The Abundant Faith in Super Bowl LX

The biggest game of the sports year is here: Super Bowl Sunday. The fact that this game takes place on a Sunday seems fitting for this year’s clear theme among the players preparing for the game of their lives. Amid the countless interviews, many players have said their faith is the most important thing in their lives. Fortunately, platforms like Sports Spectrum are willing to be on the front lines of bringing faith and sports together. At a time when there appears to be a reawakening regarding the importance of God, the platform is providing a space for the masses to hear the message of Jesus. Sports Spectrum’s interviews happen alongside the regular interviews conducted by major sports media. And yet, there are consistent themes in the questions. They ask players and coaches how it feels to be part of the Super Bowl experience. Then they ask directly how their faith or their relationship with Jesus has grown or been impacted this year. Their approach is natural and rooted in the belief that faith is not a stale idea but a living knowledge that God is with us through everything. Players Testify to Faith New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was asked by Sports Spectrum how he leaned into Christ throughout the year. He said: “It’s a constant in my life. Knowing that the best thing about a football team is that there are other brothers on the team that are followers of Christ … knowing that hearing the Word and spreading the Word is bigger than football.” "Being able to shine light on others and get them to follow Jesus Christ is what I'm here for."We talked to New England Patriots QB Drake Maye at Super Bowl LX media availability pic.twitter.com/ZIHaoigIHe— Sports Spectrum (@Sports_Spectrum) February 4, 2026 Maye noted that many team members gather in the chapel to pray before games. Scripture reading and reflection, he said, help ground him and his teammates in what is most important. Whether Patriots or Seahawks, players or coaches, all seemed willing to speak about how faith in Christ anchors their lives. Cooper Kupp, the former Rams Super Bowl champion, said his faith has been critical during the highs and lows of his life and career. “Hearing lies and things that are spoken over you and into your life has been tough,” Kupp said. “For me, the faith that I have—the belief that I have—I have this belief that the things I was doing were for a greater purpose than myself, and that there was a point behind it. The joy that I felt playing this game—just because it felt like I was made to do it, and being able to glorify God through that—that is gonna make it all worth it. It sustained me through all the highs and all the lows. Truly wouldn’t be here today without it.” Veteran WR Cooper Kupp has been there and done that, and is now mentoring young star Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The two share a bond in Christ too."I just need to go out there and glorify God," Kupp says."I'm here to serve the Lord," JSN says. https://t.co/6F4Sv6s1N0— Sports Spectrum (@Sports_Spectrum) February 6, 2026 For a player like Kupp, who has seen both the highest achievements and the biggest doubts about his game, faith seems to have been the fuel that carried him through it all. Patriots punter Bryce Baringer told Sports Spectrum something similar. Baringer said everything is because of—and for—God. He noted that before every game he says a simple prayer: “I ask Him for stillness and calmness … I say, here I am Lord, I come to do your will.” ‘Jesus Is Everything’ Drake Thomas, a linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks, told Sports Spectrum: “Jesus is everything to me. He’s the unshakeable foundation that I lean into in all situations.” Undrafted out of college, Drake Thomas will now start for the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. Through it all, he's leaned on his faith.“Jesus is everything to me. Without Jesus, I’m not here. He’s the unshakeable foundation that I lean on in all situations.” https://t.co/8wuzGmfHhJ— Sports Spectrum (@Sports_Spectrum) February 5, 2026 Seahawks gameday captain Brady Russell, who has influenced the faith of several teammates, said the biggest lesson he learned from God this season was patience. For three years he wanted a bigger role in the offense and thought he deserved it. Yet Russell said that if he had gotten what he wanted, he would not be serving as the Super Bowl gameday captain for his role on special teams. His message: We must trust and be patient with God. Sometimes what we desire isn’t what’s best for us. "Consistent time with the Lord, you're going to reflect His fruit." Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl game day captain @brady_russell shares his faith in Christ at Super Bowl LX. pic.twitter.com/TDDCVX03GD— Sports Spectrum (@Sports_Spectrum) February 5, 2026 Finally, the words of Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson seem to summarize the connection between faith and football for these teams. He noted that New England is one of the least religious parts of the country. Still, he believes God has placed people in the organization who are “filled with the Spirit.” The reason, he said, is simple: “God is using them to draw people to Himself.” As the world turns to watch the biggest sporting event of the year, may it also learn to bow before the God of the universe—whom these players know as real and necessary for life. Because win or lose the Super Bowl, God remains the same. And as Patriots safety Dell Pettus said, “I may not know the future, but as long as I trust God I’ll be in the right place, and I’ll be appreciative of whatever I get.” The post The Abundant Faith in Super Bowl LX appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Leftist Journos and Celebs Slime ‘Dictator’ Trump and His ‘Nazi’ ICE Agents

Don Lemon – along with anti-ICE protestors – invaded a St. Paul, MN church that the former CNN anchor later insulted as full of white supremacists. Lemon’s subsequent arrest enraged his cronies in the leftist media, with the likes of his old CNN buddy Jim Acosta blaring that this was Donald Trump “trying to criminalize journalism.”  Before Lemon’s arrest, he and his ilk had spent an entire month attacking ICE agents. The elitist media nastily depicted them as murderous “Nazis” and Trump’s personal “Gestapo” that had disappeared people like the old Soviet Union. This past month also saw lefty celebrities like actors Mark Ruffalo and Giancarlo Esposito call for “revolution” from their privileged places on the Red Carpet. At the Grammys, singer Billie Eilish cursed ICE from the podium. Bruce Springsteen actually penned an anti-Trump ballad. The following are the most obnoxious outbursts from leftist journalists and celebrities over the last month:    Don Lemon After Invading Church: That Type of Christianity Comes from White Supremacy   Don Lemon After Invading Church: That Type of Christianity Comes from White Supremacy— Former CNN anchor Don Lemon on the I’ve Had It podcast, January 19, 2026. pic.twitter.com/Y2YdmKakPF — Geoffrey Dickens (@GCDickens) January 29, 2026   “There is a certain degree of racism there and there’s a certain degree of entitlement. I think people who are, you know, in the religious groups like that, it’s not the type of Christianity that I practice, but I think that they’re entitled and that — that entitlement comes from a supremacy, a white supremacy…It’s religious freedom, but only if you’re a Christian and only if you’re a white male.”— Former CNN anchor Don Lemon on the I’ve Had It podcast, January 19.    Jennifer Welch to Don Lemon: You Are “Prime Bait” for Trump’s White Nationalists   Jennifer Welch to Don Lemon: You Are “Prime Bait” for Trump’s White Nationalists— Host Jennifer Welch to former CNN anchor Don Lemon on the I’ve Had It podcast, January 19, 2026. pic.twitter.com/YUH1ax41XC — Geoffrey Dickens (@GCDickens) January 29, 2026   “That is one of those white evangelical churches that turn out to vote for Donald Trump, 80 plus percent of that sect of Christianity….These are the people who feel like America is for Americans and Americans only. These are white nationalists, and the DOJ got their panties in a wad because these protesters went straight to them and addressed their hypocrisy. You, a gay black journalist, are – I mean, prime bait for them to drum up these charges.”— Host Jennifer Welch to former CNN anchor Don Lemon on the I’ve Had It podcast, January 19.    Trump Is “Trying to Criminalize Journalism,” This Is “Dangerous, Dictator Stuff”   Jim Acosta: Trump is “Trying to Criminalize Journalism,” This Is “Dangerous, Dictator Stuff”— Former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta on MS NOW’s Velshi, January 31, 2026. pic.twitter.com/7NuK9N8Jk7 — Geoffrey Dickens (@GCDickens) February 3, 2026   “We’ve now reached the arresting journalists phase of Donald Trump’s authoritarian project in America. He’s [Donald Trump] trying to criminalize journalism….And this is dictator stuff. This is dangerous dictator stuff.”— Former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta on MS NOW’s Velshi, January 31.   Don Lemon to ICE Agents: F**k Off, You Dumb Jack-Booted Nazis!    Don Lemon has a MELTDOWN and attacks ICE: "You are fat f*ck losers who just crawled out of a trailer park from some Proud Boy meeting... You are the poorly educated that Donald Trump loves….You’re out there doing his bidding, doing things that are illegal, doing things that are unconstitutional, doing things that are inhumane, like killing someone….You are fat fuck losers who just crawled out of a trailer park from some Proud Boy meeting….You are thugs, jack-booted thugs….You stupid, dumb, ignorant, poorly educated, Proud Boys, Nazis marching through.”— Former CNN anchor Don Lemon on The Don Lemon Show podcast, January 9.   Rick Wilson: This Is Just Like Nazi Germany In 1936   “They’ve got people in the street shooting Americans because they want us to shut up. PBS Guests Invoke Hitler, Jim Crow Over ICE-Election Conspiracy Theory

