George Stephanopoulos Throws A Fit After Trump, Son Blame Democrats For Assassination Attempts

ABC News host George Stephanopoulos, a lifelong Democrat who worked in the Clinton administration, threw a fit during an interview over the weekend that former President Donald Trump and one of his sons blamed Democrats for the assassination attempts on the former president. Stephanopoulos had the meltdown during an interview with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-CA) when asked about the recent remarks. The man who shot Trump in the ear during an attempted assassination in July had previously donated to a far-left cause while another man who was arrested for an attempted assassination in September had a history of donating to Democrats dozens of times. “Is it right for the president and his family to suggest that Democrats are behind the effort to assassinate him?” Stephanopoulos asked. Johnson responded: “I don’t think they’re saying that Democrat Party tried an assassination attempt.” “I think what they’re alluding to is what we’ve all been saying,” he continued. “They have got to turn the rhetoric down. For years now the leading Democrats in this country, the highest elected officials and the current nominee for president have gone out and said that Donald Trump is a threat to democracy. That the republic will end if he’s re-elected.” “It’s absolute nonsense,” he continued. “And they have incited dangerous people to do dangerous things. The rhetoric has. I think that is a fact that’s objective that everybody can agree to. We do need to turn the volume down.” Stephanopoulos became incensed that Johnson blamed the extreme rhetoric of the Democratic Party for the shootings and demanded to know if Johnson supported the remarks from the Trump family. “What they’re referring to is the absolute open attacks that have been engaged by Democrats against President Trump since the day he came down that golden escalator in 2016, OK?” Johnson said. “The lawfare is unprecedented. They have attacked him in every single way. They try to malign his character every single day. And the people have had enough of it. That’s why you have these massive turnouts at the rallies. People have had enough of this.” Stephanopoulos then accused Johnson of “repeating the charge” and again demanded to know if Johnson supported the statement. “George, I’m not going to parse the language what people say at rallies,” Johnson said. “I could give you pages and pages of crazy comments by the leading Democrats in this country. That’s not what this is about. We have to talk about the greatest collection of challenges that this country is facing probably since World War II, maybe the Civil War.” Stephanopoulos continued to harp on the issue for another few minutes before he eventually changed the subject. Rescue Team Finds Dog Stranded in Tree 20 Feet Up–And Reunites Her With Family After Hurricane Helene

Humans aren’t the only ‘loved ones being rescued in the wake of Hurricane Helene destruction. The situation looked desperate for a dog that lived in Jonesboro, Tennessee, when flooding overtook her home—and her family almost gave up hope that she had survived. BLOW UP: Reince Priebus Lets ABC Panel Know That He Has HAD IT with Democrats’ Inciteful Rhetoric

Things got spicy between the two former party chairs on ABC This Week with George Stephanopoulos, hosted this week by its namesake Clintonite flack, over Eric Trump saying that Democrats were behind the attempted assassinations of former President Donald Trump. Watch as former RNC chair Reince Priebus and his DNC counterpart Donna Brazile argue over violent rhetoric (click “expand”): ABC THIS WEEK 10/6/24 9:41 AM DONNA BRAZILE: We need both political parties, both leaders. Do not go out there and blame Haitians. Do not go out there and blame immigrants and migrants. That is the rhetoric we hear every day, and if you cannot -- you cannot say that Joe Biden won this election? Joe Biden won the election, then you should not… REINCE PRIEBUS: This show is not a monologue, Donna. BRAZILE: …you are not…It’s the floodgate of lies.  REINCE PRIEBUS: The rest of matter is people have different opinions. BRAZILE: It’s the floodgate of lies. Lies. PRIEBUS: And the fact of the matter is… BRAZILE: Lies. REINCE: This is a former president and his son that number one, came extremely close to losing his life and losing his father. Okay? He's been called a threat to democracy from the very beginning. They got rid of a sitting president to fulfill their message that he's a threat to democracy, in order to save this country. They had a sitting president step down, put in a vice president in the summer. This is how they feel about it, and this is how everyone on the Democratic Party feels about it.  BRAZILE: Oh, I will pray for him… PRIEBUS: So don't sit here and act like holier than thou… BRAZILE: I'm not holy, baby.  PRIEBUS: …that…that…that somehow you have a corner on this message.   BRAZILE: I'm telling the truth. The floodgate of lies. PRIEBUS: Because you don't. BRAZILE: And you don’t. PRIEBUS: And that's why you're not winning -- that's why Harris is behind and that's why she's going to lose. It's the rhetoric. BRAZILE: She's not behind. PRIEBUS: People aren’t buying the rhetoric. BRAZILE: She’s not behind… PRIEBUS: People are not buying the rhetoric. BRAZILE: We’re not buying the lies. GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Why can't you say…why can’t you simply say that blaming Democrats for the assassination… PRIEBUS: I would not blame Democrats.! STEPHANOPOULOS: Just say it's wrong. PRIEBUS: I just said it, OK? But it's also wrong to paint the President of the United States …President Trump… BRAZILE: The former president! PRIEBUS: As this threat to democracy that's going to end the United States of America. What does that do to people's heads when you do that? What does it do to millions- hundreds of millions of people in America? It has an effect, guys! BRAZILE: What does that do to legal immigrants? What does that do to legal immigrants when you know you're lying?  PRIEBUS: It has an effect. BRAZILE: What does it do to kids trying to go to school? PRIEBUS: We’re talking about the President of the United States practically getting killed. That’s the topic. BRAZILE: And we all condemn that.  PRIEBUS: You’re- you’re hitting 20 different topics at once. BRAZILE: The Democrats condemned that, but the lies- the floodgate of lies must stop. PRIEBUS: What lies- like that President Trump’s going to monitor women's pregnancies? Oh, that's Project 2025. It has nothing to do with President Trump, but you know what? It's a good talking point for the Democrats so they keep saying it. They lie all the time. BRAZILE: Oh, wow. Periodic reminder that all this garment-rending from Democrats and their Regime Media allies is over the words of someone whose loved one, to put it in terms the Left can understand, was almost the victim of gun violence. It is often the case that the Regime Media showcases these relatives as unimpeachable advocates for whatever policy they may be advocating for at the time, whether gun control or abortion on demand. But such advocacy and rhetoric is apparently off limits to the Trump family, notwithstanding their being spared of watching their patriarch’s head explode on national TV due to a providential last-second turn.  Brazile uses her allotted time on a question about Special counsel Jack Smith’s October Surprise filing in order to pontificate on Trump’s statement. At that point, Priebus had had enough, and let Brazile have it over the sum of incitetful rhetoric spewed by the Left.  It bears noting that the second Trump shooter literally tweeted “Democracy is on the ballot”, a common talking point that still gets repeated. Neither Trump the Younger nor Priebus are wrong.  The left is regurgitating violent rhetoric, with help from their allies in the Regime Media. The fact is that they're not as mad about the rhetoric as they are about getting called out over it.

