Trump Heads To The UN Next Week. Will He Have His UN Ambassador?

President Donald Trump is heading to the United Nations next week for a monumental foreign policy speech to world leaders, and unless the Republican-led U.S. Senate goes into hyperdrive, he’ll do it with a Biden administration official as his UN ambassador. Trump nominated former congressman Mike Waltz to represent the United States at the United Nations nearly four months ago, and his nomination passed out of committee — for the second time — on Wednesday morning, leaving only a full senate vote between Waltz and confirmation. But with a packed legislative schedule and a wall of obstruction from Senate Democrats, many doubt the vote will take place in time to have him ready to go. If Waltz isn’t confirmed, Trump’s speech will be carried out with Dorothy Shea, who was nominated by President Joe Biden and confirmed last summer, as the acting ambassador. Jason Miller, one of Trump’s closest advisors outside of the White House, says that should be unacceptable, and Republicans should make his confirmation top priority. “Schumer and the Democrats have intentionally obstructed Senate action on the president’s nominees, the majority leader has the power to keep the Senate in session to assure that Mike Waltz and the president’s team is seated at the United Nations ahead of next week’s meeting of the General Assembly — and he should do so,” Miller told The Daily Wire. Asked about the Waltz nomination, the White House reiterated the urgency to have his team in place. “President Trump has been clear that he wants all of his nominees confirmed as quickly as possible,” a White House official told The Daily Wire. Republican Majority Leader John Thune’s office wouldn’t comment specifically on efforts to confirm Waltz by Monday, but said it shares Trump’s urgency. “Not only do we share the White House’s goal of confirming the president’s team as quickly as possible, we’ve demonstrated it — confirming the Cabinet at the fastest pace in 20 years and recently breaking the Democrats’ historic nominations blockade, which will allow us to begin clearing the mounting backlog,” a spokeswoman for Thune said. Thune has implemented plans to break the Democrat blockade. His procedural change allows for an unlimited number of federal nominations to be approved “en bloc” — simultaneously — so long as they were not judicial or cabinet-level positions. READ MORE: Senate Republicans Implement Plan To Push Through Federal Nominees As Shutdown Looms But this doesn’t apply for the United Nations post, the most prominent unfilled cabinet post in the Trump administration. It was originally slated to be filled by New York congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who stepped aside during the confirmation process to return to Congress and bolster the Republican majority. Waltz was tapped by Trump in May after a stint as the president’s top foreign policy advisor in the White House. Trump’s appearance comes as he works to negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, as well as an end to Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza. Trump has been a juggernaut on the world stage, and has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for his work to negotiate the end of conflicts around the world. READ MORE: Pax Trumpana: Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize Resume Secretary of State Marco Rubio has taken the lead on the United Nations ahead of the general assembly. Rubio blocked Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas from entering the country, in anticipation of a push for Palestinian statehood at the gathering of world leaders. Republicans almost certainly have the votes the confirm Waltz when the vote takes place. His nomination was delayed by Democrats, who managed to get Waltz and a handful of other nominees sent back to committee. He was approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee despite a “no” vote from Republican senator Rand Paul. Waltz has pledged to “Make the UN Great Again,” if confirmed.

The Freedom Grid: How Americans Can Beat Beijing and Take Back Our Power

This summer, as temperatures soared past 100 degrees, a memo from the Architect of the Capitol ordered Senate staffers to turn off hallway lights, power down their TVs and stop using elevators because the DC electric grid couldn’t handle the heat. It would have made for a great headline in the Babylon Bee: lawmakers in […]

EXCLUSIVE: Oklahoma Senator Reintroduces Bill Protecting Religious Groups on Campus

