Biden Policies Opened the Door to Terrorists

President Joe Biden’s lax immigration enforcement and open borders policies made this country highly vulnerable to acts of terrorism. One of the big lessons of this weekend’s anti-Semitic Molotov cocktail and flamethrower attack in Boulder, Colorado by Egyptian national Mohamad Soliman, is how vulnerable we’ve made ourselves to infiltration by foreigners looking to do violence or acts of espionage. That can be in the form of lone wolf ideologues, terrorist cells, or well-coordinated actors from hostile foreign governments and organizations. The Trump administration has been correct to pin a large portion of the blame for the Boulder attack on Biden. “The Biden Admin granted the alien a visa and then, when he illegally overstayed, they gave him a work permit,” Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff, wrote on X Sunday. The Biden Admin granted the alien a visa and then, when he illegally overstayed, they gave him a work permit.Immigration security is national security. No more hostile migration. Keep them out and send them back. https://t.co/nbEmTPfCrE— Stephen Miller (@StephenM) June 2, 2025 “Immigration security is national security,” Miller wrote. “No more hostile migration. Keep them out and send them back.” That’s right. As more details emerge about Soliman, a picture is emerging of a man who should never have been allowed in the country and flagrantly abused our immigration system once he was here. “Soliman came to the U.S. on a tourist visa in August 2022, according to a source from the Department of Homeland Security,” News Nation reported. “One month later, he applied for asylum. Soliman, his wife and their five children have been living in Colorado Springs, Colorado, since.” Soliman was reportedly granted a work permit in 2023, but it expired in March. Soliman’s wife and five children were taken into ICE custody Tuesday. Some have called this threat overblown, but that notion should be gone after Sunday. How many more people like Soliman, radicalized by the Israel-Gaza conflict, are still living in the U.S., potentially plotting other acts of violence? There are certainly signs that other people willing to commit similar acts of terrorism have come into the country over the last four years. The House Judiciary Committee released a report in August indicating the Biden administration released 99 potential terrorists into the country since January 2021. “Under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, of the more than 250 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist who were encountered by Border Patrol at the southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released nearly 100 of them, with at least 34 others in DHS custody but not yet removed from the United States,” the committee said in a press release. Illegal aliens came from a total of 36 countries, the report says, with an “active” terrorist presence, “including Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Pakistan, Russia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Yemen.” Notice that Soliman’s home country of Egypt is on that list. How many more potential, foreign-born terrorists are lurking in America? In 2024, the Department of Homeland Security, “identified over 400 immigrants from Central Asia and elsewhere who crossed into the U.S. in the past three years as ‘subjects of concern’ because they were brought by an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network,” NBC reported last June. Eight Tajikistan nationals with suspected ties to the Islamic State were arrested that month, but as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement director told The Daily Signal’s Virginia Allen at the time, this didn’t solve the problem. Not only were there likely many people in the U.S. connected to terrorist groups, but the vetting process made it difficult to ensure that the people brought in “legally” weren’t a danger to Americans. “Thousands of terrorists in the world are not found in any database,” Homan told The Daily Signal last June. “That is why we need to end catch and release and reestablish the ‘Remain in Mexico’ [policy].” Looks like Homan was onto something. Even former FBI Director Christopher Wray admitted in 2023 that the border crisis was opening the U.S. to the potential for an escalation of terrorism. He said of terrorists at a Senate hearing: Obviously, their ability to exploit any port of entry, including our southwest border, is a source of concern. There is a lot of discussion about numbers, and numbers are important. But let’s not forget that it didn’t take a big number of people on 9/11 to kill 3,000 people. While numbers are important, numbers don’t tell the whole story. And we have seen an increase in KST, known or suspected terrorists, attempting to cross over the last five years. Given the potential for deadly attacks on American citizens it seems like security should have been heightened, that visa vetting should have been aggressive. The Trump administration is turning things around on that end and clearly prioritizing American security. But after four years of open borders nonsense and courts that want to continue those policies as long as possible, this problem can’t be solved overnight.   The far Left wants to “globalize the intifada.” Some of those who wish to do violence are home grown. But Biden’s border policies gave them a massive opening to magnify the threat on American soil. Shameful. It’s a good reminder the problem with Biden was about much more than just his poor health and mental condition. Ron Johnson on ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Spending: ‘It’s Immoral’

Ron Johnson on ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Spending: ‘It’s Immoral’

