President Donald Trump advised young people during an interview with boxer Jake Paul to follow a career path where they’ll do something they’ll love. Paul interviewed Trump on his YouTube channel ahead of joining the president onstage at his Kentucky rally on Wednesday, where Trump endorsed Paul’s run for political office, despite Paul not having declared a campaign. “You’ve got to do something you like, or you’re just not going to be successful at it,” Trump said in the interview. “With that being said, try liking something where there’s a future.” Trump pointed out that artificial intelligence is the “hot thing” right now.  “If you know the AI thing, you’re going to get an unbelievable, crazy job with ridiculous numbers, numbers you never thought of,” Trump said. “That could cool off, maybe it’s going to cool off, but right now, so if you like computers and all that, it’s not a bad thing.”  The president recommended young people try to “love something” with “potential.”  “There are some industries that are tough. If you love it, do it,” Trump said. “But if you can love something where it’s got a lot of potential, you’re much better off doing that.”  Along with career advice, Paul questioned Trump on the Iran war, the launch of the president’s political career, and capturing former Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.  The Paul family has a history with the president before Paul joined Trump in Kentucky. Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul, interviewed Trump ahead of the 2024 election on his podcast, Impaulsive.  Jake Paul praised the president for his outreach to young voters by going on his brother’s podcast and others, such as The Joe Rogan Experience. Trump said his son, Barron Trump, encouraged him to reach voters in the developing podcast world.  “My son Barron, very tall son, and he’s a smart guy and a good kid, but he listens to [Jake Paul]. The first time I ever heard [of Jake Paul] was through my son,” Trump said. “But he would give me some names that I never heard of, and they were very important.”  “Republicans, for whatever reason, don’t do OK with youth, and I did unbelievably,” Trump added.  While the professional boxer has expressed his political opinions and supported the president online, Paul has not announced a political campaign.  However, Paul did reveal in the interview that he wants to “get more into this world” of politics because it’s the “biggest way” to make an impact, and questioned the president on his jump from business to politics.  TRUMP SIGNS PAIR OF EXECUTIVE ORDERS AIMED AT FIGHTING HOUSING CRISIS When Trump asked Paul if he would ever run for office, the professional boxer said he thinks so. Trump said he went into politics because he “had to do it,” saying he thought about it for “years” before launching his successful 2016 presidential campaign.