Sen. James Lankford says he will be reintroducing legislation Thursday to protect religious student organizations on campus from being discriminated against because of their religious beliefs, practices, or standards for leadership.  “Freedom of religion, speech, and association are constitutionally protected rights in every place in America, including America’s campuses,” Lankford, R-Okla., told The Daily Signal. Lankford is a longtime advocate for religious freedom on America’s college campuses, having urged the Biden administration to uphold Trump-era religious liberty protections in a public comment with several other senators and in a letter to then-Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. “This bill makes clear that public colleges must grant religious student organizations the same rights as every other student group. At a time when our nation needs hope and unity, the ability to exercise your faith must be protected, not cast aside,” the Oklahoma senator said of the legislation, initially introduced in March 2023. Lankford’s legislation, the Equal Campus Access Act of 2025, would prevent federal funding that is allocated under the Higher Education Act of 1965 from being awarded to any public institution of higher education that denies to a religious student organization any right or benefit it gives to other student groups because of the religious student organization’s religious beliefs, practices, or standards for leadership.  Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., is also set to speak on the legislation tomorrow with 24 senators co-sponsoring the bill. The legislation also will be introduced in the House of Representatives, where Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Mich., the chairman of the House Education Committee, is its sponsor.  “All too frequently, we hear about instances of students’ free speech and free association being restricted on college campuses, especially due to their religious beliefs,” Walberg told The Daily Signal. “While the Trump administration and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to protecting student liberties on campuses, we’ve seen other administrations try to undermine the foundational principle of academic freedom and the right to religious expression. Our legislation will ensure that future administrations cannot erode religious freedom and ideological diversity on college campuses,” the Michigan congressman said.  The legislation has been endorsed by 50 representatives of major religious organizations across the denominational and sectarian spectrum in the United States. That list includes Nathan Diament, the executive director of public policy for the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America; Basharat Saleem, the executive director at the Islamic Society of North America; Donna M. Carroll, the president of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities; and Galen Carey, the vice president of government relations at the National Association of Evangelicals.  Most of the religious leaders also signed a letter supporting the bill, which stated in part, “Faith-based student organizations should not face discrimination on college campuses  solely because they require their leaders to agree with their core religious beliefs. Basic religious freedom—and common sense—require that a religious group be permitted to require that its leaders agree with its religious message and mission. Unfortunately, on too  many college campuses, religious student organizations are denied this essential freedom.” The bill has also been endorsed by Alliance Defending Freedom, which is known for its legal defense of religious liberty.  The introduction of the legislation comes in the aftermath of the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, who was killed by a gunman Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. Kirk was a free speech activist known for standing up for Christian principles in the public square. Steve Deace: Charlie Kirk Was ‘the Best of Us’

This is a preview of this week’s episode of “The Signal Sitdown.” Watch Politics Editor Bradley Devlin’s interview with BlazeTV host and author Steve Deace on The Daily Signal’s YouTube channel. Episode premieres on Sept. 18 at 6:30 a.m. eastern time. Last week, the conservative movement lost “the best of us.” Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Sept. 10 for his conservative values and martyred for his unyielding faith in Jesus Christ, two things that made Charlie “the brightest light that we had,” says Steve Deace, a BlazeTV host and a personal friend of the Turning Point USA founder. Deace gives a special tribute to Charlie, who I got to know at a Turning Point event and later his visits to my college campus, on this week’s episode of “The Signal Sitdown.” Deace’s response to his friend’s death is raw, searing, and real. Charlie, Deace said, was “a true Renaissance man.” “A lot of people that have a vast giftedness become jack-of-all-trades master-of-none types where they’re just pretty good at a lot of things,” Deace explained. But “Charlie could could be an ace broker behind the scenes of political deals and alliances” and “Charlie could be one of the great evangelists and apologists of the era at the same time.” Their friendship had deepened in recent years as the Turning Point USA founder worked to bring the gospel to college campuses all across the country. Deace told The Daily Signal that “there was no difference from him publicly or privately.” “I had a chance in the last few months to have a few sit-down private dinners with Charlie,” Deace continued. “He was aware of the influence and power that he had, but it was in a self-aware way. It was not in a narcissistic way.” “What does the word ‘meek’ mean? When the Lord says, ‘The meek shall inherit the earth,’ what does that mean?” Deace asked rhetorically. “Because he didn’t say ‘weak,’ he said, ‘meek.’ Meek is power under control. In many respects, that was what we saw of Charlie Kirk.” Because Charlie was such a bright light, “the enemy wanted to take him out,” Deace said.  Charlie’s death has left a hole in the hearts of millions all over the world. It leaves an even larger hole in the conservative movement.  In many ways, that “void is impossible to fill,” Deace said. “It’s going to take a movement now that picks up the pieces of what happened to him.” To honor Charlie’s memory, it’s time for conservatives to “get more aggressive,” Deace continued. “We need to mourn, and it’s okay to mourn,” he said. “Frankly, his legacy demands that we do. And then, when we’re done, we clean off our faces, we wipe the last bit of tears from our eyes and snot from our nose, and we get up, and we get back on offense.” The post Steve Deace: Charlie Kirk Was ‘the Best of Us’ appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Patel Clashes With Democrats on Epstein Files, Touts Crime Fighting Stats

