The New Gold Rush — The American Border

I recently traveled to give a speech. I stayed in a hotel where a group of U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents were also staying. I spoke to several‚ mostly men‚ but a couple were female. The average person I spoke to had been with the agency for over seven years. Many people told me‚ all off the record‚ that before the Biden administration‚ they thoroughly enjoyed their job. Many were retired military members and felt that protecting the border allowed them to continue their service to the country. But now‚ several said they were “counting down the days until retirement.” They were livid at being converted‚ as more than one put it‚ into “Uber drivers” for illegal aliens. One said‚ “If the average American had any idea who what’s going on‚ if they knew who we’ve knowingly allowed into the country‚ if they knew the kinds of things some of these guys are bringing into the country -- and I don’t just mean fentanyl and other drugs -- they’d burn down the White House.” One showed me a cellphone video he had “secretly” taken depicting “migrants” coming across the border while flashing middle fingers at the agents. One agent said‚ “We give them bank cards and work permits and let them stay in hotels or schools. And right around the corner‚ there are homeless Americans who politicians could not care less about.” They praised the border state governors for putting the illegal aliens on busses and sending them to Chicago‚ New York‚ and‚ as one said‚ “My favorite‚ Martha’s Vineyard.” Democrat politicians‚ one laughingly said‚ “Talk the talk about sanctuary cities‚ but don’t walk the walk. And can you believe some Illinois politician said rich people should put them up in their homes? You first‚ dude!” “Former President Trump‚” I said‚ “brags that we had the most secure southern border in history under his administration. Is that true?” One responded‚ “I don’t know about ever‚ but I can say in all my years here -- and it’s over 10 -- it was‚ by far‚ the most secure. Trump‚ let us do our job.” What they think about Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is unprintable. As for the prospect of impeaching Mayorkas‚ they were unimpressed. “Mayorkas isn’t the problem‚” several said. “He’s just following the marching orders given by Biden. They’ll just replace him with someone just as bad or worse.” Why don’t they resign? They said‚ “If we’re not there‚ it will get worse. This is not an easy job. It takes training and experience. If you think it’s bad now‚ what do you think would happen if we walked off the job? I care too much about the country to let that happen.” What‚ I asked‚ about the estimated 8 million or so illegal aliens who entered the country since Joe Biden took over? Assuming Donald Trump comes back into office‚ will they get deported? “No‚” one said‚ “I don’t believe there is the political will for that to happen. I’ll believe it when I see it.” As for the terrorists we have allowed to come in‚ they all thought it is “just a matter of time before we have another 9/11” or “several‚” one added. “There’s a lot of stuff going on the administration does not want you to know about. There would be panic in the streets. You don’t want to know what I know. I mean‚ did you hear about the IEDs (improvised explosive devices) that Mexico seized at the border?” According to Fox Business‚ “Mexican authorities found IEDs... a Tucson supervisory border patrol agent arrested an armed person on the U.S. side who had a loaded AK-47 rifle‚ two loaded AK magazines‚ loose rounds‚ and a handgun.” I asked about Biden’s threat to use the Border Patrol to cut the razor wire put up in Eagle Pass‚ Texas‚ by the Texas National Guard. Gov. Greg Abbott wants the CBP to stop using a park there as a gathering ground for illegal entrants. Could an armed clash exist between the Texas National Guard and the Border Patrol? “Absolutely not‚” they all said. “What Biden is doing to this country has got to stop. We’re both on the same team -- team America.” Larry Elder is a bestselling author and nationally syndicated radio talk show host. Libs of TikTok Blasts Woke Disney for Going ‘All in on LGBTQ Propaganda’

Libs of TikTok creator Chaya Raichik went after Disney for pushing pride into every nook and crevice of life. Raichik highlighted a bizarre partnership between Walt Disney Corporation and Kleenex in a Feb. 4 post on X. “Disney partnered with Kleenex to go all in on LGBTQ propaganda. @Kleenex designed special LGBTQ pride tissue packaging with @Disney themed designs‚” Raichik wrote‚ before blasting Disney: “You can’t even blow your nose without having LGBTQ propaganda shoved in your face.” Chaya continued‚ “Imagine being so oppressed and marginalized that you get your own special tissues dedicated to you!”  Disney partnered with Kleenex to go all in on LGBTQ propaganda. @Kleenex designed special LGBTQ pride tissue packaging with @Disney themed designs. You can’t even blow your nose without having LGBTQ propaganda shoved in your face. Imagine being so oppressed and marginalized… pic.twitter.com/FHOOhMOxqf — Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) February 4‚ 2024 In June 2023‚ Disney partnered with Kleenex Thailand‚ which produced tissue boxes covered in Disney and pride imagery. Kleenex Thailand posted a disturbing video titled “Celebrate Pride Month with Kleenex Disney Rainbow Collection!” which included footage of drag queens and a man with a nipple piercing while highlighting a number of children.  