Iranian Women Hold Babies Aloft as Symbolic Sacrifice in Ritual While Chanting ‘Death to America, Death to Israel’

Hundreds of Iranian mothers lifted their babies above their heads in a symbolic act of sacrifice during the annual Hosseini Infants Ceremony in Tehran on Friday.   The ceremony, with similar celebrations held across Iran on June 27, takes place on the first Friday of the Islamic month of Muharram and commemorates the death of Shia Islam leader Husayn ibn Ali’s six-month-old son in 680 A.D.   The large crowd of women holding their babies chanted “death to America” and “death to Israel,” during the event, according to CNN’s Frederik Pleitgen, who reported from the gathering in Tehran.   Israel and America “need to know that Imam Hussain is our everything, and we should sacrifice our lives for Imam Hussain,” a mother holding her baby told CNN.   Husayn ibn Ali, often referred to as Imam Hussain, was the grandson of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad. During the battle of Battle of Karbala in 680 A.D., it is said Husayn ibn Ali and his fellow fighters were cut off from the Euphrates River—their only water source. Husayn ibn Ali held up his infant son to the enemy in a plea for water for his child, but the enemy is said to have killed the child instead.   The act of the mothers holding their babies up in the air during the Hosseini Infants Ceremony is said to be a symbolic act that they are willing to offer the lives of their children for the sake of God and Imam Hussain. ?BREAKING: HUNDREDS of women in Iran hold their babies into the air to show they are willing to “Sacrifice” their children to God and to Imam HosseinIslam DOES NOT belong in Western Society pic.twitter.com/sCZi6hlaps— The Patriot Oasis (@ThePatriotOasis) June 28, 2025 The ceremony took place nearly a week after the U.S. dropped numerous bombs on Iran’s key nuclear sites. The U.S. attack is said to have destroyed key Iranian nuclear assets, setting Iran’s nuclear program back years.   Victoria Coates, deputy national security adviser during President Donald Trump’s first term, says that despite one early report that the strikes caused only limited damage, subsequent information “suggests that the strike was a huge success and may have set them back as much as 10 or 15 years.”  Trump gave Iran 60 days to reach a diplomatic solution with the U.S. over its nuclear program, but when no deal was reached, Israel launched a targeted campaign on Iran, striking its nuclear facilities, military assets, and top military personnel and nuclear scientists. Less than two weeks into Israel’s campaign against Iran, the U.S. launched its attack, and two days later, Trump declared an end to the conflict between Israel and Iran.   For now, the ceasefire between Israel and Iran appears to be holding.   The post Iranian Women Hold Babies Aloft as Symbolic Sacrifice in Ritual While Chanting ‘Death to America, Death to Israel’ appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Heritage Action Endorses Senate’s Big Beautiful Bill

Heritage Action, which has 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, came out swinging for the U.S. Senate’s budget reconciliation bill in a press statement released Monday.  The group, one of the largest conservative grassroots organizations in the United States, backed the budget bill that is set to pass the upper chamber early this week. It will then proceed back to the House of Representatives for a vote with the hope that it can be on the president’s desk to be signed into law by July 4th.  “The One Big Beautiful Bill Act delivers what Americans have long demanded: the beginning of a return to common sense, to accountability, and to a government that serves the people, not the other way around,” Kevin Roberts, the president of Heritage Action, said in a statement. It is critical to pass the best package possible—as soon as possible—to jumpstart America’s golden age. Heritage Action urges @SenateGOP to unite & support the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. https://t.co/r4pxvguAmN pic.twitter.com/xoZk94Xvso— Heritage Action (@Heritage_Action) June 30, 2025 The legislation, which has been extensively worked on by Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., is a major step in codifying President Donald Trump’s agenda on border security, tax cuts, eliminating government waste, and rebuilding America’s defense.  Roberts explained that he viewed the Senate bill as marking a pivot in history that will improve the lives of Americans. “The House took a strong step forward, achieving many conservative wins for the American people. Now, the Senate has sharpened that work. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is not just an ambitious compilation of good policy, it’s a turning point towards a better future for the American people,” Roberts said.  Steve Chartan, vice president for government relations at The Heritage Foundation, urged senators to vote for the best policy outcome.  “It is critical to pass the best package possible—as soon as possible—to jump-start America’s golden age. Heritage Action’s grassroots army of conservatives will continue to hold lawmakers accountable for delivering on the promises made to voters,” Chartan contended.  The Senate bill blocks taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, strengthens SNAP work requirements, reduces Green New Deal subsidies, and creates work requirements for Medicaid.  “Heritage Action applauded key legislative wins in the House-passed reconciliation package and urged the Senate to make critical improvements to the bill. We are pleased to see many priorities reflected in the Senate version—and Heritage Action urges senators to support the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” Chartan said.  The post Heritage Action Endorses Senate’s Big Beautiful Bill appeared first on The Daily Signal.