FBI Director Kash Patel fended off questions about the probe of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as House Democrats alleged a Trump administration coverup.  Patel returned to Capitol Hill for a second consecutive day of testimony Wednesday, and House Democrats were more single-minded messaging than Senate counterparts the previous day. Nearly every Democrat member of the House Judiciary Committee asked if the FBI was covering up an association between President Donald Trump and Epstein, whose 2019 death in a federal prison cell was ruled suicide.  Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., repeatedly asked Patel if he told Attorney General Pam Bondi that Trump’s name was in the Epstein files. Swalwell at one point started speaking slowly and loudly as he asked the question. “Did you tell the attorney general that Donald Trump’s name is in the Epstein files? Yes or no?” KASH PATEL: 'I’ve Been Busy Providing the Safest Country this Country Has Seen in Modern US History'During a lively exchange with Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., @FBIDirectorKash reiterated that the FBI has released "every piece of legally permissible information" pertaining to… pic.twitter.com/l4BFLXXFbD— The Daily Signal (@DailySignal) September 17, 2025 Swalwell even said, “bull—t” as they talked. Patel grew impatient with Swalwell and shot back, “I’m going to call bull—t” on your entire career in Congress. You’ve been a disgrace to the American people.” “Your fixation on this matter and baseless accusations that I’m hiding child pedophiles is disgusting,” Patel said.   The Justice Department is currently gradually releasing volumes of redacted documents to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in response to a subpoena.  Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., even told Patel, “You are part of the coverup.” But Rep. Thomas Tiffany, R-Wis., asked a key question regarding Trump.  “Director, is President Trump implicated in any wrongdoing related to Jeffrey Epstein?” Tiffany asked.  Patel replied, “Based on the entirety of the evidence that we have, absolutely not.” The FBI director blamed former U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta’s narrow investigation of Epstein. “The original sin on the Epstein case was how it was handled by Mr. Acosta when he first brought the case in 2006, 2007 and 2008,” Patel said. “The original case has a very limited search warrant, a very limited search window, a very limited investigative window. … It was limited to only three to four years of investigation from 1997 to 2001.”  Acosta was Trump’s first labor secretary, but stepped down because of his allowing Epstein to enter a sweetheart plea agreement to serve weekend jail terms.  On the Republican side, Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky sponsored legislation to require more disclosure of the Epstein files. Massie met with Epstein victims who said they gave the FBI information about others who were involved.  “We know these people exist in the FBI files, files that you control. I don’t know exactly who they are, but the FBI does. Have you launched any investigations into any of these people?” Massie said.  Patel said he wasn’t aware of this, but stressed, “The FBI will meet with anyone who has new information.”  Massie pressed, “Will you personally meet with them?” Kash again answered, “The FBI and the professionals handling the cases will.” Committee ranking member Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., pointed to media clips of Patel calling for full release of the Epstein files before he was the FBI director.  Patel responded that three federal courts have placed restrictions on what can be released.  KASH PATEL: ‘We’ve Released More Documents About Epstein Than Obama, Biden’During a heated exchange with Rep. Jamie Raskin over the full release of names of Jeffery Epstein’s co-conspirators, @FBIDirectorKash argued that the Trump administration has released more materials… pic.twitter.com/qq8kh5zfFQ— The Daily Signal (@DailySignal) September 17, 2025 “We’re talking about the evidence you’ve got, it has nothing to do with what those courts have,” Raskin snapped back. Patel replied, “Do you have any idea how the law works? Do you want me to break the law and a federal judge’s order?” “No, I want you to follow your own word, director,” Raskin said.  “We have gone to court, and everything we have direct control over, we have lawfully released,” Patel responded.  Patel noted past Democrat administrations took no action.  “Jeffrey Epstein was out for 12 years and the Obama-Biden administration did nothing to look at his work, his pedophile network,” Patel said.  Raskin said, “I’m blaming you.” “Has anyone released more Epstein information than I have? Did Comey or Wray?” Patel said, referring to his two predecessors as FBI director, James Comey and Christopher Ray. Raskin said, “It’s coming out in dribs and drabs. Why don’t you just release the entire file?” Patel said, “I literally just told you. There are multiple federal court orders. I’m not going to break the law just to satisfy your curiosity.”  During the hearing, Patel stressed that during his seven months as director, the FBI has increased arrests for violent crimes. “In just seven months—we are on track to produce the lowest murder rate in modern U.S. history by double digits,” Patel said.  House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, later pivoted to what the FBI isn’t doing, such as targeting Catholics and conservatives, as uncovered during the Biden administration.  “Is the FBI still spying on parents at school board meetings?” Jordan asked.  “No, sir,” the director said.  “Is the FBI still targeting Catholics?” Jordan said, getting the same response. In rapid fire, Jordan asked, “Is the FBI still censoring Americans?”  FBI Director Kash Patel Vs. Previous FBI Directors“Is the FBI still spying on parents at school board meetings?”“Is the FBI still targeting Catholics?”“Is the FBI still spying on President Trump?”“Is the FBI still censoring Americans?”“Is the FBI still targeting Americans… pic.twitter.com/SQzpnqsEn1— The Daily Signal (@DailySignal) September 17, 2025 “Is the FBI still targeting Americans for shopping at Cabela’s or purchasing Bibles?” Jordan asked. “Is the FBI still targeting Americans who are pro-life?” Jordan asked. “Is the FBI still labeling the Betsy Ross Flag, of the American Revolution, a ‘hate symbol?'” Jordan asked.  Getting a no on these and other questions, Jordan said, “Well, maybe that’s why you’ve been able to–what was the number, 23,000 bad guys you’ve arrested? … I think you said 1,400 predators? 4,000 children rescued?” “Maybe when you’re not focused on politics, you can focus on what the FBI is supposed to do: go get the bad guys,” Jordan followed.  Patel replied, “That’s what the men and women of the FBI do.” The post Patel Clashes With Democrats on Epstein Files, Touts Crime Fighting Stats appeared first on The Daily Signal.

