Authors at The Hill Demand Congress Keep Trump Out of Office

Authors at The Hill,  writing in the Opinion section, call on Congress to keep Donald Trump out of the presidency. The authors, Evan A. Davis and David M. Schulte, say he is an insurrectionist, which he provably is not. The Hill claims this is only the opinion of the authors, but we doubt that. Massive COVID-19 Cover Up Gets Worse: People Need to Pay

Jerry Dunleavy posted a thread on how the Biden-Harris regime covered up the COVID-19 origins. The FBI was the only agency to say the origin was likely the Wuhan lab, which was the obvious explanation. Scientists at DIA’s National Center for Medical Intel concluded COVID-19 had lab origin, but they were told to stop sharing […] The post Massive COVID-19 Cover Up Gets Worse: People Need to Pay appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Newsom Plots How To Fight Trump Deportations With ‘Immigrant Support’ Plan: Report

California Governor Gavin Newsom is working on a potential plan to counteract the new Trump administration’s plans for mass deportations, an early idea of how blue states could try to hamstring federal authorities looking to remove illegal migrants. The draft of the plan, called the “Immigrant Support Network Concept” suggests the “creation of an Immigrant Support Network comprised of regional ‘hubs’ to connect at-risk individuals, their families, and communities with community systems — such as legal services, schools, labor unions, local governments, etc,” Politico reported. The plan remains general, and the draft cautions that it is not finalized yet. Under the plan, the California Department of Social Services would be responsible for running the migrant support “hubs” and would give state funds to nonprofits. The department is still gauging interest in the program, according to the draft. The amount of funding the plan would require is unclear, but the draft says funding would go towards “community outreach, partnership, legal services staffing positions, and approved administrative costs associated with hub operations.” “The administration continues to collaborate with the Legislature to finalize a thoughtful special session funding proposal, which is on track to be signed into law before January 20, 2025,” department spokesperson Theresa Mier told the outlet. The second Trump administration has plans for a massive deportation operation to remove illegal migrants, starting with violent criminals. President-elect Donald Trump tapped Homan as “border czar” last month after his election victory, and Homan has been clear that he will lead an aggressive deportation strategy. While criminals will be prioritized for deportation, Homan said the U.S. is prepared to deport parents in the country illegally even if they have young U.S.-born children, allowing the families to decide whether to be deported together or split up and leave their children here. “Here’s the issue,” Homan told the Washington Post. “You knew you were in the country illegally and chose to have a child. So you put your family in that position.” “We need to show the American people we can do this and not be inhumane about it,” Homan said. “We can’t lose the faith of the American people.” Meanwhile, the Biden administration is rushing to sell off border wall materials before Trump takes office in an apparent effort to slow down the new administration’s efforts to secure the border. Across the country, there are now nearly 7.8 million illegal migrants, federal data shows. Of those, a total of 662,586, just around 8.6%, have been convicted of crimes or have charges pending, according to ICE data through July 21.

Burger King Branches Out With Unusual Menu Item, Diners Have Mixed Thoughts

Things are getting kind of crazy in the fast-food world lately. We saw the promised return of cult favorites like the chicken Snack Wrap at McDonalds, and KFC launched the new concept Saucy in Orlando this week. Other brands have flipped the script and added things to the menu that no one saw coming. Taco Bell now has nuggets for customers to enjoy with their tacos. If that wasn’t interesting enough, Burger King’s expanded menu now has tacos. That’s right, you can grab a Whopper and a crispy taco at participating Burger King restaurants for a limited time. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Markie_devo (@markie_devo) This Was One Burger King Menu Item No One Saw Coming Markie Devo shared the BK taco news on Instagram with an interesting post. It explores, in part, “Burger King previously sold tacos at some locations years ago, now they’re back at select locations. Burger King Crispy Tacos feature seasoned beef, melted American cheese, crisp lettuce, and zesty taco sauce in a crunchy tortilla shell.” Markie shared that Burger King enthusiasts claim they’ve seen tacos on the menu in San Antonio, and other franchises will carry them as well. The best way to tell if a location near you will serve tacos is to check the app for availability. This addition perplexed some fans. A critic from “We didn’t ask for that. But bring back the whopperito though.” This person had a different suggestion, “Stick to burgers. They could do taco-inspired burgers.” This person wonders what is happening to the world. They wrote, “We got NFL on Netflix, tacos at Burger King and chicken nuggets at Taco Bell.” But it’s not all bad. This fan welcomed the new Burger King menu item, “Dude, I’m in the select few who actually enjoyed these! I think that they were much better than Jack In The Box tacos!” This story’s featured image is by vivooo via Shutterstock. Biden Administration Renews ‘Inexcusable’ China-US Deal

