Biden Tightens the Border, Praises Corrupt Conviction of His Opponent

Only months before the election, Joe Biden has worked out a deal with Mexico to slow illegal immigration and will sign an executive order to restrict some asylum claims by people coming over the border illegally. In an obvious ploy to get re-elected,  the order will allow U.S. immigration officials to quickly deport migrants who […] The post Biden Tightens the Border, Praises Corrupt Conviction of His Opponent appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

NY AG James Loses Bid to Move Group’s Pro-Life Suit to Manhattan

Manhattan Supreme Court has rejected New York Attorney General Letitia James’ bid to move a lawsuit against an anti-abortion pregnancy group and almost a dozen pregnancy counseling centers to Manhattan from upstate. Far-left Democrat James sued Heartbeat International and 11 “pro-life pregnancy organizations” in the state Supreme Court in Manhattan for promoting an unproven and unapproved “Abortion […] The post NY AG James Loses Bid to Move Group’s Pro-Life Suit to Manhattan appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Idaho Bar Designates June As ‘Heterosexual Awesomeness Month,’ Offers Discounts For Straight Men

An Idaho bar is bucking the trend and promoting June as “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month” rather than celebrating Pride. Old State Saloon in Eagle, a town near the state capital of Boise, announced the unique promotion via its Facebook page. The venue has received a ton of support on social media along with the expected vitriol from leftists. The month’s specials include straight men receiving a free draft beer on Mondays and straight couples enjoying a 15% discount on Wednesdays, the Facebook page adverstised. Old State Saloon added several updates to the post after its promotion went viral.  “It seems as though people who are against Heterosexual Awesomeness Month have a hard time commenting without using horrific words, expletives, using the name of the Lord in vain, etc. Make an intelligent comment and stay. Cuss and you are banned. Thanks. We’ve banned about 25 already,” one post said. Another update said the establishment was “seeking a perfect judge for Mondays in June to determine if men’s chosen clothing is officially heterosexual.” The advertised pay was set at “$15/hr plus free beer” for anyone able to “determine straight threads.” One follow-up included a link for supporters to send donations after the fallout from the promotion resulted in some negative outcomes, per a bar spokesperson.  CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “Since we announced Hetero Awesomeness Month we’ve had some significant backlash: theft of our property, vendors refusing to fulfill our orders for ingredients, wedding catering cancelation [sic], libel, slander – even the owner being falsely accused of being a sex offender,” a fundraising campaign said.  “But, to the credit of the community that is rational and reasonable, we’ve also received so much support from like-minded people who want to celebrate “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month” with us, and get the concept of it as being about freedom and being true to our personal values.”

Fauci Can’t Recall Using Private Email For ‘Official Business’ To Evade FOIA

Dr. Anthony Fauci claimed on Monday he did not recall using his private email to conduct official government business. The longtime health official dismissed the notion during a hearing of the GOP-led Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, which is seeking access to his personal accounts as part of an investigation into the origins of the COVID pandemic. “To the best of my recollection and knowledge I have never conducted official business via my private email,” Fauci testified. Dr. Fauci claims he never conducted government business on private email:@RepJamesComer: “did you ever conduct official business via email?” Fauci: “To the best of my recollection and knowledge I have never conducted official business via my private email.” pic.twitter.com/Tk2sWtO9VS — Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) June 3, 2024 Emails show Dr. David Morens, Fauci’s former senior adviser, discussed a “‘secret’ back channel” and suggested that Fauci used a private account to get around Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Morens also testified to the subcommittee last month that he “may have” sent information related to COVID-19 to Fauci’s personal email account. Fauci, a longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and former chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, conceded that it was possible he spoke to Morens through a private channel in some context. “It might have been because … one of his functions is to write chapters — medical, scientific chapters — with me,” Fauci said. “So it is conceivable that I communicated with him on my private email when we were writing a chapter. And that was not official business.” The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic has expressed concern that Fauci not only knew about the activity Morens described in emails and testimony but also participated in the same behavior. Fauci distanced himself from Morens, saying in his opening statement that he “knew nothing” of his former aide using a personal email account or deleting emails to avoid FOIA requests, and he denied the use of a back channel at NIAID. Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, made a request to Fauci last week for communications from Fauci’s personal email accounts and cell phone records by June 12. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Responsive documents would relate to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, EcoHealth Alliance, Inc., the origins of COVID-19, or congressional oversight of these issues between January 1, 2020, and the present. In recent weeks, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) cut off EcoHealth Alliance and its president, Peter Daszak, from taxpayer funds amid scrutiny of the group’s support of coronavirus research in China that may have resulted in a lab leak. Daszak was a recipient of the emails in which Morens spoke about bypassing the FOIA process and covert back channel. Fauci acknowledged that he may have spoken about Daszak with Morens because EcoHealth was a grantee, but pushed back on the suggestion that he sought to protect the virus research group and insisted that he did not use a private email to message Daszak. ‘You Absolutely Know Queer Children’: Scholastic Urges Teachers To Give Kids LGBT Books In 2024 Guide

