As I said during my recap of the Sunday shows‚ to accept the idea that people who are the elite in the industry of communicating with words are suddenly unable to comprehend plain English requires multiple significant suspensions of disbelief. That’s not to say that some of these elites are not intellectually deficient. But not to this extent. Which leaves willful deception as the only likely reason why reporters‚ correspondents and anchors would‚ in near unanimity continue to promote Trump’s assessment of damage to the American automotive industry under a second Biden term as both a violent threat and a January 6th-adjacent attack against democracy. The ABC team also did Team Biden a solid by referring to the violent immigrants Trump called “not people” as “certain migrants”- an obvious rehash of TWO immigration hoaxes. First in 2015 when Trump referred to certain illegal immigrants as “criminals and rapists” and in 2019 when Trump referred to MS-13 as “animals”. The hoax being that Trump smeared all immigrants‚ when he was clearly referring to a specific criminal element. In so doing‚ ABC attempts to conflate legal‚ lawful immigrants with the violent criminals that killed Laken Riley‚ raped a teenager in Virginia‚ raped and murdered an 11-year-old girl in Texas‚ and beat New York cops down right in the middle of Times Square‚ among many other such cases too numerous to list here. DONALD TRUMP: We're going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line‚ and you're not gonna be able to sell those guys‚ if I get elected. He started the Ohio event Saturday telling the audience to stand and pay tribute to those who attacked the Capitol on January 6th‚ trying to stop the certification of Biden's election win. Many of whom have been convicted of serious crimes ranging from assaulting officers to seditious conspiracy. TRUMP: And they were unbelievable patriots.  PARKS: Biden's campaign firing back.  MICHAEL TYLER: What I heard was a continuation of the same rhetoric‚ the same endorsement of political violence we’ve seen from Donald Trump for years.  PARKS: Trump also ramping up his dehumanizing rhetoric toward certain migrants‚ with the border battle a major election issue.  TRUMP: If you call them people‚ I don't know if you call them people‚ in some cases‚ they're not people in my opinion. But I'm not allowed to say that because the radical left says that's a terrible thing to say.  PARKS: Trump doubling down on his comments today. TRUMP: If you don't use certain rhetoric‚ if you don't use certain words and maybe are not very nice words‚ nothing will happen.  PARKS: Now Mary‚ the Biden campaign also today said that it raised $53 million with the Democratic National Committee in February. That they now have more than $150 million in cash on hand. That's interesting because it's a considerable fund-raising advantage compared to Trump and the Republican National Committee. They haven't released their February numbers but had about $40 million cash on hand in January. Mary.  BRUCE: And the general election just getting started. Maryalice‚ thank you.

Archaeologists have discovered a 1‚000-year-old bone skate in the basement of a house in the central Moravian city of PÅ™erov‚ Czech Republic. The skate was made of animal bone‚ likely the metacarpal (shin bone) of a horse. Fragments of pottery found around the blade date it to the 10th or 11th century. Archaeologists from the Comenius Museum made the discovery during a rescue excavation in the Upper Square of the city. At the time when the skate was made‚ the Upper Square area was on a hill overlooking the left bank of the Bečva River. There wasn’t a city of PÅ™erov yet‚ but rather an agglomeration of small settlements dotting the branches of the Bečva. The Upper Square was first a fortified square and then a fortress built by Polish King Boleslav the Brave after his conquest of Moravia in 1003. Archaeologist ZdenÄ›k Schenk: “The object has a specific shape. On one side‚ it is curved into a tip which has a hole drilled in it and there is another hole at the back. They were used to thread a strap through‚ which was used to attach the skate to a shoe or to a wooden sledge.” The hole was pierced through the end of the lower end of the metacarpal that connected to the phalanx bone (ie‚ the toe). The surface of the bone is still polished after a thousand years‚ suggesting it saw significant use. It is small so was worn by someone with petite feet‚ perhaps a woman or child. It could also have been mounted under a transport sled instead of a shoe. “Rather than skating‚ they would shuffle along the frozen surface with the help of a stick or two. They would also attach the blades to sledges to carry a load of goods across the frozen water.” Similar ice skates made from animal bones have been found in other parts of central and northwestern Europe. They typically date to around the same time — 10th or 11th century. Far older examples dating back 3‚500 years have been found in China. The bone skate will go on display at the Comenius Museum in PÅ™erov Castle.