Boston Globe columnist Kimberly Atkins Stohr and Washington Post counterpart Kathleen Parker pinch-hit for Jonathan Capehart and David Brooks, respectively, on Friday’s PBS NewsHour, where they teamed up with host Geoff Bennett to invoke Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf, chief Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, and Jim Crow all over a conspiracy theory about ICE monitoring the upcoming midterms that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed as “very silly.” During an answer about whether Trump’s call to “nationalize” elections is serious or just bluster, Stohr added a few more election-related concerns, “But I'm concerned about call—not denying that ICE will show up at election stations, that the call for this increasing redistricting, mid-decade redistricting in states in order to try to game the system. Elections are supposed to be sacred in any functioning democracy. And that the president of the United States is the one making the call to disparage them and try to rig the system is really alarming.”   After Jonathan Capehart substitute Kimberly Atkins Stohr claims she finds "not denying that ICE will show up at election stations" and "the call for this increasing redistricting, mid-decade redistricting in states" "really alarming," David Brooks substitute Kathleen Parker adds… pic.twitter.com/22EqLJApyG — Alex Christy (@alexchristy17) February 7, 2026   Of course, Stohr means Republican redistricting because she was silent on Virginia Democrats’ Thursday proposal for a 10-1 map in a state where Kamala Harris received only 51.8 percent in 2024. Double standards aside, Bennett then turned to Parker and wondered, “Kathleen, to Kimberly's point, we have seen this from President Trump before. How much this time feels more organized and, because of that, more dangerous?” According to Parker, Trump’s behavior is part of a trend that dates back to 2020, “And he can't let it go because I think he's taken a page from Mein Kampf, frankly, you know, the saying that if you say—tell a big lie often enough and repeat it, then people will believe it. And the theory was further refined by the propaganda head in Nazi Germany, Mr. Joseph Goebbels. And the idea is, apparently, it's true that—they would know, I guess—that people will believe a big lie quicker than they will believe a small lie.” But Parker wasn’t just recalling 2020. She was predicting 2026 as well, “So Trump goes big, you know, with everything he does, big beautiful bills, big beautiful lie. And I think he's just going to keep going and going and trying to make people lose confidence. Maybe they stay away from the polls. Maybe they get together and his MAGA troops will come together and challenge the election results.” She also declared, “I think you're right that ICE will show up and I think the activists and the MAGA troops, so to speak, will be present at many polling places. So it's very dangerous, because where does that lead, ultimately? It gives Trump an opportunity to say—maybe it gives him an opportunity to challenge the next election, whether it's the midterms or the presidential election in 2026, assuming he allows it to come—to take place.” Bennett then teed up a video of Leavitt talking about ICE, “On the matter of ICE potentially at polling places, our White House correspondent, Liz Landers, asked that question at a White House press briefing this past week, because it was Steve Bannon who floated it, and the White House didn't rule it out. Here's that.” In truth, Leavitt told Landers, “That's not something I have ever heard the president consider, no.” As for Bennett’s claim that “the White House didn’t rule it out,” Leavitt and Landers appeared to have different definitions for “around,” as she told her, “I can't guarantee that an ICE agent won't be around a polling location in November. I mean, that's, frankly, a very silly hypothetical question.”   