Alert: State Adopts Bill That Will Ban up to 85 Percent of Rifles, Signals Death of 2nd Amendment

New legislation in Colorado looks to punish those Americans exercising their Second Amendment rights. On Friday, the Colorado Sun reported that Democratic Gov. Jared Polis signed Senate Bill 3 into law, which places more restrictions on gun sales in the state. Specifically, under the new law -- taking effect in...

No, George Clooney: You Don't Get to Retcon Joe Biden's Legacy to Make Yourself Look Better

George Clooney finally did the right thing -- but only once it was clear it would cost him nothing to do so. The "Ocean's 11" star and leftist political hack congratulated himself for that time when he admitted that the age-addled President Joe Biden was unfit for a second term....

DEVELOPING: Active Shooter Reported At Florida State University

Police responded to an active shooter situation Thursday at Florida State University. At least six people sustained injuries in the shooting. According to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, five individuals are in serious condition and one is in critical condition. However, law enforcement sources said the number of injuries is subject to change. A suspect is in custody, ABC News noted. The shooting took place near the Student Union, according to an FSU Alert, which had advised students to continue to shelter in place due to reports of an active shooter. Student Daniella Streety told ABC News she was in the building across the street from the Student Union when alert sirens started blaring, and people who were standing outside ran into her building. Students then fled from the Student Union as law enforcement flooded the scene, she said. “It’s too early to understand the extent of the violence, but early reports are very disturbing,” Rep. Neal Dunn, R-Fla., said in a statement. “Shelter in place. Stay Safe. Thank you to our brave first responders for responding to the situation.” The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said it’s “actively engaged in the incident.” The FBI is also assisting authorities at the university, an agency spokesperson told ABC News. President Donald Trump has been briefed on the shooting, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. “I’ve been briefed on the Florida State University Tallahassee active shooting,” Trump said. “It’s a horrible thing — horrible that things like this take place. We’ll have more to say about it later,” he added. Ron DeSantis said. Our prayers are with our FSU family and state law enforcement is actively responding. https://t.co/gT4mDwWsGC — Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) April 17, 2025 Per CNN: Florida State University student Emily Palmer, 21, was near FSU’s student union when she was alerted to a “dangerous situation” on campus. “I’m shaking … It’s just a lot going on,” Palmer told CNN from the safety of her student housing. “I’m concerned about my friends,” she said. “I have friends in class right who are getting evacuated by police with their hands up.” Joshua Sirmans was in the university’s main library when he said alarms began going off warning of an active shooter, according to the Associated Press. The 20-year-old junior said law enforcement officers escorted him and other students out of the library with their hands over their heads. Messages sent via FSU Alert, the university’s emergency notifications system, urged people on campus to continue to shelter in place. “Law enforcement is actively clearing rooms on the main campus,” one message said. Richard Rind, the university’s director of transportation and parking, told CNN he was sheltered in place Thursday as emergency vehicles descended on campus. “Many emergency vehicles on scene but can’t see much as we are locked down in a building across the street,” Rind told CNN, adding he heard shots and saw people running as the incident unfolded Thursday afternoon. This story is developing.

