A statement from the movie house said that Potsy Ponciroli had been picked to write the script for the sequel, with Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger, and Holly Bario set to produce the adventure sequel for Amblin Entertainment, Variety reported. Original script-writer Chris Columbus is back to help produce the sequel with Lauren Shuler Donner set to executive produce, the outlet noted.
