Security forces at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland (JBSA) reportedly returned fire on at least one drive-by suspect early Saturday morning. “JBSA officials announced that the incident took place at around 4:30 on Saturday morning at the main gate of the Chapman Training Annex,” FOX San Antonio reports. It’s unclear how many shooters were involved or the amount of shots fired upon the base. The shooters are not believed to have a military affiliation. San Antonio police officers also arrived at the scene to assist in the investigation, Antosh said. A motive for the shooting is not known. The JBSA-Chapman Training Annex entry gate was closed and reopened at around 9:30 a.m. local time. Drivers were advised to use an alternate gate located north of primary on Ray Ellison Boulevard.