As a Republican holdout on the “big, beautiful” budget bill, as President Donald Trump calls it, Sen. Ron Johnson thinks he has a fairly simple request for the 10-year budget plan: Go back to the drawing board and cut spending down to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels. “That pretty well sums it up in one chart,” said Johnson, R-Wis., in his office Tuesday, passing a historical timeline of deficit levels across his desk. Johnson, a fiscal hawk who was first elected senator during the fiscally conservative Tea Party wave of 2010, would like to see Republicans hit the brakes on the current bill and slash federal programs. The chart goes from the $200 billion deficit levels of the early 2000s to the $2.6 trillion deficits projected by the Congressional Budget Office for the mid 2030s if the House of Representatives’ big, beautiful bill were to pass as is. (George Caldwell/The Daily Signal) Johnson says these budgetary deficits could have catastrophic effects, as signaled by shaky bond markets he thinks are reacting to runaway spending and excessive borrowing. “The bond markets are indicating things: Moody’s, the last credit rating agency to downgrade our credit rating. These are all signs,” he said. “They’re not good signs. Global investors—one of the reasons interest rates are moving up is they’re not plowing their money into the U.S. bond as a safe haven. They’re buying gold. Just look at what the market is telling us. The market doesn’t lie.” What Will Trump Say? Johnson’s current opposition to the bill may put him in an awkward position with Trump—who has called for its speedy passage—but he says he’s hopeful Trump can be won over. Johnson is a longtime ally of the president. He was reportedly phoned into a conversation between Trump and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., on Monday. “I’m more than willing to work with the president. Based on our conversation, it sounds like he’s more than willing to work with me and others that have serious reservations. He wants to bend that [deficit] down,” the Wisconsin lawmaker said, adding: At the State of the Union, [Trump] said he wanted to balance the budget. Well, we’re a long way from balancing the budget. Johnson’s Counterproposal Johnson’s proposal is to split the bill in two. One bill would “get what we need to get done quickly”; namely, raising the debt ceiling for a year to avoid a default on the national debt, extending Trump’s first-term 2017 tax cuts before their expiration, and banking the easiest savings. The second part, Johnson said, would be a DOGE-inspired “forensic analysis” of the federal budget, in which “you can probably eliminate hundreds of billions of dollars of spending that nobody would even notice, other than the grifters who are sucking down the waste, fraud, and abuse.” “Did you realize there’s 2,600 programs in the federal government?” he said. “I bet you could eliminate half of them, and you would be none the wiser.” Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., proposes a DOGE-inspired “forensic analysis” to massively reduce spending. (Andrew Harnik/Getty Images) He dismissed the idea that these cuts would clash with the Senate’s Byrd Rule, which forbids provisions that are not primarily budgetary. “The things I’m talking about all have budgetary impacts. I mean, you just cut a program up,” he said.  Johnson told The Daily Signal that he’s not alone in his wish to dramatically alter the 10-year spending plan. There are “four people that unless significant changes are made, we’ll not support it,” he said, adding: I think there’s a much larger number of people who get this, want to do something about it, are probably a whole lot quieter than those of us who are speaking out about this. As a member of the Senate Budget Committee, Johnson is in a position to potentially stall the bill if he so wishes. “My primary effort right now is just to force people to look at the numbers, to make them look at the facts and acknowledge them,” he said, when asked whether he would attempt to use that position as leverage. Will Johnson Fold Under Pressure? The situation is sure to get more stressful for Johnson the closer the Senate gets to its preferred deadline for passage of the bill of Independence Day, July 4.  Asked what he would do if Republican leadership dared him to vote against a bill that would extend Trump’s tax cuts and prevent a potential default on the national debt, Johnson suggested he wouldn’t blink. “I recommend they don’t dare me,” he replied. “Work with me, and let’s do something that can pass, something that I can support.” A likely reason the entire budget process has been packed into one big, beautiful bill as opposed to two or three is to increase the pressure on members to vote for it.  If controversial provisions are included with others that are almost universally considered necessary by Republicans—such as raising the debt ceiling—then holdouts are less likely to vote against the bill. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis. (Tom Williams/CQ-Roll Call via Getty Images) Johnson says that won’t work on him. “That has succeeded in the past. It still might succeed; it’s hard to say. I mean, I know why they bundled it all up,” he said. “It’s like, ‘Oh, you’re going to really vote against it? You’re going to vote to, in effect, default on the debt? You’re going to vote to actually increase people’s taxes?’” “I understand the pressure coming our way, but this is what I can’t vote for. I can’t accept this without doing something about it,” he said, pointing at the deficit chart again. “We can’t acquiesce to this. I mean, what we’re doing here, it’s wrong. It’s immoral. The transfer of wealth from young to old is literally immoral. It’s got to stop.” The post Ron Johnson on ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Spending: ‘It’s Immoral’ appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Did Colorado’s Lax Approach to Immigration Enable Alleged Boulder Terrorist Who Set Pro-Israel Marchers on Fire?

