Blaze journalist Steve Baker appears on Tim Pool's podcast‚ talks looming threat charges for Jan. 6 coverage

During an appearance on Tim Pool's "Timcast IRL" podcast‚ Blaze Media journalist Steve Baker spoke about the looming threat he faces of being charged in connection with his journalistic work covering the January 6‚ 2021‚ episode at the U.S. Capitol.Baker discussed the bizarre saga and the state of limbo he is currently forced to live in as he waits to learn when he may have to surrender himself to authorities.Last month‚ as Blaze News previously reported‚ Baker learned he would have to self-surrender‚ but then‚ that was postponed.Baker noted on "Timcast" that his lead attorney was informed that the self-surrender would be pushed back until sometime in mid-January and that seven to 10 days of notice would be provided before Baker would need to present himself. Baker's attorney asked what the charges will be but was not told. But although it is now nearly the end of January‚ Baker told Pool that he has not heard anything new yet.Baker said that the "main reason" he's not behind bars yet is the work being done with Blaze Media. NewsBusters Podcast: Top Newspapers Worry as Biden Slips with Black Voters

The front pages of Monday's New York Times and Washington Post both expressed alarm at President Biden's slippage with black voters‚ the most reliable Democrat voting bloc. The Times channeled "black faith leaders" who are demanding Israel submit to a ceasefire in Gaza‚ including some well-known Louis Farrakhan fans‚ including Barack Obama's infamous pastor‚ Rev. Jeremiah Wright‚ the one who spoke positively about 9/11. The headline was “Black Pastors Pressing Biden on Cease-fire.” “This is not a fringe issue‚” said the Rev. Michael McBride‚ a founder of Black Church PAC and the lead pastor of the Way church in Berkeley told the Times. It's not for the fringe? Among the advisory board of Black Church PAC is Rev. Wright‚ his Chicago friend Fr. Michael Pfleger‚ and Dr. Ron Daniels‚ who called Farrakhan a "jewel."  Reporter Maya King even highlighted Rev. Frederick Haynes‚ the current leader of the Jesse Jackson-founded group Operation PUSH‚ who called Biden's support for Israel "a stain‚ a scar on the soul of America." Rev. Cynthia Hale sides with the Palestinians: “We see them as part of us. They are oppressed people. We are oppressed people.”  The Washington Post story was headlined "Analysts warn many Black voters growing weary of Biden.” Reporter Michael Brice-Saddler reported from Michigan‚ outside Detroit. The first subject is Pontiac resident Bryan Killian-Bey‚ who says “Democrat canvassers show up around election time vowing to improve conditions for him and his neighbors‚ but it never happens.” He’s torn between voting for Biden and not voting at all. The Post added: "The Biden-Harris campaign and Democratic leaders have taken notice of the sinking enthusiasm among Black voters‚ particularly after a 10 percentage-point decline in Black voter turnout in the 2022 midterms compared with 2018." ABC‚ CBS Omit Sentencing Of IRS Contractor Who Stole Trump‚ Bezos‚ Musk Tax Records

Today in federal court‚ the source of a major story involving stolen tax information was sentenced to a five-year prison term. Given how the story was covered‚ you’d expect at least minimal coverage across the major evening newscasts. But‚ alas‚ this wasn’t the case across the board. In fact‚ NBC was the sole network to cover the story. Here’s that report in its entirety‚ as aired on NBC Nightly News on Monday‚ January 29th‚ 2024: TOM LLAMAS: In Washington today‚ a former IRS contractor who leaked tax records of former President Trump and others was sentenced to five years in prison. When Charles Littlejohn pleaded guilty in October‚ federal prosecutors say he weaponized his access to taxpayer data to further his own political agenda‚ believing he was above the law.  All of 19 seconds- which is a heck of a lot less than the story got when it was initially broken. But paltry as they may have seemed‚ these 19 seconds were 19 seconds more than aired on ABC and CBS- which could afford those 19 seconds lest it cut into their Taylor Swift Super Bowl extravaganza. Actually‚ the question of whether Swift could exit her Tokyo concert with enough time to make the Super Bowl drew‚ in and of itself‚ more than 19 seconds on ABC and CBS. Needless to say‚ NBC’s story was puny‚ with great care to mention as little as possible of a very inconvenient story. Notice Tom Llamas’ use of the term “leaked” in lieu of “stolen”‚ which suggests a story on public urination more so than one on identity theft in service of a political agenda.  Notice the mention of Trump and “the others”. Who are the others‚ you say? Elon Musk‚ Jeff Bezos‚ Warren Buffet among others. There is no mention of what the judge said at sentencing. From NBC News dot com: (Judge Ana) Reyes compared Littlejohn’s actions to other recent attacks and threats against elected officials as well as to Jan. 6 defendants she has recently sentenced. She described his actions as a deliberate‚ complex‚ multiyear criminal scheme‚ but said she believed he “sincerely felt a moral imperative” to act as he did. Judge Reyes‚ a Biden appointee‚ thought the tax information theft was comparable to January 6th! In other words‚ a literal attack on Democracy!  Finally‚ there is no mention of the outlets that broke the stories‚ The New York Times and ProPublica. Littlejohn is stranded on an island even as the corrupt institutions he served are protected.  And that’s why the story got scant coverage‚ if any at all. The story is one of the weaponization of institutions against individuals‚ for political purposes. And that is just too inconvenient.  Partial credit‚ I guess‚ to NBC for those scant 19 seconds.

Attorney General Merrick Garland to undergo surgery

Attorney General Merrick Garland is slated to have a "minimally invasive back procedure" on Saturday that will involve receiving anesthesia‚ Justice Department spokesperson Xochitl Hinojosa indicated in a statement‚ according to Politico. The procedure is meant to tackle spinal stenosis. "The procedure requires general anesthesia and will last about 90 minutes. The Attorney General is likely to go home the same day‚" Hinjosa noted‚ according to the outlet.Garland's authority will be temporarily granted to Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco."The delegation of his duties will go to the Deputy Attorney General shortly before the procedure‚ during the procedure‚ and for a brief period following the procedure to allow for recovery from general anesthesia‚" Hinojosa noted‚ according to NBC News. Garland "will return to work the week of February 5th‚" Hinjosa reportedly indicated."Spinal stenosis happens when the space inside the backbone is too small. This can put pressure on the spinal cord and nerves that travel through the spine‚" according to mayoclinic.org. "Surgery can create more space inside the spine. This can ease the symptoms caused by pressure on the spinal cord or nerves."Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on January 1 due to complications pertaining to a December surgery for prostate cancer."Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III returned to work at the Pentagon today‚" a Pentagon press release noted on Monday. "The Secretary has been conducting his duties from home since his release from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Jan. 15‚ 2024."Like Blaze News?