What Sen. Tillis’ Retirement Could Mean for GOP

What Sen. Tillis’ Retirement Could Mean for GOP

Sen. Thom Tillis announced Sunday that he would not be seeking reelection, just one day after President Donald Trump threatened to support a primary challenger against the North Carolina Republican owing to his vote against proceeding with the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act. There could be major implications for Republicans—with a possibility of losing the maverick centrist senator’s North Carolina seat in 2026. Tillis’ announcement came after Trump was enraged by his vote against a motion to proceed on the 10-year fiscal package.  “Numerous people have come forward wanting to run in the primary against Senator Thom Tillis,” Trump wrote Saturday night. “I will be meeting with them over the coming weeks, looking for someone who will properly represent the Great People of North Carolina and, so importantly, the United States of America.” Tillis voted against proceeding with the bill because of his opposition to lowering the provider tax, a tool states use to compel the federal government to provide more funding for Medicaid. Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C. (Bill Clark/CQ-Roll Call via Getty Images) The next day, Tillis lamented “political theatre and partisan gridlock” as he announced his intent to retire at the end of his term late next year. Tillis has been willing to cooperate with Democrats in the past, lending his support to “red flag” gun control laws and the Respect for Marriage Act, which codified federal recognition of same-sex marriage. Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said Sunday that the announcement was a long time coming. “It’s unfortunate, and it’s something he’s been thinking about for a while, and he just finally decided that was the best decision for him and his family,” said Thune. Tillis’ departure is emblematic of a larger trend within the Republican Party as centrists become more rare and others coalesce around Trump. Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb., who has not been shy about criticizing Trump on occasion, also announced over the weekend that he would not be seeking reelection in his purple swing-district in 2026. A Political Earthquake Now, Republicans have to worry about the consequences of losing Tillis in North Carolina, a key swing state where he has strong name recognition from his years as speaker of the state House of Representatives before becoming a U.S. senator. Tillis already had his operation up and running, having hired longtime Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio for the campaign, which Cook Political Report has just shifted from “Lean Republican” to “Toss Up” in its projections. That could spell trouble, as Democrats are also eyeing Senate pickup opportunities in Maine and Texas in 2026.  Who Might Run in Tillis’ Place? A few names have been floated already in Washington media regarding would-be Tillis successors. For example, anonymous sources have told both NBC News and NOTUS that Lara Trump, a native North Carolinian married to the president’s son Eric Trump, is considering a run for the soon-to-be vacant seat. Michael Whatley, chairman of the Republican National Committee, is also being considered as a potential successor to Tillis, an anonymous source told Politico.  Republicans also have 10 representatives from North Carolina in the House that they could choose from as candidates for the Senate race.  One of them, Virginia Foxx, is 82 years old and recently became chairwoman of the House Rules Committee, so she is an unlikely candidate.  However, The Wall Street Journal suggests that a number of North Carolina representatives are eyeing Tillis’ seat. “Rep. Greg Murphy is seriously considering running for Senate in 2026, and Reps. Richard Hudson, Pat Harrigan, and Tim Moore are also eyeing a run, according to people familiar with the matter,” it reported. None of the offices of the representatives mentioned by The Wall Street Journal immediately responded to requests for comment. A Rogue Tillis? A danger at the moment is the fact that Tillis, who’s bucked the party line before, has nothing to lose anymore. Tillis took to the Senate floor shortly after announcing his resignation, where he called for a moderation of the big, beautiful bill’s Medicaid reforms and accused members of the White House of misinforming Trump on the impact of lowering the provider tax. The facts matter. The people matter. The Senate’s Medicaid approach breaks promises and will kick people off of Medicaid who truly need it. The Senate can make one simple fix to make sure that won’t happen. pic.twitter.com/zvW1AgCxBF— Senator Thom Tillis (@SenThomTillis) June 30, 2025 Sporting an ultra-casual look of a polo shirt and bolo tie, he went all out in alleging that the administration was falling short of Trump’s promises to focus on waste, fraud, and abuse in health care and to not deprive deserving Americans of Medicaid benefits. “Republicans are about to make a mistake on health care and betraying a promise,” he implored. “It is inescapable that this bill, in its current form, will betray the very promise that Donald Trump made.” He then accused “amateurs” in the White House of misinforming the president on the impact of the bill. Given Tillis’ anger with Congress’ approach and now his immunity to threats of a primary challenge, it will likely be difficult to push him around over the remaining year-and-a-half of his tenure. Tillis has already played a part in shaping the agenda in the new term, most notably when his opposition to Ed Martin as U.S. attorney for D.C. preceded the withdrawal of Martin’s nomination. Why Trump’s Trip to ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ Could Boost ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’