Did Colorado’s Lax Approach to Immigration Enable Alleged Boulder Terrorist Who Set Pro-Israel Marchers on Fire?

A long train of policy failures allowed Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the suspect in Sunday’s terrorist attack on pro-Israel marchers in Boulder, to remain in the U.S., and in Colorado specifically, critics say. The Centennial State has enacted a broad swath of “sanctuary” policies in recent years, preventing state and local law enforcement from alerting Immigration and Customs Enforcement about illegals’ immigration status and allowing illegal aliens to obtain driver’s licenses and state benefits. Critics say this lax enforcement created an atmosphere that enabled Soliman to overstay his work permit. “Less than a month ago, Colorado Democrats stood and applauded the expansion of our state’s radical sanctuary laws—laws that fine law enforcement up to $50,000 for cooperating with ICE,” State Rep. Jarvis Caldwell, R-Colo., told The Daily Signal in a statement Tuesday. “Now, one of the very individuals they’re protecting has brutally attacked Jewish Coloradans in Boulder,” Caldwell added. “These policies do not keep our communities safe. They enable violence, strain our resources, and make Colorado a sanctuary for chaos—not law and order.” Soliman faces a federal hate crime charge and 16 state counts of attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly used a “makeshift flamethrower” and Molotov cocktails to attack citizens who were marching in honor of the hostages Hamas militants kidnapped from Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. He reportedly shouted, “Free Palestine!” amid the attack. The attack injured twelve people, many of whom are still recovering in the hospital. A spokesperson for the Colorado House Democrats expressed outrage at the notion of questioning immigration policies in the wake of the attack. “As a Jew, I find it both sickening and appalling that anyone would use an attack on our community to try to score political points, especially while the wounded are still in the hospital,” Freedman told The Daily Signal. When asked about “sanctuary” bills like SB 21-131, which restricts state employees from disclosing immigration information to ICE unless a court orders it, he noted that some Republicans voted for the measure. “Before people are tempted to make that particular law a partisan issue, national outlets should be aware that the bill had bipartisan support,” he said. While six Republican senators and one Republican representative voted for the legislation, Democrats still led the charge for it, and it represents only one in a slew of “sanctuary” measures. Centennial State House Republicans have filed legislation to enable ICE to work with local law enforcement, and Democrats have killed these bills in committee. The Biden Administration’s Role The White House blamed former President Joe Biden’s administration for allowing Soliman to enter the country. “The Biden Admin granted the alien a visa and then, when he illegally overstayed, they gave him a work permit,” Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff, posted on X. “The suspect, Mohamed Soliman, is illegally in our country,” Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, told The Daily Signal in a statement Tuesday. “He entered the country in August 2022 on a B2 visa that expired in February 2023. He filed for asylum in September 2022.” “He was granted a work authorization in March 2023—that expired,” McLaughlin added. Is Colorado a ‘Sanctuary State?’ Yet the tragic attack may also highlight Colorado’s laws on immigration. “Both Colorado and Biden administration policies allowed this attack to take place,” Lora Ries, director of The Heritage Foundation’s Border Security and Immigration Center, told The Daily Signal in a statement Tuesday. “The sanctuary state of Colorado facilitated illegal residence with multiple benefits and Biden’s DHS permitted Soliman to overstay his expired federal immigration benefits.” While the Department of Homeland Security had listed Colorado as a sanctuary state, Gov. Jared Polis, D-Colo., contested the claim. “Colorado is not a sanctuary state, despite this completely incorrect designation from DHS,” Polis told a Colorado Springs Fox News affiliate. Yet in 2019, lawmakers passed and Polis signed HB 19-1124, which prevents Colorado law enforcement from arresting or detaining an individual based on an ICE notice of illegal status. The bill also prohibits probation officers from providing a person’s immigration status to federal authorities. In 2020, Polis signed SB 20-083, which prohibits civil courthouse arrests, a practice ICE uses to enforce immigration law. In 2021, he signed SB 21-131 and SB 21-1194, which earmarked $100,000 to pay for legal representation for immigrants. Polis also signed SB 21-199, which repeals requirements that residents prove their lawful presence in the U.S. to receive public benefits. Last year, the governor signed HB 24-1280, which created a “welcome, reception, & integration grant program.” The law earmarked $2.5 million in grants “to community-based organizations that provide culturally and linguistically appropriate navigation of services and programs to migrants who are within one year of arrival in the United States.” Last month, he signed SB 25-276, which bars state jails from holding illegal aliens so ICE can enforce immigration law. The new law also makes it easier for aliens to receive public benefits such as in-state college tuition and a driver’s license. Polis’s office did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment by publication time. Trump-backed conservative wins Polish presidency, can torpedo Tusk's liberal agenda: 'Rebuff to the Brussels oligarchy'

