Tin Foil Haturday: The Democrats Claim There Is No Lefty Pedo Cabal. Roll the Tape.

by Kevin Downey Jr, PJ Media: I’ve been informed by the few liberals utopian socialists who still deign to speak to me that there is no secret confederacy of left-wing pedophiles ravaging hordes of children and that this was just a conspiracy theory whipped by tobaccy-chawin’, trailer-dwellin’ whackjobs. So I thought I’d pour some bourbon over an […]

Boeing To Face Criminal Charges?

Boeing To Face Criminal Charges?

Federal prosecutors reportedly have recommended to top Department of Justice officials that airplane manufacturer Boeing face criminal charges. The company allegedly violated a settlement related to two fatal crashes of the 737 Max plane. While the recommendation is not a final decision, the Justice Department has until July 7th to determine if it will criminally prosecute the manufacturer. “The Justice Department earlier this year found Boeing had violated the deferred prosecution agreement and indicated in court filings it might proceed with charges against the company for conduct tied to two deadly 737 Max crashes in 2018 and 2019 and beyond,” CBS News stated. Federal prosecutors recommend Justice Department bring criminal charges against Boeing https://t.co/zYv4M1Skza — CBS News (@CBSNews) June 24, 2024 WATCH: US prosecutors are recommending to senior Justice Department officials that criminal charges be brought against Boeing after finding the planemaker violated a settlement related to two fatal crasheshttps://t.co/syurSEnZNT pic.twitter.com/2ArE2IPQWS — Reuters (@Reuters) June 24, 2024 Per CBS News: The agreement stated Boeing would pay a $2.5 billion settlement and make certain organizational changes in exchange for the Justice Department dropping a fraud conspiracy charge after a period of three years. That three-year period would have ended in July, at which point the Justice Department would have closed the case against Boeing if it was determined the company had upheld its end of the agreement. But in May, federal prosecutors wrote that Boeing “breached its obligations” and allegedly failed to “design, implement, and enforce a compliance and ethics program to prevent and detect violations of the U.S. fraud laws throughout its operations.” Boeing responded in June, telling the Department of Justice it had followed the terms of the deal and disagreed it had violated the agreement. While the agreement came about following the two 737 Max crashes, which killed a total of 346 people, Boeing has encountered other issues with its planes since then. In January of this year, the cabin door of an Alaska Airlines plane blew off mid-flight. In March, a person familiar with the matter confirmed to CBS News that prosecutors were looking into whether the blowout might affect the deferred prosecution agreement. US prosecutors recommend Justice Dept. criminally charge Boeing https://t.co/MNKCQoCed3 pic.twitter.com/04Xdei6bn5 — Reuters U.S. News (@ReutersUS) June 24, 2024 Reuters reports: The sources did not specify what criminal charges Justice Department officials are considering, but one of the people said they could extend beyond the original 2021 fraud conspiracy charge. Alternatively, instead of prosecuting Boeing, the DOJ could extend the 2021 settlement by a year or propose new, stricter terms, the sources said. In addition to financial penalties, the strictest settlements typically involve installing a third party to monitor a company’s compliance. The DOJ can also require the company to admit its wrongdoing by pleading guilty. Boeing may be willing to pay a penalty and agree to a monitor, but believes a guilty plea, which typically incurs additional business restrictions, could be too damaging, said one of the sources. Boeing derives significant revenue from contracts with the U.S. government, including the Defense Department, which could be jeopardized by a felony conviction, one of the sources said. Relatives of the victims of the two fatal 737 MAX crashes have long criticized the 2021 agreement, arguing that Justice Department officials should have prosecuted the company and its executives. At a Senate hearing in June, Chief Executive Dave Calhoun acknowledged the company’s shortcomings on safety and apologized to the families who lost loved ones. Last week, the families pressed prosecutors to seek a fine against the planemaker of nearly $25 billion and move forward with a criminal prosecution.

Over 20 Workers Die In Fire At Lithium Battery Manufacturing Factory

More than 20 workers passed away after a fire at a lithium battery manufacturing factory near South Korea’s capital on Monday. Officials reportedly said 22 workers died in the incident, which included mostly Chinese migrant workers. “The dead included 18 Chinese, two South Koreans and one Laotian, local fire official Kim Jin-young told a televised briefing,” the Associated Press noted. The nationality of at least one other deceased individual couldn’t be immediately determined. WATCH: NET ZERO – BREAKING: South Korea. Kim said a witness told authorities that the fire began after batteries exploded as workers were examining and packaging them, but the exact cause would be investigated. Kim said those found dead likely failed to escape via stairs to the ground. He said officials would investigate whether fire extinguishing systems worked as designed. He said a total of 102 people were working at the factory when the fire occurred. Live video broadcast by South Korean television showed firefighters dousing the heavily damaged steel and concrete building, and parts of the upper floor had completely collapsed, with large chunks of concrete seemingly blown out into the street by the force of an explosion. A lithium battery factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, caught fire and exploded this morning, killing at least 22 people, including 18 Chinese citizens. More than 35,000 finished lithium batteries were stored in the building that caught fire. pic.twitter.com/9lTcfoS2Cb — Inconvenient Truths by Jennifer Zeng (@jenniferzeng97) June 24, 2024 22 dead after lithium battery plant fire in South Korea: ‘Not enough time to respond’ https://t.co/17t0d714TE pic.twitter.com/r0thqsfBor — New York Post (@nypost) June 24, 2024 From the Associated Press: The fire started at one of the factory buildings owned by a battery manufacturer, Aricell. He said that authorities would investigate whether fire extinguishing systems were at the site and if they worked. Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are ubiquitous in consumer goods from laptops to cellphones. They can overheat if damaged, defective or packaged improperly, leading to fires and explosions and making them a hazard for shipment aboard aircraft. The video of the incident showed the factory’s second floor being engulfed with blaze, about 15 seconds after a small amount of white smoke was seen billowing from a battery, senior fire official Jo Seon-ho told a briefing later Monday. Jo, citing the footage, said workers at the site mobilized fire extinguishers but failed to put out the blaze. They later rushed to an area where there was no exit before they likely inhaled toxic smoke and lost their consciousness, he said. The dead foreign workers were daily laborers so they were not likely familiar with the building’s internal structure, he added.