President Donald Trump is visiting Florida’s new immigration detention center, dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz,” on Tuesday, which the White House contends backs up the need to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill. A reporter on Monday asked White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt why Trump would travel to the facility about 50 miles west of Miami while the fate of the key tax and spending legislation hangs in the balance in the Senate.  “His trip to this detention facility underscores the need to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill because we need more detention facilities across the country,” Leavitt said. “The last administration let in nearly 20 million illegal people from all over the world. This administration is focused on arresting and detaining them.” If the bill, which locks in the 2017 Trump tax cuts and includes new money for border and immigration enforcement, passes the Senate, it has to return to the House for final passage after its initially narrow approval there.  “In comparison to that 20 million illegal criminal population in our country, we only have 7,000 ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] agents in the interior who are doing this very important work,” the press secretary continued. “So, obviously, we need more personnel, we need more resources. That’s why we need to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill.” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., will also be at the detention center for the opening.  “The facility is in the heart of the Everglades and will be informally known as ‘Alligator Alcatraz,’” Leavitt said. “There is only one road leading in. The only way out is a one-way flight. It is isolated and surrounded by dangerous wildlife and unforgiving terrain. The facility will have up to 5,000 beds to house, process, and deport criminal illegal aliens. This is an efficient and low-cost way to help carry out the largest deportation campaign in American history.” The original Alcatraz was an island prison off the coast of California that was difficult to escape. That facility was long ago shuttered as a prison but continues to be a tourist attraction. Leavitt later stressed the facility is specifically for criminal illegal aliens. “When you have illegal murderers and rapists and heinous criminals in a detention facility surrounded by alligators, yes, I do think that’s a deterrent for them to try to escape,” she said.  “We do know that some of these illegal criminals have escaped from other detention facilities like one in New Jersey. Of course, we want to keep the American people safe. We want to remove these public safety threats from our streets and we want to effectively detain them as best as we can.” The post Why Trump’s Trip to ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ Could Boost ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ appeared first on The Daily Signal.

POLL RESULTS: Worst Media Take of the Week Winner!