The partnership highlighted by Raichik is far from an isolated incident. In a video that leaked in 2022‚ an executive producer at Disney bragged at a company meeting about her “not-at-all-secret gay agenda.” Disney also pushed radical gender ideology in their programming and publicly opposed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ “Parental Rights in Education Act‚” which protected children from gender ideology.  Since then‚ Disney has experienced disaster after disaster. Disney which had recently produced several billion-dollar movies‚ released many films from 2021 through 2023 that failed to meet expectations or even to make a profit. These included films from famous and wildly profitable franchises‚ such as Indiana Jones. Additionally‚ Disney’s stock price fell drastically after former Disney CEO Bob Chapek decided to oppose the “Parental Rights in Education Act” on March 8‚ 2021. That same day‚ Disney’s stock price closed at the towering height of $201.91 a share. The stock fell all the way to $82.47 a share on August 24‚ 2023‚ Disney’s worst close since Oct. 29‚ 2014. Conservatives are under attack! Contact The Walt Disney Company at TWDC.corp.communications@disney.com and demand the company stop shoving woke propaganda down the American people’s throats

THE AMAZON FILES: New Docs Expose Amazon Caving to Biden Admin Pressure to Censor Books

Explosive new evidence adds another terrifying chapter to the incestuous collusion story between President Joe Biden’s administration and Big Tech to censor free speech. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan unleashed a trove of subpoenaed documents on X (formerly Twitter) exposing the Biden admin pressuring leftist tech giant Amazon to censor books that went against government narratives. Amazon  — already notorious for how it nuked free speech platform Parler in 2021 from Amazon Web Services for allowing wrongthink to remain uncensored — was ironically disturbed by the White House pressure. “Is the [Biden] Admin asking us to remove books‚” asked one chilling email from an Amazon official. The documents actually showed Amazon capitulating to Biden’s pressure. Apparently‚ the Biden admin wasn’t content with limiting its dystopian speech control efforts to just Facebook and Twitter. Enter‚ The Amazon Files. Jordan noted that when then-senior Biden White House official Andy Slavitt was revealed to be doing his boss’s dirty work by pressuring Facebook to “censor a meme and true information‚” he “was pressuring Amazon at the same time.” In March 2021‚ said Jordan‚ “Slavitt fired off an email demanding to know who he and his White House colleagues could talk to at the company about ‘the high levels of propaganda and misinformation and disinformation of [sic] Amazon?’” MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider blasted the Biden administration following the Amazon revelations. “Here we go again. The Biden administration continues to prove that it views the Constitution as an inconvenience to be ignored when it conflicts with its political goals‚” Schneider rebuked. “Biden’s 21st century version of book burning is every bit as dangerous as the 20th century variety.” THE AMAZON FILES – “feeling pressure from the White House” Internal docs subpoenaed by @JudiciaryGOP &; @Weaponization indicate that @amazon bowed down to Biden White House pressure to censor BOOKS. 🧵 Thread: — Rep. Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) February 5‚ 2024 According to the documents shared by Jordan‚ the White House used keyword searches for items like “vaccine” and others to weed out any kind of information it didn’t like. Amazon was apparently hesitant to acquiesce to the pressure‚ but not out of any concern for free speech. “Initially‚ Amazon decided to hold off on “‘doing a manual intervention’ to censor books. Why? Not out of any commitment to free speech‚ but because doing so would be ‘too visible’ to the American public and likely to spur criticism from conservative media‚” Jordan summarized. Never-before-released internal emails subpoenaed by @JudiciaryGOP reveal that the Biden White House pressured Amazon to censor books that expressed views the White House did not approve of. “Is the [Biden] Admin asking us to remove books”? pic.twitter.com/ZsAN9BZAcX — Rep. Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) February 5‚ 2024 This backchannel communication culminated in a meeting Amazon would later have with the White House to discuss in part what the Biden administration was demanding. The purpose of the meeting‚ according to one email‚ was to see if ‘the Admin is asking us to remove books‚ or are they more concerned about search results/order (or both)?’” The meeting took place apparently due to Amazon officials “‘feeling pressure from the White House.’” The same day of the meeting on March 9‚ Amazon caved and enabled its “Do Not Promote” initiative for books that questioned the effectiveness of vaccines. One email from an Amazon official explicitly revealed the company’s commitment to remove “vaccine misinformation” while underneath the Biden administration’s thumb: “[T]he Books team has a meeting on 3/19 with [redacted to take a closer look at books related to vaccine misinformation and debating additional steps Amazon might want to take to reduce the visibility of these titles. The Books Content Risk Management team is still working on their doc for the 3/19 meeting‚ but I would be happy to share [the] non-final draft if you’re interested.”  The Censorship Industrial Complex saga continues.   Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency and an equal footing for conservatives. How to escape the surveillance state: Pick the right search engine