Despite a clip of Karoline Leavitt saying ICE at polling locations is "not something I have ever heard the president" and "a very silly hypothetical question," Stohr claimed, "And we can use another historic analogy, which is during Jim Crow, the fact that police were often sent… pic.twitter.com/xl1fqtzmrU — Alex Christy (@alexchristy17) February 7, 2026   However, Bennett tried to cling to the idea, “And you can argue it's not a hypothetical question. It's not a rhetorical question, because, in many ways, this is a multifront strategy, legal pressure, DOJ demands, raids at the Fulton County election office. How do you see it?” Stohr replied by trying to add on to Parker’s Nazi analogies, “That's exactly right. And we can use another historic analogy, which is during Jim Crow, the fact that police were often sent around polling stations in order to discourage people of color from casting votes, even though the Constitution was amended to specifically protect that right.” She also claimed, “The law won't protect you if you don't have government that is backing it up and actually flouting it. So all of this is from playbooks from the darkest times in our history, and they can't be ignored. I'm concerned about it, because I don't want people—once people lose faith in their elections, that's a big pillar of democracy that falls in itself.” What if people lose faith in elections because PBS baselessly speculates about “troops” at polling places trying to intimidate people? Here is a transcript for the February 6 show: PBS News Hour 2/6/2026 7:40 PM ET KIMBERLY ATKINS STOHR: But I'm concerned about call—not denying that ICE will show up at election stations, that the call for this increasing redistricting, mid-decade redistricting in states in order to try to game the system. Elections are supposed to be sacred in any functioning democracy. And that the president of the United States is the one making the call to disparage them and try to rig the system is really alarming. GEOFF BENNETT: Kathleen, to Kimberly's point, we have seen this from President Trump before. How much this time feels more organized and, because of that, more dangerous? KATHLEEN PARKER: I agree. It is more organized. And everything he does in terms of, he's trying to undermine confidence and faith in the electoral process all along. And with this whole — now he's still clinging again to the 2020 — we know it was a fully regular election he lost. And he can't let it go because I think he's taken a page from Mein Kampf, frankly, you know, the saying that if you say — tell a big lie often enough and repeat it, then people will believe it. And the theory was further refined by the propaganda head in Nazi Germany, Mr. Joseph Goebbels. And the idea is, apparently, it's true that — they would know, I guess — that people will believe a big lie quicker than they will believe a small lie. So Trump goes big, you know, with everything he does, big beautiful bills, big beautiful lie. And I think he's just going to keep going and going and trying to make people lose confidence. Maybe they stay away from the polls. Maybe they get together and his MAGA troops will come together and challenge the election results. I think you're right that ICE will show up and I think the activists and the MAGA troops, so to speak, will be present at many polling places. It gives Trump an opportunity to say — maybe it gives him an opportunity to challenge the next election, whether it's the midterms or the presidential election in 2026, assuming he allows it to come — to take place. BENNETT: On the matter of ICE potentially at polling places, our White House correspondent, Liz Landers, asked that question at a White House press briefing this past week, because it was Steve Bannon who floated it, and the White House didn't rule it out. Here's that. LIZ LANDERS: Thank you, Karoline. Steve Bannon recently said, quote, "We're going to have ICE around the polls come November." Is that something that the president is considering? KAROLINE LEAVITT: That's not something I have ever heard the president consider, no. LANDERS: So, you can guarantee to be American public that ICE will not be around polling locations or voting locations in November? LEAVITT: I can't guarantee that an ICE agent won't be around a polling location in November. I mean, that's, frankly, a very silly hypothetical question. BENNETT: And you can argue it's not a hypothetical question. It's not a rhetorical question, because, in many ways, this is a multifront strategy, legal pressure, DOJ demands, raids at the Fulton County election office. How do you see it? STOHR: That's exactly right. And we can use another historic analogy, which is during Jim Crow, the fact that police were often sent around polling stations in order to discourage people of color from casting votes, even though the Constitution was amended to specifically protect that right. Surrogacy 'trafficking'? Unmarried Chinese couple in the US accused of massive baby scam — 21 kids placed in foster care

