Triumph has announced a special edition motorcycle that’s sure to interest fans of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The 2025 Triumph Bonneville T120 Elvis Presley Limited Edition is limited to only 925 units worldwide and celebrates Elvis and his Memphis Mafia group of friends who rode on Bonnevilles.  Inspiration for the Elvis Presley Limited Edition came from a story in 1965. The story attests that Elvis was hanging out with his “Memphis Mafia” friend group in Bel Air shortly after Jerry Schilling had bought a new Triumph T120 Bonneville. After Elvis took it for a ride, he ordered Bonnevilles for the whole group of nine buddies, who rode their new bikes late into the evening until neighbors complained about the noise.  Triumph Motorcycles is currently in search of the Memphis Mafia Bonnevilles, and anyone who has information about these bikes is asked to email elvistriumph@triumphmotorcycles.com.  The Bonneville T120 Elvis Presley Limited Edition has been crafted to honor its namesake. The Carnival Red color scheme was inspired by the J Daar custom Bonneville, which was created to raise money for the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation in 2023. The bike also features “ELVIS” gold lettering on the tank, which Triumph intended to represent set lights. Also on the tank and side panels is Elvis’s signature.  A more subtle detail for Elvis fans is the “Taking Care of Business in a Flash” emblem on the front fender. The line was said to be a personal mantra of Elvis and the design featured on the necklace presented to each of his Memphis Mafia friends.  Other details include tank stripes in Aluminum Silver, hand-painted gold line detailing, and a chrome finish on selected parts, including the sweeping exhaust with peashooter silencers. Only 925 of these special edition bikes will be made, and each one will feature a numbered handlebar clamp with Elvis Presley’s signature laser-etched onto it. The three-bar tank badge and machined engine fins recreate the look from the iconic 1959 Bonneville.  Each Elvis Presley Limited Edition bike will come with a Sony gold disc in an exclusive Elvis Presley and Triumph Motorcycles record sleeve, along with a certificate of authenticity signed by Triumph CEO Nick Bloor and Jamie Salter, founder, chairman, and CEO of ABG, Elvis Presley Enterprises.   The 2025 Triumph Bonneville T120 Elvis Presley Limited Edition will be available starting at $15,495 and will arrive in dealerships starting in September 2024. Americans should be careful about using the cryptocurrency Tether because of its use by terrorists and drug cartels, according to a new multimillion-dollar campaign by a consumer group. Consumers’ Research, an independent education organization for consumers, launched a multi-pronged media campaign on Tuesday warning that Americans might be opening themselves up to financial risk by using Tether. Tether is one of the world’s most commonly traded cryptocurrencies and is linked one-to-one to the U.S. dollar. “We are shining a light on Tether for their suspicious business practices, including a decade-long refusal to perform an audit and the routine use of the product by terrorists and traffickers of drugs and humans,” Consumers’ Research Executive Director Will Hild said in a statement shared with The Daily Wire. The campaign against Tether includes a seven-figure national television buy, a Times Square digital billboard, and a website called “Tethered Corruption.” “Is Tether the next FTX?” the ad asks, before saying that the cryptocurrency is “chronically under investigation” and that it’s the “go-to cryptocurrency” for drug cartels and human traffickers. Multiple reports in the last year have highlighted Tether’s use by Hamas, Chinese fentanyl suppliers, and the North Korean nuclear program. Back in 2020, the Justice Department charged six members of an international drug ring with using Tether to bribe a government official. According to some estimates, there were about $19.3 billion in illicit Tether transactions in 2023. Tether has pushed back on allegations of wrongdoing, saying that estimates of illicit activity are exaggerated and that it aids law enforcement. “We have always assisted law enforcement when called upon to act, and we remain fully committed to continuing to work proactively with agencies globally,” the company said in December 2023. “Tether has and will assist in identifying and freezing addresses subject to sanctions, engaged in illicit activity, or engaged in any form of terrorist financing.” However, Consumers’ Research says that Tether has evaded real accountability, comparing it to FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange that imploded in November 2022, costing customers more than $10 billion. “Given these warning signs, we fear that Tether may very well be the next FTX,” Hild said. “Consumers should be wary of any so-called stablecoin that refuses to properly certify that they actually hold the assets they claim.”
