impeachment of Alejandro Mayorkas as a way to put the border issues front and center. Instead‚ that vote failed‚ leaving Speaker Mike Johnson struggling to find a path forward. A stunning development on Capitol Hill and day of chaos for House Republicans — JOHNSON: The resolution is not adopted. NOBLES: — who were hoping to impeach Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Holding onto a razor-thin majority‚ there were a few Republican defections‚ but they still thought they had enough votes. That was until Democrat Al Green‚ recovering from surgery‚ made a surprise appearance‚ providing Democrats an extra vote‚ enough to kill the measure. (....) NOBLES: But Republicans‚ who begged for changes at the border‚ now arguing this package would make the situation worse. SENATOR RON JOHNSON (R-WI): This does more harm than good. NOBLES: The result is the best and only hope of any type of border reform is effectively dead while the crisis at the border continues to grow with no solution in sight. In the second hour‚ Guthrie returned to the “political stunner” as “[t]he vote went down in dramatic fashion” during a “chaotic night in Washington.” Nobles also sounded off on the “stunning turn of events that Republicans in the House were just not prepared for”. CBS Mornings made it three-for-three with the House GOP in the lead-off spot. Co-host Tony Dokoupil pivoted from the Eye Opener round-up to “the political confusion on Capitol Hill” and “[a]fter weeks of threatening to impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for allegedly ignoring the border crisis‚ GOP lawmakers did not have the votes to make an impeachment stick.” “And‚ at the very same time‚ some of those same Republicans‚ apparently spooked by a warning from Donald Trump‚ worked to kill a bipartisan senate bill that might have addressed the very same immigration problems Mayorkas is accused of ignoring‚” he continued. Going to congressional correspondent Nikole Killion‚ Dokoupil invited her to share the details since “people want to know what is going on there.” To see the relevant transcripts from February 7‚ click here (for ABC)‚ here (for CBS)‚ and here (for NBC).

Why Americans are no longer governed by the Constitution

Why Americans are no longer governed by the Constitution

Most conservatives view the U.S. Constitution as the central element that binds the identity of the nation together‚ but constitutions do not make peoples; peoples make constitutions. The Catholic political theorist and enlightenment skeptic Joseph de Maistre believed that no true constitution can ever be written by human hands but can only be inscribed on the hearts of a nation’s people by the almighty God. For Maistre‚ the notion that a constitution would‚ in and of itself‚ create the character of a nation was absurd. The values and norms contained in a constitution reflect the traditions and folkways that organically emerge from the character of a people. America’s founders understood the protestant Christian moral vision shared by most of the populace was critical to the nation’s success. The shared moral vision of the people‚ which serves as the real force of the constitution‚ pre-exists the written document itself. Any rights enumerated in the document are only a written formalization of that which is already held deeply sacred by the people‚ and their protection is entirely dependent on the continuance of that tradition. Maistre did not push for a universal form of government but instead believed that the best government would be one that naturally fit the needs and traditions of the people over which it ruled. An artificially imposed regime with no connection to the ways in which different communities lived their lives could not hope to govern them well. Virtuous leaders had a duty to guide their people toward a better future‚ but that could only be done in the context of a shared understanding of the common good. A constitution could not enforce this vision; it could only represent the spirit that already existed within the polis. America is a vast and complicated nation. It has always been a collection of very different regions‚ cultures‚ and traditions separated by the kind of geographical distances that would have formed individual nations in a place like Europe. This is why the country was originally governed as a confederation of separate states instead of one unified whole. Due to its divergent ways of life‚ geographical separation‚ and intermittent waves of large-scale immigration‚ America never truly achieved ethnogenesis. Instead‚ it relied on one consistent factor that most of its residents shared: protestant Christianity. While Catholic‚ Jewish‚ and eventually Muslim waves of immigration would all arrive‚ America’s initial population were protestant Christians‚ and it is from this firmament that the moral vision of America arose. America was founded by those who chose to leave their homes and strike out for new lands rather than compromise their way of life‚ and that deep instinct to prefer exit over assimilation persisted well into the nation’s history. Due to its size and regional diversity‚ America never truly formed a single national culture or identity. Whenever two or more groups disagreed‚ rather than being forced to reconcile and become one people‚ they simply split‚ venturing farther and farther into a seemingly endless frontier. A federal model allowed individual communities and states to operate very differently as long as they held to the shared moral framework of protestant Christianity. Subsidiarity‚ the idea that the political problems should be resolved as close to the locality where they originate as possible‚ meant that the traditions and folkways of each region could be maintained while still working inside the larger system of the nation. The religious character of America’s people may have changed‚ but the bedrock of its founding document has not. In modern America‚ the Constitution is held up as a secular procedural blueprint for objectively navigating disagreements between groups with vastly different moral visions‚ but nothing could be farther from the truth. As John Adams explained‚ the Constitution is made for a moral and religious people‚ and it is wholly inadequate for the governance of any other.America’s founders did not believe that the Constitution contained any kind of magical universal property of governance. They understood that the protestant Christian moral vision shared by most of the populace was critical to the nation’s success. I do not call myself a Christian nationalist‚ not because I disagree with the idea that biblical principles should be reflected in the laws of our nation but because this has been a core aspect of the American nation since its inception. The problem with the term Christian nationalism is that is turns a crucial pillar of our American identity into a fashionable political slogan that can be easily painted as new and radical by a hostile media elite. An approach to politics that is fundamentally protestant in its character is not revolutionary or novel. It is exactly what the Constitution represents. As hard as it may be to admit‚ we are no longer really governed by the Constitution‚ primarily because we are no longer the kind of people who can be. Conservatives like to believe that restoration of constitutional governance will fix our woes‚ but the founding document cannot make a people virtuous or grant them liberty. The Constitution was only ever the formalization of a way of life present in America’s founding stock‚ and without that shared character‚ our most precious documents become meaningless. The Constitution was never meant to objectively mediate the differences of two sides with radically different moral visions‚ and it never will. Protestant Christianity was central to the identity of the United States and the formation of its Constitution. Until the nation reforges a shared moral vision on that anvil‚ it will continue to be governed by the corrupt progressive theocratic oligarchy that currently terrorizes its people.

