Keeping men out of women’s sports is smart policy and smart politics. Just look at what happened recently in Nevada.  Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo recently rolled out the Protect Girls’ Sports initiative. As the name implies, he wants to amend the Nevada Constitution to keep biological boys and men from participating in girls and women’s sports. While the exact language hasn’t been released, this is fantastic news.   In Fall 2024, the University of Nevada, Reno’s volleyball team was scheduled to play against San Jose State. The problem was that the San Jose State team included Blaire Fleming, a man pretending to be a woman. One of Fleming’s own teammates, Brooke Slusser, described Fleming’s hits as “scary.” Slusser believed “that Fleming’s spikes significantly increased the risk of her, teammates and opponents being concussed,” according to a lawsuit.   None of this is shocking because, as a group, men are stronger than women. Now, an individual female athlete may be stronger than an individual man. But she’s not stronger than top male athletes—or even middling ones.  This was the impetus behind the push to expand women’s sports. Women couldn’t compete with men, but allowing women to compete against other women created a level playing field.   This is all so obvious that it didn’t used to have to be explained. But the Left now wants society to believe that men who pretend to be women are women. Never mind the logical contradictions here, which produce absurdities like leftists refusing to define the word “woman.”   This larger debate is why the UNR volleyball team faced a choice they never should have had to make. In fall 2024, they courageously decided to forfeit their match to highlight the injustice of being forced to play against a male opponent.  Since then, Nevada has made some progress. Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony, Sarah Johnson, who used to work for Anthony, and Marshi Smith, founder of ICONS, among many others, have done outstanding work on this issue. As a result, the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association moved in April to keep boys out of girls’ sports. But a constitutional amendment would make this protection more permanent.   You can tell this idea is popular by the response of Nevada Attorney General and Democrat gubernatorial candidate Aaron Ford.   “To all transgender Nevadans: we see you, we hear you, and we will fight by your side,” he wrote on X in 2018. He continued, “We stand with you.”  But when asked about this initiative, he said, “I personally do not support trans athletes competing in sports opposite their gender assigned at birth.”  Ford will stand with you right until doing so costs him electorally. Just look at his on-again, off-again support for making Nevada a sanctuary state.   Perhaps the reason Ford flip-flops so much is that he wants to make sure he has the right footwear for his next lobbyist-funded junket.  It’s doubtful that Ford is being direct with voters. In 2023, he signed Nevada on to an amicus brief that sought to help biological boys “participate on their school’s girls’ sports teams.” In 2022, Ford joined a lawsuit seeking to overturn an Arkansas law banning genital mutilation surgery.   It appears he wants voters to think he supports protecting girls’ sports while using his authority to do the opposite. Typical politician.  But Ford’s latest flip-flop is still revealing. A member of the Los Valerosos Motorcycle Gang, a support club affiliated with the Pagans Motorcycle Gang, has admitted his role in a violent ambush targeting a rival biker. Graham S. Gattis, also known as “Dro,” 41, of East Ridge, Tennessee, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Greg Kays to two federal charges: assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering and possession of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. The incident occurred Sept. 17, 2022, in Blue Springs, Missouri. Court records show Gattis and multiple members of the Pagans and Los Valerosos motorcycle clubs pursued a lone member of a rival group, forcing him off the roadway. Several of the attackers were armed with firearms, and at least one carried an axe handle. After the victim was run off the road, Gattis and others confronted him along the shoulder of the roadway. During the encounter, the victim was shot seven times, sustaining gunshot wounds to his knee, thigh, forearm, biceps, buttocks, and the back of his leg. MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – Magic City Harley-Davidson announced on Saturday they would be closing their doors after 13 years in business. The motorcycle dealership shared a statement on social media saying they would be winding down operations around the end of March. In the post, the dealership did not provide specifics on why they are closing but said the ‘decision was not made lightly.’ The shop confirmed the post with Your News Leader but could not provide further comment. The dealership moved to its current location on Highway 83 just south of town in 2017. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched a statewide investigation into major grocery chains accused of spraying pesticides on organic fruits and vegetables without informing consumers. The unnamed grocery stores allegedly used pesticides on organic produce “in-store but fail to disclose this practice to consumers,” a press release from Paxton’s office read. “The pesticide at issue is Produce Maxx, an EPA-registered antimicrobial pesticide containing high concentrations of hypochlorous acid—a form of chlorine. Thousands of stores across the United States spray it on produce through misting systems to control bacteria and extend shelf life,” the press release continued. “It’s not only wrong for grocers to mislead consumers about chemicals being sprayed on their food—it may very well be illegal,” Paxton wrote on X. However, the release states that these major grocers are not informing customers that organic produce must be washed before consumption, even though federal law requires produce sprayed with chlorine to be rinsed with drinking water in order to maintain USDA organic certification. