Elon Musk Reveals the 9% Cut That Changed EVERYTHING: “The Matrix Was Reprogrammed”

Elon Musk remains every bit the lightning rod he’s always been. But love him or hate him, right now both he and President Trump are celebrating a huge win from DOGE’s push to take out the government trash. Besides the goal of cutting waste and digging up the corruption in the system… Elon’s push to drastically shrink the size of the federal government in keeping with President Trump’s campaign promises can now officially be added to the “PROMISES MADE, PROMISED KEPT” column. According to Musk, this one statistic — which he recently reposted on X — represented the fulfillment of something he has been talking about for a LONG TIME: REPROGRAMMING THE MATRIX. And if things continue in the same direction, we’re on a trajectory that could soon see the US federal workforce drop below what it was in the late 1960’s! Check out this graph initially shared by Jordan Lasker, a data and analytical researcher who operates the popular X account known as Crémieux — which Elon reposted with comment: The matrix was reprogrammed https://t.co/Qrnq0Kd8Kq — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 19, 2025 That represents an approximate 9% REDUCTION in the size of the federal government in terms of employees. But more than that, I want to point out that long before DOGE became a thing… Long before President Trump won in November, 2024… Elon was already talking about REPROGRAMMING THE MATRIX, and imagined it looking exactly like a huge reduction in the size of the federal government! Check out this short clip that pre-dates President Trump’s 2024 win by a full 3 months: That’s the clip that sprung to my mind when I saw Elon’s post touting that “the matrix was reprogrammed”. Even back then, Elon was imagining a government efficiency agency as “attacking the matrix”. Ultimately (based on the incomplete early information we now have…) the government shrank by nearly 300,000 people as a direct result of DOGE, as covered in this report from the New York Post: Tech titan Elon Musk celebrated the year-end success of his efforts to slash the federal workforce, as data show a nearly 9% reduction in the federal workforce that once employed more than 3 million people. “The matrix was reprogrammed,” the former Department of Government Efficiency chief tweeted, highlighting a graph made by Cato Institute economics researcher Krit Chanwong and institute vice president for policy Alex Nowrasteh. The libertarian think-tank reported in a blog post that “a decline that large has not happened since the military demobilizations at the end of World War II and the Korean War.” Bureau of Labor Statistics data maintained online by the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank show that there were 2.744 million federal workers as of November, down from 3.015 million in January when Musk kicked off his chainsaw-wielding DOGE initiative when President Trump re-entered office. The roughly 271,000 people who exited federal roles include about 154,000 who took buyouts and others who were cut through a series of scorched-earth mass-terminations that hit agencies such as the now-eliminated formerly 10,000-man USAID. The civilian workforce has not been less than 2.7 million since 1966 — when the US population was 42% smaller than it is today — meaning that further reductions in Trump could set 60-year lows next year. (Emphasis added.) Did you catch that last part I highlighted in bold? Through DOGE and Elon Musk, President Trump has almost succeeded in reducing the size of the federal government in terms of number of employees to the point that it was at when the overall population of the United States was 42% smaller than it is today. That has to be one of the greatest UNDER RECOGNIZED wins of his Presidency so far! But honestly, there’s an even greater related statistic that came out of the same recent jobs report that President Trump touted yesterday. How about 1.9 million American-born US citizens now have jobs as compared to when he took the oath of office in January? ALL in the private sector! Check out this clip of the President talking about those related numbers: “1.9 million more American-born workers are employed today than when I took office,” says @POTUS. “Under Biden, 1 out of every 4 new jobs went to increase the size of the federal government… Under my administration, 100% of all new jobs created came out of the private sector.” pic.twitter.com/28MbVJB3NZ — Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) November 19, 2025 Here’s the full screen version of that video for easier viewing: “1.9 million more American-born workers are employed today than when I took office,” says @POTUS. “Under Biden, 1 out of every 4 new jobs went to increase the size of the federal government… Under my administration, 100% of all new jobs created came out of the private sector.” pic.twitter.com/28MbVJB3NZ — Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) November 19, 2025 Keep in mind — those 1.9 million jobs weren’t created by expanding the government. They were created IN SPITE of SHRINKING the federal government! Of course, not everything is visibly heading in the right direction. Spending is actually INCREASING; although that is admittedly part of the long-term plan put forward by the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans. I have to admit, that still bothers me.  