Elementary school principal says swastika is 'symbol of peace' in some religions — and backlash is swift

The backlash was swift after an elementary school principal in Washington state said the swastika is a "symbol of peace" in some religions — and now the principal is on administrative leave.A swastika was found Monday on a wall at Phantom Lake Elementary School in Bellevue, KOMO-TV reported. After the discovery, the school district said Principal Heather Snookal sent two messages, KIRO-TV reported.'To me, it is the most warped version of inclusion we could come up with to ask Jewish families in this day and age to be tolerant of the swastika.'In her first message — a school text alert — the principal wrote that such "symbols of hate" have surfaced in their school and that the swastika was removed immediately, KOMO said, adding that the principal also encouraged families to communicate with their children the importance of respecting others and standing up against hate.Hours later, parents shared with KOMO an email from the principal with the subject line: "Follow-up on recent incident and cultural awareness." The station said the principal in the email apologized for not acknowledging in her initial text alert that while a swastika is often associated with hate and intolerance, it's important to acknowledge the swastika also has deep historical and cultural significance in other parts of the world. She also thanked members of the community for bringing it to her attention, the station added.KOMO noted that the principal wrote, in part:In Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and other ancient cultures, the swastika is a symbol of peace, prosperity, and good fortune. We recognize that for many of our families, this symbol has a positive and spiritual meaning, completely unrelated to the hateful associations it took on in more recent history. As a school committed to inclusivity and cultural understanding, we want to ensure that our students from all backgrounds feel welcomed, valued, and celebrated. We also want to make sure our community is educated about the diverse meanings and histories behind symbols like the swastika so that we can all avoid misunderstandings that could inadvertently marginalize or hurt our students. The station said several parents called the second message "unacceptable," that they told her so in an email, and that some planned to meet with her Monday after school. But KOMO said it learned before the end of the school day that the Bellevue School District put the principal on administrative leave and launched an investigation. The station noted the following statement from the district:There is absolutely no place for hate in the Bellevue School District. In a time where words and symbols are used to divide us, we are working with administrators, staff, and students to call our community in for courageous conversations to affirm each other’s cultures, beliefs, and identities. We share in the burden and pain that our Jewish families feel regarding the rise in antisemitism locally and across our country. Bellevue, like other districts, has seen a rise in antisemitic incidents, particularly this past year, and we are taking action to address it. Vandalism on a playground using a swastika is antisemitic and goes against our district’s commitment to building what Dr. King championed as 'The Beloved Community' — a place where people truly care for one another, and there is no hunger, poverty, or hate. Superintendent Aramaki recently sent out a blog post sharing his commitment to addressing antisemitism in our district. This incident will be investigated and addressed according to our policies and procedures. We acknowledge the pain that every incident like this has on our whole community, but especially on our Jewish community.Tirzah Dondanville, a parent with two daughters at the school, told KOMO that "there is no reason why a symbol of hatred should be on our school grounds or given any equivocation. To me, it is the most warped version of inclusion we could come up with to ask Jewish families in this day and age to be tolerant of the swastika."But another parent told KIRO that the principal "is not erasing what happened to the Jewish community whatsoever. Because you know we all know about it. We all know what happened. But like she said, many symbols do mean different things for different cultures, so we cannot disassociate what one person did and forget what this symbol means to everyone else."You can view a video report here about the controversy.Like Blaze News?
