Jelly Roll Breaks Down In Tears After Getting Invited To Join The Grand Ole Opry On Joe Rogan’s Podcast

What a moment. It’s been a pretty big year for Jelly Roll. Beyond the fact he recently scored three of the most-played songs on country radio in 2025 with the likes of “I Am Not Okay,” “Liar” and “Heart of Stone, he also received a #1 on both of Billboard’s religious charts, Hot Christian and Christian Airplay, en route to being crowned the #1 Christian song of 2025 with his appearance on Brandon Lake’s “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” Couple those major chart accomplishments with his continued supporting role on Post Malone’s international Big A** Stadium Tour throughout the year, and it’s safe to say that Jelly Roll has now established himself as one of the biggest stars in the genre today. Of couse, that’s not even mentioning his powerful testimonies and charity work outside of the studio and stage, something that has been a big draw to plenty of his fans. Simply put, regardless of whether you’re a fan of Jelly’s musical output, you simply cannot deny the impact he’s had on the lives of seemingly millions of people. To cap off his huge year, today, the “Save Me” singer made an apperarance on The Joe Rogan Experience, marking his first-ever appearance on the massive podcast. And while it’s safe to say there’s hardly a boring episode in existence from Rogan, Jelly’s apperance ended up being one of the most memorable to date. After beginning the podcast with an in-depth discussion about his truly impressive weight-loss journey, which has resulted in the former rapper-turned-country-star lose over 300 pounds, at the very end of the episode, Rogan dropped the bomb that Jelly Roll will officially be joining the Grand Ole Opry as an official member. View this post on Instagram Stopping the podcast for a moment, Rogan would play a video from fellow member, Craig Morgan, who formally invited him to join the Opry, noting that Morgan wanted Rogan to play the video on the podcast. In the video, the “This Ain’t Nothing” singer would tell Jelly Roll: “Congratulations on all the great things happening in your career, and to thank you for the positive difference you’re making in the lives of so many people who need the help. You’re doing great work, buddy, and I’ll never forget meeting you on the Grand Ole Opry and how much it meant to me to hear you say my music helped you get through some really tough times. That’s something country music does really well. And who would have ever dreamed back then that I’d be back at the Opry house today to say, ‘Jelly Roll, you’re officially invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.’ It’s an honor to say, ‘Welcome to the family, brother.'” Immediately, the “Liar” singer would break down in tears, hands in face. After wiping away his tears of joy, he’d immediately ask Rogan for a hug. While the two embraced, Jelly would tell Rogan, “I love you,” as the two shared the emotional moment together. Still in tears, he would reflect on just how much the Opry invitation means to him, also noting that he’d listen to Morgan’s song, “Almost Home,” while he was in jail. “It don’t get no bigger in country music, bubba… The Grand Ole Opry, dog? I used to buy tickets to go there… I Googled Craig Morgan’s “Almost Home” in jail… And it’s the most tear-jerking song about a homeless man. And it just reminded me of jail, no matter where you are, the mind’s strong.” Jelly would then recall an emotional moment seeing Morgan perform the song live at the Opry while still wearing an ankle monitor after getting released from jail, noting how much he cried after hearing the song live. He’d also share that his main goal of making music was to make people feel the emotions and eventual validation he felt while listening to “Almost Home.” “I want to make people the way he [Morgan] makes me feel. That’s what I want to do.” Rogan would immediately validate his feelings telling him, obviously, that he has touched a countless number of people through his music before Jelly would emphatically tell him: “We did it Joe!” The 41-year-old singer/songwriter would also joke to Rogan that he was the first person to ever be invited to join the Grand Ole Opry on a podcast before the two would share an other emotional reflection on their friendship. It’s truly one of those moments where an article and words don’t truly do the raw, emotional moment justice. Though I tried my best here, the best way to experience this momumental achievement for Jelly Roll would be to watch it for yourself. Mother Arrested For Pretending To Be Luke Bryan To Stage Fake Kidnapping Of Her Mentally Disabled Daughter