Editor's note: We're facing an unprecedented moment in American history. Our government and multinational tech monopolies are making it clear that we‚ the people‚ are the target of the monstrous surveillance state they've constructed. The deep state is attempting to jail people who share memes‚ Blaze Media journalists‚ and even the leading presidential candidate. It's time we take back control over our privacy and digital communications‚ and this guide will provide you with the tools to do that. This is an excerpt from a larger guide. Install a trustworthy browser and use a search engine that respects privacy Google and other services like Yahoo track your searches and online activity and collect data about you that they sell to advertisers. They do this both through the browser and the search engine. Google is not alone in tracking you‚ but it is the most widely used service for search and internet browsers. Browser A browser is the tool that you use to access the internet and visit different websites. The search engine is the program/system you use to search the internet to find what you are looking for. Some examples of common browsers are Chrome‚ Safari‚ Firefox‚ Microsoft Edge‚ Brave‚ and so on. Common search engines include Google‚ Yahoo‚ Bing‚ DuckDuckGo‚ and Baidu. Because the browser is the thing that takes you to different places on the internet‚ it knows where you go and what you do. It can use that information and sell it to others. Your search engine records everything you search for‚ which it can use or sell. It is important that both your browser and your search engine respect your privacy. There is no perfect solution‚ but the browser I use and recommend is Brave. The Brave browser was founded by famous technologist Brendan Eich. Eich is the inventor of the programming language JavaScript‚ which along with HTML is one of the programming languages that the web runs on. He was the co-founder of Mozilla‚ which made the Firefox browser. Eich launched the Brave browser in 2016 as well as an associated cryptocurrency‚ Basic Attention Token. Brave was founded to focus on privacy. While there are no guarantees‚ Brave claims that it does not keep a record of your online activity. It has built-in blockers against invasive ads‚ tracking‚ phishing‚ and more. This helps keep your information private and saves on battery and data usage. Brave also uses a crypto token called Brave Rewards‚ which allows for opt-in advertising and shared revenue. You can read a comparison of Chrome and Brave here. Also remember to keep your browser updated. That helps with security. Search engines I’ve used Brave for my browser and DuckDuckGo for my search engine for several years‚ and they both work well. DuckDuckGo was founded with the promise of privacy and no tracking. You can make it your default search and get a browser extension for Brave. There are times when the results are not as good as Google. But sometimes they are better. DuckDuckGo’s value is that it doesn’t track you or sell your search data. I obviously cannot guarantee this‚ and some have expressed worries about this. But DuckDuckGo claims its model is grounded in privacy‚ and the DuckDuckGo blog has a lot of good information on privacy and how to be more secure‚ including a Crash Course on Privacy that is worth reading. Whatever you do‚ as much as possible‚ stay away from browsers and search engines that are tracking everything you do. Swisscows is also focused on privacy‚ and the search engine blocks pornography. Covenant Eyes is not a search engine‚ but it is another option for blocking pornography. You can sign up for the service and use it on several computers and phones. It enables you to create accountability and helps keep your children away from pornography. Limitations Brave browser: I use an online service called Zencastr to record my podcast interviews. For a while Zencastr did not work on the Brave browser and only worked on Chrome. When something like that happens‚ I do this: I have downloaded a Chrome browser that I open and use for Zencastr or any other service that requires it. Then I shut it down and go back to Brave and DuckDuckGo or Swisscows for my regular internet use. Private search Some of you may have noticed it is possible to do a private search on several browsers‚ but those aren’t necessarily private‚ and they can still track your activity. Brave has a private search function that uses TOR‚ but the company is quite clear that you can still be tracked as well.

