Colter Wall Offers Hilarious Solution When Management Suggests Advertising New Music On A Billboard: “A Cheaper Option Was Selected”

Colter Wall‘s got a new single on the way. While the “Cowpoke” singer has yet to announce when fans will get new music, he’s teasing it online, leaving fans begging for it to be sooner rather than later. Wall’s last record, Little Songs, was released in 2023; and the Canadian singer/songwriter has been more or less radio silent since then. Of course, this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, given that Wall is famous for doing his own thing. It’s honestly one of the things fans respect most about Wall. He isn’t flashy, and when he’s not touring or in the studio, you will find him tending to his cattle. However, fans should be thrilled to know that new music is on the way. If you recall, back in December, the Canadian told Dale Brisby in a rare media appearance on the Rodeo Time podcast that new music was coming out this summer. “I don’t know when it will be out. Probably… I would guess, usually they want to shoot for or put that stuff out around July or August. Hopefully this (2025) year we’ll get it mixed and out into the world. New record, all original songs (with) one cover on there.” At the time of the podcast, the “Honky Tonk Nighthawk” singer said that they had yet to name it, but he happily explained the inspiration behind the collection of music they put together: “I don’t know what it’s called. I kind of just wanted to make a straight… it’s just a love letter to country music. Really it’s just a bunch of sad drinking songs mostly. I just wanted to make a record that sounded like Merle Haggard and the Strangers—late 60s into the early 70s. Honestly, to me, that’s where country music peaked. That’s my favorite stuff to listen to, and I think that was the best band in country music. I wanted to make a record that reminded me of that. So that’s what we did… or tried to (do) anyways.” Now that it’s nearing the end of August, it seems like that’s clearly been delayed. However, it shouldn’t come as a massive surprise given that 2025 has seemingly been a trying year for Wall, highlighted by the fact that he cancelled his February and March shows to October due to “personal reasons” regarding his mental and physical health. However, new music is on the horizon as Wall is teasing what he’s got in the pipeline. Wall initially sent fans into a frenzy when he shared a cryptic post from Nashville’s famed RCA Studio A, sharing an instrumental snippet of a song, and you can hear the Merle Haggard influence. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Colter Wall (@colterwall) After getting a huge response from fans on that first post, he decided to up the ante and shared a preview of a new single, seemingly titled “1,800 Miles From Music Row, dogging on the Nashville machine. At this point, it’s fairly well-established that Wall isn’t a huge fan of Music City’s industry infrastructure. From his outright refusal to engage with most forms of media to his dedication to traditional Country-Western instrumentation, he’s always viewed himself as an outsider in the genre. Couple that with tracks such as “Motorcycle,” where he declared Music Row (and Nashville as an extension) as dead, Wall has never held back his disdain for the current state of the industry. Based on the lyrics previewed in this clip, it appears that those thoughts have not changed much: “I don’t know what you think you’ve been toldIf I ever was for sale, I never soldIt’s short on flashing lights and rhinestone clothes1,800 miles from Music RowIt’s Tyson songs on the fiddle and guitarAnd the pedal steel man drives a real mean barYou won’t hear it on your radioIt’s 1,800 miles from Music Row” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Colter Wall (@colterwall) Fans, again, were infatuated with this snippet of the tune, and now Wall has revealed the song’s title in a hilarious post that gives Nashville the middle finger again. Keeping right in line with the previewed lyrics, Wall shared in the caption that his team wanted to invest in some advertising for his music, suggesting he do a billboard. In true Colter Wall fashion, he wanted a more practical advertisement and opted to save a little money by creating another great marketing option: “Management suggested getting a billboard to promote the upcoming single. A cheaper option was selected.” The interstate-style sign reads “Music Row 1,800 Miles” painted on a piece of scrap wood in green paint. It’s the definition of simple yet effective. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Colter Wall (@colterwall) The comments section filled up praising Wall for sticking to his cowboy ways and creating an alternative sign for promoting his single. “Idk the color choice is a bit flashy…” “Morgan Wallen would be mad if he could read this.” “This is so punk rock, I love it.” “Y’all don’t think that’s pushing it a little too much?” “The realest.” “That’ll do!” “Little does management know that you can actually see this from space.” “You’re 1,800 miles in the right direction!” “Must be nice to have an ad budget.” “Cowpoke Marketing 101.” “That thing might block the sun, dude. Save some advertising for the rest of us.” “The views are better where you’re at. Keep that grass right side up!” The “Cowpoke Marketing 101” gets the gold medal from me for the best comment I read on the post. Let’s face it, seeing Colter Wall on a billboard in Music City would be sick, but it’s not his speed at all. Colter isn’t flashy, and the sign made on the ranch perfectly reflects his casual presence, which focuses on the music. This single sounds like a heater, and I can’t wait to hear it in full. The post Colter Wall Offers Hilarious Solution When Management Suggests Advertising New Music On A Billboard: “A Cheaper Option Was Selected” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Whiny Democrat Senator Mark Warner Lets The Truth Slip Out

The following article, Whiny Democrat Senator Mark Warner Lets The Truth Slip Out, was first published on Conservative Firing Line. Last week, U.S. Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.) let loose with a temper tantrum worthy of the most outraged 2-year-old. And like the toddler’s reaction to being denied what he thought was his right, Warner has run to the propaganda bosses of the major controlled-corporate media to complain and hurl insults and the now-familiar epithets at … Continue reading Whiny Democrat Senator Mark Warner Lets The Truth Slip Out ...
