JUST IN: Federal Judge, Brother Of Former Supreme Court Justice, Rules On Gavin Newsom’s Lawsuit Against President Trump Using National Guard

A federal judge rejected Gov. Gavin Newsom’s effort to immediately block the Trump administration from using the National Guard and Marines to quell the Los Angeles riots. Newsom filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, alleging it violated California’s sovereignty by federalizing National Guard troops. Breaking: Judge rejects Newsom bid to limit National Guard operations in LA https://t.co/AD88oYcPrT — John Solomon (@jsolomonReports) June 10, 2025 Per CNN: Senior US District Judge Charles R. Breyer instead scheduled a hearing for 1:30 p.m. Thursday over a request from the state for a temporary restraining order that would bar officials from directing the service members to assist with certain law enforcement activities. Attorneys for the state had asked the judge earlier Tuesday to swiftly issue the order without receiving a response from the Trump administration. But the judge has asked both sides to submit more written arguments in the case ahead of the hearing later this week. In a brief filing to the court Tuesday afternoon, the Justice Department called the state’s request “legally meritless” and argued that if granted, it “would jeopardize the safety of Department of Homeland Security personnel and interfere with the Federal Government’s ability to carry out operations.” Breyer is the brother of retired Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. Breyer is the younger brother of Stephen Breyer, who was appointed by Clinton to the high court and served on the bench for nearly three decades beginning in 1994. Stephen Breyer’s retirement led to former President Joe Biden replacing him with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Charles Breyer, who serves on the federal bench in the Northern District of California, will oversee a lawsuit that pits Newsom, one of the country’s most prominent Democrats and a possible 2028 presidential contender, against Trump.

FBI Director Kash Patel Announces Arrest Of Nearly 250 Alleged Child Abusers In Multi-Agency Operation

FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest of hundreds of alleged child abusers and over 100 child rescues in a multi-agency operation in Texas. “Thanks to Operation Soteria Shield — a full scale effort of over 70 federal, state, and local public/private partners coming together to protect America’s kids from criminals. We’re taking them off the street and not stopping,” Patel said. We’re taking them off the street and not stopping. From The Daily Wire: Over 100 children were rescued during the enforcement operation, 244 offenders were arrested by authorities, and 368 total charges were filed, both federal and state. The operation — which was jointly managed by the FBI Dallas Division, Dallas Police Department, Plano Police Department, Wylie Police Department, and Garland Police Department — also involved 165 search warrants and the seizure of 1,130 digital devices, an FBI spokesman shared. “FBI leadership has made it crystal clear: If you harm children in America, there will be no place for you to hide,” FBI spokesman Ben Williamson told The Daily Wire. “The FBI will spare no effort to pursue you, find you, and bring you to justice.” “We are proud of our Dallas teams and local partnerships in the region for once again delivering a successful operation and making American neighborhoods safer,” Williamson added. SAC Rothrock hosted a press conference with our law enforcement partners to announce the results of Soteria Shield, a month-long enforcement operation aimed at rescuing children from online sexual exploitation and bringing perpetrators to justice. https://t.co/jQpvCbkUVn pic.twitter.com/zyd0TFijiL — FBI Dallas (@FBIDallas) June 10, 2025 FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth reports: In Fort Worth, the FBI, assisted by the Fort Worth Police Department, arrested Michael Huffman. He has been charged with distributing and possessing child pornography, which included multiple images of an adult male engaging in a sex act with a female child. According to Larson, when agents went to Huffman’s home to execute a search warrant, they found him sitting in his driveway with his laptop open with child pornography on display. By Huffman’s own admission, he’s been trading this material for years. He faces 20 years in prison. “The numbers of offenders arrested, and children rescued in this operation are stunning. The numbers leave us breathless because, at some level, we understand that behind every statistic, every number, there is a child with dreams, aspirations, and the right to live a life free from sexual exploitation,” said Eastern District of Texas Acting U.S. Attorney Jay Combs. “We are committed to teaming with law enforcement to investigate and prosecute these cases with urgency and ferocity in order to protect our children.” “Operation Soteria Shield was a massive team effort and a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we unite around one clear mission: protecting our kids and holding offenders accountable. I am proud that the Dallas Police Department is the lead agency for the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and am grateful for the many, many agencies who contributed to this successful operation,” said Dallas Police Chief Daniel C. Comeaux.