SCOOP: Trump Admin Only Investigating Left-Wing Groups With Provable Ties to Violence After Kirk Assassination

The Trump administration will only investigate left-wing groups with a provable tie to violence following the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, an administration official told The Daily Signal. The focus of investigations will be Antifa-like groups involved in the online conspiracy to assassinate Turning Point USA founder Kirk on Sept. 10, the source said. This comes after Vice President JD Vance and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller on Monday discussed plans to “go after” leftist nongovernmental organizations, or NGOs, due to Kirk’s killing. “We’re going to go after the NGO network that foments, facilitates, and engages in violence,” Vance said. “We are going to channel all of the anger that we have over the organized campaign that led to this assassination, to uproot and dismantle these terrorist networks,” Miller said. Left-wing groups that don’t provide material support to violence will not be investigated because criticism of conservatives is protected as free speech, the administration official said. In a video address the night of Kirk’s death, Trump said his administration “will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it.” The suspect in the killing, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, appeared to take responsibility for the shooting on the messaging platform Discord. FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau is “investigating anyone and everyone involved in that Discord chat.” If an organization is found to be a material supporter of terrorism or violence, it could lose its legal status, the leadership could be punished, and individuals involved in a conspiracy could be criminally prosecuted, the administration official said. Groups found to be committing crimes could also have their assets forfeited. Students for Justice in Palestine is an example of an organization that could be investigated for inciting violence on college campuses, the official said. At George Mason University in the Washington suburbs of Northern Virginia, police found guns, ammunition, and Hamas and Hezbollah paraphernalia at the president of the SJP chapter’s house. If SJP is conspiring to commit criminal acts, the DOJ could investigate it. SJP did not immediately respond to a request for comment on an online form. The Supreme Court’s 1969 ruling in Brandenburg v. Ohio established a two-pronged test to evaluate speech acts: Speech can be prohibited if it is “directed at inciting or producing imminent lawless action” and it is “likely to incite or produce such action.” Attorney General Pam Bondi recently came under fire for saying the Justice Department would “absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech.” She later clarified that the “Department of Justice will be unabashed in our efforts to root out credible, violent threats.” “We will investigate organizations that pursue illegal activities, engage in political violence, violate our civil rights, and commit tax or nonprofit fraud,” Bondi’s statement said. The Trump administration will protect all free speech, unless it crosses into a call for violence, the official said. How to Choose the Best Dog Safety Seat for Your Car