But I do understand that sometimes you have to FUND a turnaround long enough to keep from stalling out. Obviously, Elon didn’t repost the statistics put forward by some of the folks at the CATO Institute that highlighted those trends. But in the interest of bringing you the good, the bad, and the possibly ugly… here are those numbers from the federal SPENDING angle: “DOGE did not reduce spending, but it did reduce federal employment by nine percent in less than 10 months.” https://t.co/Gy4D52LQhC via @CatoInstitute @AlexNowrasteh pic.twitter.com/vFflFJ14mX — Scott Lincicome (@scottlincicome) December 18, 2025 And here’s more on that side of the coin according to another excerpt from the same previously referenced New York Post article: Musk, who recently rekindled his relationship with Trump after a bitter falling out in June, did not celebrate a less-flattering assessment made by the Cato scholars: that DOGE’s work didn’t result in lower federal spending. In fact, federal spending was higher each month of Trump’s first year back in office than under former President Joe Biden, Chanwong and Nowrasteh found by analyzing Treasury Department monthly statements. The US government has spent $7.6 trillion in 2025 as of November, according to the report, topping $7.412 trillion spent by Biden in the same period in 2024 and exceeding the Democrat’s spending rates in 2023 ($6.5 trillion), 2022 ($6.27 trillion) and 2021 ($6.5 trillion). At least some of the explanation for the higher spending comes from elevated interest rates, which ratcheted higher in 2022 due to soaring inflation and that have slowly trended downward. Trump has vowed to appoint a new Federal Reserve chairman in May who will further cut interest rates, saying publicly it would save the government a fortune due to the fact that 17% of federal spending goes toward serving the national debt. “DOGE failed to cut spending because most federal spending was for entitlement programs where spending remains high due to structural reasons and policy autopilot,” the experts wrote. “Congress alone has the authority to cut these programs, so it’s unsurprising that DOGE did not reduce spending.” (Emphasis added.) As I highlighted in bold, that rise in spending wasn’t PURELY because of the massive “Big Beautiful Bill”. It takes a lot of airspace to turn around an enormous jetliner hurling through the air at hundreds of miles an hour. I don’t know if that means higher spending numbers should get an automatic pass by those of us who consider ourselves conservatives. But at the same time, the reality of the complications in Washington are NOTABLY part of the problem. Hence… why Elon Musk’s reference to “reprogramming the matrix” rings so TRUE and MEANINGFUL to me, in terms of tangibly shrinking the raw number of federal employees. Either way you cut it, from a conservative standpoint, that’s a WIN.  And a BIG ONE at that! You can actually hear Elon philosophizing along those same lines back in the early days of DOGE. Check out this clip when he sat down with Joe Rogan in March, and again… framed shrinking the government as “reprogramming the matrix”: The jobs report where the majority of these statistics became clear came out this past week. And as already alluded to, those numbers may be even more sizable than we know simply because the shutdown created issues with reporting those numbers that haven’t been fully accounted for. That fragmented data has already been highlighted by Fed Chair Jerome Powell who argues that it makes this job report less weighty for the Fed’s current decision-making on interest rates, as reported by The Blaze: Following some significant delays due to the Democrat-imposed government shutdown, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has finally released its long-anticipated jobs report for November and October. On Tuesday, the November jobs report, including partial data from October, was released, showing an unemployment rate at 4.6%, up 0.2 percentage points since September 2025 and up 0.4 percentage points since November of last year. Most of the jobs lost came from the federal government as part of DOGE’s buyout program, which went into effect at the end of September. Government employees who opted into the buyout were still listed as employed until their scheduled exit in October. The new report was originally scheduled to be released on December 5, but the release was delayed due to the 43-day government shutdown which affected data collection for both October and November. Kay Haigh, global co-head of fixed income and liquidity solutions at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, told Fox News: “Chair [Jerome] Powell commented last week that the report would likely be affected by shutdown-related distortions, making it a less reliable gauge of the labor market’s health than usual. The report on December’s employment data, released in early January ahead of the next meeting, will likely be a much more meaningful indicator for the Fed when it comes to deciding the near-term trajectory.” The jobs report for December is set to be published on January 9. President Trump is continuing his push for Fed Chair Jerome Powell to get more aggressive with lower interest rates. Things might therefore get explosive after the more accurate January 9th jobs report drops. With the federal government shrinking… Nearly 2 million more Americans holding private sector jobs than this time last year… And President Trump on the verge of his second year in the White House for his current term… Jerome Powell might find himself under so much pressure from SUCCESSIVE TRUMP WINS that he has no choice but to agree with the President and LOWER INTEREST RATES. Watch for President Trump to find a renewed focus on that front after the first of the year, as that more accurate jobs report drops. And we’ll be sure to bring you all the angles as it plays out.