WATCH: L.A. Police Detain Reporter Live On-Air During Anti-ICE Riots

Los Angeles police detained a CNN reporter and his crew on live television Tuesday night as anti-ICE riots continued to roil the city following federal immigration enforcement raids. CNN correspondent Jason Carroll was captured on live television with his hands behind his back, surrounded by officers in riot gear during Laura Coates’ 11 p.m. broadcast. “I’m being detained, Laura,” Carroll can be heard saying after police briefly restrained him and his crew, according to a report from the New York Post. Officers ultimately allowed Carroll to leave, but warned him not to return to the area. “We’re letting you go, but you can’t come back … if you come back in, then you go,” an officer told the reporter. A CNN spokesperson confirmed to the New York Post that the news team was “briefly detained” while documenting events as police cleared the area, adding they were “pleased the situation resolved quickly once the reporting team presented law enforcement with their CNN credentials.” The CNN correspondent had just finished his report from the scene of the riot on CNN’s “Laura Coates Live,” when the host noticed the confrontation and went back to the L.A. crew. Am I seeing Jason Carroll being – what happened? Jason?” “I am being detained,” Carroll replied. “I’m being detained, Laura.” Carroll narrated the encounter while the LAPD escorted him away. CNN’s reporter on scene in Los Angeles: I’m being detained.. pic.twitter.com/DANNms8ZZj — Acyn (@Acyn) June 10, 2025 “I’m not being arrested, correct, officers?” he asked. “Did you hear what he told you?” an officer asked the reporter. “No,” Carroll replied. “We’re letting you go, but you can’t come back,” the officer said. “Because then if you come back in, then you go. Ok, please?” “Ok, thank you, officer,” Carroll replied before attempting to communicate with Coates again. “If you guys can still hear me, what happened was, I was –” Carroll said before being cut off by an alleged New York Times reporter. “I’m Chris with The New York Times. We got video of you guys. If you need it later, call The New York Times.” The Post notes it is still unclear who “Chris” is at this time, and the Times has yet to confirm his role at the paper at the time of publication. “Thank you, I appreciate that,” Carroll said before going back to Coates. “So here’s what happened, Laura,” he said. “I was called over, and the officer told me to put my hands behind my back. I said, ‘Am I being arrested?’ He said, ‘You are being detained.’ I was walked out of the area. They took down my information.” Carroll’s audio suddenly cut out, leading Coates to turn to CNN Chief Law Enforcement Analyst John Miller for analysis. Miller, the former Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism of the NYPD, said police officers have to remain skeptical of “press” credentials when responding to protests because “you have anarchist groups and agitators who show up and say, ‘Well, I have a blog, so therefore I’m press. So therefore, even though I’ve been throwing bottles and screaming epithets, I’m not part of the protest. I want to be treated as media.’ So they sort through people one at a time.” The Los Angeles anti-ICE protests, which began somewhat peacefully early Saturday after reported raids in the area, deteriorated into more chaotic scenes by late afternoon, leading President Donald Trump to deploy thousands of National Guard troops to the area. On Sunday, a reporter for the CNN-affiliated 9News Australia was struck by a rubber bullet fired by law enforcement while conducting a live broadcast.

Rubio Defends Israeli Officials After 5 Western Governments Sanction Them For ‘Extremist Rhetoric’

Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Tuesday after five Western governments imposed sanctions on them for “extremist rhetoric.” The countries sanctioning the two Israeli cabinet members include Canada, the United Kingdom, Norway, New Zealand, and Australia. They released a joint statement claiming the officials had “incited extremist violence and serious abuses of Palestinian human rights” in Judea and Samaria, also known as the West Bank. “These sanctions do not advance U.S.-led efforts to achieve a ceasefire, bring all hostages home, and end the war,” Rubio said in a statement. “We reject any notion of equivalence: Hamas is a terrorist organization that committed unspeakable atrocities, continues to hold innocent civilians hostage, and prevents the people of Gaza from living in peace.” Rubio added that the United States “urges the reversal of the sanctions” and “stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel.” DONALD TRUMP HAS A RECOMMENDATION FOR GRETA THUNBERG AFTER HER ‘SELFIE FLOTILLA’ The sanctions reportedly include travel bans and asset freezes, though the ministers are not known to have any assets in those countries. In the five countries’ statement, they claim that the situation in Judea and Samaria cannot be viewed separately from “the catastrophe” in Gaza. They added that they are “appalled by the immense suffering of civilians, including the denial of essential aid” and that they oppose “unlawful transfer of Palestinians from Gaza or within the West Bank” or any reduction of the territory of the Gaza Strip. The countries accuse Ben-Gvir and Smotrich of “extremist rhetoric” including allegedly advocating for the “forced displacement of Palestinians and the creation of new Israeli settlements.” Both Ben-Gvir and Smotrich are the Israeli boogeymen to the Israeli Left and Western media due to their extremely nationalistic and hawkish right-wing views, including for the expansion of settlements in Judea and Samaria and support for relocating Gazans from the Gaza Strip. CHRISTIAN PRO-ISRAEL CONFERENCE CANCELS AFTER ‘OVERWHELMING’ NUMBER OF CREDIBLE TERROR THREATS Smotrich responded in a speech on Tuesday while he was inaugurating the new Israeli settlement “Mitzpe Ziv” in the Hebron Hills. “I heard that Britain had decided to impose sanctions on me for obstructing the establishment of the Palestinian state,” he said. “The timing couldn’t be better.” He added that Britain has already once attempted to prevent Jews from “settling in the cradle of our homeland” and that “we are determined to continue building.” In the five countries’ statement, they repeatedly mention the two-state solution, a plan for both an Israeli and Palestinian state, claiming that it is “extremist rhetoric” to reject such a plan. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Huckabee said that the United States no longer backs the establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria, in an interview with Bloomberg published Tuesday. HOW TRUMP AND RUBIO PUT AMERICA FIRST IN 100 DAYS Ben-Gvir also responded to the sanctions on Tuesday, claiming that these countries are attacking Israel while they have their own internal issues to worry about. “While the European colonial countries fantasize that we Jews are still their subjects, the streets of their famous cities are being taken over by radical Islam,” he wrote. “But their campaign of appeasement for the Hamas terrorists will not save them. When they finally wake up, it will be too late!” Moments after being protested by a bottle-throwing crowd near Yale University, Itamar Ben-Gvir sat down with me to discuss the stark contrast between his VIP treatment at Mar-a-Lago and the hostile reception from anti-Israel students. Here’s what he said: pic.twitter.com/KoNVqyP66W — Kassy Akiva (@KassyAkiva) April 25, 2025 In April, protesters near Yale University hurled bottles at Ben-Gvir during his trip to the United States, just a day after he was welcomed by applause from a crowd filled with Trump allies and members of Congress at Mar-a-Lago. He told The Daily Wire that the reception likely wouldn’t have happened if President Donald Trump had lost because he was detested by the Biden administration. Gift Dad an All Access Membership. Terry Moran Out At ABC News After ‘Hater’ Post Against Top Admin Official

Terry Moran, formerly of ABC News, is out at the network following a “clear violation” of the newsroom’s policies in which he targeted White House aide Stephen Miller in a scornful social media post. Moran worked as ABC News’ senior national correspondent until Sunday when the network suspended the prominent journalist over an X post in which he called Miller a “world-class hater.” The network said in a statement on Tuesday that its contract with Moran’s is up, and it has decided not to renew. “We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew,” an ABC spokesman said. “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.” "At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism," the ABC spokesperson adds. — Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) June 10, 2025 In an early Sunday morning post, Moran suggested that Miller, who serves as deputy chief of staff at the White House, is full of “bile.” “Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He’s a world-class hater,” Moran said. The post earned sharp rebukes from the administration. “An ABC journalist [Terry Moran] posted this absolutely vile smear of Stephen Miller. It’s dripping with hatred. Remember that every time you watch ABC’s coverage of the Trump administration,” said Vice President JD Vance. Gift Dad an All Access Membership. Use code DAD40 at checkout to save 40%! White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the White House reached out to ABC News about potential punishment for Moran over his comments. “Last night, in a since deleted post, so-called ‘journalist’ [Terry Moran] went on a rampage against Stephen Miller and called President Trump ‘a world class hater.’ This is unhinged and unacceptable. We have reached out to [ABC] to inquire about how they plan to hold Terry accountable,” said Leavitt. Miller himself responded: “The most important fact about Terry’s full public meltdown is what it shows about the corporate press in America. For decades, the privileged anchors and reporters narrating and gatekeeping our society have been radicals adopting a journalist’s pose. Terry pulled off his mask.” ABC News told The Daily Wire in a statement on Sunday that the network “does not condone subjective personal attacks on others.” “The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards – as a result, Terry Moran has been suspended pending further evaluation,” a network spokesman said.
