Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. On environmental chemicals, the report says children are being “exposed to an increasing number of synthetic chemicals, some of which have been linked to developmental issues and chronic disease.” Specifically, when it comes to pesticides, the report’s authors order a study on the chemicals by next year, but it also tires to quell fears of quick regulatory action. Notably, some Republicans have expressed concern about action on pesticides because of how it might impact farmers. “American farmers rely on these products, and actions that further regulate or restrict crop protection tools beyond risk-based and scientific processes set forth by Congress must involve thoughtful consideration of what is necessary for adequate protection, alternatives, and cost of production,” the report states. Addressing the over-medicalization of children, the report cites a 1,400% increase in antidepressant prescriptions and increased prescribing of stimulants, antibiotics, and asthma drugs, an Axios report notes. Vaccinations were also highlighted, specifically calling for “more rigorous clinical trial designs.” The detailed report is framed as a “call to action.” “It presents the stark reality of American children’s declining health, backed by compelling data and long-term trends,” it reads. “More importantly, it seeks to unpack the potential dietary, behavioral, medical, and environmental drivers behind this crisis. By examining the root causes of deteriorating child health, this assessment establishes a clear, evidence-based foundation for the policy interventions, institutional reforms, and societal shifts needed to reverse course.” In the coming 80 days, Secretary Kennedy is tasked with creating a strategy based on these findings to tackle the chronic disease crisis.

WASHINGTON—Top conservative voices are calling on the United States Senate to “act immediately” to end federal funding for Planned Parenthood, citing concerns not only about the massive number of abortions the group facilitates every year, but also the abortion giant’s promotion of transgender hormones. In a letter exclusively obtained by The Daily Wire, former NCAA athlete Riley Gaines, detransitioner Chloe Cole, Live Action founder and president Lila Rose, whistleblower Eithan Haim, Ethics and Public Policy Center President Ryan Anderson, and other prominent life advocates remind the Senate that the language to defund Planned Parenthood is currently included in the “Big Beautiful Bill” — and if the Senate has the guts, they write, it will keep and pass the provision. It is an unusual coalition, merging pro-life leaders and individuals who are outspoken on the harms of transgender ideology. The culture wars of the past few years have united many Americans who heretofore would have considered themselves on opposite sides of many political issues, particularly abortion, as they fight to protect the innocence of children. In this case, the advocates are united in their opposition to Planned Parenthood. The Republican-led House passed the “Big Beautiful Bill” in a 215 to 214 vote early Thursday morning after back-to-back, all-night sessions in the Rules Committee and on the House floor. The abortion giant has a well-documented history of crafting sexual education materials about gender ideology and sexuality that, according to the leaders writing to the Senate, are “designed to funnel our children into the organization’s highly lucrative abortion and hormone-treatment pipelines.”  “Congress must no longer allow this child abuse to continue,” they write. “The current reconciliation bill includes a critical provision to defund Planned Parenthood. We strongly urge you to ensure this provision remains intact and is enacted into law.” “No entity engaged in the mass killing and chemical sterilization of American children should receive a single cent from the federal government,” the letter adds. “Any member of Congress who refuses to support this defunding effort, especially those claiming to defend life and promote family, is complicit in the ongoing exploitation of both born and preborn children.” Other signers include Kristan Hawkins, the president of Students for Life America; Josh Mercer, the vice president of CatholicVote; Seth Dillon, CEO of the Babylon Bee; John Bruchalski, the founder of Tepeyac OBGYN Divine Mercy Care; Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood worker and the CEO and Founder of And Then There Were None, and others. “Planned Parenthood is committing unconscionable abuse — killing over 400,000 preborn children each year and now pushing potentially sterilizing trans drugs on vulnerable minors,” Lila Rose told The Daily Wire on Thursday. “No organization that profits from the destruction and mutilation of children should receive a single cent of taxpayer money,” she added. “I urge Congress to keep the defunding provision in the reconciliation bill and pass the bill. Anything less is complicity.” During a White House press briefing on Thursday afternoon, The Daily Wire asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt whether the president is committed to ensuring that the provision to defund Planned Parenthood stays in the “Big Beautiful Bill” as it passes through the Senate. “The president has maintained a very clear commitment to ensuring that this administration and the American people’s tax dollars are not funding any institution; that includes hospital systems that are funding the chemical castration and mutilation of children,” Leavitt responded. “We are not going to tolerate taxpayer dollars going to such efforts.”

