The Washington Post, among the myriad of news outlets that have not asked a single question of Vice President Kamala Harris since she was anointed the Democratic presidential nominee, criticized Elon Musk’s interview with former President Donald Trump on X, carping that Musk asked “softball questions.” According to X, the interview and the discussion that revolved around it generated nearly 1 billion views. The Post, which commonly repeats Democratic talking points, titled their piece, “Trump returns to X with technical glitches, softball questions from Musk.” Musk explained the technical glitches before the interview got going, stating, “There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on X. Working on shutting it down. Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later.” The Post, however, framed the glitches as an “embarrassment” for Musk and Trump, opining: “It was the latest mishap for the Republican nominee as he has sought to regain his footing amid a surge in Democratic enthusiasm for his new rival, Vice President Kamala Harris. … The joint appearance was also a high-profile embarrassment for Musk’s X, which has faced numerous outages since the entrepreneur’s takeover and suffered from a server meltdown during a presidential campaign launch last year.” The Post insisted that Musk “focused on comfortable topics for Trump, such as undocumented immigration.” However, according to a February 2024 report from Gallup, immigration has become a priority issue for Americans under the Biden-Harris regime. “Significantly more Americans name immigration as the most important problem facing the U.S. (28%) than did a month ago (20%),” Gallup explained. “Immigration has now passed the government as the most often cited problem, after the two issues tied for the top position the past two months.” In April, the Center for Immigration Studies published a piece titled, “Polls Show 2024 Is Shaping Up to be An ‘Immigration’ Election.” They added, “Fox News and Harvard/Harris each just released their latest polls, and they reveal immigration is shaping up to be the main issue in the 2024 election.” The European Union sent a warning to Musk ahead of the interview, saying he should take steps to address “the amplification of harmful content,” or he could face action to “protect E.U. citizens from serious harm.” X CEO Linda Yaccarino fired back that the EU “patronizes” European citizens and was an “unprecedented attempt to stretch a law intended to apply in Europe to political activities in the US.” Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss blasted, “I am appalled by the attacks on free speech in Britain and Europe. Monday night’s X-Spaces conversation between Elon Musk and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump began with technical glitches that supporters said “broke the internet,” but following the discussion, Musk posted that views of the event and subsequent discussions by X accounts numbered around 1 billion, far surpassing any previous record. The legacy media would have people believe that the discussion was a total bust, but that stands in stark contrast to what many audience members are saying about the unscripted conversation between two of the most famous men in the world. “Listening to @elonmusk & @realDonaldTrump chat about trains just now was surprisingly fascinating. Love this @XSpaces conversation.. it’s like two mates chewing the fat about the world’s problems. People who hate them will hate it, but everyone else will learn a lot from it,” British TV host Piers Morgan said of the interview. “Long for[m] conversations like this is the way forward and should become mandatory in any political campaign,” a reaction to Morgan’s tweet said, echoing what many others were saying about Democratic nominee Kamala Harris avoiding interviews since her candidacy was announced.  WATCH THE TRAILER FOR ‘AM I RACIST?’ — A MATT WALSH COMEDY ON DEI Trump also mentioned the Dems’ refusal to do extended interviews, saying at one point during the Spaces conversation, “By the way, you think Biden could do this interview? Do you think that Kamala could do this interview?” “No, they could not,” Musk replied. “It’s pretty sad when you think that somebody that does this for a living can’t answer a question or is afraid to do an interview,” Trump said. Ben Shapiro, Editor Emeritus at The Daily Wire, expressed similar sentiments. “Kamala simply could not do a two-hour running interview without seriously harming herself. Everyone knows it. She won’t even talk to Time magazine while they write puff pieces for their cover.” Musk also posted that he was “happy to host Kamala on an X Spaces too.”  “[T]his interview is good,” Fox News host Greg Gutfeld shared on X. “But the bigger story is that two of the most important world figures agree on the world.  Whats (sic) that tell you? The most consequential technical genius perhaps ever and the most consequential political figure are talking about stuff on equal footing, and Trump knows everything Musk is talking about concerning energy, artificial intelligence and economic development.” Gutfeld added, “[N]o politician could energetically engage on future problems like this.  Most would need a staff of ten doing packets of research for each topic and still the politician will have no idea what to think.” Actor James Woods also weighed in. “Listening to two pragmatic visionaries chat about the future of the nation devoid of Democrat Party shenanigans is so inspiring. I swear, Trump and Musk could clean up the Harris-Biden fiasco in a day,” he tweeted. Fox News contributor and radio show host Tony Katz shared another observation about Musk and Trump’s lengthy chat last night. “Most fascinating part of that conversation was the ending. Trump admitting he didn’t hire the best people at first, that he learned as he went along,” he said. “Rare admission from Trump. A touch of humility. Was good to see.”