'Made in America' country music legend Toby Keith dead at 62

Country music legend Toby Keith died Monday night after a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. A message posted to the "Should've Been a Cowboy" singer's social media page noted that he died surround by his family. "He fought his fight with grace and courage‚" continued the message. "Please respect the privacy of his family at this time." The Oklahoma native‚ born in Clinton on July 8‚ 1961‚ announced in June 2022 that he had cancer and that he had been undergoing chemotherapy for several months. — (@) Prior to his receipt of the Country Icon Award at the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards in September 2023‚ the derrickhand's son told Fox News Digital‚ "I lean on my faith‚ and I just pray." "You gotta do what you gotta do‚ and I don't know how people do it without faith. ... That's that what I did‚" added Keith. The singer underscored that throughout his battle with cancer‚ faith "was [his] rock." Upon receiving the Country Icon Award‚ Keith singled out his Creator‚ saying‚ "I want to thank the Almighty for allowing me to be here tonight. He's been riding shotgun with me for a little while." — (@) Keith sold over 40 million records worldwide and had over 60 singles reach the country charts; 42 top-10 hits; and at least 20 singles at number one in the charts — including "Who's Your Daddy?‚" "My List‚" "How Do You Like me Now?!‚" "As Good as I Once Was‚" "Beer for My Horses‚" and "Made in America." According to his website‚ his music also netted over 10 billion streams. The New York Times indicated Keith was already in his 30s when he signed his first record deal in 1993. He previously worked as a semi-pro football player with the Oklahoma City Drillers‚ a rodeo hand‚ and a roughneck in the Oklahoma oil fields. He told Dan Rather on "The Big Interview" in 2018 that when "Should've Been a Cowboy" became his first No. 1 country single in 1993‚ he was performing "28‚ 29 shows a month because I didn't know I was going to get a second hit." "At the time I was just trying to outwork everybody‚" he added. Keith was an unapologetic patriot even when his love of country prickled others in the music industry. The Times noted that Keith's No. 1 country single "Courtesy of the Red‚ White and Blue (The Angry American)" — a heartfelt response to the death of his father‚ a disabled veteran‚ and the 9/11 Islamic terror attacks on the U.S. — upset others with its nationalist flare. Keith later noted‚ "I don't apologize for being patriotic." In addition to going on 11 USO tours visiting American troops overseas‚ the Associated Press indicated Keith raised millions of dollars for various charities over the course of his career and built the OK Kids Korral in Oklahoma City — a cost-free home for children fighting cancer. Keith is survived by Tricia Keith‚ his wife of 39 years; his three children; his brother‚ mother‚ and sister; and four grandchildren. Like Blaze News? Align interview: American Giant's Bayard Winthrop

American Giant launched in 2011 with a plan as focused as it was ambitious: to create the greatest hooded sweatshirt known to man — and to do so entirely in the USA‚ from growing the cotton to final cutting and sewing. Almost a decade and a half later‚ founder Bayard Winthrop's bet seems to have paid off‚ if glowing reviews like "I've been wearing this hoodie to work for ten years" are any indication. With success has come expansion; the San Francisco-based apparel maker now offers everything from polos and jeans to outerwear and socks. But for Winthrop the mission to revitalize American manufacturing has always been bigger than one company. As the downsides of globalization become increasingly apparent‚ Winthrop's message has found receptive listeners on both sides of the partisan divide. Among them is United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai‚ who last March sent two senior advisers to tour American Giant's supply chain in the Carolinas. Winthrop recently spoke with Align to discuss competition with China‚ the need for manufacturing jobs‚ and the wisdom of the American people. (This interview has been edited and condensed for brevity and clarity.) On why the customer isn't always right It's not a question of: Is globalization going to continue? It is. But what form is it going to take? Our competitors are asking this. China‚ for example‚ has said quite clearly‚ look‚ the making of things is going to be very core to our policy. And so we're going to have a relatively protectionist system that allows us to