The Trump administration revoked Harvard’s ability to enroll foreign students on Thursday as the government and elite university feud over antisemetic incidents on campus. The Department of Homeland Security notified the university in a letter that its participation in the Student and Exchange Visitor Program had been revoked. The move against the university’s foreign exchange program came after days of negotiations over a government request for Harvard records, according to The New York Times. “This administration is holding Harvard accountable for fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party on its campus,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a post on X. “It is a privilege, not a right, for universities to enroll foreign students and benefit from their higher tuition payments to help pad their multibillion-dollar endowments. Harvard had plenty of opportunity to do the right thing. It is a privilege, not a right, for universities to enroll foreign students and benefit from their higher tuition payments… pic.twitter.com/12hJWd1J86 — Secretary Kristi Noem (@Sec_Noem) May 22, 2025 The letter bluntly lists the infractions that the Trump administration says Harvard has committed to lose its certification to receive foreign students. “As a result of your refusal to comply with multiple requests to provide the Department of Homeland Security pertinent information while perpetuating an unsafe campus environment that is hostile to Jewish students, promotes pro-Hamas sympathies, and employs racist ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ policies, you have lost this privilege,” the letter says. Last month, Noem requested information from Harvard on foreign students. The administration asked for information that the university has that shows if any student with a visa committed “illegal activity” or “dangerous or violent activity” and whether or not that activity took place on campus, according to a letter from Noem to Harvard. Homeland Security also requested information on what disciplinary action Harvard has taken “as a result of [visa holders] making threats to other students or populations or participating in protests.” Harvard rebuffed the requests despite warnings from the Trump administration that its certification to accept foreign students could be revoked. The Trump administration has previously stripped billions in taxpayer-funded grants to the university over its handling of antisemitism on campus. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in Senate testimony this week that the Trump administration has likely revoked thousands of visas from foreign students who have disrupted campus or expressed solidarity with terror groups. “I don’t know the latest count, but we probably have more to do,” said Rubio. “We’re going to continue to revoke the visas of people who are here as guests and are disrupting our higher education facilities.”

Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced legislation that would prevent certain migrants from entering the United States in a bid to crack down on what she calls a “multi-million dollar industry” built on birth tourism. Blackburn’s bill, called “the Ban Birth Tourism” act, would modify existing immigration law to make those intending to come to the United States for the purpose of having a child in America ineligible for entry. Blackburn asserted in a recent interview that foreign networks, including those operating in China and Russia, have built a multi-million dollar industry by taking advantage of America’s birthright citizenship policy. “You have brokers who are advertising and pushing for people in countries like Russia and China, and women, when they are pregnant, they can pay a fee to the broker, come into the U.S., live in housing that is provided for them, have the baby, get the birth certificate,” she said, adding that the scheme allows the foreign nationals to start the chain migration process once the child turns 21 years old. Blackburn’s legislation aims to prevent those foreigners from entering the United States. “Foreign nationals have been exploiting our nation’s immigration laws for far too long, taking advantage of the system to come to the United States for the sole purpose of giving birth to obtain U.S. citizenship for their children,” the senator from Tennessee charged. “The Ban Birth Tourism Act would prevent foreign nationals, including those from adversaries like Communist China and Russia, from buying American citizenship for their children.” Blackburn’s bill comes just after the Supreme Court began hearing arguments addressing President Donald Trump’s day one executive order ending birthright citizenship for children born in the United States without at least one parent who is a citizen or legal permanent resident. Trump railed against birthright citizenship in a post on Truth Social ahead of the arguments before the Supreme Court. “The United States of America is the only Country in the World that does this, for what reason, nobody knows — But the drug cartels love it!” Trump said. “Birthright Citizenship was not meant for people taking vacations to become permanent Citizens of the United States of America, and bringing their families with them, all the time laughing at the ‘SUCKERS’ that we are!” Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX) introduced his own legislation in the House ending birthright citizenship shortly after Trump’s executive order. Babin’s bill, like Blackburn’s, takes aim at birth tourism and aims to “close loopholes that exploit birthright citizenship and discourage illegal immigration.”