Alarming footage shows moment Biden appears to forget Hamas' name — and a reporter is forced to step in and help

President Joe Biden appeared to forget the name of the terrorist group that refuses to release hostages taken during the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. On Tuesday‚ a reporter asked Biden about ongoing negotiations between Hamas and Israel to secure the release of the remaining 132 hostages and end the war. Hamas rejected Israel's latest offer‚ producing a counteroffer of its own that Israel found completely unacceptable."What needs to get done for the hostage deal to get resolved‚ sir?" the reporter asked."There is some movement‚ and I don't wanna‚ I don't wanna..." Biden responded before pausing‚ closing his eyes‚ and staring ahead blankly."Let me choose my words— there's some movement‚ there's been...a response from the‚ uh...‚" the president continued‚ clearly struggling to find the correct word. "There's been a response...from...the opposition‚ but‚ um—"Finally‚ a reporter had to step in and help Biden remember Hamas' name."Hamas‚" the reporter interjected."Yes — I'm sorry — from Hamas‚" Biden finally said. — (@) The alarming incident came just two days after Biden told a crowd in Las Vegas that he spoke with François Mitterrand after winning the presidency. But that's not true because Mitterrand has been dead since 1996. Instead‚ Biden meant to say "Macron‚" a reference to the current president of France‚ Emmanuel Macron‚ according to the official transcript of Biden's remarks.Meanwhile‚ the latest NBC News poll found that more than three-fourths of voters are concerned whether the 81-year-old commander in chief has the physical and mental aptitude required of the president.Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.)‚ who is challenging Biden for the White House‚ said Tuesday that these two incidents demonstrate how the Democratic Party is steering America "into a disaster" by pushing Biden's re-election."I'm attacked for being honest and saying the quiet part out loud — the part DC insiders only do in private. I admire our President. I voted for him and campaigned for him. He has visited my home and been gracious to my family and our country‚" Phillips said. "But shame on all of you pretending everything is OK. You are leading us — and him — into a disaster‚ and you damn well know it‚" he added. — (@) Like Blaze News? The GOP is USELESS: Republicans FAIL to impeach Mayorkas