Child Killer Who Got Biden’s ‘Signed’ Clemency Now Faces Death Penalty Again

Thomas Sanders, a convicted child murderer spared by Biden in a 2024 clemency spree, is back. Back on the hook that is, for the death penalty. A Louisiana grand jury just indicted him on new state charges for the 2010 murder of 12-year-old Lexis Roberts. (He also murdered Lexis’ mother). Sanders was one of 37 death row inmates Biden gave a pass to on his way out the door. Now Louisiana may finish what federal court started. Biden commuted his sentence – Louisiana said Hell No! Thomas S. Sanders was indicted by a Louisiana state Grand Jury on April 14 for the chilling death of 12-year-old Lexis Kaye Roberts in 2010.https://t.co/gT2KlS7z9R — James Wieck (@JamesWieck97276) April 17, 2025 Fox News reports: A convicted child killer who was sentenced to death in 2014 but received a commuted sentence to spend life in prison under Joe Biden is facing the possibility of death again in Louisiana. A Louisiana federal jury convicted Thomas Sanders, now 67, of kidnapping and murdering Las Vegas 12-year-old Lexis Roberts in 2010 and sentenced him to death — the first death penalty imposed in federal court in the Western District of Louisiana. Sanders was one of the 37 death row inmates who received a commuted sentence from Biden just before the 46th president left office. On Monday, a grand jury in Catahoula Parish indicted Sanders on state charges. “I found it outrageous that Biden would use this clemency power to commute the sentence of the child killer,” Catahoula Parish District Attorney Brad Burget told Fox News Digital on Thursday. “Whatever your politics are doesn’t matter. This is a 12-year-old who watched her mother be brutally killed by Mr. Sanders. Then, he kidnapped her and traveled halfway across the United States to rural Catahoula Parish in Louisiana, where he shot this 12-year-old three times in the head and once in the chest with a 22-caliber rifle and then slit her throat with a homemade knife.” Sanders initially met Lexis’ mother, Suellen, in 2010 while he was working at a warehouse in Las Vegas, where Lexis and her mother were living at the time. He and Suellen began dating, and about two months into their relationship, they decided to take a road trip to the Grand Canyon over Labor Day Weekend that year, according to the Justice Department. It was during their return home that Sanders drove off I-40 into an Arizona desert and fatally shot Suellen. He then forced Lexis into his vehicle and traveled across the country with the 12-year-old girl, holding her captive for several days until they arrived in Louisiana. And then Biden’s autopen signed off that Sanders should live. We truly have enemies ruling over us. At least, we did until President Trump returned. Biden sure like to lessen the punishments for murderers go, didn’t he? Appeals Court Blocks Chutkan, Lets Zeldin Freeze Biden’s $20B

The DC Circuit just hit pause on Judge Chutkan’s order. It would’ve forced Citibank to hand over $20 billion in EPA funds to “green nonprofits.” (Nothing says ‘nonprofit’ like getting handed billions, right?) The panel sided with EPA Chief Lee Zeldin. So, Chutkan tried to rush the payout to eight climate groups by Thursday, basically saying ‘give these climate grifters all the billions!!’ But the court said: ah-ah-ah, not so fast. For now, the billions stay out of their hands. Poor grifters, how will they get all the billions now? BREAKING: Obama Judge Chutkan Blocks EPA Chief Lee Zeldin From Clawing Back $20 Billion From Biden EPA Slush Fund – Trump Spox Responds READ: https://t.co/N5NwxawqmK pic.twitter.com/VVuBHEDTSL — The Gateway Pundit (@gatewaypundit) April 16, 2025 The Hill reports: A federal judge on Wednesday indefinitely blocked the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from clawing back billions of dollars in Biden-era climate grants. U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan said the EPA may not suspend or terminate the green grant awards nor limit access to those funds while a lawsuit challenging the effort to recoup the money moves forward. She also ordered Citibank, which received the funds but refused to disburse them at the government’s request, to unfreeze the climate groups’ funds. However, Chutkan directed Citibank to refrain from releasing any funds until Thursday afternoon. After that, the groups will be able to use that money to finance climate-friendly projects. The administration has already appealed her decision, which she said would be explained in a forthcoming memorandum. Through the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, the EPA was given $20 billion for grants to financial institutions to fund climate-friendly projects. The “climate-friendly” grift needs to end. “Judge” Chutkan again ruled against President Trump, this time on wasteful spending labeled “clean energy”.Amazing how many federal judges there are, but the same few always get randomly assigned lawfare cases against POTUS. Why is that? pic.twitter.com/42zmkihgkx — RetiredPublius (@ProffesorPubli1) April 16, 2025 And as for the EPA…now where have I heard that name before? Oh, yeah. Project Veritas did an undercover report about them. Over 35 million people have seen this clip, and Judge Chutkan is still supporting the EPA? Federal Judge Makes Major Ruling In Google’s Monopoly Case