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton alleges that the grocery stores conceal their misting equipment and Produce Maxx containers from public view and provide no signage or warning labels informing customers of the pesticide treatment or the need to wash organic produce. “Attorney General Paxton is demanding that if Texas grocery stores continue using antimicrobial pesticides like Produce Maxx, they must, at minimum, install clear signage informing consumers that their produce has been sprayed with a pesticide and include instructions to rinse before consumption in accordance with federal law and USDA guidelines,” the press release read. The state of Minnesota along with the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul have now launched a lawsuit against the federal government in an attempt to stop the surge of immigration authorities. They also ask the court for a temporary restraining order, citing the immediate harm the state and cities are facing. In December 2025, the federal government initiated “Operation Metro Surge,” during which thousands of armed and masked DHS agents — including from Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) — have stormed the Twin Cities to conduct militarized raids and carry out dangerous, illegal, and unconstitutional stops and arrests, all under the guise of lawful immigration enforcement. DHS agents have brazenly and repeatedly deployed excessive force against the people of Minnesota, spreading terror throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. This surge has resulted in tangible harm to the state of Minnesota and its people, as well as the cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. As a result of this surge, municipalities have been forced to divert local law enforcement resources away from their normal public safety duties, emergency responder resources have been strained, schools have been forced into lockdowns and closures, businesses have been forced to close, and the rights of Minnesotans have been violated time and time again. The State and the cities allege the surge amounts to a violation of the First and Tenth Amendments of the Constitution, as well as the Constitution’s guarantee of equal sovereignty between state and federal governments. They also allege the surge violates the Administrative Procedure Act. The State and the cities seek an end to Operation Metro Surge and the deployments of thousands of DHS agents to Minnesota, as well as an end to the unlawful behaviors of DHS agents within the state, including but not limited to: using force against individuals peacefully engaging in constitutionally protected speech; arresting, threatening and using force against innocent bystanders; pointing firearms at individuals who pose no threat to DHS agents; and carrying out enforcement actions at sensitive locations like schools, churches, hospitals. “The unlawful deployment of thousands of armed, masked, and poorly trained federal agents is hurting Minnesota,” said Attorney General Ellison. “People are being racially profiled, harassed, terrorized, and assaulted. The fact that they're suing the government in the first place is proof that the immigration operation in Minnesota is working -- too well! Since more federal agents surged into Minnesota last month, over 2,000 arrests have been made, so far. The New York Post has more: The Department of Homeland Security says it’s surging more than 2,000 immigration officers into Minnesota, and that it has made more than 2,000 arrests in the city since the push began last month. ICE has called the Minnesota surge its largest enforcement operation ever. The lawsuit alleges that Operation Metro Surge violates federal law because it’s arbitrary and capricious, since it says other states aren’t seeing commensurate crackdowns. And while the Trump administration says it’s about fighting fraud, the lawsuit says ICE agents have no expertise in combatting fraud in government programs. The lawsuit says the federal government is really targeting Minnesota over politics, which it says is a violation of the First Amendment. And, this is only the beginning. In the wake of widespread protests in Minneapolis after Renee Good was killed in self defense by an ICE agent she almost murdered, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is deploying even more agents into the state. NBC News noted: The complaint was filed one day after Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said that hundreds more federal officers are heading to the state amid protests over the killing of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent. Noem said that the federal operation in the state is now focused not just on targeting alleged violations of immigration law but on tackling ICE-related protests. Noem has described Good, a prize-winning poet, as a terrorist who “weaponized” her vehicle against the ICE officer who fatally shot her in self-defense. Local and state officials have disputed that claim, saying that Good, 37, was only trying to leave the scene and calling federal officials’ characterization “propaganda.” Now, let's hope some left-wing activist kook of a judge doesn't try to block the long overdue immigration crackdown in Minnesota from continuing.