WATCH: U.S. Coast Guard Seizes SECOND Venezuelan Oil Tanker

This just in: the U.S. Coast Guard has just seized another Venezuelan oil tanker in the Caribbean. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem made the announcement and shared footage of the seizure on social media. Watch here: Backup here if needed: In a pre-dawn action early this morning on Dec. 20, the US Coast Guard with the support of the Department of War apprehended an oil tanker that was last docked in Venezuela. The United States will continue to pursue the illicit movement of sanctioned oil that is used to fund narco terrorism in the region. We will find you, and we will stop you. Thank you to our brave men and women of the @USCG and @DeptofWar . This move comes days after President Trump said he would impose a blockage on sanctioned oil tankers. It also comes after the U.S. Coast Guard seized another oil tanker about a week ago. ABC News has more: This is the second sanctioned vessel seized by the United States. On Dec. 10, an elite U.S. Coast Guard tactical operations team, with the support of U.S. Navy helicopters, boarded and seized The Skipper, an oil tanker sanctioned for being part of an illicit oil operation involving Venezuela… President Donald Trump threatened this week to impose a blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers coming in and out of Venezuela, ratcheting up American pressure on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s regime. “Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled in the History of South America,” Trump wrote in a lengthy post on his social media platform. “It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before.” Maduro said Venezuela would continue to trade oil and that Trump’s “intention” is regime change. “This will just not happen, never, never, never — Venezuela will never be a colony of anything or anyone, never,” he said.

Kittens Arrive at a Foster Home and Meet Residents Who are Ready to Show Them 'How to Cat'

Three kittens arrived at their foster home and met feline residents who were ready to show them "how to cat." Jennifer @newkittensontheblockThree kittens, Cricket, Firefly, and Beetle, came to the Humane Society for Hamilton County in search of a fresh start. With round-the-clock care from a dedicated bottle feeder, they grew bigger and stronger each day. Once fully weaned, the kittens were transferred to Jennifer's home, where her resident cats eagerly awaited their arrival."They are super sweet and playful and want lots of attention," Jennifer shared. "They purred when I talked to them while they were still in their carrier." Jennifer @newkittensontheblockThe trio quickly settled into their new space, but their hearts were set on one thing: their foster mom's undivided attention. The moment Jennifer entered the room, all three erupted into a chorus of meows, standing on their hind legs and begging for affection."They were not pleased when I told them I had to go to bed." Jennifer @newkittensontheblockTheir squeaky meows and nonstop pitter-patter soon caught the attention of the feline residents, Bear and Bodie. The two lingered by the door, ready to invite themselves in to meet the newcomers.Bear and Bodie are used to having foster kittens around. They have helped countless little ones, showing them how to play and teaching them proper feline etiquette. Beetle, Firefly, and CricketJennifer @newkittensontheblockBodie soon made his grand entrance, strutting in with his bushy tail held high. The kittens, who had never encountered a cat his size, were stunned and puffed themselves up in an attempt to look bigger.Firefly, the tortie, and Beetle, the little house panther, "greeted" him with hisses. Bodie, completely unfazed, strolled past them toward the food bowl, as if he knew it was all bark and no bite. Bodie met the foster kittensJennifer @newkittensontheblock"The little love bugs were skeptical when they met Bodie for the first time. They were curious and followed him around while being puffed in the process. Beetle was the most hissy, but she also sometimes hisses at toys while she's playing."Once Bodie settled onto a cat tree, the kittens became mesmerized by his fluffy tail, which swayed back and forth like a glorious duster. Jennifer @newkittensontheblockThey sat shoulder to shoulder, watching intently, until Beetle gathered the courage to make the first move, stretching up on her tiptoes to bat at his tail. "In the end, they discovered that Bodie's tail is not so scary."After a few days, Bear joined in, showing the kittens how to play with toys. The trio followed in his paw steps, imitating him as their confidence grew. Bear and BeetleJennifer @newkittensontheblockFirefly was drawn to the resident cats and curled up beside them for cuddles or grooming sessions."What she loves most of all is love, especially, human affection," Jennifer said. "I could be holding her right up against me, giving her all the snuggles, and she'd still meow at me because she wasn't close enough. All you have to do is look at her to get her purr motor going." Firefly adored Bear and BodieJennifer @newkittensontheblockThe kittens followed the resident cats everywhere, eager for their next adventure. With toys strewn across the room, Bear enjoyed the fun just as much as his little proteges, who watched in awe as he expertly swatted at the feather wand."Bear is really just a giant kitten." Bear is a kitten at heartJennifer @newkittensontheblockWith the guidance of the feline mentors, the kittens blossomed into confident, playful young cats with vibrant personalities. When they were ready for adoption, it didn't take long for all three to find their forever homes in time for Christmas.Bear and Bodie, proud of the role they played, are ready to welcome the next group of foster kittens and teach them "how to cat." Fox's Ingraham & Watters Expose Providence & Brown Officials' Incompetence

Following the deadly mass shooting at Brown University on  December 13th,  it took five full days before police in Salem, New Hampshire found the body of Claudio Manuel Neves-Valente, a Portuguese national, and former student at Brown, who had also shot and killed MIT Professor Nuno Loureiro last Monday in his home in Brookline Massachusetts, in a storage unit in Salem. Disturbing press conferences were held regularly by Providence and Brown officials from the day of the shooting right through to the discovery of the killer's body, which was made possible by information provided by a homeless man. While most in the media accepted what was being said at face value, some, like Jesse Watters and Laura Ingraham of Fox News couldn't hide their disgust at the apparent incompetence and dismissive attitudes of those addressing the media. On last Friday night's edition of The Ingraham Angle, Ingraham let it fly in summing up what viewers had been subjected to for the previous five days. INGRAHAM: Here's a headline for you, "homeless man smarter than high paid officials at Brown University." Now since last Saturday, it's been nothing but a showcase of incompetence. At the state, local and university levels are people who check various boxes but not the one that's labeled common sense...We saw them waste time by detaining the wrong person, we heard them admit that they didn't even know how many people were in the classroom, then we listened as they dismissed a connection to the MIT shooting. Then they confused the public about the location of video cameras. And then they told us they weren't even sure how long the shooter was in the building. But somehow, last night, (Wednesday) they thought that they would put it all and all doubts to rest. Ingraham then played a clip which included Providence Police Chief Colonel Oscar L. Perez saying he was proud of his department, and the D.A. Peter Neronha praising his "team". and Brown University Police Chief Rodney Chatman, who praising Chief Perez. This led to more outrage from Ingraham. "The Providence crew went on and on, and on, it was interminable. All we wanted to hear was the name of the shooter, how the case broke open, any information on motive... Just what we didn't want five days after these killings, a self-congratulatory confab where the left-wing mayor acted like he was kind of an MC for the awards ceremony. She then played video of Providence Mayor Brett Smiley, who praised everyone you could imagine, which led Ingraham to call for the firing of all of them, with the exception of the FBI Special Agent Ted Docks, who she said "Knew what he was doing." She called it a "complete and total embarrassment." And she saved the worst for last. "And the worst of the worst, the College(Brown) President (Christina Paxson) who makes $3 million a year.." Paxon failed repeatedly to explain why there were no cameras in the part of the building where the shooting took place. She instead praised neighborhood cameras, which she claimed "help crack this case." Two days prior, on Wednesday's Jesse Watters Primetime, Watters, who had been equally as critical of those assembled on the podium throughout the ordeal, exposed just who some of them are and how they got to where they are. He started with Brown Police Chief Chapman. WATTERS: We just discovered the Brown University Police Chief isn't really a big fan of policing. He once said this, 'communities don't want policing done to them'. How this guy came