As the United States continues to be invaded through its southern border‚ Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has continued to downplay and allow it. The danger this spells out for the country has by and far made Mayorkas the most impeachable man in recent history. And yet‚ the GOP has failed to do so. Mayorkas barely survived an impeachment vote on Tuesday in the House after several Republicans helped stop the GOP-led attack on him. The vote to impeach the secretary over his handling of the southern border was 214 in favor to 216 opposed. Glenn Beck and Pat Gray are disappointed‚ to say the least. “They’re useless‚ they’re worthless‚ and rarely‚ rarely do they pull anything off that we want them to or expect them to‚” Gray tells Glenn. Four Republicans joined the Democrats to vote against impeaching Mayorkas. “He’s been telling us there’s no crisis‚ no invasion‚” Glenn says. “10 million illegal immigrants have entered the U.S.‚ doubling the existing population‚ and the Republicans couldn’t get that done.” “The one thing you can say about the Democrats is no matter how radical‚ they all move together. They’re moving together to destroy the country‚ and we can’t get enough Republicans to stand together to save the Constitution‚” he continues. “It’s infuriating.” Want more from Glenn Beck?To enjoy more of Glenn’s masterful storytelling‚ thought-provoking analysis‚ and uncanny ability to make sense of the chaos‚ subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America‚ defend the Constitution‚ and live the American dream.

NYPD 'robocop' no longer patrolling Times Square subway station: 'I thought it was a toy'

The robot touted as a "cost-efficient" way to keep New York City subway riders safe has been tucked away in storage after a portion of the pilot program that brought it to a Times Square station has drawn to an uneventful close.Last year‚ Mayor Eric Adams gave not one but two public announcements about Knightscope K5. Standing five feet‚ three inches tall and weighing 400 pounds‚ the robot had cameras outfitted on all sides to monitor the 42 Street subway station mezzanine. It also offered a help button for riders to press in case of an emergency. The city leased K5 for $12‚250 total‚ and it was placed on the Times Square subway beat from midnight until 6 a.m. for two months. Perhaps fudging the numbers slightly‚ Adams claimed that the cost worked out to the bargain price of $9 an hour. "This is below minimum wage‚ no bathroom breaks‚ no meal breaks‚ this is a good investment‚" Adams said in September. As so often happens with quick-fix gimmicks‚ K5 seemed to be little more than a subway novelty feature. A recent New York Times report claimed that riders almost never used it for safety. When they interacted with it at all‚ they usually took a selfie with it or attempted to damage it."I thought it was a toy‚" claimed Derek Dennis‚ a 56-year-old signal engineer cited by the Times.Albert Fox Cahn‚ the executive director of the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project‚ previously called it a "trash can on wheels" but then joked that "it looks like the wheels aren’t even working at this point."Even without functioning wheels‚ a trash bin can be useful‚ but it doesn't seem that K5 ever brought any measure of safety to the station or cost savings to the city. For one thing‚ it was always flanked by two police officers making considerably more than $9 an hour. Two such officers who spoke with the Times earlier this month claimed they'd never seen K5 "on the beat."Kelvin Caines‚ a security officer‚ gave the Times a similar story. K5's cops "never let it do anything‚" he said. "They could at least walk it down the hallway."The NYPD even seemed to acknowledge tacitly that the K5 trial had been a failure. During a recent video montage featuring all of the new‚ exciting technology the department had used in the last year‚ K5 never once made an appearance.Still‚ K5 was deployed on just a six-month pilot program overall‚ and a spokesperson for Mayor Adams stated that the robot completed its Times Square stint in December as scheduled."The Adams administration is constantly exploring innovative technologies that can advance the work we’ve done to bring down crime and keep New Yorkers safe‚ while maximizing the use of taxpayer dollars‚" said Charles Lutvak. "We are reviewing options for the K5’s next deployment as part of the pilot."Stacy Stephens‚ a spokesman for Knightscope‚ declined to comment on the future of K5 in NYC. "Unfortunately‚ we are not authorized to speak about certain clients‚" she told the Times. "We do hope you understand." Like Blaze News? Popular TikTok transvestite outed as a pedophile who stalked a mother and molested her children

