Rikki Lake Fan Tracks Down Talk Show Host to Return Family Heirlooms She Found at a Flea Market

We love a good reunion episode, and this one stars Rikki Lake. And no, we’re not talking about a Hairspray remake or the reincarnation of her 1990s talk show. But hey, we can dream, right? This reunion came about through a lucky find at the Pasadena City College Flea Market. Patty Scanlon shared photos on Instagram on December 7 of a large box filled with photos of Rikki Lake and her family. “Anybody know how to contact Ricki Lake? I picked up some found photos at Pasadena City College Flea Market and the box seems to be full of A LOT of photos of #Rickilake @rickilake ! I think she may WANT these. She may not have copies! Thank you!!!!” Patty wrote. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Patricia Scanlon (@patty_scanlon) Rikki Lake’s Friends Immediately Began Tagging Her Patty’s post took off, and fans and friends hunted Rikki Lake down to share the good news. Together and on an Instagram live. Rikki, who lost everything when wildfires destroyed her Malibu home nearly a year ago, couldn’t believe her luck. The photos include family heirlooms and shots of Rikki with her toddlers, who are now adults.   “It was such heartache and such a painful thing to come to terms with that all of these memories were no longer in front of me…but the fact you found these is unbelievable,” Rikki said. The former talk show host admitted she has no idea how the photos ended up at the flea market in the first place, but she feels so blessed to have them back. Patty told Rikki Lake there were many boxes at the flea market, and she just might be able to find more of her things there. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ricki Lake (@rickilake) “Literally in tears watching this when you’ve given up and surrendered, God will bring you a blessing to remind you things always work out,” a fan wrote. “It was just so RAD to catch the live this morning after I saw the post last night! this story make me SO happy! Now they’re forever friends,” another person agreed. We love this for Rikki Lake. In a world full of Karens, be a Patty Scanlon. This story’s featured image can be found here.