An unlawfully present migrant man is accused of raping a woman at knifepoint in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn while another beat her boyfriend with a metal pipe, the NYPD said. David Davon-Bonilla, 24, from Nicaragua, allegedly approached a 46-year-old homeless woman around 9 pm on Sunday near the Coney Island boardwalk. Bonilla is said to have offered her food and coffee in exchange for sex, and when she refused, he grabbed her, threw her to the ground, and raped her while holding a knife to her throat. Meanwhile, his companion, Leovando Moreno, 37, from Mexico, attacked the woman’s 34-year-old boyfriend with a metal pipe as he tried to save her, police said. Bonilla was reportedly charged with first-degree rape, second-degree assault, first-degree sexual abuse, and menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. Bonilla entered the U.S. illegally through Eagle Pass, Texas, in December 2022, Department of Homeland Security sources told the New York Post. He previously lived at a La Quinta Hotel in Brooklyn that had been turned into a migrant shelter. In April of last year, just four months after crossing into the country illegally, Bonilla was accused of raping and sodomizing a 34-year-old woman at the La Quinta, allegedly pulling her hair and holding her down as he assaulted her. He was charged with sexual abuse and unlawful imprisonment, among other charges. He pled guilty in that case. It is not clear why he remained in the U.S. after the first attack. The other migrant, Moreno, was also arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Sunday’s attack happened outside a hotel housing migrants in a dangerous area of the Coney Island boardwalk. The walkway is poorly lit, and homeless people and migrants camp in the area under the walkway, which is littered with drug paraphernalia and alcohol cans. In New York City and across the country, alleged migrant crimes, including brutal sexual assaults, hit the headlines every few weeks. The same month, a migrant from Turkey was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in Albany. Under the Biden administration, at least 12 million migrants have entered the country illegally. There have been more than 9.5 million migrant encounters as well as about 1.7 million illegal migrant gotaways, according to immigration authorities. New York City has seen an influx of more than 180,000 illegal migrants over the past two years and is still housing many of them. Vice President Kamala Harris, now the Democratic nominee for president, was tapped to deal with the border crisis, but she has been widely criticized for failing to find a solution. Since then, the legacy media has backtracked on calling Harris the “border czar.” Harris has yet to sit down for a long-form interview on immigration or any other issue since Biden dropped out of the race.

As families shake out the last grains of sand from their kids’ shoes while their children bounce off the walls claiming to be “bored,” parents can now glimpse the upcoming joy of routine schedules, carpool lines, and after-school event coordination. It’s back-to-school time. Of course, parents aren’t the only ones gearing up for school. So are teachers and school administrators, many of whom will make an enormous difference for the kids they love and educate this year. But as anyone paying attention knows, some officials care more about pushing harmful ideology than providing education. And governments across our country are backing these efforts with the force of law by pushing gender ideology on parents and children. Take California’s recently signed “SAFETY Act.” This misnamed law forbids schools from requiring staff to discuss a child’s gender dysphoria with parents unless the child gives permission. The law targeted several California districts that recently created good parental notification policies—essentially declaring those policies unlawful. Just think. For children struggling to understand and develop, this law effectively endorses hiding vital information from parents about their own kids. And this isn’t an isolated policy. Alliance Defending Freedom, where I serve as vice president of litigation strategy, is litigating a number of cases where parents have discovered that it is school policy to “socially transition” children without parental consent. In one instance, a mother sought to help her daughter work through her struggles without a “social transition,” and her daughter grew more comfortable with her body — but only after she withdrew her daughter from school after the district insisted that staff refer to the young woman as a male. Of course, the Biden-Harris administration isn’t satisfied to leave the issue to the states, as it passed a rule to redefine “sex” in Title IX to include “gender identity.” In one of five lawsuits filed by ADF against this rule change, an 11-year-old girl found a boy in the school restroom and was so scarred by the experience that she only felt safe by waiting until getting home to use the restroom—which could take nearly nine hours. This is the reality facing girls in restrooms, locker rooms, and hotel rooms on overnight trips if the rule change stands. Meanwhile, in the medical sphere, government officials are pushing this ideology harder than ever. Recent emails became public exposing that Rachel Levine—the head of the Biden-Harris administration’s Health and Human Services department — pressured medical groups to remove age limits on dangerous and even sterilizing surgeries trying to alter children’s bodies to make them look like the opposite sex. The FDA’s clinical team leader at the Division of General Endocrinology Products has recommended the FDA approve of puberty blockers for teens despite knowing of an “increase in depression and suicidality” linked to the drugs. Not willing to stop there, the Biden-Harris administration also adopted a rule change to Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act that attempts to redefine “sex” in federal law to include “gender identity.” That change would force doctors to perform these harmful, sterilizing procedures and would require States and insurers to foot the bill. ADF has already filed three different lawsuits to maintain sound health practices and common sense in federal law. So far, the courts have issued a nationwide pause on enforcement as the lawsuits proceed. Joining the federal government are over 20 states and roughly 100 cities and counties that have banned efforts to counsel kids who want help to grow comfortable with their bodies. While many of these states allow doctors to inflict life-altering surgeries and drugs on children, and allow counselors to push these procedures on kids and parents, these states simultaneously ban counselors from talking with and helping minors who want to grow comfortable with their bodies. And that is true even though respected authorities continuously find that pre-pubertal children who express confusion naturally grow out of their dysphoria as they mature, as long as no one interferes with the natural process of puberty. Indeed, counseling is a far more effective and safer treatment for these kids than running to the surgeon. Ironically, while the Biden-Harris administration and their many allies rush full-steam ahead on trying to convince children they have the wrong body, the rest of the world has already put the brakes on. Nations like Finland, Sweden, and Norway, for example, are heavily restricting these procedures that fall under the “gender identity” umbrella. In England, a lawsuit involving Keira Bell and her ideologically-infused rush into cross-sex procedures led to the National Health Institute closing its gender clinic, followed by an independent review by Dr. Hilary Cass. The Cass review concluded that medical advice rushing kids into these procedures is marked by “remarkably weak evidence.” England then banned puberty blockers for minors outside clinical trials, which was quickly upheld by an English court. If the tide has turned internationally, what’s being done to push back against the ideologues here in our country? A lot. Twenty-six states have now banned at least some of these dangerous procedures trying to alter children’s bodies, with New Hampshire being the latest. The Texas Supreme Court upheld one of these laws recently, agreeing with two federal appellate courts that had already done so. Eyes now turn to the U.S. Supreme Court, which recently agreed to hear a case out of Tennessee that could set national precedent. The stakes are dangerously high for America’s parents and children. It’s getting harder to find school officials and medical professionals who will give children the best possible care rather than push harmful ideology.
