Fiscal Hawks Make Urgent Demand For ‘DOGE Cuts’

A key group of fiscal conservatives is calling on the GOP-led House to immediately get to work on passing President Donald Trump’s first second-term rescissions package slated to be sent to Congress this week. In an “Official Position” released Monday, the House Freedom Caucus argued that codifying spending cuts sought by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative should be a top priority for lawmakers, who just returned to Capitol Hill after the Memorial Day recess. “When the White House submits its first rescissions package to enact DOGE spending cuts to Congress, the House of Representatives should immediately move this to the floor for swift passage,” the group said. “The House Freedom Caucus strongly supports these critical rescissions, and we will support as many more rescissions packages the White House can send us in the coming weeks and months.” Altogether, the rescissions package is expected to cover roughly $9.4 billion. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which provides funds to NPR and PBS, as well as foreign aid are slated to be the targets of the first request to claw back funds appropriated by Congress. More rescissions packages could follow. “These first DOGE cuts target taxpayer-funded public broadcasters notorious for their liberal bias like NPR and PBS, as well as billions in wasteful foreign aid dollars. Passing this rescissions package will be an important demonstration of Congress’s willingness to deliver on DOGE and the Trump agenda,” the House Freedom Caucus said. Get 40% Off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships “While the Swamp will inevitably attempt to slow and kill these cuts, there is no excuse for a Republican House not to advance the first DOGE rescissions package the same week it is presented to Congress then quickly send it for passage in the Republican Senate so President Trump can sign it into law,” the group added. Dealing with a narrow majority and Democrats who largely vote in a block against anything they do, House GOP leaders have been under pressure from many in the Republican rank-and-file to codify the DOGE cuts, particularly after the lower chamber narrowly passed the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” that is estimated to add trillions of dollars to the national debt. Fiscal hawks who do not think enough is being done to rein in spending could revolt if the Senate makes changes to the legislation, and it gets sent back to the House. The Trump administration wants the bill ready to go by July 4. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has listed rescissions as being one of two actions the House will take based on findings from the DOGE initiative, in addition to using the appropriations process to “swiftly implement” Trump’s proposed 2026 budget. “When the White House sends its rescissions package to the House, we will act quickly by passing legislation to codify the cuts,” he said in a Wednesday post on X.

LA Democrats play games to thwart Christian gathering — but learn unforgettable lesson

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Along Hollywood Boulevard this past Saturday, the blue and pink flags waving in the street might have been mistaken for the bisexual pride flag, but closer inspection showed the message actually being pushed by the people gathering there: Don't mess with our kids.Christians gathered for a worship service right outside of the TCL Chinese Theatre on the eve of Pride Month to offer a different worldview in the touristy area. Right before the event was set to take place, organizer Ross Johnston posted an email sent by the Democrat-majority city explaining that local leaders were canceling the permit the organizers had applied for because they needed a different permit."It is a Concert/Performance that requires a Boss Permit. Just because it is religious, it does not default to a 1st Amendment Right," the email stated. "The Police Department and the Police Commission will not continue to permit this event under a 1st Amendment permit," it continued. The email went on to say that most event permits in Los Angeles are BOSS permits. — (@) In spite of the runaround Mayday USA organizers were getting from the city, Johnston encouraged people to show up anyway. Los Angeles police officers did provide security once worshippers gathered and the sound equipment was being set up."The mindset was really simple: We are Christian, but are not standing just for Christians. We're standing for Americans," Johnston told Blaze Media when the event ended. He added that the Democrats have no problem approving permits for the Pride parades set to take place this month in the same area."Do what we did here today," Johnston said to Christians who run into similar problems. "What does that show? If you actually exercise your First Amendment right legally, lawfully, and peacefully, then nobody can stop you. And this is important for the church because we've done great in the building, but we don't do much outside the building."RELATED: Christians attacked by Antifa during prayer meeting — but the mayor blames ‘far-right’ attendees Kainoa Little/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images The service in Los Angeles comes after a previous Mayday USA event in Seattle that was attacked by radical Antifa and LGBTQ+ activists. Seattle police arrested dozens of far-leftists as Christians continued their event. Democrat Mayor Bruce Harrell blamed the Christians for the violence because the event took place at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle's LGBTQ+ neighborhood, but Mayday USA organizers proved that the city told them to go to Cal Anderson Park instead of their first option.Seattle-based Pastor Russell Johnson said his community is calling for Harrell to resign, as the Justice Department and FBI are investigating the city for religious discrimination. Saturday's event in L.A. saw no violence like in Seattle. Only a few counterprotesters showed up and mainly stayed on the outskirts of the service.Watch the video of the event below: Like Blaze News? Bing Video Creator is a free tool powered by OpenAI’s Sora text-to-video AI model

The tidal wave of artificial intelligence integration continues this week as Microsoft rolls out the new, free Bing Video Creator in the Bing mobile app. Believe it or not, it's now been two years since Microsoft brought the Bing Image Creator to life, giving users access to AI image generation directly from its search engine. This April, Microsoft added even more AI functionality with the introduction of Copilot Search in Bing, and now, Bing users will have the ability to create short videos with AI. "Whether you’re letting your imagination run wild, bringing a story to life, or looking for that perfect video to communicate what you’re thinking, Bing Video Creator puts the power of video creation at your fingertips," the Bing team says. "We’re excited to empower anyone to turn their words into wonder through an AI-generated video." How to use Bing Video Creator https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoxWxMjA224 Microsoft says that Bing Video Creator is coming to desktop and Copilot Search soon, but right now, it's only available in the Bing mobile app on iOS and Android. If you want to get started with the new tool, open the Bing app on your phone or tablet and tap the menu button in the lower-right corner. You should see a new button titled "Video Creator" in the list of apps. You can also just start typing "Create a video of..." in the search bar if you want to start the process without digging through menus. Whichever option you choose, you can then type in a description of the video you want and hit "Create." The Bing team explains that the more context and detail you offer, the better your AI-generated video will turn out. The time to generate the video will vary depending on the prompt, but you'll get a notification when it's ready. Videos generated with Bing Video Creator are 5 seconds long and can be created in 9:16 format (with 16:9 format coming soon). You can queue up to three video creations at a time, and once the videos are done generating, you can download and share them. Also, videos are only stored for 90 days, so be sure to decide what to do with them before that. The Bing Video Creator is free to use at Standard generation speeds, but everyone also has access to 10 Fast creations at launch. After that, users can redeem 100 Microsoft Rewards points for every Fast video creation going forward.