Polish boxer-turned-historian Karol Nawrocki met last month with President Donald Trump and attended an event at the White House marking the National Day of Prayer. Nawrocki reportedly shared with Polish media that Trump told him he would win the Polish presidential election. Trump was right again. Nawrocki, backed by Poland's national-conservative opposition Law and Justice (PiS) Party, defeated the liberal mayor of Warsaw — whom Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem deemed a "train wreck" — in Poland's presidential election runoff on Sunday. The results, published on Monday, showed that Nawrocki beat Rafał Trzaskowski 50.89% to 49.11%, thereby securing a five-year term. 'You picked a WINNER!' Upon taking office on Aug. 6, Nawrocki can continue former President Andrzej Duda's work of preventing Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk's "globalist liberal government" from simultaneously advancing its leftist, pro-European Union agenda and from undoing the reforms undertaken by the previous PiS government. Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated Nawrocki on his "hard-earned victory," noting that "together, the United States and Poland will forge the most ambitious alliance in our shared history on defense, energy, and commerce." Trump said in a Truth Social post, "Congratulations Poland, you picked a WINNER!" RELATED: Liberals freaked out over Vance's Munich speech. Just wait till they read the State Department's Substack. Photo by Jakub Porzycki/NurPhoto via Getty Images Nawrocki noted in response that his top priorities are a "strong alliance with the USA, as well as partnership based on close cooperation." In addition to opposing illegal immigration and the EU's ruinous migration frameworks, the former boxer made abundantly clear on the campaign trail his opposition to leftist social policies, promising to axe any legislation that threatens to weaken Poland's pro-life legislation or normalize non-heterosexual unions, reported the Catholic News Agency. Nawrocki also emphasized that Poland's national culture is rooted in traditional Catholic values, telling supporters, "Poland's strength lies in its faith and family values." 'It's bad news for the EU, Ukraine and women.' Homeland Security Secretary Noem likened Nawrocki to Trump last month at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Poland and suggested that under his leadership, Poland could "steer Europe back toward conservative values." Various European conservatives and populists celebrated Nawrocki's victory, including Jordan Bardella, the president of France's right-wing populist National Rally party, who tweeted, "The Polish people have spoken and their free and democratic choice must be respected, including by the Brussels leaders who ardently hoped for their defeat." "Faced with a European Commission whose authoritarian policies and federalist ambitions are brutalizing national sovereignty, Karol Nawrocki's victory in the Polish presidential election is welcome news," said Marine Le Pen, former National Rally president. "It is a rebuff to the Brussels oligarchy, which intends to impose a standardization of legislation on member states, contrary to any democratic will." Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán Viktor called the election a "nail-biter," calling the outcome a "fantastic victory." Western liberals, meanwhile, clutched pearls and ramped up their fear-mongering. Adam Simpson, a lecturer at the University of South Australia, wrote, "Nawrocki's win has given pro-Donald Trump, anti-liberal, anti-EU forces across the continent a shot in the arm. It's bad news for the EU, Ukraine and women." RELATED: Rubio wages war on foreign free-speech tyrants with visa ban The White House Simpson acknowledged that it's harder to frame Nawrocki as "Russia-friendly" — a framing routinely used by critics of other national conservatives and populists in the region. 