We’ve got a new, fun interactive series called Worst Media Take of the Week, where you — our loyal NewsBusters visitors and MRC supporters — get to vote on which leftist journalist or celebrity had the worst media take of the week.   Much appreciation to all who voted last week via NewsBusters and the MRC’s various social media sites (Facebook, Instagram and X.com).   The results of the Worst Media Take of the Week are in and the winner is… Erin Burnett! Burnett won in a landslide with 79 percent of the vote! The CNN anchor took first place for absurdly claiming there was a “friendliness” to Iranians who chanted “Death to America!” Actor Diego Luna finished in second place with 11 percent of the vote. PBS’s Jonathan Capehart finished in third place with 10 percent.  The following is a montage of all the nominees:      WINNER (79 percent of the vote)   Erin Burnett: There Was a “Friendliness” To Iranians Who Chanted “Death to America” “I remember, Dana, at one point being in Tehran years ago and they’re chanting ‘death to America’ all around me, even as I say, ‘Oh, I’m an American, reporting for CNN.’ And they were happy to speak to me. So those two sort of jarring realities of the chant and yet, the friendliness have existed together.”— Anchor Erin Burnett on CNN’s Inside Politics with Dana Bash, June 24.   SECOND PLACE (11 percent of the vote)   Diego Luna: I Don’t Understand How Trump’s “Hate Speech” Took Root In This Country “I have never been able to fully understand how it is that someone like Donald Trump is able to acquire this level of power. I always struggle to understand how his hate speech can take root in a country whose nature has always been a welcoming one.”— Actor Diego Luna substitute hosting on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, June 23.   THIRD PLACE (10 percent of the vote)   Jonathan Capehart: Republicans Are Afraid That “Being Human” Will Get Them on Wrong Side of Trump “There’s been silence, crickets, because they’re [Republicans] afraid of doing the right thing, of being human, will get them on the wrong side of the President of the United States. Folks should be very concerned about that.”— Washington Post associate editor/PBS contributor Jonathan Capehart on PBS’s News Hour, June 20.   Thanks again to all who participated!    Funded by James P. The Dukes of Pennsylvania Avenue? Viral ‘General Lee’ stunt driver wants to ‘Jump for Trump’

Raymond Kohn is “just a good ol' boy, never meanin' no harm." After going viral for jumping the “General Lee” over a fountain in Kentucky over the weekend, the stunt driver told Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck that he wants his next jump to be one to remember.According to the NY Post, Kohn has completed 30 jumps in replicas of the famous car from "The Dukes of Hazzard” TV show, the most recent being his jump over a fountain blasting dyed blue water in downtown Somerset, Kentucky. The jump was the highlight of a weekend festival.‘It’s gonna be huge.’Clips of that jump went viral on social media over the weekend and caught the attention of people from all walks of life.Kohn’s jumps have taken him all over the United States, including Detroit, Mich.; Bristol, Tenn.; and more. Now, he wants to up the ante and blow all those jumps away with an epic jump in the nation’s capital. On Monday morning, he used his newfound fame to pitch Glenn Beck on his epic idea.RELATED: 'The car is innocent': Stars of 'The Dukes of Hazzard' defend classic show and iconic 'General Lee' Beck began the interview with Kohn by playing a clip of the jump in Kentucky, and the two discussed what happened over the weekend. After Beck told Kohn, “I’ve got to put an event together, just because I want to invite you to jump the ‘General Lee’ over something,” Kohn seized the opening to outline his plan.“Glenn, we want to build an ‘American Patriot General Lee,’” Kohn explained. “And we want to put, like, '47-45' on the doors, put a big old American flag on the roof, and we’re gonna call it the ‘Jump for Trump 2025.’”RELATED: Leftists rage over Trump’s latest patriotic installment at the White House — (@) Where would this jump take place?Kohn continued, “We want to jump in front of the White House. That’s what we want to do.”Beck, clearly amused by the suggestion, said, “That’s fantastic. I’ll bring it up to him. If there’s any president that will do it, it’ll be him.”Kohn replied, “It’s gonna be huge.”Beck then relayed a story President Trump told him about the big flagpole recently placed on the White House grounds. Though Trump initially worried that the idea would involve too much red tape, he was soon pleased to learn that he, as president, would be the one to approve installation of the pole. That story convinced Beck that Trump would be willing to build a stunt jump as well.Beck then said, “I bet he could build that jump,” referring to Trump and the proposed White House stunt. When it comes to logistics, Kohn said it wouldn’t be hard, telling Beck, “We could build a car in two weeks. My team could build a ‘Great American’ [car].”Time will tell if Kohn’s plan becomes an all-American reality.Like Blaze News? 'Ginger ISIS member' has terror plot thwarted by Roblox user: 'I cannot agree with the term terrorist'

