Democrats Plan to Subpoena Donald Trump Over Epstein

One of the concerns I had about bringing the Clintons in to grill them about the Epstein files was that it would open up Trump to being subpoenaed. Rep. Ted Lieu, who was born in Taipei, will subpoena him. When Trump refuses, we will hear “Trump raped children” for two years. Lieu’s allegations are based […] The post Democrats Plan to Subpoena Donald Trump Over Epstein appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

‘APARTHEID STATE’: Newsom Trashes Israel, Vilifies Netanyahu, Claims Trump Strikes Driven By ‘Grift’

In a vicious attack on President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the U.S.-Israel relationship, California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom called for rethinking the American support for Israel, vilified Israel as an apartheid state, and ripped into Trump. Speaking with former Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor during an event to promote his autobiography, “Young Man in a Hurry,” Newsom was asked whether Democrats should reconsider U.S. military aid to Israel in light of Netanyahu’s leadership. “Well, he’s making that easy right now,” Newsom began, as he started maligning Netanyahu. “The issue of Bibi is interesting. Because he’s got his own domestic issues. He’s trying to stay out of jail. He’s got an election coming up. He’s potentially on the ropes. He’s got folks, the hard line, that want to annex the West Bank.” Newsom then quoted the infamously anti-Netanyahu New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman to traduce Israel with the leftist false claim of Israel moving toward “an apartheid state,” adding, “For two years, they haven’t even been able to solve the Hamas question in Israel.” He turned to implying that Trump attacked Iran because of Israel. “In so many ways, that influence in the context of the conversation of where Trump ultimately landed on this is pretty damn self-evident,” said Newsom. “When you bring two aircraft carriers out there and you assemble the kind of military force that Trump did over the last few weeks, it didn’t surprise me ultimately that they moved that direction.” The governor was asked, “Do you think, looking down the road, that the United States should consider, maybe, you know, rethinking our military support for Israel?” Newsom then offered his crocodile tears: “It breaks my heart because the current leadership in Israel is walking us down that path where I don’t think you have a choice but that consideration.” He also referenced what he characterized as “the grift and the corruption” connected to broader regional dynamics, naming members of the Trump family, including the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and son-in-law Jared Kushner. “The fact that we are in this now, a regional war. All these proxies and all the grift and the corruption that also marks a huge part of this,” he said. “And that’s a real conversation we need to have, this Board of Peace. In the piece that the Witkoff family is getting, in the piece that Kushner is getting, in the peace that Trump Jr. is getting.” NEW Tonight, at a book event in Los Angeles, Governor Gavin Newsom said that the United States is being pushed by Israel into a position where it may have to reconsider military support. Newsom said that those who say Israel is an apartheid state are doing so “appropriately.”… pic.twitter.com/6UUBEH7hYD — Yashar Ali

Iran Fires Missile Toward NATO Ally — Pentagon Asked If Article 5 Could Be Triggered

Iran’s widening war nearly reached NATO’s doorstep after a ballistic missile fired toward Turkey was intercepted before entering Turkish airspace. During a Pentagon briefing early Wednesday morning, Mary Margaret Olohan, White House correspondent for The Daily Wire, asked War Secretary Pete Hegseth whether the incident could trigger NATO’s collective defense clause known as Article 5. Hegseth acknowledged the engagement but suggested the alliance does not currently see the incident as meeting the threshold for invoking NATO’s mutual defense provision. “I’ll have to get back to you on exactly what the intercept looked like,” Hegseth said. “We’re aware about that particular engagement. Although, no sense that it would trigger anything like Article 5.” Article 5 of the NATO treaty states that an attack on one member is considered an attack on all members of the alliance, potentially triggering a collective military response. According to regional reports, the Iranian missile traveled across Iraqi and Syrian territory before being intercepted over the Eastern Mediterranean by NATO air defense systems. Debris from the intercept reportedly fell into Turkey’s Hatay province near the Syrian border. Turkey is a NATO member, making the strike particularly sensitive as the United States and Israel continue their joint military campaign against Iran known as Operation Epic Fury. Turkey’s Defense Ministry said it reserves the right to respond to what it described as a hostile act. Despite the rising tensions, Turkey has maintained a complicated relationship with Iran for years. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has cultivated close diplomatic ties with Tehran while also positioning himself as a defender of Turkish sovereignty in the region. Analysts have long noted that Ankara views the stability of Iran as strategically important, particularly to avoid a refugee crisis along their shared border and to prevent Kurdish militant groups from exploiting instability in the region. Turkey also relies on Iran for roughly 10% of its natural gas imports and maintains key trade routes with the country. At the same time, Erdoğan has been sharply critical of Israel during the broader conflict. He has repeatedly condemned United States and Israeli strikes on Iran as a violation of international law and described the widening regional conflict as a “ring of fire.” Erdoğan has also been one of Israel’s most vocal critics internationally, frequently accusing the Israeli government of war crimes and refusing to designate Hamas as a terrorist organization, instead describing the group as “liberation fighters.”