make things really‚ really well. We're going to protect that ability because we believe it's a competitive advantage‚ and we think it's important to our communities that people have work. The U.S. has done the opposite of that. The U.S. has said that's not really important. What's important is that we have really‚ really cheap stuff that we can buy. When you put production‚ the making of things‚ at the center of policy‚ in my judgment‚ really good things begin to accrue. We have put at the very center of our economic and trade policy a neoliberal worldview that says everything ought to be in service of consumption. In other words‚ we ought to conduct trade policy in a way that puts as its highest objective ensuring that consumers have more and more choice at cheaper and cheaper prices. Maybe I'm being naive about this‚ but I think in its original form‚ this kind of neoliberal view was pretty widely shared. It was as much Bush as it was Clinton. There was a bet early on that if we do this‚ not only will it benefit the consumer‚ but we'll open up markets in places like China and bring those people into the first world order. And they're gonna become trading partners of ours and strategic partners of ours and no longer foes. I think that bet was one of the worst bets of the last 40 years of U.S. foreign policy. China today is a much more intractable foe than it was 40 years ago and is clearly not aligned with our foreign policy objectives. But I think the bet came from a genuine place. I think the people who were advancing that policy genuinely thought they were doing the right thing. On putting production first I am a supporter of increasingly protectionist‚ production-focused industrial policy. I think it's important for a whole host of reasons. I think it's important from a national defense perspective‚ I think it's important from an economic perspective‚ all these things. When you put production‚ the making of things‚ at the center of policy‚ in my judgment‚ really good things begin to accrue. You have minimum wage pay that grows; you've got jobs that move back into communities that really need them. You've got an alignment with our values‚ with the production of the goods that we're consuming‚ all these things. And the other thing that I think is overlooked is that you'll begin to reignite innovation and automation and investment. Because if you're operating within the constraints of the U.S. you'll realize pretty quickly that it's more expensive. So how do we figure out ways to innovate to make ourselves more competitive? An unintended consequence of offshoring in the textile industry it that it's really retarded investment in innovation and automation. On the need for good‚ dignified jobs It's not enough for me to sit on my porch in San Francisco and say that the solution to the country's ills is to train a bunch of people living in South Carolina how to become engineers or Google coders. That is a bullsh**t response for people who want to feel good but are not paying attention. And the reality is that we've got to reconcile and confront the fact that we need to create good‚ viable‚ dignified work throughout the economic spectrum‚ throughout the skill level‚ throughout the educational level. That way‚ we'll create an incredibly dynamic‚ vital‚ vibrant ecosystem economy‚ we'll heal communities‚ we'll bring people together‚ we'll have people working in common cause. You go to work every day and you meet a bunch of people‚ some of whom you agree with and many of whom you don't‚ and you figure out a way to work together. And you get lunch together and have a coffee together. You're going to vote for so-and-so and she's going to vote for such-and-such‚ but it doesn't ruin the world for you; you just go on with your day. And the more that we undermine that stuff and rip that out‚ the less we're going to have a stable middle class. And our industrial policy‚ manufacturing policy‚ and economic policy are not addressing that to the extent that they should. To me it's damn close to a crisis. if you ask people in the manufacturing sector‚ "Are you a fan of free trade?" what they'll say is "Define free trade." On holding trade partners accountable A bunch of people who shop at Walmart today can go get a flat-screen TV for $99. That's a good thing. The problem‚ though‚ is that when you put that as the objective‚ every other decision gets sacrificed at that altar. We hold a bunch of values to be absolutely important. We want to protect minorities‚ we want to protect the environment‚ we want to make sure that working conditions are