to Brown is a crazy story. He was the head of campus security at the University of Utah and right after he was hired there he was immediately suspended because he didn't have the proper credentials. ... So Rodney resigned and Brown said we will take you. Right before this shooting, Brown's police union issued a vote of no confidence in Chief Rodney... He's obviously completely unqualified. And Watters revealed that the Providence Police Chief Perez, "could be compromised", explaining, "Turns out the Chief's nephew was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for running one of the largest fentanyl rings in Rhode Island. And Mayor Smiley promoted him to Chief knowing his family was trafficking. Why would Smiley do that? Because Smiley and the Chief speak the same language. The Chief's main goal is to diversify the department. It's too white." Watters pointed out that the Providence City Council Chief of Staff (June Rose), who attended the pressers, "is a genderless bisexual who was arrested for protesting at Trump Tower this year." Watters also informed the audience that Brown President Paxon, "..has been heckled for years by Muslim underclassmen. . Over the summer, radical left human rights groups demanded Brown disable their security cameras so Palestinian activists could raise hellunder the radar. Did they cave? We asked. No response." Watters correctly said that the whole city of Providence, "is a DEI mess". Many questions remain. Most of the media will never address them. Bravo to both Jesse Watters and Laura Ingraham for focusing on the incompetence and political correctness that may have led to the death of two students and injuries to nine others. Now let's get answers.

Inside The Forgotten Story Of Anna Strong, The Woman Who May Have Spied For George Washington

Antony Platt/AMCThough few confirmed historical depictions of Anna Strong exist, she was famously portrayed in the television show TURN: Washington’s Spies. During the American Revolution, those who rowed across New York’s Long Island Sound might have seen the flutter of laundry on a distant hill in Strongs Neck. On some days, they may have spotted a black petticoat; on others, they may have noticed some neatly arranged white handkerchiefs. Most probably dismissed what they saw as nothing but a housewife’s work. But as the traditional story goes, the clothing had been carefully arranged by a woman named Anna Strong, a Revolutionary War spy. Some historians believe that Strong used her laundry to send messages to members of George Washington’s Culper Spy Ring, a highly effective intelligence network during the war that helped spread news about British troop movements. But the spy ring operated in absolute secret, and the wider American public didn’t even know about its existence until the 20th century. It remains unclear exactly how many members there were in the network, but Strong is often thought to have been a key participant. So who was Anna Strong? This is her story, including the theory that she was the mysterious “Agent 355” — an unknown female spy who supposedly helped change the course of the Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War Breaks Out — And Changes The Strong Family Very little is known about Anna Smith Strong’s early life. She was born on April 14, 1740, in Setauket, Suffolk County, New York, and, at the age of about 20, she married a man named Selah Strong III. Her husband’s family bought land on a peninsula known as “Little Neck,” which later became known as “Strongs Neck.” The couple had a farm, and Anna gave birth to nine children. Meanwhile, the wider world was changing rapidly. In the 1760s, the British Parliament had imposed unpopular taxes on its American colonies to help pay for debts that emerged due to the Seven Years’ War (also called the French and Indian War). Colonists were outraged by the Stamp Act of 1765, which taxed items like pamphlets and playing cards, and by the Townshend Acts of 1767, which taxed items like paint, glass, paper, and tea. Tension over taxes like these led to the Boston Tea Party in 1773 — and then, in 1775, it led to war between the American colonies and Great Britain. Public DomainThe Boston Tea Party of 1773, one of the events that moved Great Britain and its American colonies closer to war. On Long Island, the Strong family threw their support to the American Patriot side. Selah served as a representative to the first Provincial Congress of New York, and, according to the New York Historical, he fought in the Revolutionary War and saw action during the Battle of Long Island. But in 1778, Selah was captured and imprisoned on the HMS Jersey. He was charged with “surreptitious