For years, a running gag on the internet has involved protectively adding "in Minecraft" to the end of any expressed desire to do something that would alarm the authorities. But now, an all-too-serious plot has flipped the joke on its head, as details emerge concerning an 18-year-old's discussion of his alleged terrorist attack plan on the gaming platform Roblox. The plot was thwarted when a gamer on the platform, which boasts approximately 80 million users, turned to law enforcement after seeing the user make threats through the game's chat feature, which allows comments to pop up on-screen.What happened next was a shocking admission of terroristic aspirations made openly for other gamers to see.'By my very own definition, yes, I guess, you know, I would be a terrorist.'As reported by Court Watch, James Wesley Burger allegedly made threats on Roblox that the FBI described as a desire to commit an ISIS-inspired attack.Under the username Crazz3pain, Burger openly talked about wanting to "deal a grevious [sic] wound upon the followers of the Cross."Other screenshots from Roblox showed Burger stating "I cannot confirm anything aloud at the moment. But things are in motion."When asked "how many days until you do [that]," Burger replied, "It will be months. April."The witness — the other Roblox user — reportedly told the FBI that Burger had said in January that he expressed a desire to "kill Shia Muslims at their mosque" and commit martyrdom at a Christian-affiliated concert.A subsequent FBI search of Burger's home in February revealed even more shocking details.RELATED: Kids 'cosplaying as ICE agents' and performing raids on 'illegals' in Roblox game Photo courtesy court filings My San Antonio reported that one of Burger's family members had installed software to track every keystroke on his computer, which was provided to the FBI. This led to a search of his electronics, which revealed that Burger had allegedly searched online for guns, ammunition, "Lone wolf terrorists isis," and more. The Google searches also asked about "festivals happening near me" and if "suicide attacks [are] haram in islam," meaning against the faith.Burger also allegedly searched "ginger isis member," which has since become his moniker, although he may have been looking for the story of the "ginger jihadi" from Australia circa 2015.Through their investigation, FBI agents were able to confirm that Burger's email address was attached to the Roblox account in question, and they found data that corroborated his comments on the game.RELATED: Is your child being exposed to pedophiles in the metaverse? Photo courtesy court filingsBurger's conversations with the FBI appeared to be rather calm and clear, with the teenager allegedly telling an agent voluntarily that the "closest I mentioned was mentioning I would use, like … a pistol or a car or like a small hunting rifle" in regard to a potential attack. The suspect also took a moment to pray during the middle of his electronics being seized, My San Antonio stated. Burger then said, "Something like that. I don't remember mention of, like, a shotgun."The would-be ISIS member also said his goal was the "death of Christians," with a plan to escape the country or simply die in an act of "martyrdom." The 18-year-old also debated with agents as to whether or not he should be labeled a "terrorist.""[T]he intention … and the action is something that is meant to or will cause terror. … I cannot agree with the term terrorist, you know. I definitely agree that it serves the same means that a terrorist would be seeking," Burger reportedly told investigators. “By the sense … and by my very own definition, yes, I guess, you know, I would be a terrorist."RELATED: EXPOSED: Tim Walz's shocking ties to radical Muslim cleric Roblox told Blaze News in a statement that safety is "foundational" to everything the platform does."In this case, we moved swiftly to assist law enforcement's investigation before any real-world harm could occur and investigated and took action in accordance with our policies," the spokesperson explained. "After hearing from law enforcement in January 2025, Roblox swiftly provided information on the users involved; based on the complaint, we understand that the information we provided helped law enforcement positively identify the suspect in this case. To date, all known users involved have been moderated, removed, and banned from the platform."The Roblox representative also noted that their community standards "explicitly prohibit any content or behavior that depicts, supports, glorifies, or promotes terrorist or extremist organizations in any way."This includes implementing dedicated teams focused on removing such content and responding to requests from users and law enforcement.Burger was arrested on February 28, according to multiple outlets, and handed over to federal agents in May. He was indicted on two felony charges for interstate threatening communication in June; the charges were laid in Texas after his computer was identified as accessing Roblox from San Antonio and Austin. The witness who saw messages alluding to terrorism was in Nevada.Burger was denied bail due to being a flight risk.Like Blaze News? Rubio's State Department slams door on British band after anti-Israel rant at music fest