'More anti-European, nationalist and pro-Trump.' It'd be an especially hard case to make that Nawrocki is sympathetic to Moscow given he has called Russia a "barbaric state," recommended cutting off diplomatic relations with the Kremlin, and has personally been put on a Russian wanted list after leading efforts to topple Soviet monuments while director of the Museum of the Second World War and head of the Institute of National Remembrance, reported ABC News. Nevertheless, critics have made hay out of the incoming Polish president's vow to oppose NATO membership for Ukraine and suggestion that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "treats Poland badly." Piotr Buras, head of the European Council on Foreign Relations' Warsaw office, told the Washington Post that Nawrocki will be a "much more radical politician" than his predecessor — "more anti-European, nationalist and pro-Trump." Anne Applebaum, the Atlantic staff writer who smeared as propagandists early proponents of the pandemic lab-leak theory and wasted ink last year imagining parallels between Trump and various 20th-century dictators, made sure to repeatedly label Nawrocki as an "authoritarian populist." In the wake of the election, Tusk, now facing some calls to step down, indicated the Polish parliament will hold a confidence vote on his government. Jacek Sasin, a PiS parliamentarian, suggested that Tusk was a "completely frivolous man who got a red card from the Poles." Like Blaze News? Federal judge temporarily orders prisons to provide 'transgender' therapy despite Trump order

Prisons that deny trans-identifying prisoners hormone therapy could be guilty of cruel and unusual punishment, according to the newest ruling of a federal judge against the Trump administration.Senior Judge Royce Lamberth of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted a request from a group of trans-identifying prisoners on Tuesday for a temporary restraining order against a ban on hormone therapy. 'Neither the BOP nor the Executive Order provides any serious explanation as to why the treatment modalities ... should be handled differently.'The Federal Bureau of Prisons was ordered to provide the therapy to the group of trans-identifying prisoners as well as 2,000 other prisoners who were certified under the ruling as belonging to the same class who would suffer irreparable harm otherwise. President Donald Trump issued an executive order on Jan. 20 that banned federal funds for treatments provided “for the purpose of conforming an inmate’s appearance to that of the opposite sex." The lawsuit from the inmates in the case argued that the order to categorically withdraw "gender-affirming health care” from trans-identifying prisoners “regardless of their individualized medical need" is a violation of the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. That amendment prohibits the government from subjecting prisoners to cruel and unusual punishment. “Neither the BOP nor the Executive Order provides any serious explanation as to why the treatment modalities covered by the Executive Order … should be handled differently than any other mental health intervention,” Lamberth wrote in the opinion. Corene Kendrick, deputy director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s National Prisons Project, said in a statement to Newsweek: “This is a critical ruling for our clients and all transgender people in Bureau of Prisons custody. This administration’s cruelty towards transgender people disregards their rights under the Constitution."RELATED: Judge rejects religious freedom argument, rules school was justified in forcing out Christian teacher who refused to use students' transgender pronouns Photo by Vuk Valcic/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images Taxpayer-funded surgery for trans-identifying prisoners became a key issue in the 2024 election when it was discovered that Kamala Harris had indicated on a survey of candidates that she supported the trans prisoner surgeries. Trump lambasted Harris with the policy, and her campaign could not refute the accusation. Neither a spokesperson for the Justice Department nor the Bureau of Prisons responded to a request for comment from Politico. Lamberth was nominated to the court by former President Ronald Reagan. 'Illegal immigration is a cancer': Iranian student sues California college, claiming staff stifled free speech

An international student from Iran is suing a California college for allegedly threatening him with punishment over some political statements.Matin Samimiat claimed administrators from Golden West College took issue with comments about illegal immigration, men in women's sports, and the Israel-Palestine war.'I left Iran to enjoy the amazing freedom that the United States offers.'Samimiat and fellow student Annaliese Hutchings reportedly caused controversy with their booth at Golden West's Club Expo in February in Huntington Beach, California. The booth, which Samimiat operated with the conservative organization Young America’s Foundation, displayed a "change my mind" sign that encouraged students to engage in debate with him and Hutchings. However, it was not anything Samimiat said that caused an issue with the school. Rather, statements written on a whiteboard in front of the booth allegedly caused the stir. The board read: "Being an American is a privilege and we should all be thankful for it," "Illegal immigration is a cancer upon any society in the world," and "Men do not belong in women's sports and spaces."RELATED: Rubio wages war on foreign free-speech tyrants with visa ban The Young America's Foundation whiteboard at Golden West's Club Expo, February 25, 2025. Image via court documents.According to