A cross-dressing TikTok star has been exposed in court as a pedophile who molested children and stalked a family into homelessness. The mother of the victims told the pedophile in court Tuesday‚ "You can wear any mask you like‚ but the truth is out and everybody knows who you really are‚ finally." The Adelaide Advertiser reported that the middle-aged man who calls himself Rachel Queen Burton was arrested in October 2022 by the elite Joint Anti Child Exploitation team over crimes that took place in rural and regional South Australia in 2019. — (@) Burton‚ a self-described "proud Trans Woman living [his] best life with no regrets‚" initially denied the allegations; however‚ he has since pleaded guilty to aggravated counts of producing and possessing child porn‚ gross indecency‚ and indecent assault. Judge Rauf Soulio of the South Australia District Court heard that Burton repeatedly molested two children prior to his rise as a local LGBT icon on TikTok‚ where he netted over 36‚000 followers and frequently appeared with the transgender flag. The victims' mother told the court that she fled with the kids upon discovering the abuse‚ but that they were pursued by Burton. The mother indicated she managed to take the children to a police-issued safe house‚ but even there‚ safety proved illusory as Burton "showed up at the window‚ peering in‚" prompting them to flee again‚ reported the Advertiser. "No food‚ scared children‚ too scared to go anywhere‚ never knowing if you could find us‚" said the mother. "When the children did sleep‚ nightmares haunted them." Burton appeared in court via video link from a men's prison during the hearing‚ affording the mother an opportunity to address him. "You are the monster‚ you make me feel sick to my stomach‚" she said. "You are a gross‚ phony‚ self-indulgent thing who has cheated my children out of so much‚ and took it away from them without care‚" continued the mother. "In your online rants‚ you showed no remorse for your bad behavior‚ all while knowing what you had done … getting an audience for your false life was far more important." The pedophile reportedly blubbered throughout the victims' statements. The woman's daughter‚ the youngest victim‚ said‚ "I was happy before you broke the rules‚ I didn't know what was going on at the time‚ I feel angry at you for doing the wrong thing to me." "I felt like a bird trapped in a cage‚" added the youngest victim. "All I wanted was to be free." The girl's brother noted he has chronic nightmares on account of the abuse. The victims' older brother‚ who was reportedly not abused by Burton‚ characterized the transvestite as "repulsive‚ filthy and vile." Reduxx reported that Burton had revealed in a January 2022 video that he had been taking sex-change hormone therapy for over a month. "I [thought] I was supposed to get moody. But I haven't been moody since starting the testosterone blockers ... I got a little b****y — just a little b****y‚ that was when I was straight on the estrogen‚" said the pedophile. "I still cry. I still cry heaps. I'm still an emotional wreck. But it's a nice emotion." Despite his alleged use of hormones‚ there is no indication he will be transferred to a women's prison. Critics have taken notice of Burton's seamless transition from predator to trans influencer. The Texas Family Project asked‚ "Does this surprise anyone?" Genevieve Gluck‚ co-founder of the feminist publication Reduxx‚ noted‚ "Paraphilias‚ or sexual fetishes‚ are symptoms of sexual pathology‚ and they often escalate and overlap." South African billionaire Elon Musk wrote‚ "If evil people are given a moral cloak that cannot be questioned‚ they are certain to wear it. This is not to say that all transgender people are bad – that would be false – but rather that they should be no more above questioning than anyone else." Burton will reportedly remain in custody until further sentencing in April. Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Marine Corps orders 'wall-to-wall inspection' of all barracks following reports of squalid living conditions

The Marine Corps announced Wednesday that it will conduct a "wall-to-wall inspection" of all its barracks following recent reports of squalid living conditions."Effective immediately‚ Marine Corps Installations Command will conduct an environmental‚ health‚ and safety inspection of all Marine Corps barracks to ensure service compliance with its commitment to its residents to provide a safe‚ secure‚ clean‚ and consistent living standard across the unaccompanied housing enterprise‚" according to a press release by the Marine Corps.Major General David Maxwell‚ MCICOM Commander‚ stated that the service-wide inspection would allow the Marine Corps to get a complete assessment."The benefit as we transition to professional management will be that we have a point of reference for the condition of each barracks. This will enable our senior leaders to understand the totality of issues regarding their facility and get to quickly solving their problems‚" Maxwell explained. The Marine Corps noted that it aims to "improve our Marines' quality of life" by investing in the barracks.Installation Commanders‚ leaders outside the chain of command responsible for the barracks‚ will be in charge of conducting inspections by March 15‚ 2024.Assistant Commandant General Christopher Mahoney called it a "wall-to-wall inspection‚" claiming it would provide "a good baseline understanding of the condition of all our barracks so we can identify and allocate resources accordingly.""We're going to take a look at every single barracks room‚ every squad bay‚ to ensure the health‚ well-being and safety of each and every one of you‚" Mahoney vowed.According to Commandant General Eric Smith‚ the barracks are over 30 years old on average.Photos shared in 2021 by a Marine showed moldy barracks in North Carolina's Camp Lejeune. Last month‚ pictures posted to Reddit purported to show mold and a dead rodent at California's Camp Pendleton.A September Government Accountability Office report revealed that the Department of Defense's military barracks pose "potentially serious health and safety risks‚" Blaze News previously reported.Following the inspection of 10 campuses‚ the GAO found that service members frequently dealt with "clogged showers‚ broken door locks‚ broken elevators‚ and apparent mold growth." As of March 2023‚ about 17‚000 Marines were living in "substandard barracks‚" the report stated. The GAO recommended that the Marine Corps update its "minimum standards for assignment to barracks to ensure they reflect DOD guidance on health and safety standards for barracks once DOD's minimum standards have been clarified." 'Godzilla Minus One' destroys Hollywood