A California-based, unmarried Chinese couple is under scrutiny for allegedly running a massive surrogacy fraud operation that deceived potentially dozens of American women and placed 21 young children in questionable circumstances.Guojun Xuan, 65, and his partner, Silvia Zhang, 38, were arrested on suspicion of child abuse in May, then released on bond pending further investigation, NBC News reported. Their brief arrests were sparked by hospital staff’s reports of child abuse after their 2-month-old son sustained traumatic head injuries.'What you did — and what you continue to do by staying silent — is foul, reckless, and cruel.'Video evidence obtained by the Arcadia Police Department allegedly revealed that the children in Xuan and Zhang’s care “were subjected to physical and emotional abuse” by nannies, abuse that authorities suspected the couple knew “was occurring and let ... happen.” The footage allegedly showed a 56-year-old nanny violently shaking and striking the 2-month-old child.Authorities found 15 children in Xuan and Zhang’s nine-bedroom home and another six children staying with the couple’s friends. The 21 children, who ranged from 2 months to 13 years old, were placed and remain in foster care.It is unclear how many children were born through surrogacy. The couple is believed to have one child together naturally, and Xuan is believed to be the biological father of a 13-year-old daughter.Surrogate mothers claimed they were told the couple had either no children or only one child and were seeking surrogates after failed in vitro fertilization attempts. They also alleged that they were not made aware that Xuan and Zhang controlled the surrogacy agency representing them.RELATED: The sad truth behind Meghan Trainor’s surrogacy story Guojun Xuan and Silvia Zhang's home. Allen J. Schaben / Los Angeles Times via Getty ImagesSurrogates told the Wall Street Journal in August that they had been in contact with federal agents, who informed them they were investigating whether the couple was selling children. “We never sell our babies,” Zhang told the WSJ. “We take care of them very well.”Several surrogate mothers are fighting for custody of the children they carried for the couple. Xuan and Zhang have filed lawsuits against at least two surrogates who ended contact with them before giving birth last fall, claiming a breach of contract.Kayla Elliott, a surrogate mother, told NBC News in July that she was led to believe she was helping a couple struggling to conceive and was unaware that they had many other children. Elliott is fighting to obtain custody of the child, telling NewsNation that she suspects “there’s some type of trafficking going on.”Tronderrica James, 30, another surrogate, filed a lawsuit against the couple, arguing that they gave misleading and false information about their intentions. James stated that she was contacted by an individual named Jasmine in 2023, who described the couple as “longing for their miracle baby,” according to court documents. Jasmine allegedly claimed the couple could not speak with James directly because of “a language barrier.”In an email to Xuan and Zhang, James wrote, “You gambled with my life. You gambled with the life of a child. You misled me, misrepresented your role, and may have broken multiple state and federal laws in the process — and you still haven’t had the decency to provide a single truthful explanation.”“What you did — and what you continue to do by staying silent — is foul, reckless, and cruel,” James stated.Xuan and Zhang reportedly remain under investigation. No criminal charges have been filed. In the past six months, the couple has had another five babies born to surrogate mothers, the New York Post reported.RELATED: '50 high-quality sons': Chinese men are siring US citizen 'mega-families' via surrogacy: Report Photo by CHRISTOPHE ARCHAMBAULT/AFP via Getty ImagesXuan and Zhang have denied any wrongdoing, claiming that they just wanted to have a large family. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office told Blaze News that the matter remains under review by the Arcadia Police Department. The FBI declined comment. Xuan, Zhang, James, and the Arcadia Police Department did not respond to a request for comment.Like Blaze News? Texas just got a preview of how Democrats take over