In Google’s antitrust case, a federal judge ruled that the tech giant “illegally dominated two markets for online advertising technology”. The Department of Justice brought the antitrust case against Google in January 2023. In this case, prosecutors proved that Google operated as a monopoly in the advertising technology industry. In her decision, US District Judge Leonie Brinkema wrote, “Plaintiffs have proven that Google has willfully engaged in a series of anticompetitive acts to acquire and maintain monopoly power in the publisher ad server and ad exchange markets for open-web display advertising.” Brinkema added, “For over a decade, Google has tied its publisher ad server and ad exchange together through contractual policies and technological integration, which enabled the company to establish and protect its monopoly power in these two markets.” BOOM: Google loses ANOTHER antitrust suit, it’s a monopolist of the software used by publishers to manage online ads, as well as the exchanges used to buy and sell online ads. pic.twitter.com/5bstcP50PN — Matt Stoller (@matthewstoller) April 17, 2025 Major loss for Google, and major win for anti-trust law, as federal judge rules that Google is a monopolist in case brought by the Trump DOJ, continued by the Biden DOJ, and now pursued by the new Trump DOJ (same with the current anti-trust suit against Meta): https://t.co/02Hs51TATd — Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) April 17, 2025 Here’s what CNBC: Alphabet’s Google illegally dominated two markets for online advertising technology, a federal judge said on Thursday, dealing another blow to the tech titan in an antitrust case brought by the U.S. U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema in Alexandria, Virginia, ruled that Google unlawfully monopolized markets for publisher ad servers and the market for ad exchanges which sit between buyers and sellers. Antitrust enforcers failed to show the company had a monopoly in advertiser ad networks, she wrote. The ruling could allow prosecutors to argue for a breakup of Google’s advertising products. The U.S. Department of Justice has said that Google should have to sell off at least its Google Ad Manager, which includes the company’s publisher ad server and its ad exchange. Google will now face the possibility of two different U.S. courts ordering it to sell assets or change its business practices. A judge in Washington will hold a trial next week on the DOJ’s request to make Google sell its Chrome browser and take other measures to end its dominance in online search. BREAKING: Federal judge rules Google acquired and maintained monopoly power in digital advertising in violation of antitrust law. — ALX (@alx) April 17, 2025 Per The Verge: The US Department of Justice has won its antitrust case against Google, which accused the company of operating a monopoly in the advertising technology industry. The ruling, which marks Google’s most recent antitrust loss following its Search case, says the tech giant’s anticompetitive practices in two key markets “substantially harmed” publishers and users on the web. “Plaintiffs have proven that Google has willfully engaged in a series of anticompetitive acts to acquire and maintain monopoly power in the publisher ad server and ad exchange markets for open-web display advertising,” US District Judge Leonie Brinkema writes. “For over a decade, Google has tied its publisher ad server and ad exchange together through contractual policies and technological integration, which enabled the company to establish and protect its monopoly power in these two markets.” Judge Brinkema found Google “liable under Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act” due to its practices in the ad tech tool and exchange spaces, but dismissed the argument that Google had operated a monopoly in ad networks.