No matter what suffering‚ loss‚ or devastation you go through in life‚ there is always something worth living for. This message is the beating heart of the latest entry in the Toho Godzilla franchise‚ "Godzilla Minus One." The new film takes the iconic Kaiju back to his roots in a story set in postwar Japan‚ a brutal time that allows the movie to explore the resilience of the human spirit as it comes to terms with loss and regret. It's rare to find this kind of depth in any American movie today‚ let alone in a masterfully crafted‚ crowd-pleasing action pic. Kōichi Shikishima (Ryunosuke Kamiki) is kamikaze war pilot who feigns mechanical difficulties to avoid completing his suicide mission. When Godzilla attacks the repair island he lands on‚ he freezes‚ unable to shoot the monster from his plane. This results in the death of all engineers on the island but one‚ who pins the blame on Shikishima and his cowardice. Guilt-ridden and shamed by his neighbors upon returning home‚ Shikishima tries to move on‚ taking in a homeless woman with a baby who was abandoned by her parents. The two agree to raise the child‚ and over the years they become a sort of family‚ despite his unwillingness to accept them as such. He serves as gunman on a minesweeper‚ joining a ragtag team of war vets. What peace our hero finds is short-lived. Godzilla re-emerges twice as large and twice as strong to bring devastation to the whole of Japan. With the government unwilling to aid the people‚ Shikishima joins the citizens' army that has formed to take out Godzilla themselves. The franchise reaches new heights in the depiction of this battle‚ with scenes of beautifully staged monster mayhem. But it is Shikishima's internal struggle that elevates the film emotionally and sets it apart from its predecessors. Can this failed kamikaze pilot learn to let go of the past and embrace a new kind of sacrifice — to honor the fallen by carrying on? It's rare to find this kind of depth in any American movie today‚ let alone in a masterfully crafted‚ crowd-pleasing action pic. And audiences have clearly been desperate for such rich entertainment instead of the usual ideologically driven remakes and feel-bad fables of racial division. Toho Godzilla's rampage through the international and domestic box office shows how defenseless Hollywood is against any would-be conquerers. Will this spring's U.S. production "Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire" put up any fight? Not to sound unpatriotic‚ but humiliating defeat wouldn't be all bad. As far as wake-up calls go‚ you could do worse than a 20‚000-ton radioactive lizard.

Senator reveals what’s going on behind the scenes of the border crisis

Democrats love to cite a slew of humanitarian reasons to justify their open border policies‚ such as providing asylum for those fleeing poverty‚ war‚ and violence. But according to Kentucky Senator Rand Paul‚ “Immigration is about power politics” and “has nothing to do with the individuals” migrating here. “If you talk to these people” and ask if they “care about the little kids coming across [or] what might happen to teenage girls coming across‚ they don't care about that. All they care about is votes; their whole goal is to take Texas‚” Paul tells Dave Rubin. Even the new border bill‚ which proposes allowing up to 5‚000 migrants into the country per day (1.8 million per year) before any action is taken‚ is proof of this. “After 1.8 million a year‚ the rules aren't very strong. They give the discretion to [Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas]‚” who just barely escaped impeachment yesterday‚ Paul explains. “Meanwhile‚ the Biden campaign is cutting the razor wire and removing the cargo containers that are essentially a wall on the border‚” so “we're going to negotiate with them and trust them to use new power when they're right now using their [current] power to disrupt the border wall?” “I'm actually not against immigration; I'm actually for more lawful immigration‚” Paul continues‚ “but they need to be these little narrow bills‚ but instead they say‚ ‘We'll increase employment- based or work-based visas but only if you give the 18 million people already here the right to vote.” “I'm pretty open on this issue; I would give work permits even to those who came here illegally ... but I'm not giving them the right to vote.” He continues‚ “So‚ we've stayed at a standstill for the 12 years I've been here. No immigration changes have happened ... none of it happens because the Democrats say‚ ‘All or nothing.”’ “What do you think the Democrats’ intentions are?” asks Dave. “All they care about is votes‚” especially in Texas‚ Paul explains. “The only way they take Texas is to legalize a couple of million people here illegally and let them vote.” To hear the full conversation‚ watch the clip below.
