ODDS ARE: Biden Says the Polls Lie…Odds Say Different | Steve Berman

The polls consistently have shown Donald Trump winning in key battleground states all year. The election is less than six months away and President Joe BIden has conceded the economy, the border, China, foreign policy, and all manner of radical progressive, antisemitic, terrorist-loving freaks in the extreme wing of the Democratic Party. Between now and November 5th, Biden has no way to gain votes. My brother’s mantra is Biden “loses 10 votes a day”. The incumbent president is not catching up to the former president. So what is Biden doing when he isn’t making it? He’s faking it. That’s the way he’s always done it for 50 years. In January, Biden told the media “I don’t believe the polls.” In his campaign stops, he spread a blanket of lies so thick that even his lickspittles at CNN have to take notice. Such obvious stuff like “I hope you’re all able to make $400,000. I never did.” (The salary of the U.S. President, by law, is $400,000.) The Bidens consistently make well over a half million in income every year this decade. In the years immediately following his term as VP, Biden made nearly $16 million. He said he went to Iraq and Afghanistan “36, 38 times” when he was a senator and VP. Even Biden’s campaign (which has not been fact checked) says it wasn’t more than 21 visits. Maybe Biden’s mentation is so bad that he keeps remembering the same trips over and over, or maybe he just lies without thinking. When Biden tells us that he doesn’t believe the polls, he is lying or he is being delusional. The polls were right in 2020, and if they’re wrong now, they’re wrong in the opposite direction. See, minority voters are fed up with the Democratic Party and Joe Biden, but social expectations don’t let them tell pollsters the truth. Erick Erickson proposed that a Trump PAC come up with an ad illustrating this, called “The Lie.” ANDRE: Mr. Johnson? [voice off camera says yes] My name is Andre. I use he/him pronouns. This is my white ally Xander who uses she/they pronouns. We are here on behalf of the Biden campaign. Mr. Johnson, we know you have been a loyal Democrat and Joe Biden has been loyal to people of color. Our community wants to make sure President Biden can count on you. Cuts to Mr. Johnson. MR. JOHNSON: excitedly says Yes he can. I’ve already requested by absentee ballot. Cuts to a wide shot of Andre and Xander. XANDER jumps up and down smiling and making a little excited chirp. … Cuts to Mr. Johnson’s wife. She is sitting on a worn velvet couch wearing a casual dress. Above her is a giant portrait of Donald Trump’s mug shot. To the left is a Trump flag. To the right is a framed picture of Donald Trump and a Trump 2024 yard sign affixed to the wall. MRS. JOHSON: Clarence! Why did you lie to that boy? MR. JOHNSON: with a firm look on his face Honey, Joe Biden has lied to us for fifty years. My brother and my uncle both went to prison because of Biden’s three strikes law and they got out thanks to Donald Trump’s First Steps Act. Joe Biden has been lying to blacks for fifty years. We can lie to him just once. Biden isn’t just lying to Black people. He’s lying to everyone, including himself. But just in case you might think the polls are wrong–that people who say they’re voting for Trump are really supporting Biden–don’t take my word for it. The best source of information on the planet on any given topic isn’t found in the polls, it’s found in the oddsmakers who take bets on the outcome. The oddsmakers in the U.K. says that Trump is winning. The latest odds show an “implied win probability” of 54.55% (which was higher) for Trump, and 43.48% for Biden. Now keep in mind, it’s illegal to bet on political events in the U.S. The people setting these odds don’t vote in our elections, they only take bets on who will win. Those people have money on the line, and they are paying out more in odds for Biden than Trump. It’s going to be a close race no matter what happens. Most states are either solidly blue or solidly red. But in the states where the election will be won or lost, the polls have Trump ahead. The oddsmakers have Trump ahead. The economy, the border, China, and crazy kids who hate America and love Marxism say that Biden is digging a hole he can’t climb out of. Regardless of my personal opinions about Trump, I believe the polls, and I believe the odds. Who’s the bigger liar? Follow Steve on Twitter @stevengberman. Red-State Idaho Sweeping Up Cops Disillusioned With Blue West Coast States