correspondence with the enemy,” or being a spy. Anna, the daughter of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Colony of New York, was seemingly able to use her connections to get her husband released. For his safety, he then fled to Connecticut. But Anna Strong stayed behind, apparently to protect the family property from the British. Before long, however, she had reportedly joined the Culper Spy Ring. Anna Smith Strong Purportedly Becomes A Spy For George Washington The Culper Spy Ring began on the orders of George Washington in 1778, when Washington made Major Benjamin Tallmadge his director of military intelligence. Before long, Tallmadge had recruited a network of spies, many of whom he’d known from his youth on Long Island. Public DomainBenjamin Tallmadge, the ringleader of the Culper Spy Ring. During the Revolutionary War, the Culper Spy Ring would pass on vital intelligence. They alerted Washington to imminent British attacks and helped reveal the treason of the infamous Benedict Arnold. In order to operate undetected, Tallmadge developed codes and pseudonyms, and elaborate ways of sending messages between himself, his spies, and George Washington. And it’s believed that Anna Strong became a vital part of this system, using a unique type of code. From her farm on Strongs Neck, Anna awaited word from her fellow spies. After getting intelligence from her neighbor, Abraham Woodhull, Anna would reportedly arrange her laundry to send a message to a courier named Caleb Brewster. If she hung a black petticoat, it meant that there was a message ready for Brewster to pick up from Woodhull. Sometimes, the male spies also met in coves nearby, so to indicate which of the six coves would serve as a meeting place, Anna would hang one to six handkerchiefs. New York Public Library Digital CollectionsStrongs Neck, where Anna Strong purportedly hung her laundry — sending symbols to other Revolutionary War spies. Then, when the Revolutionary War ended, Anna Strong’s life seemingly went back to normal. Her husband returned, and they had their 10th child: George Washington Strong. Anna died almost 30 years after the war ended, on August 12, 1812, in relative obscurity. Her service — and the service of other Culper Spy Ring members — would go unreported until the 20th century. Since then, some have speculated that Anna Strong could be the legendary Revolutionary War female spy known only as “Agent 355.” Was Anna Smith Strong Really “Agent 355”? Who was Agent 355? Rumors about the mysterious female spy emerged thanks to the Culper Spy Ring’s coded messages. George Washington was “711,” for example, and “371” meant “man.” Meanwhile, “355” was used to refer to a “lady,” and in a coded message sent from Woodhull to Washington on August 15, 1779, this part stood out: “I intend to visit 727 [Culper code for New York] before long and think by the assistance of a 355 [lady in the code] of my acquaintance, shall be able to outwit them all.” Some historians firmly believe that this lady in question was Anna Strong. Some think that she was someone else entirely, perhaps someone based in Manhattan. And it’s also possible that “355” wasn’t even a spy at all. Public DomainA depiction of a female spy during the American Civil War, often mistakenly used as an illustration of Agent 355. Indeed, some historians even doubt the accuracy of Anna Strong’s story and her work as a spy during the Revolutionary War. The Journal of the American Revolution reports that while her legend was passed down over generations, and some historians believe there is convincing evidence of Anna Strong’s role, others are not as convinced. However, they do think there’s a possibility that Anna played at least some role in passing on messages. “The clothesline story is apocryphal; I treat it as folklore,” Beverly Tyler, the historian for the Three Village Historical Society in Setauket, stated. “[But Anna Strong] had to communicate with [another spy] in some way, whether it was the clothesline or some other regular method.” In the end, Anna Strong’s story may never be fully known. As a spy, she would have operated in the shadows of the Revolutionary War. But if “local legends” are to be believed, she played a small but vital role in the conflict. By simply hanging her laundry near her home, she would be all but invisible to the British soldiers. But to her fellow American Patriots, she could be a shining beacon, passing on crucial information as the war went on. After reading about Anna Smith Strong, discover the story of William Dawes and how he rode alongside Paul Revere. Or, learn about Nathan Hale, the 21-year-old who spied for George Washington and was hanged by the British.