MS NOW Plugs Reverend and 'Grandmother' Who Stalks ICE, Invokes the Holocaust

On Tuesday afternoon's Chris Jansing Reports, MS NOW promoted a liberal activist who stalks immigration agents so she can warn illegal aliens of their presence and keep them from being arrested. She also made the left's latest reference to Nazi Germany by invoking Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. Jansing set up the piece by touting the "grandmother" who is trying to undermine federal agents: In New Orleans heightened fear as federal agents enforce President Trump's immigration crackdown. But one local grandmother is rolling up her sleeves and pushing back: 71-year-old Reverend Jane Mauldin says her faith drives her to keep her community informed and safe, so she trails ICE agents patrolling the city's streets, alerting people of their whereabouts on social media. She then brought aboard reporter Alex Tabet to discuss a "ride-along" that he was doing with 71-year-old Unitarian pastor Jane Mauldin and to speak with her live. The MS NOW reporter filled in viewers: Well, Chris, Reverend Jane Mauldin is having an absolutely massive impact here in the New Orleans area. She's doing what so many others are doing here, which is ICE-verifying, ICE spotting as it's called. And the way that it works is that you're in a Facebook group, you're in a WhatsApp group, you'll hear an eyewitness report of a potential federal agent in the area. And she'll go and drive to that area, take a picture of a car that she suspects to be ICE, report it back into those Facebook groups, into those WhatsApp groups, as a means of letting the community know to shelter in place and to stay safe, but also by letting DHS and ICE know that they're being watched. No concern was shown about whether federal agents are endangered by their locations being made public by such actions. And at one point, Reverend Mauldin tried to tie in Nazi Germany by quoting Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel: TABET: Why is it so important for you to be doing what you're doing? And how does your faith drive what you're doing here today? REVEREND MAULDIN: Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel said, "The opposite of love is not hatred, it is indifference." And I believe my faith in action drives me to love, to be present, to witness and care for my neighbors. And I love my country dearly. I want my children, my grandchildren and their grandchildren to have the similar democracy to what I have. And if I don't act now by helping to protect my neighbors, then it will be gone. A bit later, she hyperbolically accused ICE of kidnapping people: When vehicles -- when people like this want to abduct and kidnap my neighbors with no reason to do so other than the color of their skin, that is not America. That is not what I believe. I believe we are all brothers and sisters and care for one another. And I'm trying to do my part right now as are thousands across New Orleans area. Tabet is a journalist who has a history of showing sympathy of such liberal activism. On the November 18 Ana Cabrera Reports, he hugged an activist in Charlotte who helps run a group that provides food to immigrants who want to stay indoors to avoid immigration agents. Transcripts follow: MS NOW's Chris Jansing Reports December 9, 2025 12:44 p.m. Eastern CHRIS JANSING: In New Orleans heightened fear as federal agents enforce President Trump's immigration crackdown. But one local grandmother is rolling up her sleeves and pushing back: 71-year-old Reverend Jane Mauldin says her faith drives her to keep her community informed and safe, so she trails ICE agents patrolling the city's streets, alerting people of their whereabouts on social media. MS NOW reporter Alex Tabet is in Louisiana for us, and I know you're with the reverend in a ride-along right now, so talk to us, what you're seeing and what she's telling you. ALEX TABET: Well, Chris, Reverend Jane Mauldin is having an absolutely massive impact here in the New Orleans area. And we're actually at the scene of one of these reports right now with Reverend Jane Mauldin. Reverend Jane, why do you suspect that that car that we can see right there -- why do you suspect that might belong to DHS or to ICE? REVEREND JANE MAULDIN, UNITARIAN PASTOR: I have seen many confirmed DHS ICE vehicles over the last week. They all fit the same mold. Large SUV, usually white or black, fully dark-tinted windows with out-of-state license plates in strange places where they have no obvious reason to be. This fits that mold. TABET: And Reverend Mauldin, you're 71 years old, you have four grandchildren. You have a lot on your plate. Why is it so important for you to be doing what you're doing? And how does your faith drive what you're doing here today? REVEREND MAULDIN: Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel said, "The opposite of love is not hatred, it is indifference." And I believe my faith in action drives me to love, to be present, to witness and care for my neighbors. And I love my country dearly. I want my children, my grandchildren and their grandchildren to have the similar democracy to what I have. And if I don't act now by helping to protect my neighbors, then it will be gone. TABET: Reverend Mauldin, thank you so much, Chris. I'll toss it back to you. JANSING: And, Alex, I know they're telling us to toss it back, but I have to ask her what the reaction has been, what she's seeing, and does she feel she's making a difference? TABET: Our anchor is wondering -- Chris Jansing is wondering, what have you been seeing in your community? And do you feel that you're making this difference? REVEREND MAULDIN: Absolutely. I feel I'm making a difference. There are hundreds, probably thousands of people in the New Orleans metro area who are organized to help provide food and services -- to watch for ICE vehicles, and alert our neighbors so they can make decisions to help keep themselves and their families safe. There are so many layers of care happening in our community. It has exploded with care and love and compassion. This is truly a city, a metro area that loves each other, and I'm making a difference by just being one small part of that to help people stay safe. When vehicles -- when people like this want to abduct and kidnap my neighbors with no reason to do so other than the color of their skin, that is not America. That is not what I believe. I believe we are all brothers and sisters and care for one another. And I'm trying to do my part right now as are thousands across New Orleans area. TABET: Reverend Mauldin, thank you so much. JANSING: Alex, thank you for bringing it to us. We greatly appreciate it. (...) MS NOW's Ana Cabrera Reports November 18, 2025 11:37 a.m. ALEX TABET: Now, just 30 minutes ago, Border Patrol agents were spotted on the premises right here at a nonprofit in Charlotte which provides child care services for refugee families and for immigrant families. And it really caused quite a fear. It's the second time this week they were spotted here, but that is not scaring the volunteers here from pushing forward. They're continuing to gather donations of essential goods like water, like milk -- everyday items that families need to feed themselves -- to feed their children that they are afraid to go outside of their homes and get all throughout this city of Charlotte, given the uncertainty of the repercussions. (...) Just break down what happened just a half hour ago. How is it impacting you personally? And how is it impacting the children who you service. SALMA VILLARREAL, OURBRIDGE FOR KIDS: Yeah, so, within 24 hours, Custom and Border Patrol has had to enter the properties that host all of these nonprofits that support immigrants three or four times. And they have one goal: to instill fear -- to make the places that our community felt the most safe in not be safe anymore. That is what they're doing, and so, personally, you know, myself, it's -- its disheartening -- it's heartbreaking to see what's going on, but it's just making our team more resolved and continuing to support our community and continuing to fight for justice and for what's right. And it's making our community scared -- like our spaces are spaces where we fight so hard that every family -- every child feels safe and welcomed and loved. And now they're hearing that ICE was at Ourbridge -- ICE was here, ICE was there -- the places that they felt the most safe in. And so we're hearing from our kids that they're scared. They're confused. Kids don't know these names. They just know that there's people out there who want to take them away from their parents. And so now we have to do that work to try to help them heal and help them feel safe again in this city. But we have so many people like you said who are doing just that. TABET: Salma, thank you. Can I give you a hug? VILLARREAL: Yeah. TABET: And, as Salma noted, they've been working hard all day. Their goal is to send food and medicine to at least 150 families across the city of Charlotte, Ana.