How to Choose the Best Dog Safety Seat for Your Car

Car accidents injure over 100,000 pets annually in the United States. A proper dog safety seat car system can reduce injury risk by up to 75% during sudden stops or collisions. We at DogingtonPost tested dozens of safety seats to help you protect your furry passenger. The right choice depends on your dog’s size, your vehicle type, and specific safety features that matter most. Which Dog Safety Seat Type Works Best Dog safety seats fall into three distinct categories, each designed for specific situations and dog sizes. Booster seats elevate small dogs under 25 pounds and provide window visibility while they secure them with integrated harnesses. The Center for Pet Safety conducted a pet seat pilot study to determine general crash performance of these popular travel tools for small dogs. The Kong Ultimate Booster Seat stands out as an exception and uses ISOFIX connection points that handle impact forces effectively. Harness-Style Systems Offer Maximum Security Harness-style car seats combine a protective seat structure with crash-tested restraint systems. The Sleepypod harness earned top safety ratings by maintaining a two-finger fit rule while it distributes crash forces across the dog’s chest. These systems work best for dogs that weigh 15 to 60 pounds and attach directly to vehicle seat belts. The CarSafe harness prevents the failure rate that standard pet harnesses show during accidents. Carrier-Style Seats Provide Complete Protection Carrier-style safety seats offer enclosed protection similar to airline-approved pet carriers but with automotive crash certification. The Diggs Travel Pet Carrier and Gunner G1 Kennel both pass rigorous 30 mph crash tests while they accommodate dogs up to 70 pounds. These seats prevent the projectile effect that kills unrestrained pets in 35% of vehicle accidents. The Tavo Maeve Pet Protection System meets UN ECE child restraint standards (making it the only dog seat with human-grade safety certification). Installation requires proper measurements since too much interior space allows dangerous movement during impact. Size Compatibility Determines Safety Performance Each seat type performs best within specific weight ranges and vehicle configurations. Small dogs under 15 pounds need booster seats with secure tether systems, while medium dogs (15-45 pounds) benefit from harness-style options that distribute forces effectively. Large dogs over 45 pounds require carrier-style seats with reinforced walls and multiple anchor points. Vehicle compatibility matters equally-compact cars limit carrier options while SUVs accommodate all three types with proper installation techniques. Now that you understand the three main safety seat categories, the next step involves evaluating specific features that separate effective protection from marketing claims. What Safety Features Actually Matter Proper measurements determine whether a safety seat protects or fails your dog during impact. Measure your dog from the base of their neck to the base of their tail, then add their height when seated and their weight. The Center for Pet Safety disqualifies seats that allow more than two inches of movement in any direction during their 30 mph crash tests. Dogs that weigh 10-15 pounds need seats with 16-18 inch interior dimensions, while 30-40 pound dogs require 24-26 inch spaces. Weight capacity ratings from manufacturers often exceed actual safety limits by 20-30 percent, so choose seats rated for at least 25 percent more than your dog’s current weight. Crash Test Results Separate Marketing From Reality Only seats tested by independent organizations like the Center for Pet Safety provide reliable safety data. The CPS pilot study revealed that popular seats like the Snoozer Lookout I and PetSmart Top Paw Booster failed completely during impact, with anchor straps that disconnected and dogs that became projectiles. The Tavo Maeve remains the only dog seat that meets UN ECE R129 standards, while the Sleepypod harness passed all CPS crash scenarios. Avoid seats with extension tethers, plastic buckles, or single-point attachment systems since these components fail under crash forces. Look for seats with multiple anchor points, reinforced stitches tested to 2,000 pounds of force, and metal hardware throughout the restraint system. Installation Compatibility Prevents Dangerous Failures ISOFIX connection points provide the strongest installation method and handle up to 3,000 pounds of force compared to 1,200 pounds for seat belt installations. The Kong Ultimate Booster Seat uses ISOFIX exclusively, while most carrier-style seats require both ISOFIX and top tether anchor points. Seat belt installations work only when the belt locks properly during