The accident occurred around 8:50am MDT Tuesday outside El Paso; the names of the deceased will not be released until the next of kin are notified. The troops are deployed there in support of President Donald Trump’s executive order to secure the U.S.-Mexico border – Joint Task Force Southern Border. The region where the accident took place is just over the state line and west of Fort Bliss, a major Army installation in West Texas that has played a critical role in dispatching military deportation flights. It also served as a touchpoint for thousands of soldiers and pieces of equipment now deployed along the border. The victims were Marines from Camp Pendleton in California, according to the Washington Post. A defense official speaking on the condition of anonymity said the accident occurred in a civilian vehicle, but no civilians were harmed in the incident. The incident did not involve any of the scores of Stryker vehicles the Pentagon has sent down to the border to perform patrols, the official said. Investigators are working to determine what caused a single-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in New Mexico that killed two Marines deployed to the southwest border mission and critically injured a third.https://t.co/tGQj9j9fkx — Stars and Stripes (@starsandstripes) April 17, 2025 Per ABC News: Two service members were killed and another is in serious condition following a vehicle accident earlier Tuesday in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, the United States Northern Command (NORTHCOM) said in a statement. Shortly before 9 a.m. “Three service members deployed in support of Joint Task Force Southern Border were involved in a vehicle accident,” NORTHCOM said. Tuesday’s accident are the first fatalities associated with the United States military’s mission along the border with Mexico that have been disclosed. More than 10,000 active duty service members have been authorized for the border mission.

Scientists Discover “Strongest Evidence Yet” Of Life On Distant Planet

Scientists and astronomers announced on Thursday that they have discovered the “strongest evidence yet” of life on a distant planet. A British-U.S. team of astronomers and scientists has discovered “promising hints” of life on the planet K2-18b, which is located 124 light years away from Earth. The researchers using the James Webb Space Telescope team detected two chemicals in K2-18b’s atmosphere. The two chemicals found were dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and dimethyl disulfide, which are biosignatures that hint at extraterrestrial life on the planet. The James Webb Space Telescope has picked up the first ever potential sign of biological life in space. The exoplanet K2-18b, which is 124 light-years away, is believed to be fully covered by water and have large amounts of dimethyl sulfide, a gas only made by living organisms. pic.twitter.com/fUQeLUpNkK — Visegrád 24 (@visegrad24) April 17, 2025 Astronomers claim to have discovered major sign of life on distant planet: ‘First hints we are seeing of an alien world’ https://t.co/9KcwsPnxHP pic.twitter.com/eUO4wPUMhW — New York Post (@nypost) April 17, 2025 Check out what CBS News reported: Astronomers announced Thursday that they had detected the most promising “hints” of potential life on a planet beyond our solar system, though other scientists expressed skepticism. There has been vigorous debate in scientific circles about whether the planet K2-18b, which is 124 light years away in the Leo constellation, could be an ocean world capable of hosting microbial life, at least. Using the James Webb Space Telescope, a British-U.S. team of researchers detected signs of two chemicals in the planet’s atmosphere long considered to be “biosignatures” indicating extraterrestrial life. On Earth, the chemicals dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and dimethyl disulfide are produced only by life, mostly microscopic marine algae called phytoplankton. The researchers emphasized caution, saying that more observations were needed to confirm these findings, and that they were not announcing a definitive discovery. No big deal, just a possible sign of life on another planet: “A repeated analysis of the exoplanet’s atmosphere suggests an abundance of a molecule that on Earth has only one known source: living organisms such as marine algae.” https://t.co/V1Md2VmHzT pic.twitter.com/ydkaMBSrEN — Eric Geller (@ericgeller) April 17, 2025 Per The New York Post: Astronomers have discovered a major sign of life — and “the first hints… of an alien world” on a distant planet orbiting outside the solar system, according to a new report. The scientists believe the exoplanet, K2-18b, is a “Hycean planet” — meaning it’s home to an abundance of a life-signifying molecules including one that is only produced on Earth by living organisms such as marine algae, according to a new report. K2-18b — which is eight times the size of Earth and 124 light-years away — shows signs of the unique molecule dimethyl sulfide, according to a new study published in the Astrophysical Journal on Wednesday. “This is a revolutionary moment,” Dr. Nikku Madhusudhan, an astronomer at the University of Cambridge and author of the study, said at a news conference Tuesday, according to NPR. “These are the first hints we are seeing of an alien world that is possibly inhabited,” he claimed. Astronomers detected a possible signature of life on a planet orbiting a star 120 light-years away. https://t.co/VtRgkG5xEa — The New York Times (@nytimes) April 16, 2025