While blue states in the West are losing police officers who are disillusioned with soft-on-crime policies, conservative Idaho is gathering them in great numbers. The Idaho Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) reported that between 2019 and 2021, the number of officers from other states applying for certification more than doubled, Fox News reported. “They come to Idaho where they can enjoy their career and make a difference,” Idaho Fraternal Order of Police President Bryan Lovell stated. “They see that, in large part, our communities are supportive of law enforcement and public safety.” Lovell stated that officers from other states said they were fed up with policies that defunded police departments or decriminalized drugs. “The Seattle Police Department has lost more than 700 officers in the past five years and is at its lowest staffing level since the 1990s,” King 5 reported in March. “We’re already at critical levels … We are really struggling to make sure we maintain all the calls that are impacting, not just to maintain the calls, but also investigating those calls and also doing the other type of tactics that actually make for safer outcomes for the community,” Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz said. “I think if rock bottom was ever a thing, we are probably here,” councilmember Rob Saka echoed. Regarding Portland, Oregon, which has just 1.26 officers per every 1,000 residents, 48th among the nation’s 50 largest cities, the Manhattan Institute posited, “In the short run, the city’s particularly harmful riots following the 2020 murder of George Floyd, as well as its leadership’s embrace of the ‘defund the police’ movement, dealt a massive blow to police morale, driving mass resignations and retirements, which have continued to hamstring operations.” “The LAPD is hemorrhaging officers, with more leaving the force than are joining it. Police Chief Michel Moore reported last week that sworn staffing had fallen to 9,103, down nearly 1,000 from 2019, the year that preceded the outbreak of COVID-19,” The Los Angeles Times reported in April 2023. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Former California Highway Patrol officer Seth Horst, who moved to northern Idaho, commented on the tremendous public support for the police in Idaho, saying, “That is so powerful for the men and women in uniform up here to have that backing. It’s a pretty phenomenal place to do the job.” He said of the blue states, “The district attorney doesn’t back them, there’s too much liability, so the department won’t let them enforce the law, which is their job. And that bugs a lot of people. They get a job up here, oftentimes taking a huge pay cut because the pay here does not compare to a lot of states. But it’s worth it to them to raise their families in a place that is safe and has those old-school values.”

New York Times Targets Alito Again. This Time It’s For Revolutionary War-Era Flag.

New York Times Targets Alito Again. This Time It’s For Revolutionary War-Era Flag.

In yet another attempt by The New York Times to target conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, the author of the decision overturning Roe v. Wade, the Times reported that the “Appeal to Heaven” flag, which was originally used by a squadron of frigates commissioned by George Washington at the time of the Revolutionary War, was flown at Alito’s beach house last summer. The Times wrote that the flag, which features a pine tree, was “carried by rioters at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021” and is “now a symbol of support for former President Donald J. Trump, for a religious strand of the ‘Stop the Steal’ campaign and for a push to remake American government in Christian terms.” In America, prior to the Revolutionary War, England would use white pine trees from New England for the masts of their ships. King George III and the British Parliament banned colonists from chopping down white pine trees 12” in diameter or larger, which they could because the American settlers were still living on British property. In 1771, local law enforcement, at the behest of the British, arrested Ebenezer Mudgett, the owner of the Weare mill. That catalyzed the Pine Tree Riot, which is believed to inspire the later Boston Tea Party. The Times said “several ethics experts” called the news of the flag “troubling … because it ties Justice Alito more closely to symbols associated with the attempted election subversion on Jan. 6, and because it was displayed as the obstruction case was first coming for consideration by the court.” “Judges are not supposed to give any impression of bias, yet the flag could be seen as telegraphing the Alitos’ views,” the Times opined, then quoted a law professor from Indiana University calling it “deeply disturbing.” Last week, the Times reported of an upside-down American flag flown outside Alito’s Virginia home in 2021. Six days later, the Times published a series of letters condemning Alito in a column titled, “Justice Alito’s Blame-the-Wife Defense.” “Alito said the saga in his neighborhood began in the days around Jan. 6, 2021, when a neighbor living down the street put up a sign that read ‘F*** Trump’ about 50 feet away from a children’s bus stop,” Fox News reported. “He said his wife, Martha-Ann, then spoke with those neighbors about the sign and the conversation was not well received. Alito told Fox News those neighbors then put up a sign directly attacking his wife and personally blaming her for the events that transpired on Jan. 6 at the nation’s capital.” Alito added that a person who lived at the property with the Trump sign called his wife the “C-word” as the Alitos walked by, prompting his wife to fly the flag upside down for a short time. In June 2023, the Times quoted people slamming The Wall Street Journal for allowing Alito to write an opinion piece in which he explained his position after the leftist outlet ProPublica had contacted him with questions about a fishing trip from 2008. The Journal published its piece before ProPublica published its piece attacking Alito. Yet the Times admitted, “Stephen Engelberg, the editor in chief of ProPublica, said in a statement on Wednesday that ProPublica always invited people mentioned in articles to offer a response before publication.”