Scholastic is encouraging teachers to “disrupt the status quo” by exposing children to LGBT books this Pride Month, telling them they “absolutely know queer children.” The children’s book publishing company recently released its 2024 guide for Scholastic’s annual “Read With Pride” initiative, which includes LGBT children’s book recommendations. The guide assures teachers, caregivers, and “advocates” that “whether or not they are out to themselves or you, you absolutely know queer children and interact with them in your classrooms, libraries, and communities.” “Books and literature are never neutral; by engaging with queer literature for children and young adults, you are disrupting the status quo that implies being cisgender, heterosexual, and allosexual are the default. You are showing children an expanded way of thinking and being that validates all children and all people,” the guide states. Scholastic recommends LGBT books for children as young as preschool age. For “the youngest reader,” Scholastic recommends several books, including “My Moms Love Me” about a lesbian couple with a baby, and “You Are Loved,” a book in which “readers will meet families with two moms and two dads,” according to the description. Scholastic recommends dozens of books for older children ages eight to 12, including three by the same author, Alex Gino. “Melissa” is about a trans-identifying boy, and the other two books are about non-binary characters. “When people look at Melissa, they think they see a boy named George. But she knows she’s not a boy. She knows she’s a girl,” reads the book’s description. Another recommended book for ages eight to 12 is “Moonflower” by Kacen Callender. It is about a depressed non-binary 12-year-old who is “afraid that their mom hates them” and travels to a “spirit realm.” The guide includes dozens of books aimed at young teens 14 and up, including “The Feeling of Falling in Love” by Mason Deaver, which introduces children to the idea of a “friend with benefits.” The guide also lists resources for “supporting” LGBT youth and books, including The Trevor Project, a nonprofit that says it works to prevent LGBT youth suicides. The Trevor Project previously helped devise a model school policy that says schools should hide suicidal students’ sexual orientation and gender identity from their parents unless the student gives permission. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Scholastic’s 2024 guide also dedicates nearly a full page to promoting the claim that affirming children’s new gender identities helps prevent their suicides, heavily citing The Trevor Project. Several recent studies have suggested that social transition does not necessarily improve children’s and teens’ mental health. “As a teacher, librarian, educator, or caregiver, how you interact with all children and teens around queerness matters,” Scholastic’s guide states. “What literature you provide them with, and how you talk about both literature and identity, can have an immense, life-changing impact on the young people in your life.” “Everyone benefits from books with authentic representation of queer identities,” the guide adds.

Ex-Democrats, Independents, and New Donors Fuel Trump’s Campaign Post-Trial

Following Donald Trump's Manhattan trial, a wave of financial support has surged from ex-Democrats, independents, and first-time donors. This influx of cash highlights a significant shift in political alliances and underscores Trump's enduring appeal beyond traditional Republican circles. The trial, which many supporters view as a politically motivated attack, has galvanized a diverse group of backers who are rallying around Trump with renewed vigor and financial contributions. Trump's legal battles, including this high-profile trial, have seemingly fortified his base. Instead of diminishing his support, these events have prompted many former Democrats and politically unaffiliated individuals to financially back his campaign. https://x.com/alexbruesewitz/status/1796541491059568802 This development is a testament to Trump's ability to attract and energize a broad coalition of supporters, transcending conventional party lines. The Manhattan trial has been labeled a "show trial" by Trump's supporters, who argue that it exemplifies the political establishment's attempts to undermine his influence. https://x.com/amuse/status/1796550471160615103 In response, Trump has leveraged these sentiments, successfully converting public outrage into campaign donations. This phenomenon reflects the deepening mistrust of government institutions among his base and a broader segment of the American electorate. Notably, the influx of new donors includes individuals who previously did not engage in political donations. This trend indicates a growing mobilization of citizens who feel compelled to support Trump financially, driven by a belief in his message and a desire to challenge the political status quo. This financial backing is crucial as Trump prepares for the upcoming presidential race, providing the necessary resources to mount a robust campaign. The trial's impact on Trump's campaign funding highlights the resilience of his political brand. Despite facing legal challenges and media scrutiny, Trump continues to inspire a dedicated and financially supportive following. The Manhattan trial has sparked a significant wave of financial support for Trump from a diverse group of ex-Democrats, independents, and new donors. This development underscores Trump's enduring appeal and his ability to mobilize a broad coalition of supporters, providing a strong foundation for his ongoing political endeavors.