impact – test this when you pull hard on the belt after installation. Vehicle compatibility charts from manufacturers often contain errors, so verify fit with your specific car model and year before you purchase. Compact cars limit carrier options to seats under 20 inches wide, while pickup trucks may lack proper anchor points for any safety seat installation. Material Quality Affects Long-Term Performance High-quality materials determine how well a safety seat performs over time and multiple impacts. Reinforced fabrics resist tears during crashes (while cheap materials split under stress), and metal buckles maintain their strength after repeated use. Fiber-filled cushions mold to your dog’s shape and provide consistent support, unlike foam that compresses permanently after impact. Removable, machine-washable covers help you maintain hygiene without compromising safety features. The construction quality becomes apparent when you examine stitch patterns, hardware thickness, and overall build integrity. Now that you understand which safety features provide real protection, you can evaluate specific products that deliver proven performance in real-world crash scenarios. Which Dog Safety Seats Actually Protect Your Pet The Tavo Maeve Pet Protection System stands as the only dog safety seat that meets UN ECE R129 child restraint standards, which makes it the gold standard for automotive pet protection. This carrier-style seat costs $299 but transforms into a stroller for versatility beyond vehicle travel. The Sleepypod harness system ranks second with a perfect Center for Pet Safety crash test record and works for dogs that weigh 15-60 pounds at $179. Both products use metal hardware exclusively and feature reinforced stitches tested to 2,000 pounds of force. Budget Options That Still Pass Safety Tests The GunDog Intermediate Kennel delivers Center for Pet Safety certification at $149, which makes it the most affordable crash-tested option for dogs up to 45 pounds. This carrier weighs 18 pounds compared to the 28-pound Gunner G1 Kennel but maintains identical safety performance during 30 mph impact tests. The Kong Ultimate Booster Seat provides ISOFIX installation for small dogs at $89 and eliminates the anchor strap failures that plague cheaper alternatives like the Snoozer Lookout I. Premium Features Worth The Investment The Gunner G1 Kennel justifies its $495 price with aircraft-grade aluminum construction and compatibility with both automotive and airline travel. This 28-pound carrier accommodates dogs up to 70 pounds and features ventilation systems that maintain airflow during long trips (essential for anxious travelers). The Luther Bennett Travel Pod doubles as a luxury dog bed at destinations while it provides crash protection equivalent to the Tavo Maeve at $349. Premium seats include removable, machine-washable covers and fiber-filled cushions that mold to your dog’s shape for comfort during extended travel. Safety Performance Comparison Independent crash tests reveal significant performance differences between certified and uncertified products. The Center for Pet Safety pilot study showed that popular seats like the PetSmart Top Paw Booster and Kurgo Skybox failed completely during impact scenarios (with connections that broke and dogs that became projectiles). Certified seats maintain their structural integrity and keep dogs secure within the two-inch movement limit that safety experts recommend. The Tavo Maeve and Sleepypod harness both passed all crash test scenarios without component failure or excessive pet movement. Final Thoughts The most important safety features in any dog safety seat car system include crash test certification from independent organizations, proper size measurements that limit movement to two inches, and multiple anchor points with metal hardware. Weight capacity ratings should exceed your dog’s weight by 25 percent to account for impact forces. Test seat belt locks after installation and verify ISOFIX connections click securely into place. Dogs under 25 pounds need the Kong Ultimate Booster Seat with ISOFIX installation at $89 for optimal protection. Medium dogs that weigh 15-60 pounds perform best with the Sleepypod harness system at $179, which passed all Center for Pet Safety crash tests. Large dogs over 45 pounds require carrier-style seats like the Tavo Maeve Pet Protection System (which meets UN ECE R129 standards despite its $299 price). Over 100,000 pets suffer injuries in car accidents annually, but proper restraint systems reduce this risk by 75 percent. Measure your dog’s dimensions carefully and check vehicle compatibility before purchase. We at DogingtonPost test products and provide expert advice to help you make informed decisions about your dog’s safety.