'Liar Country'? CBS's 'Fire Country' Blames CA Wildfires on Climate Change, Not Human Causes

CBS’s drama Fire Country, now in its fourth season, is set in the fictional town of Edgewater, California. So, it was only a matter of time before we got hit with the, “it’s climate change, not liberal bureaucracy,” excuse for the state’s ongoing, real-life problem of severe wildfires. Episode 7, “Best Mom in the World,” featured a meeting between fire chief Manny (Kevin Alejandro) and his crew where Manny imparted lessons he learned at a fire training session in Sacramento. The team had recently battled a massive fire that was difficult to control and claimed many lives and homes. Manny warned his crew that, “Thanks to climate change,” they’re “at war,” and they need to be prepared because the fires are going to get much worse: Manny: All right, everyone, sit down. As you all know, I went down to Sacramento for a couple of days to do some training, and they put me in this presentation about fire season. Well, we all know damn well there is no fire season anymore. Thanks to climate change, it's all year round. Just keeps getting worse. Last year, little more than 8,000 wildfires and over a million acres burned. Here in NorCal, we had Zabel Ridge. And we lived it, and we fought it. We saw this. It took land. It took homes. And lives. Right now, snowcap's at 30% of normal, which means we're gonna have a really dry spring. And if we don't get significant, and I mean significant, winter storms, they're saying it's about to look like this. So, we got to be ready, guys. We were this close, this close to losing our town. But this? This will make the Zabel Ridge Fire look like a baby. We cannot wait for it. We have to act. Now. I'm talking resources, I'm talking training. I'm talking, whatever you got going on, set it down. Single focus, no distractions. Because what's coming ain't stopping for nothing. We're at war. Umm, did Gavin Newsom write this episode? When Manny’s division chief chastised him for his “death is imminent,” and “everyone should panic,” messaging because she believes he shouldn’t give the firefighters the full picture all at once, Manny clapped back with, “That’s science…the mother of all fires will come.” Sure, Manny. Liar, liar, pants on fire (pun intended). Let’s just ignore the fact that liberal California politicians have spent decades banning controlled burns and shutting down logging and grazing that used to clear deadwood, all while chasing carbon credits. It’s not about “science.” It’s about government bureaucracy protecting areas of “habitat” where 100 million dead trees remain unremoved, just waiting to become potent tinder for the next massive wildfire. Poor forest management has led to this excessive fuel buildup (dead wood, underbrush, and dense vegetation), making fires more intense when they occur. As for the “snowcaps” (the proper term is “snowpacks”), California weather has alternated between drought and deluge for centuries. The 0.8°C of warming since 1880 isn’t to blame here. Lastly, most of the “8,000 wildfires” mentioned were ignited by homeless encampments, downed PG&E lines (thanks to shifting focus onto green-energy incentives), arsonists, and other man-made causes. Combined with unmanaged fuels, these incidents increase the severity and frequency of fires more than miniscule temperature changes. “Climate change” is just a copout for liberal politicians like Newsom who want to shift the blame from themselves and their horrible policies. Too bad Fire Country chose to give cover to such liberal bureaucracy rather than emphasize the real problems with, and causes behind, California wildfires.

