10 Green Day Songs Fans Love The Most

Let us travel back to the day when flannel shirts wrapped around the waist were all the rave. Jeans were the only thing to wear‚ and the boys grew out their hair along with goatees. Music from Nirvana‚ The Offspring‚ Sublime and The Red Hot Chili Peppers dominated the airways and music videos still dominated MTV. The year was 1994 when the music group Green Day exploded onto the scene with their witty lyrics and head-banging ballads. Although the group was formed in 1986‚ they didn’t enter mainstream culture until the public first heard the iconic song “Basket Case.” In The post 10 Green Day Songs Fans Love The Most appeared first on ClassicRockHistory.com.

Case Against Mayorkas Is ‘Irrefutable‚’ Rep. Mark Green Says of Filing of 2 Articles of Impeachment

The House Homeland Security Committee on Sunday released two articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.   “His lawless behavior was exactly what the Framers gave us the impeachment power to remedy‚” Rep. Mark Green‚ R-Tenn.‚ said of Mayorkas.   The two impeachment articles “lay out a clear‚ compelling and irrefutable case for Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ impeachment‚” said Green‚ who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee.   The first article asserts that Mayorkas has failed to enforce America’s border and immigration laws and has instead executed policies that incentivize illegal immigration.   The second article contends that Mayorkas is in breach of public trust and has knowingly made false statements to Congress and the American people.   Articles-of-ImpeachmentDownload “He has willfully and systemically refused to comply with immigration laws enacted by Congress‚” Green said. “He has breached the public trust by knowingly making false statements to Congress and the American people‚ and obstructing congressional oversight of his department. These facts are beyond dispute‚ and the results of his lawless behavior have been disastrous for our country.”  In April 2022‚ appearing before Congress‚ Mayorkas was asked by Rep. Chip Roy‚ R-Texas: “Will you testify under oath right now: Do we have operational control [of the border]‚ yes or no?”      “Yes‚ we do‚” Mayorkas responded.     The Secure Fence Act of 2006 defines operational control as “prevention of all unlawful entries into the United States‚ including entries by terrorists‚ other unlawful aliens‚ instruments of terrorism‚ narcotics‚ and other contraband.”    During another hearing last July‚ Roy said Mayorkas was dishonest with the American people when he claimed to have operational control of the border even as thousands of illegal aliens were crossing the border daily.   .@RepChipRoy says Sec. Mayorkas has lied to him and to Congress. pic.twitter.com/tfH18Eoav8— Virginia Allen (@Virginia_Allen5) July 26‚ 2023 Under Mayorkas’ leadership within the Biden administration‚ Customs and Border Protection has encountered more than 8.5 million illegal aliens at America’s borders. The exact number of those illegal aliens who have been released into the U.S. is not publicly reported‚ but during a closed-door meeting with Border Patrol agents in Eagle Pass‚ Texas‚ on Jan. 8‚ Mayorkas reportedly said that more than 85% of the illegal migrants encountered at the border are released into the country.   Since Mayorkas was sworn in to his post on Feb. 2‚ 2021‚ CBP has confiscated more than 53‚000 lbs. of fentanyl. CBP has also apprehended more than 300 individuals on America’s terrorist watchlist between ports of entry in that same time.   “Empowered and enriched cartels‚ mass fentanyl poisonings‚ surges of terror watchlist suspects‚ more criminal illegal aliens causing harm in our communities‚ and traumatized and exploited migrants will be Secretary Mayorkas’ open-borders legacy‚” Green said.   The Tennessee lawmaker claims that “Secretary Mayorkas has also completely disregarded the separation of powers‚ a bedrock of our constitutional republic.” “Congress has a duty to see that the executive branch implements and enforces the laws we have passed. Yet Secretary Mayorkas has repeatedly refused to do so‚” the committee chairman said.   Green called Mayorkas’ actions an “affront to a coequal branch of government‚ to the Constitution‚ and to the American people‚ seriously. The House of Representatives must impeach Secretary Mayorkas.”  The committee is scheduled to convene Tuesday for a markup of the two impeachment articles.   Asked about the impeachment proceedings against him during a CNN interview in early January‚ Mayorkas praised the “tireless dedication” of his colleagues at the Department of Homeland Security‚ adding that he is “incredibly proud of coming to work every day and leaving the office‚ as late as it may be‚ having done the work with such extraordinary people.”   The committee’s decision to move forward with the impeachment of Mayorkas follows a five-phase investigation into Mayorkas‚ in which 10 public hearings examined these topics:  “DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ Dereliction of Duty.”   “DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas Has Emboldened Cartels‚ Criminals and America’s Enemies.”   “The Devastating Human Costs of the DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ Open-Borders Policies.”   “The Historic Dollar Costs of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ Open-Borders Policies.”   “The Massive Waste and Abuse Enabled by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.”    Even if the House votes to impeach Mayorkas‚ it’s unlikely that two-thirds of the Senate would vote to remove him from office‚ given that Democrats control the upper chamber.    Have an opinion about this article? Elon Musk To Fund Legal Challenges To Ireland’s Oppressive “Hate Speech” Legislation