safe‚ we want to make sure that you can earn a living wage. We feel so strongly about these things that we're going to hold all of our businesses to that standard‚ appropriately so. And then in the same breath‚ we're going to say that the people we trade with are going to have no standards‚ essentially. So we're going to ask you to compete with people who have none of those burdens and none of the attached costs. That's crazy. And so if you ask people in the manufacturing sector‚ "Are you a fan of free trade?" what they'll say is "Define free trade." On friendshoring‚ not offshoring Janet Yellen has a term that she's been using that she refers to as "friendshoring‚" and I think there's a stimulating idea in there. As I understand it‚ it's that we should trade with countries that share our values. And so define those values. That may be a free press‚ free and fair elections‚ paying people a living wage‚ some basic environmental standards. And if you do those things‚ we will open up the greatest marketplace in the world to your businesses. Let's pick some countries like South Korea. You're a good partner. You respect the environment. You've got safe working conditions. We will open up the U.S. markets to you. If you're North Korea‚ or if you're China using forced labor in Xinjiang and you're sterilizing women‚ I'm sorry‚ we're not gonna trade with you. American Gianr On taking a long-term view The problem is today we've reached a point where the consumer expects to get a T-shirt for four bucks from Shein. And I'm going to say‚ "No. It costs $12. It's going to be a little better quality and it's going to be aligned with your values." And she's going to say‚ "Yeah‚ I'm not doing that. I want the $4 T-shirt." And everybody always defaults to assuming the consumer won't buy a $12 T-shirt. Well‚ sure. But you do this all the time with environmental standards‚ with fuel efficiency standards for your cars‚ with your appliances at home‚ where you say we're going to ratchet up over time. Whether you agree or disagree with it‚ [environmental policy] takes a long-term view. It says we've got to figure out a way to ratchet up fuel efficiency standards over time. I may disagree with it‚ I may agree with it‚ but here I am driving a car today that's quite different from the car that my mom was driving in 1980‚ right? So we'll do the same with trade. We're gradually going to require that the countries that we trade with adhere to some basic standards that over time‚ call it a decade‚ are going to ratchet up the cost. You just have to have a similar‚ long-term view‚ much like China. Don't just think about this election cycle; think about where we need to be 20 years from now. On having faith in America If you live in Los Angeles or San Francisco and you have a college degree‚ and you're a reporter‚ or an entrepreneur‚ or you work in PR‚ you are fine. If you have money in the stock market‚ you're fine. In fact‚ you're better than fine. But if you're not in one of those cities with a four-year degree‚ you are screwed. The likelihood of you passing on a better life to your kids is low. And we either can confront that and say‚ "That movie ends badly for us‚" or not. Every person I talk to‚ whether it's someone on the right or someone on the left‚ when you have this conversation‚ every one of them says‚ "Yeah‚ this is wrong. We've got to fix this." Everybody gets it. And people are translating that into the way they vote. You've had the Trump administration with [U.S. Trade Representative] Bob Lighthizer saying this. And now you've got Trade Representative Tai saying the same thing [for the Biden administration]. I think you can edge the consumer in a direction toward protecting industries that allow for thriving rural communities. If you and I had bounced through South Carolina in a car in the 1980s‚ you would have gone into town after town after town that had thriving industries‚ and there'd be a lot of different small businesses — hardware stores‚ grocery stores. You go through there today‚ it's devastation. Town after town after town after town. And I would argue that so much of the social strife you see today traces its roots to that. We don't really even think about wisdom any more. It's just credentials and degrees. And I have a deep faith in the wisdom of the average American to begin to call bulls**t on stuff like this. And so that's why I'm hopeful. I talk to my kids about Thomas Paine all the time. This idea that the average American out there figures this stuff out better than kings and dictators do — there's a lot of truth to that.