Dem Nominee Wants ‘Giant Welcome Mat’ On America’s Front Porch — And It Gets Crazier

“Our southern border should be like our front porch; there should be a giant welcome mat out front and a lock on the door.” James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for Texas Senate, is facing heat over his previous comments that the border should be like a “giant welcome mat” for illegal immigrants. Talarico secured a victory in the Democratic Senate primary in Texas on Tuesday over Rep. Jasmine Crockett. As of Wednesday morning, with 92% of the votes counted, Talarico has secured 53% of the vote while Crockett lags behind with 46%, according to the Associated Press. “Our southern border should be like our front porch; there should be a giant welcome mat out front and a lock on the door,” Talarico said in the resurfaced clip, which was from a January debate between the two Democratic candidates. FACT CHECK:@NRSC conveniently cut Talarico’s full quote: “Our southern border should be like our front porch. His campaign website also states: “Most of us agree on what should happen. Our border should be like a front porch — it should have a welcome mat out front and a lock on the door.” It adds: “We can both welcome the stranger — refugees, asylum seekers, and folks who want to contribute to our economy and pursue the American dream — and we can keep people out who mean to do us harm.” The Democratic nominee for Senate in Texas, James Talarico, has repeatedly said the border “should have a giant welcome mat and a lock on the door.” pic.twitter.com/Mmc3Ami4yZ — Jennie Taer (@JennieSTaer) March 4, 2026 Talarico has made the statement during other stops along the campaign trail, including while visiting the southern border in El Paso. In one of the earlier clips, Talarico said, “If anyone commits a violent crime in this country, they should be deported immediately,” adding, “Every law enforcement resource that is spent going after hard-working members of our community is law enforcement resources that aren’t spent on going after folks who are actually a threat to public safety.”

Majority Of Voters Back Trump’s ‘Operation Epic Fury,’ View Iran As ‘Threat To Global Peace’

President Donald Trump’s massive military operation against Iran is popular with around 60% of likely voters, according to a survey released on Tuesday. The poll from OnMessage, which surveyed 1,800 likely voters on Monday and Tuesday, suggests that most of the American public aligns with Trump’s messaging on “Operation Epic Fury” and is on board with the joint U.S.-Israeli mission to wipe out the authoritarian regime. The poll shows that 56% of likely voters support the United States taking out Iranian leadership, while 63% agree with targeting Iranian nuclear and ballistic missile sites. Nearly 70% of respondents, meanwhile, agree with the Trump administration’s argument that Iran is a “threat to global peace and democracy,” and 76% agree that “if Iran built a nuclear weapon, [it] would pose a direct threat to the United States.” The results fly in the face of Democratic Party talking points, which condemn the president for taking military action against Iran without congressional approval. Many Democratic lawmakers have been vocal in their opposition to “Operation Epic Fury,” arguing that Trump is abusing his authority and putting Americans at risk with his military operation. Only two congressional Democrats, Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman and New Jersey Rep. Josh Gottheimer, have voiced their support for Trump’s action. Since the strikes began last weekend, Trump has regularly addressed the mission, while his senior officials — including War Secretary Pete Hegseth and General Dan “Raizin” Caine — have provided daily updates to the American people. The Trump administration has said the Iran strikes are necessary because the regime posed an “imminent threat” to the region and would have likely targeted American troops first if the United States did not act. Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff also said earlier this week that during recent negotiations with the regime, Iranian officials bragged that they had enough uranium to produce nearly a dozen nuclear weapons. On Tuesday, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that his decision to strike Iran alongside Israel likely prevented a nuclear war, where Iran could have “taken out many countries.” “If we didn’t do what we’re doing right now, you would’ve had a nuclear war and they would’ve taken out many countries because you know what? They’re sick people. They’re mentally ill, sick people. They’re angry. They’re crazy. They’re sick,” Trump added. FOLLOW THE DAILY WIRE’S LIVE UPDATES ON ‘OPERATION EPIC FURY’ While Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested the administration was mindful of the risk of Israeli action and potential retaliation, Trump himself shot down the idea that the United States was forced to take military action because Israel planned on striking Iran first. “No,” Trump told reporters Tuesday. “I might have forced their hand.” “We were having negotiations with these lunatics, and it was my opinion that they were going to attack first. They were going to attack. If we didn’t do it, they were going to attack first. I felt strongly about that.” The OnMessage poll also showed that even Democrats and independents who would not support Trump’s handling of other issues agree with military action against Iran as long as the United States can finish its objectives quickly. Sixty-five percent of self-described Democrats and 68% of independents agreed with the statement, “I support military action against Iran that helps free Iranians from oppression and neutralize threats against America, but don’t want the United States to get stuck in another forever war in the Middle East.” Trump has suggested a four-week timeline for “Operation Epic Fury,” but he has also said the military action could be longer or shorter depending on how quickly his objectives are met. American and Israeli forces have already taken out dozens of top Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, obliterated Iran’s air defenses, and destroyed most of Iran’s navy. Trump has not ruled out putting American boots on the ground in Iran. He has also suggested that he wants to see the Iranian people take control of their government from the authoritarian regime. In an address announcing the strikes early Saturday morning, Trump said, “To the great proud people of Iran, I say tonight that the hour of your freedom is at hand. When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations.”