The upcoming U.S. tour for a British punk-rap duo is now in doubt after the U.S. State Department revoked the bandmates' visas following an anti-Israel rant at Glastonbury last weekend. On Saturday, Bob Vylan — composed of Bobby Vylan, aka Pascal Robinson-Foster, and drummer Bobbie Vylan — took the stage at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England, one of the most popular music events in the world. There, with a Palestinian flag adorning a banner with his band's name in the background, front man Bobby Vylan made clear that his group supports the Palestinian cause and wishes "death" upon members of the Israel Defense Forces.'I said what I said.'"All right, but have you heard this one, though? 'Death, death to the IDF,'" Vylan said. After the audience dutifully chanted, "Death, death to the IDF," over and over and enthusiastically waved Palestinian flags, Vylan added, "Hell yeah. From the river to the sea, Palestine must be, will be — inshallah — it will be free!" Video of the speech can be seen here.Response to the rant from Bobby Vylan was swift and fierce. Glastonbury Festival organizer Emily Eavis posted to social media that she was "appalled" by Vylan's words."Their chants very much crossed a line and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the Festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech, or incitement to violence," she said. The BBC, which streamed the Bob Vylan performance live, later expressed "regret" for not pulling the livestream. "The BBC respects freedom of expression but stands firmly against incitement to violence," the BBC said in a statement, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "The anti-Semitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves. We welcome Glastonbury’s condemnation of the performance."The U.S. State Department likewise took notice of Vylan's speech and immediately moved to block visas for both Bobby and Bobbie Vylan."The @StateDept has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants," Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau posted to X on Monday. "Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country."RELATED: Rubio to 'aggressively' revoke Chinese nationals' student visas to eviscerate CCP's spy invasion — (@) Bob Vylan is scheduled to perform on this side of the Atlantic Ocean later this year, kicking off a 16-stop North American tour with a gig in Spokane, Washington, in October. The revoked visas likely put this tour in jeopardy. For the moment, Bobby Vylan appears unfazed by all the "support and hatred" he has received since the stunt. In an Instagram post on Sunday, he encouraged parents to demonstrate in the streets and model political activism for their children."It is incredibly important that we encourage and inspire future generations to pick up the torch that was passed to us," his lengthy statement read in part. "Let us display to them loudly and visibly the right thing to do when we want and need change. Let them see us marching in the streets, campaigning on ground level, organising online and shouting about it on any and every stage that we are offered."He later commented: "I said what I said."Vylan also posted, "While Zionists are crying on socials, I’ve just had late night (vegan) ice cream," according to the U.K. Standard.RELATED: Rubio not taking guff from ICC — hammers foreign judges over targeting of US and Israel Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty ImagesSince he became secretary of state earlier this year, Marco Rubio has prioritized removing from the U.S. foreigners who threaten America and American values, especially those who take advantage of the opportunity to study at our prestigious universities."If you apply for a visa to enter the United States and be a student, and you tell us that the reason why you're coming to the United States is not just because you want to write op-eds, but because you want to participate in movements that are involved in doing things like vandalizing universities, harassing students, taking over buildings, creating a ruckus, we're not going to give you a visa," Rubio said back in March."We gave you a visa to come and study and get a degree, not to become a social activist that tears up our university campuses."On his first day back in the Oval Office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order vowing to take "forceful and unprecedented steps to combat anti-Semitism," which included revoking foreign student visas and deporting Hamas sympathizers.Like Blaze News?