You know how we always tell you not to message with people claiming to be celebrities online? Well this mother landed behind bars for going to some pretty extreme lengths to teach that lesson to her daughter. In a wild story out of Arkansas, 59-year old Tamara “Tammi” Hamby was arrested recently after a bizarre plot that involved faking the kidnapping of her mentally disabled daughter, reportedly to teach her a lesson about why she shouldn’t talk to strangers online. According to 5news, deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a kidnapping involving Hamby’s 22-year old daughter. But as it turns out, it was all a scheme orchestrated by Hamby, who enlisted others to pretend to be someone associated with country singer Luke Bryan online to organize a meetup. The group then planned to have someone pick up Hamby’s daughter and take her to a field, where they would tie her to a tree before demanding money. At that point, the mother would then show up to “rescue” her kidnapped daughter. Court records allege that Hamby contacted Shannon Yazmin Yvonne Childers, who was the daughter’s in-home nursing assistant, to help with the plan, and Childers then recruited David Qbao Quach and Nico Austria to show up to the home wearing a ski mask and “kidnap” the daughter. The plan didn’t work out because Hamby’s daughter reportedly broke free after being zip-tied to a tree and was able to escape on her own before calling 911 to report that she had been kidnapped. According to deputies, the daughter “was in fear for her life and clung tightly to a teddy bear the entirety of me speaking with her during her interview.” The Arkansas Department of Human Services has reportedly filed a petition for emergency custody of Hamby’s daughter, and the mother has since resigned her position as a member of the Crawford County Library Board. All four involved in the plot were arrested and charged with kidnapping and endangering the welfare of an incompetent person in the first degree, while Hemby was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, abuse of an endangered adult or impaired person, battery, and terroristic threatening. Speaking on the case, Hamby’s husband Jeffrey, who’s a doctor in Arkansas, says that his wife was simply trying to teach their daughter a lesson after she was found talking to a scammer pretending to be the country singer online: “The predator developed a relationship with her, and he said he was Luke Bryan, the singer. And my daughter adores him. So, over the last six months, he’s developed somewhat of a trauma bond, now that we’ve been able to see the chats and the messages, and he was attempting to obtain her or get her.” The predator reportedly kept finding ways to contact the daughter even after her parents took her devices away, and that they contacted local police who were able to trace the scammer’s phone number to Nigeria. “We tried everything, and she has not stopped communicating with him, and he was going to get her. He was going to take her. And so, my wife, without my knowledge, with her aide and a couple of their friends, tried to do an intervention… Now DHS has taken my daughter from me, and my wife is arrested for trying to do the right thing, for trying to save my daughter, who has never known evil, has been sheltered all of her life, and we couldn’t talk her into understanding that danger existed, and so we wanted to show her that evil does exist, and now she’s in DHS custody, and my wife is facing jail time.” The husband admits that the plot was “really poorly executed” and “ill-conceived,” but insists that his wife’s heart was in the right place and says that he’s upset that she’s being “disparaged” in the media. But Crawford County prosecutor Kevin Holmes disagrees, saying that the group weren’t “hardened criminals” but they have to face the consequences of their poor decision making: “Listen, these aren’t hardened criminals. These aren’t people that have a have any criminal record whatsoever. But I mean, they made horrible decisions, and those decisions have consequences.” Yeah, not the most well-thought out plan. If somebody’s talking to people they shouldn’t be online, wouldn’t the best plan to just be…cut off their access to the internet? Either way, just another reminder: Stop talking to people who claim to be celebrities online. They’re scammers 100% of the time, probably from some call center in India or Nigeria, and apparently you may even get kidnapped for talking to them…by your own mother. The post Mother Arrested For Pretending To Be Luke Bryan To Stage Fake Kidnapping Of Her Mentally Disabled Daughter first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Federal judge grants release of more Epstein documents

Sealed grand jury transcripts from Jeffrey Epstein's 2019 sex trafficking case will be made public, a federal judge in New York ruled Wednesday, citing a new law that compels the Department of Justice to make material related to federal investigations of Epstein public. U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman reversed an earlier decision to keep the 2019 grand jury transcripts sealed, joining two other federal judges who moved in recent weeks to grant requests from the Justice Department to unseal case records as mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act...