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Elon Musk has issued a warning against new proposals on “hate speech” regulation in Ireland. During the discussion with Gript‚ he relayed his fears that the proposed rules could leave the Irish citizenry subject to politicians’ breadth of interpretations of “hate speech‚” thus potentially infringing freedom of speech. Going further‚ Musk committed financial support towards opposing the proposed law through legal means. Display content from Twitter Click here to display content from Twitter. Learn more in Twitter’s privacy policy. Always display content from Twitter Open content directly According to Musk‚ the ability of the Irish politicians to define hate speech based on personal interpretations poses a real danger to free speech‚ which he sees as fundamental to any democratic society. Musk made his comments about the Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offenses) Bill. Once passed by the Dáil‚ the principal chamber of the Irish parliament‚ the bill hit a stumbling block in the Senate. Nonetheless‚ Justice Minister Helen McEntee emphasized the bill’s progression this year. Further critiques of the proposed law‚ labeled as authoritarian‚ point to the lack of a legal definition of hate and the potential overreach of authority‚ such as the seizure of personal electronic devices and prison sentences for possession of supposed hateful content. Last year‚ Musk committed to covering legal charges for X users who unfairly faced employer retribution due to their activity on the platform. Even corporations drawing his ire due to the unfair treatment of X users were not safe from potential legal consequences. In a case involving X‚ the company’s legal team defended an Illinois student threatened with disciplinary action by his university over posts made on the platform. An advocate for freedom of speech rights‚ Musk posted‚ “We will do whatever it takes to support your right to free speech‚” when the legal action was announced. SHAMELESS: New York Blames Trump‚ Republicans for the Border Crisis

The pro-Biden media display their chutzpah when they attempt to blame a former president for everything that's gone wrong at the border under President Biden. We're pointing out on social media that the amount has quadrupled under Biden‚ as he came into office and immediately dismantled Trump's border-control measures:  Biden's Border Invasion pic.twitter.com/qplhzKJg1f — MRCTV (@mrctv) January 28‚ 2024 New York Times congressional reporter Annie Karni provided Exhibit A in media chutzpah on Friday's front page. The headline:  Trump Strengthens Grip on Capitol Hill as He Presses Toward Nomination The former president’s opposition has all but killed the prospects for a bipartisan border deal‚ reflecting how his influence in Congress has grown as he gains ground in the Republican primary. In Karni's narrative‚ Trump is the villain‚ pressing "inexperienced" House Speaker Mike Johnson into doing his will. For months‚ Senate Republicans have been working with Democrats on a deal they have described as a once-in-a-generation opportunity for a conservative border security bill‚ and for weeks‚ they have hinted that they are tantalizingly close to an agreement. Their timing could not be worse. As former President Donald J. Trump moves closer to becoming his party's presidential nominee and Republican lawmakers consolidate behind him‚ he is wielding a heavier hand than any time since leaving office over his party's agenda in Congress. His vocal opposition to the emerging border compromise has all but killed the measure's chances in a divided Congress as he puts his own hard-line immigration policies once again at the center of his presidential campaign.  Democrats are never "hardline" when they repeal the other party's "hardline" policies. It's always assumed to be the essence of moderation. Nowhere in this article is the notion that President Biden has the executive powers to toughen the border without Congress -- just as he used his executive powers right at the beginning to loosen Trump's border policies. The pollsters at Tipp Insights were amazed at this story:  In short‚ we are gobsmacked by the Times's chutzpah for pinning the border situation on Trump. As far as laying the blame goes‚ the Times hit a new low by holding Trump accountable for not solving a crisis that the Democrats‚ led by President Biden‚ have allowed for three solid years to fester and cripple the nation. What an irony that the Times and the media would attempt to shift voters' perceptions on this issue. Americans perceive Trump as stronger on immigration than Biden by a margin of 14 points. This is the closest that Karni came to Biden's responsibilities‚ and it's not that close. It puts the notion of Biden's failure as a wild charge made by that hardliner Trump:  Attacking Mr. Biden’s handling of the border is already a main plank of Mr. Trump’s campaign. He has accused Mr. Biden of instituting “open border” policies that allow terrorists and fentanyl to pour into the country‚ while vowing to build “even more wall” along the southern border. A Trump campaign ad claims that Mr. Biden’s immigration policies raise “the possibility of a Hamas attack” in the United States. This is how Democrat papers write Democrat stories and expect everyone to accept it as the Objective Gospel.

US says progress is being made on a deal to release remaining Israeli hostages‚ bring temporary stop to war

The U.S. is reportedly in the process of negotiating a potential agreement that would see Israel pausing military operations against Hamas in Gaza for two months. During that time‚ Hamas would be expected to release 100 hostages that were captured on October 7‚ according to the Associated Press. The report noted that the information was revealed by two senior administration officials who wished to remain anonymous. The deal‚ if it goes through‚ would play out in two phases. The first phase would see the fighting stopped‚ allowing the remaining women‚ elderly‚ and wounded hostages to be released by the terrorist groups. The second phase would play out over the following 30 days‚ where Israel would try to find a path for the remaining Israeli soldiers and civilian men to be released. The deal also reportedly calls for the Jewish state to allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza without conflict. The New York Times reported on Saturday that President Joe Biden spoke with leaders of Egypt and Qatar over the phone on Friday. The two countries have served as intermediaries between Hamas and Israel since the conflict began in early October.Biden is also expected to send CIA Director William Burns to Paris to speak with officials from Israel‚ Egypt‚ and Qatar. If all goes well in the meeting‚ Biden would then send Brett McGurk‚ the president's Middle East coordinator‚ back over to the region to finalize the agreement‚ per the report. After Biden's conversation with Qatar's prime minister‚ the White House released a statement on Friday that said "[b]oth leaders affirmed that a hostage deal is central to establishing a prolonged humanitarian pause in the fighting and ensure additional lifesaving humanitarian assistance reaches civilians in need throughout Gaza."“They underscored the urgency of the situation and welcomed the close cooperation among their teams to advance recent discussions.”Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a statement on Sunday‚ reiterating his commitment to secure the release of the remaining hostages that were not released in November. “As of today‚ we have returned 110 of our hostages and we are committed to returning all of them home‚” Netanyahu said. “We are dealing with this and we are doing so around the clock‚ including now.”While temporary ceasefires are being considered‚ there is currently no information on a long-term peace deal in the region.Like Blaze News?