Last week, Democrats flipped a formerly red county blue in a special election in Texas Senate District 9, which covers part of Fort Worth and the neighboring suburbs of Keller and North Richland Hills. Taylor Rehmet, a young machinist with no political experience, beat Republican Leigh Wambsganss by more than 14 points.Political commentator Bill King flagged the scale of the shift. He noted that Republican Kelly Hancock won the seat by 20 points in 2022 and that Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris in the district by 17 points in 2024. A loss like this should worry Republicans heading into the midterms later this year.In Texas and other red states, Republicans need to meet voters where they live. So, what happened? Some Republicans blame turnout. They argue the county hasn’t turned left; Democrats simply showed up and Republicans stayed home. On that theory, the result reflects motivation, not the district’s real preferences. That explanation doesn’t hold.A Republican candidate has the same opportunity to motivate voters as a Democrat. In a district with a large conservative majority, the Republican should enjoy a built-in advantage. She needs only a fraction of her base to turn out. The Democrat needs near-perfect performance from his side.King also argues the result fits a broader trend. He says the numbers match polling over the last year and signal growing negativity toward Texas’ Republican leadership. Low turnout didn’t create the result so much as reveal it.Rehmet’s win still doesn’t guarantee Democrats will take over Texas. But it does show a tactic that keeps working: Democrats run as generic moderates, keep the party label in the background, and dare Republicans to make the race about cultural signaling instead of daily life.As writer Bill Scher noted in Washington Monthly, Rehmet didn’t “wrap himself in a Democratic flag.” Much like his counterparts in Virginia and New Jersey, he leaned on military service and blue-collar credibility. That presentation persuaded enough voters.RELATED: This is what happens when a state elects a ‘moderate’ Democrat Kendall Warner/The Virginian-Pilot/Tribune News Service via Getty ImagesThat strategy works in the short term. It doesn’t last.If and when he’s seated, Rehmet will vote as a Democrat. He will support open borders, softer law enforcement, higher spending, expanded abortion access, and the full suite of progressive social priorities. At best, he will block conservative reforms. At worst, he will push the same policies that Texans have seen wreck other places.Voters in Tarrant County will learn the hard way what “affordability” talk usually delivers under Democratic rule: higher taxes, fewer opportunities, rising crime, and sanctimonious lectures about “reproductive rights,” all while public services strain under the load. So, what does this election signal?More Democrats will copy the Rehmet template. They will present themselves as normal, moderate, and practical. They will try to bait Republicans into fighting on secondary culture-war terrain instead of hammering a concrete agenda on costs, housing, and public safety. Wambsganss fell into that trap.RELATED: Democrats are running as Bush-era Republicans — and winning Photo by Reginald Mathalone/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesIn Texas and other red states, Republicans need to meet voters where they live. Prices keep climbing, and housing tops the list. I live in this part of the state and see the pressure every day.Massive in-migration from other states (particularly California and Illinois), along with continued inflows from abroad (especially from South Asia), has driven up prices and changed the character of communities fast. Many newcomers are decent people. The economic effect still hits hard: higher rents, higher home prices, heavier traffic, and more strain on schools, roads, and emergency services. Property taxes keep rising to cover it.Republicans should say that plainly, then offer an agenda that meets the moment. They should outline feasible steps to lower costs, expand housing supply where it makes sense, reduce regulatory friction, and protect public safety. They should also draw the contrast without flailing: Democratic governance has turned too many prosperous places into expensive, dysfunctional messes. Texans don’t need to import that model.Voters in red states also need to stop falling for the same performance. Democrats haven’t changed. They’ve changed the packaging. They will do to the Lone Star State what they did to the Golden State. They will do to Dallas-Forth Worth what their allies have done to New York City. Texans should treat this moment as a warning, not a fluke: Stay alert, see through the ruse, and vote like it matters — because it does.