Inside The Tragic Stories Of The Eight U.S. Presidents Who Have Died In Office

When William McKinley appeared at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York, on Sept. 6, 1901, no one expected that the visit would change history. The president had traveled to Buffalo to examine the latest technologies of the day and to give a speech about trade and tariffs. But that afternoon, McKinley became one of the eight presidents who died in office when he was fatally shot by assassin Leon Czolgosz. By the time McKinley was killed on that late summer day in 1901, four other presidents had died before their term was complete. Two had been killed by assassins, and two had perished from natural causes. And in the following century, three more presidents would lose their lives. These are the stories of the presidents who died in office — and how the nation changed in the wake of their sudden demises. William Henry Harrison, The President Who Died In Office Just Weeks Into His Term Public DomainWilliam Henry Harrison in an 1840 portrait. He died the following year. William Henry Harrison is famous for one thing: dying. A war hero known as “Tippecanoe,” Harrison was elected in 1840 after a raucous campaign against the incumbent president, Martin Van Buren. Harrison was mocked for his age during the campaign — he was then in his late 60s — but a newspaper attack that suggested he should retire to a “log cabin” with a “barrel of hard cider” made Harrison more appealing to voters than Van Buren, who was painted as out of touch. Ironically, it was Harrison who came from a privileged background and Van Buren who had more humble roots. But Harrison was nevertheless elected president in a landslide victory. Harrison began to prepare for his presidency, which would begin that March, shortly after his 68th birthday. On March 4, 1841, the day of Harrison’s inauguration, the new president gave the longest inaugural address in U.S. history. It was 8,445 words, and it took him almost two hours to deliver it while standing in the chill of a Washington, D.C. winter wearing no gloves or hat. Despite the length of his speech, Harrison’s term would turn out to be the shortest in American history. Public DomainA depiction of William Henry Harrison’s inauguration, during which the new president gave the longest inaugural speech in American history. Just weeks later, on March 27, 1841, reports spread that the new president had fallen ill. Just days later, on April 4, William Henry Harrison died. According to a report from Harrison’s physicians, the president had been “seized with a chill and other symptoms of fever” that progressed into pneumonia. Because of Harrison’s age, the doctors hesitated to treat him with “blood letting,” though they did give him opium and laxatives. After suffering from “profuse diarrhea,” the president died. His death ushered in an era of uncertainty, as no president had ever died in office before. Some believed that his vice president, John Tyler, should merely be an “acting president” until the nation could hold elections. However, Tyler forcefully took command of the presidency, setting an important precedent for the powers of the vice president. Public DomainA depiction of John Tyler, William Henry Harrison’s vice president, learning of the president’s death. In the years since, a story has developed that William Henry Harrison died from pneumonia that he possibly caught during his long inaugural address. However, some scholars have argued that the president actually caught enteric or typhoid fever from Washington, D.C.’s poor water supply. They argue that it wasn’t all that cold on the day that Harrison gave his address (an estimated 48 degrees Fahrenheit) and that it wouldn’t make sense for his symptoms to appear three weeks later. Whatever his cause of death, William Henry Harrison became the first U.S. president who died in office. But he would not be the last.