China and the U.S. signed a science cooperation agreement this month, an agreement that has been renewed every five years since 1979—yet one expert urges that this time, it’s “inexcusable.”  Many conservatives argue that this decision should have been left to the incoming Trump administration, as the inauguration is now only weeks away. However, that is far from the only objection to the agreement renewal.  Considering the Chinese Communist Party’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic and its “systematic cover-up,” experts in the field of U.S.-China relations are concerned that the CCP will take advantage of the agreement.  “It’s inexcusable that we would sign any kind of finance pact with them—or any kind of agreement—until they were held accountable for their role [in the COVID-19 pandemic].” Erin Walsh, a senior research fellow for national security in The Heritage Foundation’s Asian Studies Center, told The Daily Signal.  Walsh noted that though then-President Donald Trump did renew the agreement back in 2018, that was before the COVID-19 pandemic.   The State Department did adjust the pact, officially known as the U.S.-PRC Science and Technology Agreement. These amendments have “modernized and strengthened” the agreement with the goal of “transparency and data reciprocity,” according to its statement, released on Dec. 13.   Despite these adjustments, conservatives remain apprehensive.  A 2018 White House report found that China stole “between $180 billion and $540 billion annually” in intellectual property. Walsh said that this is “an unprecedented amount of stolen research and IP theft.”  The Biden administration requested two extensions before finally renewing the Science and Technology Agreement just weeks before Trump’s inauguration.  Rep. John Moolenaar, R-Mich., and 13 other House members agreed that renewing the pact now is a “clear attempt to tie the hands” of the incoming Trump administration, which could abandon the agreement or negotiate different adjustments. The committee cited concerns that science and technology cooperation served to strengthen China’s military.  Amendments made to the Science and Technology Agreement state that only “basic research” would be shared across China and the U.S., though critics argue that the CCP is an “untrustworthy research partner.”  In 2019, China removed American access to U.S.-funded coronavirus work at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Some intelligence agencies consider the institute to be the source of the COVID-19 pandemic.   Walsh noted that John Ratcliffe, Trump’s selection for CIA director, published a bipartisan and comprehensive report on China with The Heritage Foundation. The report’s goal was to “calculate the human toll and economic damages caused by the Chinese government, and to make recommendations to hold China accountable.”   Experts like Walsh, as well as many Republicans set to serve in the next administration, prioritize CCP accountability over any benefit the agreement could offer.  “There’s a huge preponderance of people … that are involved with IP theft and that are threatening our economy and way of living and our defense systems and challenging our intelligence systems,” Walsh said. “I think there’s a need for the United States to take a closer look at where that’s coming from, and it’s coming from the CCP.”  The post Biden Administration Renews ‘Inexcusable’ China-US Deal  appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Who Can Trust White House Reporters Who Hid Biden’s Infirmity?

Who Can Trust White House Reporters Who Hid Biden’s Infirmity?

Even after The Wall Street Journal published a four-byline bombshell detailing how President Joe Biden’s staff energetically hid his ongoing cognitive decline from the public, there wasn’t a single question at the White House briefing. No reporters demanded answers about how they were misled, or complained they were pressured into silence. They mustered that umbrage over the Hunter Biden pardon, but this slow-rolling scandal was apparently too painful to recount. Perhaps they thought that since Biden was talked out of a reelection bid, the matter was settled. This scandal is already over. But Trump scandals never stop emerging. Radio host Hugh Hewitt proclaimed he had been calling Biden “infirm” for two years but didn’t know the depth of the infirmity that’s now been revealed. Everyone inside the White House must have known, including the reporters. He said they were “either explicitly complicit or recklessly indifferent” to Biden’s decline. Hewitt upset knee-jerk defenders of the media when he said, “With the exception of Peter Doocy, I would ban everyone from the White House press room who has been there for the past four years because they are obviously of no use to the country. They didn’t tell us the number one thing, which is that [Biden] is not competent. Why in the world would Trump let them in?” Hewitt’s guest, author Bethany Mandel, agreed about the media failure: “It’s really disturbing and it’s funny because Brian Stelter and all the columnists decree the trust that we should all have in the media, that we should all respect them and their hard work and sacrifice. Can you imagine any other job in America where you could do your job that badly and still keep on failing up? The media is pretty much it.” For his part, Doocy expressed amazement on Fox that no one asked Karine Jean-Pierre a single question about this. His Fox colleague Jacqui Heinrich was present, but Jean-Pierre did not call on her (no need to wonder why). The White House briefing room under Republicans is like a roiling shark tank. Under Democrats, it’s a shallow kiddie pool. Donald Trump allows hateful reporters to question him. Pro-Biden reporters have supinely accepted getting few opportunities to interview Biden and Kamala Harris, until they decide they’ll take a swing or two. Everyone knew the president was babbling and bumbling. They knew because they observed it firsthand, and they knew because he was kept away from the press, and he was even kept away from his own cabinet members. They knew because reporters like Courtney Subramanian of the Los Angeles Times were in on it. Photographs showed that in a press conference, she asked the question that Biden had on a notecard with her name and her face on it. Some reporters—like former CNN political scribe Chris Cillizza—are confessing that they should have been pushed back when Biden aides furiously argued asking questions was ageist. He admitted, “I should have not let the shame campaign to make you feel bad for asking the question get to me.” But CNN’s audience expects relentless anti-Trump bias, and questioning Biden seems like it’s helping Trump. That’s the reflex—don’t do anything that helps Trump. Like your jobs. This entire spectacle makes it sickening that leftist journalists are all running around right now worrying that Donald Trump’s lawsuits against the press will cause them to “self-censor.” As if they haven’t been aerobically self-censoring for the last four years.