Biden's anecdote about recent conversation with long-dead Frenchman feeds concern about his decrepitude

President Joe Biden managed to get a country‚ a name‚ and an era wrong all in one anecdote during a campaign event Sunday in Las Vegas‚ renewing concerns about his glaring decrepitude. Speaking to a crowd of hospitality workers at the Pearson Community Center‚ Biden attempted to bring a rambling speech to a close with a denunciation of "MAGA Republicans‚" the suggestion that a failure to choose him in the general election might mean democracy's demise‚ and a personal anecdote. "Look‚ Trump and his MAGA friends are dividing us‚ not uniting us; dragging us back to the past‚ not leading us to the future‚" said the 81-year-old Democrat. After framing Republicans as the remaining obstacle to a brave new world‚ Biden dragged his audience back to an uncertain past‚ noting‚ "You know‚ right‚ right‚ right after I was elected‚ I went to what they call a G7 meeting. All the NATO leaders. And it was in — it was in the south of England. And I sat down and I said‚ 'America is back.'" The 47th G7 Summit in Cornwall‚ England‚ was held just months before Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. "And Mitterrand‚ from Germany — I mean‚ from France‚ looked at me and said — said‚ 'You know‚ what — why — how long you back for?'" continued Biden‚ prompting nervous laughter from the audience. "And I looked at him‚ and the — and the chancellor of Germany said‚ 'What would you say‚ Mr. President‚ if you picked up the paper tomorrow in the London Times‚ and London Times said‚ 'A thousand people break through the House of Commons‚ break down the doors‚ two bobbies are killed in order to stop the election of the prime minister. What would you say?'" said Biden. Biden added‚ "And I never thought about it from that perspective. What would we say that happened in another democracy around the world? Well‚ the whole world watched — the whole world watched. And what's going on?" The major issue with Biden's story was not that he misstated‚ corrected‚ then once again misstated François Mitterrand's nationality. The issue is that Mitterrand has been dead for 28 years. Mitterrand was president of France‚ not the chancellor of Germany‚ from 1981 to 1995. He died on Jan. 8‚ 1996. The White House indicated in the transcript for Biden's speech that by "Mitterrand‚" the geriatric president actually meant to say "Macron‚" as in Emmanuel Macron‚ the current president of France. Biden tells crowd he recently met with Mitterrand‚ former French president who died in 1996.\n\n"Right after I was elected I went to a G7 meeting. I sat down and said‚ 'America is back!' and Mitterand from Germany -- I mean France‚ looked at me and said‚ 'how long you back for?'" — (@) Macron's is hardly the first name Biden has confused in recent years. Prior to his election in 2020‚ Biden mistook his sister for his wife. On multiple occasions since‚ he has confused the names of various nations. In one instance last year‚ he confused Ukraine and Iraq twice in 24 hours. Even when the right name is on his tongue‚ Biden often has trouble getting it out. Within minutes of announcing a $40 billion investment in the Pacific Islands Infrastructure Initiative‚ which in fact was a $40 million dollar investment‚ Biden attempted in a September speech to tell the crowd what his team calls the initiative. "We call it the PG‚ PI — anyway‚" said Biden‚ giving up on the remaining letters in the acronym. "It doesn't matter what we call it‚ but that's what it is." Mitterrand is also not the first dead person Biden has apparently spoken to. One month after eulogizing Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski‚ who died in 2022‚ Biden called out to her during a speech in Washington‚ saying‚ "Representative Jackie — are you here? Where's Jackie? — I think she was going to be here." Biden has also repeatedly told the apocryphal story of his conversation with an Amtrak conductor named Angelo Negri — a conversation that apparently took place a year after Negri died and over 20 years after the conductor's retirement. Following Biden's latest blunder in Vegas‚ critics online questioned the president's remaining faculties. Graham Allen of the "Dear America" podcast wrote‚ "This is not a healthy sign." Another user on X wrote‚ "This is what perfectly healthy people do everybody‚ nothing to see here!" The latest NBC News poll shows that 76% of voters‚ including a great many Democrats‚ are deeply concerned over Biden's age. After all‚ in addition to flubbing names‚ repeating himself‚ tripping over nothing‚ and relying on cue cards for instructions on how to execute basic functions‚ he continues to pad his record of days spent on vacation. Biden‚ whose disapproval rating cracked 60% late last month‚ would be 86 at the end of his second term if granted one by voters. Like Blaze News? Akko MOD007B Tokyo review – A hidden gem for gaming

The Akko MOD007B Tokyo is a stunning gaming keyboard to look at‚ thanks to its combination of a compact 75% layout and charming Tokyo-themed design. However‚  behind the Tokyo landscape‚ there’s also an impressive gaming experience that means it’s mostly worth the $150 price tag on both performance and style. Along with its reliable typing experience and irresistible style‚ the Akko MOD007B also has the features and gaming performance chops to make it one of the best gaming keyboards I’ve used in recent years. I wrote the Akko MOD007B off as a vanity product‚ something that would look great on your desktop‚ but without the performance to match its style‚ but that’s not the case. Plus‚ if you’re not a fan of the Tokyo theme‚ it’s also available in a blue Santorini theme while the wider MOD007 range comes in a wide variety of other styles.
