Nearly Two Million Bottles Of Water Recalled, Bacterial Contamination Concerns

Fiji Water recalled approximately 1.9 million bottles sold on Amazon due to concerns of manganese and bacterial contamination. “The FDA announced on May 23 that 78,533 cases of Fiji Natural Artesian Water had been recalled due to manganese and three bacterial genera,” Daily Mail reports. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a recall of 1.9 million Fiji Water bottles due to manganese and other bacteria. https://t.co/4s70zuSxhl — Real Simple (@RealSimple) June 1, 2024 Per Daily Mail: Fiji’s parent company Natural Waters of Viti Limited initiated the repeal in March when they were notified of complaints of discoloration in the contaminated products. FDA testing found traces of contamination in the products deemed likely to have been affected, but ruled it’s ‘not likely to cause adverse health consequences’. The brand is popular among influencers and trendsetters, and often sponsors red carpet events. 1.9 million bottles of Fiji Water recalled after testing finds high levels of manganese, which can cause brain damage pic.twitter.com/IaFaMTXhMa — Daily Loud (@DailyLoud) May 29, 2024 “Firm testing revealed Manganese in addition to three bacterial genera,” the FDA stated. “Fiji Natural Artesian Water 500 mL (24 pack) Case UPC Code: 6 32565 00004 3 Bottle UPC Code: 6 32565 00001 2,” the agency added. Nearly 1.9 million Fiji water bottles sold through Amazon recalled over bacteria, manganese https://t.co/QsMF0uSQCE — USA TODAY (@USATODAY) May 30, 2024 From NJ.com: A Class III recall, according to the FDA, is “a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences.” FIJI also released a statement confirming that the water was safe to consume despite the recall in March. “FIJI Water remains safe to buy and consume. This is a quality issue only affecting the specific lots sold on Amazon.com between Feb. 1, 2024, and March 3, 2024, with PRD dates of Nov. 11, 2023, Nov. 12, 2023, Nov. 13, 2023, Nov. 24, 2023, and Nov. 25, 2023,” the company said. Manganese is a mineral your body needs to remain healthy, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). “Studies have not shown any harm from the manganese in food and beverages, but some people have developed manganese toxicity by consuming water containing very high levels of manganese,” the NIH says. Inhaling large amounts of manganese dust from welding or mining work can also cause manganese toxicity.

DOD Makes Clown World! Welcome DOD!

PRIDE month is UPON US, and it’s non-stop as if who you sleep with is something to celebrate. It’s also PTSD awareness month. The DOD made an embarrassing mistake and combined the two. Bonchie, an author at Redstate, did a good job with it. They straightened it out, and apparently, our war department thinks we […] The post DOD Makes Clown World! Revised Drake equation estimates new number of alien civilizations

The question “are we alone” continues to be one of the deepest philosophical questions facing humanity. The notion that we might be the sole bearers of civilization in thee universe seems implausible, yet concrete evidence of space brothers remains elusive. The Fermi Paradox underscores this tension, pointing out the discrepancy between the high probability of alien civilizations and our lack of contact with such entities. This paradox suggests two possibilities: either extraterrestrial life is nonexistent, or it is so uncommon that encountering it would be extraordinarily unlikely. On the other hand, the Drake Equation offers a method to estimate the number of advanced civilizations within our galaxy. Historically, this equation has suggested a wide range of possible civilizations, with estimates by SETI pioneer Frank Drake himself ranging from 1,000 to 100,000,000 within the Milky Way. However, as scientific knowledge advances, researchers have revisited these calculations with fresh data. A key focus of their recalibration is the role of plate tectonics in fostering life. Researchers argue that tectonic activity, which brings new rocks to the surface, is vital for the delivery of phosphorus and other inorganic nutrients essential for life. “Tectonic processes exposing fresh rocks on the surface are crucial for enhancing delivery of [phosphorus] and other inorganic nutrients,” they wrote. “The addition of [phosphorus], [iron] and other nutrients from erosion and weathering of Ediacaran collisional mountains broke the Mesoproterozoic nutrient drought, stimulating life and evolution.” They point out that the influx of nutrients from the erosion of ancient mountain ranges likely ended a significant period of nutrient scarcity, catalyzing biological activity and evolution. Initial estimates from this new model ranged from 0.006 to 100,000 intelligent civilizations. Yet, this figure is not definitive, as it must also factor in the self-destructive tendencies of civilizations through nuclear warfare, artificial intelligence, pandemics, and other existential threats. Indiana man arrested after stealing liquor truck to pay off drug debts: Report

A man in Indiana reportedly stole a liquor truck in a bar parking lot so that he could sell the alcohol inside to pay off his drug debts, according to the New York Post.Beau Burchel, 39, was just sitting in his car when he saw the liquor truck pull into the Cheers Bar in Muncie on Thursday. When the driver stepped out, Burchel stole the truck and the $12,000 worth of beer and liquor inside.'Approximately 4,000 Hoosiers have died from opioids in the last decade.'When the truck was finally reported stolen, the authorities in Muncie located the truck in a cornfield behind a banquet hall. The cornfield is about two miles away from where the truck was initially parked, according to News Nation.Once they spotted the vehicle, the police reportedly witnessed Burchel dash into the woods near the edge of the field. He was ultimately discovered hiding under a bush and taken into custody. When he was questioned by the authorities, Burchel admitted to stealing the truck and said he planned to sell all the alcohol inside to pay off debts he had in the drug world. The police estimated the truck was worth approximately $50,000, and they also found a skid steer loader, which was worth another $60,000. Burchel admitted to stealing the skid steer and turning off the GPS unit so he could not be electronically tracked. The truck was found to be damaged after Burchel ripped out the camera and GPS system. And all of the liquor and beer were still safely secured inside the truck. He was charged with felony theft charges and held on a $20,000 bond, according to the New York Post.Indiana University previously reported that the state has experienced an addiction crisis. Approximately one in 12 Hoosiers, "almost half a million people, meet the criteria for having a substance use disorder."The report noted:- Drug overdoses in Indiana have nearly doubled since 2010, growing from 923 to 1,809 in 2017.- Approximately 4,000 Hoosiers have died from opioids in the last decade.- Indiana’s drug-induced mortality rate quadrupled between 2000 and 2014.- More Hoosiers now die from drug overdoses than car crashes.- Between 2012 and 2016, deaths related to synthetic opioids in Indiana increased over 600 percent. It is uncertain who Burchel allegedly owed the money to, or if the authorities are pursuing the individual or group.Like Blaze News?