the College Fix, the board also labeled Hamas a "terrorist organization" that must be "wiped from the face of the earth."These statements were apparently enough for Stephanie Smallshaw, Golden West's director of student life and leadership development, to reach out to Samimiat to request a meeting.Samimiat and Hutchings, along with YAF, were named as plaintiffs in a lawsuit that claimed to provide details of the meeting Smallshaw had with the students. The lawsuit alleged that while Samimiat and Hutchings were advised the meeting was informal, it was meant to serve as a "courtesy warning."The lawsuit further alleged that Smallshaw told the students they would be disciplined if they continued writing similar statements as they did on the whiteboard. Smallshaw allegedly claimed the statement regarding illegal immigration "dehumanizes a group of people and compares them to a deadly disease."Regarding the Hamas statements, Smallshaw allegedly told the students, "You can't use language that can incite violence and encourage the killing of a group of people."Golden West College and Smallshaw did not respond to Blaze News' request for comment.RELATED: Texas takes aim at free speech — with a Republican trigger finger A power outage at Golden West College campus. Photo by Robert Lachman/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images.Samimiat told the College Fix that he left the Middle East and came to the U.S. to avoid such things."I left Iran to enjoy the amazing freedom that the United States offers. Now I find myself threatened with punishment for expressing political opinions — because they happen to be opinions that administrators don’t like."Political commentator Ian Miles Cheong told Blaze News that while some schools have faced bans on international student visas, students like Samimiat seem to "understand what it means to be an American" and should not face discipline."Isn't the whole point of college to educate students on how to think critically? It's obvious that college administrations, who wield so much power over what happens and what people say on campus, are terrified of some members of the student body," Cheong added.Like Blaze News? Mike Johnson says Elon Musk is 'terribly wrong,' defends Trump's 'big, beautiful bill'

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) reiterated his support for President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" on Tuesday after former Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk condemned it.Musk previously expressed disapproval for Trump's bill in a more reserved way, arguing that there should have been deeper spending cuts. But since Musk's formal exit from the DOGE, the tech mogul has escalated his rhetoric, calling the bill a "disgusting abomination." "I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore," Musk said. "This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."'With all due respect, Elon is simply wrong about the One Big Beautiful Bill.'RELATED: Elon Musk issues fiery statement against Trump's 'big, beautiful bill' — and the White House responds immediatelySpeaker Johnson responds to Elon Musk: “With all due respect, Elon is terribly wrong about the one Big Beautiful, Bill.” pic.twitter.com/QRyC7kb3Yw— TheBlaze (@theblaze) June 3, 2025 "I count Elon Musk as a good friend, and Congressional Republicans appreciate everything he has done to put a spotlight on waste, fraud, and abuse in government," Johnson said. "Now that DOGE has identified wasteful spending, it is being quantified by the Administration, and codified by Congress via the rescissions process and appropriations process."As of Tuesday, the Office of Management and Budget sent the rescissions package to Capitol Hill so Congress can begin codifying the DOGE cuts. OMB Director Russell Vought told Blaze News that he was confident that the bill will pass in Congress, but the House leadership has not yet scheduled a vote. The cuts in question are in motion, and Johnson seems keen on passing them. Although Musk has previously been an ally to the administration, Johnson and the White House are now on offense. "With all due respect, Elon is simply wrong about the One Big Beautiful Bill," Johnson said. "Our legislation comprehensively delivers on every major campaign promise and the America First agenda, while ALSO securing historic savings of more than $1.6 TRILLION."RELATED: Elon Musk takes jab at Trump’s 'big, beautiful, bill': 'I was disappointed' Photo by Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images"It’s going to keep our borders secure, provide historic tax relief for hardworking Americans, unleash American energy dominance, reduce spending, and restore peace through strength," Johnson added. "Congress is working hard to get this to President Trump’s desk by July 4th so we can deliver on the mandate the American people gave us."The House narrowly passed the bill in a 215-214 vote in May, and it has since made its way to the Senate. Although Republicans have a comfortable 53-seat majority, potential defectors have already emerged, and the White House has its work cut out for it.Like Blaze News?