Leftist DA Overseeing Crime-Ridden Portland Loses Re-Election Bid

Multnomah County, Oregon, District Attorney Mike Schmidt — who oversees the progressive bastion of Portland — lost his re-election bid on Tuesday night to a moderate candidate who promises to carry out tough-on-crime policies. Schmidt, the George Soros-backed incumbent, fell to Nathan Vasquez, who previously served as the Multnomah County deputy prosecutor under Schmidt. The leftist DA conceded on Wednesday with results showing that Vazquez had secured around 54% of the vote, Portland’s NBC affiliate KGW 8 reported. “It is looking as if I will not be serving another four years as Multnomah County District Attorney,” Schmidt said. “I have called Nathan Vasquez to congratulate him on his victory. While we do not always see eye to eye, I am committed to a smooth transition.” On Tuesday night before the race was called, Vasquez said that he was “hopeful” that the direction of the community was about to change. “This is a time where I think a lot of people in our community are looking for that belief, that hope, and I think tonight is going to be a change in that direction,” Vasquez told KGW 8. “And I really want to deliver that to our community in a way that feels positive and hopeful, so that everyone in this community feels included, everyone feels like they can have a safe community where they can go to parks, they can go down the street and can really enjoy this wonderful, amazing city and county that we live in, and I’m just so hopeful for tonight.” Schmidt was elected in 2020, winning 77% of the vote. He started his role as the district attorney in August of that year, a term that began during the summer of the George Floyd riots that saw numerous businesses looted and vandalized and a police station set on fire. One of Schmidt’s first acts as DA was to institute a new policy stating his office would not prosecute George Floyd demonstrators who were charged with certain crimes such as interfering with a police officer, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, harassment, or rioting unless they committed “deliberate property damage, theft, or threat of force against another person.” After the riots died down, Portland continued to face high rates of violent crime. Despite a decrease in violent crimes in 2023 in the city, the homicide rate in Portland remained higher than reported numbers prior to 2019, according to Oregon Public Broadcasting. Shoplifting arrests also skyrocketed by 88% in 2023. Schmidt’s opponent Vasquez also promised to crack down on open-air drug use in Oregon’s largest city, a problem that has persisted since Oregon voters decriminalized possession of small amounts of drugs such as fentanyl and heroin in 2020. Last month, Oregon Democratic Governor Tina Kotek signed a bill into law that again criminalized the possession of hard drugs. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “The voters have made it clear that they are ready to take our county in a new and safer direction,” Vasquez said on Wednesday. “I am committed to ending open air drug dealing and drug use while helping connect individuals to treatment, to rebuilding the broken relationships between the DA’s office and the community, and to ensuring that victims are the number one priority of my office.”
